Of course, I'll always be an advocate for the characters being down-bad instead. Yes we simp for them all the time — but consider them being the ones pining, yearning and longing for you. Losing their minds over the distance they can't seem to be able to get rid of.

I think Mydei having lived for a long time and being on the battlefield throughout the majority of it, has made him a bit (at the very least) withdrawn from others. He... doesn't really know how to handle fragile things. Is a bit paranoid over causing physical harm to you. It's a valid concern, because it would require little effort for him to do so.

I'd like to assume he's mindful enough to provide you with necessities and arrange sources of entertainment should you get bored. Through servants and helpers of course. Even though he leaves you to your devices most of the time, whenever he has the time, he watches you.
