I know the animation industry has been going through a serious rough patch in the past 10 years. I just hope the medium and the artists making it can get the respect they deserve someday soon. So I wanna take a moment to spread a reminder of the powerful emotional scenes we've gotten from animation in the past 10 years.

It's so funny how Luca is literally a queer slice of life coming of age teen drama disguised by a fish metaphor, and yet the main discourse about it by the anti lucalberto shippers is "Just because they're close friends doesn't mean they're gay" like no, there is an entire thesis paper you could write on the queer subtext of this movie and it is built into so many plot details, like if I was given this script and told I had to rewrite it to be about humans while keeping the main conceit, I would make it about a pair of queer teenagers because that's the only way you could do it.
