skinny people often move through the world with little thought to how their bodies' thinness shape their experiences and like i know that, but i feel like people who spent most of their lives skinny and now are not are almost worse about just saying shit without examining their biases. like the self-loathing is crazy, and they expect that you, as a fat person, are on the same page. like no girl this has been my whole life and thinness holds no real value to me. unpack your shit. i'm not holding space for your shame in your body. i don't want it, and it's not productive for you to carry it either.
and like. i respect wanting to lose weight for health reasons, to prevent further issues with bad joints, etc, but i feel it's a bit tone deaf to tell your fat friend how bad gaining weight makes you feel about your appearance and self-worth. idc if you Think you're only holding yourself to those standards. it's revealing of your values, and you need to work it out for yourself. you can say it's only about you and yourself all you want, but i see the patterns you don't.
