I'm thinking about hosting a Magi OC week sometime in the upcoming months! I wanna see everyone's OCs!! But I also want to see if enough people are interested, hence the google form. If enough people are interested, I'll decide dates and prompts!! If you have questions or want to get involved, my dms and ask box are always open!!

MAGI OC WEEK 2025!!!!!!!!!!

Super excited to announce that August 25th-29th will be the dates for Magi Oc Week!! Thank u to the people who responded to the google interest form! For those who haven't and are interested in an oc week, I will be closing the form on August 17th.

This is an event centered around sharing original characters and self inserts for the series Magi: the Labyrinth of Magic.

This is a primarily Tumblr event, but feel free to post to other socials as well!! Spread Magi as much as possible!!! I will likely be posting on my Instagram over on @ratsrequiem

Guidelines

All fanworks will be reblogged to this account. Make sure to tag works with #magi oc week 2025, that way I can see the posts and rb them here! It would also help me out a bit to tag this account (@magi-oc-week) just to be extra sure that I see it. If posting to Ao3, please use the tag #magi oc week 2025 on that platform!

You can submit multiple works for the same prompt if you'd like. You can post as much as you want, so long as works are tagged properly and follow the prompts! All works must be submitted by September 1st to be featured here.

All types of fanwork are accepted. For obvious reasons, remember that this is a magi-themed event.

Absolutely ZERO tolerance for AI. Works using AI will not be reblogged.

A few readers of my Magi fanfic have made fanart of my self insert in pink and magenta, or suggested pink outfits. I often getting really uncomfortable wearing large areas of pink for extended periods, so I decided to do just that for this challenge :3

I almost used Dunya's light green hair for Mori's in Sindria's Prophet but in then end I realized that not having near black hair would feel off with the isekai set up. Since I haven't gotten to use it yet I wanted to play with it here :3

Tales about the mother of chaos

Landa is the (second) Magi of the Kou Empire, brought from Reim many years ago when she was nothing more than an innocent and naive child to what would become Al Thamen. The woman served primarily as a priestess and even worked in one of the organization's temples located in Parthevia 10 years ago when Al Thamen established itself in the country. That is, until the temple was destroyed by Sinbad, leading her and the rest of the organization to return to Kou. There, she had to live once again with the First Magi.

Landa had seen him before these events, but she didn't actually try to engage in a dialogue with Judal. However, the Magi tried to push her to the limit or provoke her capabilities as the "second Magi" something that yielded no results. After some time, Judal simply accepted her and began to live with her naturally. Judal has a sense of exclusivity, so for much of his youth, he felt compelled towards a one-sided competitiveness, which left him frustrated.

Landa didn't mind doing the most important or the largest number of tasks, but she felt virtuously arrogant when she had some greater merit, something that infuriated Judal. Occasionally, she would find him to have tea in some secluded corner of the palace, where Judal would mainly complain but eventually talk about things that amused him throughout the day, generally involving carnage and misfortune, or comment on a conversation he had with the newly titled king of Sindria, Sinbad. Landa visited Sinbad in the company of Judal a few times, attentively paying attention to the Djinn user.

Landa is tremendously arrogant and has a grandiose ego, akin to the weight of the heavens on a mortal's shoulders. However, she does not express this directly, mainly adopting a passive-aggressive approach. This is only when she feels frustrated or unjustly treated; in general, she is a composed woman. Her egocentric behavior is mainly due to the time she spent with Gyokuen in Kou (a not exactly pleasant time).

Landa and Judal have a dynamic inspired mainly by the Kindred (yes, those from League of Legends), but I also think of them as yin and yang (and not just because of the colors). I write them as "opposite sides of the same coin" or "good and evil," "black and white," or even Padmé and Anakin, considering the inspiration for the character. The metaphor behind them is the complementary relationship, as it is something symbolic and beautiful, regardless of the interpretation the audience may have.

Hey so... I am coming into a bunch of very $$$$ medical bills. I've got a bunch of tests to try to figure out the cause(s) of my chronic pain, some attempts to treat it, and I had an allergic reaction so bad on Friday that I had to go to the hospital. The allergic reaction came from my bed leaching out chemicals. As soon as we removed the bed my reaction started actually recovering. So I don't have a bed right now either

I'd really appreciate commissions or short term Patreon subscriptions because my insurance is not going to cover much of anything until I finish paying the premium

On top of my normal commission I am offering emergency sketch comms for both my digital and traditional art. The traditional art will be photos not originals. As with the Request Tiers on my Patreon the amount of details I put into each sketch will be based on the vibe the idea gives me, so I might put in more effort than a simple sketch. Also, digital sketches will most likely be drawn in indigo violet (like in the examples) unless something else is requested

Ok so..... I created my first Magi OC..... finally after 10 years. He's Daim, Prince of Sindria and Sinbad's little bro. He has feelings for Judal.......

Update on Izumi's design process!! Plus her incubator lmao.

Its taken me more than a week to get to this point. You have no idea how painstaking it is when you get so involved into a character's design process and want it to look good, especially when you know its mostly because of how much of a perfectionist you are at the end of the day.... Over all? I'm glad I finally have a design I like. I tried SEVERAL different leg and wrist options, skirt options, dresses, etc.

And before aaaaanyone decides to come for me due to giving her a high-low skirt that shows her pelvic area, its on theme not for sex*lization purposes. She's a water themed mahou and in turn I want her design to reflect that, hends a lot of the scalloped edges and the seashells and her being barefoot (although that's also due to her just not liking to wear shoes if she has the choice). Plus it also alludes to frilly swimsuit bottoms that can be seen in both "beach episodes" and in lolita swimwear (yes that exists people). The pearls and shells allude to oceanic themes, and because she's also being given wind undertones, she gets little wings on her ankles. Little Hermes nod lol. And the hip pauldrons? Those allude to Atlantis and how a lot of mermaid royalty tend to have protective armor in more modern scifi.

Tomorrow after work I'll try my hand of what wrist or hand accessories to give her. I know that I want her fingers to be free at least, along with maybe her palms. Outside of that I have no idea.

Also still thinking up names for her incubator. He's gonna be white mostly but instead of pink/red markings and fades on the ears, its probably gonna be teal or something. Also his ear...tail...thingies? They aren't folded in how he's posed. Its actually arounded and bulbous, kinda like how the bottom of an octopus plushie is.
