TFP Autobot Headcanons (Optimus Prime, Ultra Magnus, Ratchet)

You are a human assigned to an Autobot to keep you safe after you discovered their hideout with the rest of the human gang.  For now, the Autobots will have a platonic love for you.

Optimus Prime:

He was reluctant at first to take you under his wing, but he worried that Ultra Magnus and Ratchet wouldn’t have time for you, and Smokescreen and Wheeljack are equally bad influences.  He doesn’t have much time to look after a human, so he’ll be very apologetic, telling you bluntly how this partnership will go.

He’s very busy as the leader of the Autobots, and he’s often spending most, if not all, of his time patrolling for threats or Energon.  Your relationship will go very slowly, but eventually, with a bit of pestering from you, he might take you on his daily drives to get to know you better.

He soon falls in love with driving you around in his cab.  You’ll be listening to your own music, working on some homework, or playing games on your phone, but you remain quiet because you know Optimus likes his peace.  It’ll start slow, maybe he’ll allow you to play your music aloud or even let you connect to his speakers.  Eventually, he’ll make comments on your music taste before transitioning to full on conversations.

He enjoys learning about human culture, and in return, he’ll tell you about Cybertron and his life before the war.  He treasures the rare moments when you get too lost in your thoughts and you ramble for hours during the long drives.  When you realize you’ve been talking his audio receptors off, you’ll apologize, but he’ll always reassure you and ask you to continue.

If you ever fall asleep in his alt-mode during the long drives, he avoids all rough terrain and will try to drive a bit slower to not jostle you too much.  He might even play some soft music or park completely to let you sleep peacefully.

As you two grow closer together, he’ll hang out with you when you’re at the base.  Instead of retreating to his room to work more, he’ll become a more common presence in the common room.  He’ll hover over your shoulder as you do work or watch from a safe distance when you play games with the other humans.  If you ever struggle with school subjects, he’s downloading everything off the internet revolving around the topic, and he’ll let you sit on his shoulder as he projects a small diagram to help teach you.

Although he has a lot of respect for you already, his affection will only skyrocket if you manage to get Ratchet to relax a bit.  He cherishes his friend and only wishes for him to take a break and relax, so if you manage to do what Optimus has been trying to do for years in a few months, Optimus will be so grateful for your persistent human spirit.

As time goes on, he lets you ride on his shoulder because he doesn’t like it when the humans run around on the ground where they might accidentally get stepped on.  He even got Ratchet to make him a necklace-like thing that can clip onto a harness you wear just in case you slip off.  He converses with you often as you sit there and likes that you’re on the same level as him now instead of him talking down at you.

When he tried to pick you up from school one day, you got a lot of questions from your friends the next day about the large semi-truck that took you home.  You think of a quick excuse, but Optimus is deflated to hear that his alt-mode is not a common human vehicle.  He’ll reluctantly have Bulkhead or Bumblebee pick you up from now on.

Overall, he’s very dad-like and will scold you if you ever get too rowdy.  He sees you as the reason he needs to defeat the Decepticons once and for all, just to protect you.  Although he was reluctant at first, he’s glad that you're his ward and that he gets to grow closer to you everyday and exchange knowledge.

Ultra Magnus:

He complained to Optimus when he assigned him to be your guardian, and he did it right in front of you too.  He made it very well known that he didn’t want to watch over you, saying he was much too busy to be concerned about a little human.  A quick talk with Optimus has him grumbling to himself about being demoted to a human babysitter.

Since he made his distaste of you known from the first day, you try to be more reserved and not be a burden to him. Eventually he caves with some persuasion from the other humans and Autobots.  He’ll schedule a formal meeting with you to get to know you better, and it’s kind of funny to see you sitting on Magnus’ desk, him glaring down at you in what he thinks is a friendly manner.

You eventually have to lecture him about human customs and how this is not how you make friends, which eventually leads to you telling him that you feel abandoned and lonely when you see the other humans interacting with their guardians.  He finds your sudden change in attitude enlightening, not knowing that you felt that way.  He will apologize and relax only a bit to have a real conversation with you.  After the talk, you two commit to work on developing this new relationship and friendship between a human and an Autobot.

As you get to know him, he will remain uptight around the others, not wanting to let his guard down and be seen as weak.  But, in privacy, like that one rare time he took you for a drive to get away from the idiots he works with, he softens up and rants to you about his emotions and the pressure he feels.  If you listen to him without judgment and even offer him helpful advice, he’ll listen to any frustrations you may have with your friends, parents, and/or school.  He’s a very good listener and he also has wise advice to give, although he often makes Cybertronian analogies that you don’t quite understand.

He’ll start to take you out for drives more often if he sees you struggling mentally, and he’ll let you sit in silence to take a breather or let you speak your mind.  He’ll always make up an excuse to save you the embarrassment and questions from the others.  Eventually, you just ask to go on drives just to spend time with him, which he finds shocking, but he enjoys your presence.

If you ever fall asleep in his alt-mode, he’ll let out a loud sigh before driving right back to base.  Others will ask him why he’s remaining in his alt-mode, but he’ll just drive right past them to his room.  He can’t risk you being in danger in such a vulnerable position, but he also does not have the spark to wake you up when you looked like you needed the nap.

When he takes you on drives in his alt-mode, he’ll usually be distracted looking for Decepticons or anything out of the ordinary.  At first, he wouldn’t let you play music from his stereo, and he still doesn’t unless it’s music he approves of beforehand.  He’s very picky with his music, but he’s not very selective when it comes to podcasts.  He loves listening to all sorts of podcasts to better understand the human world.  From true crime to the news, he’s interested in all of them, and he’ll listen to whichever ones you enjoy.

At base, he does keep an eye on you, but he’s not actively watching out for you when you do your homework or play games with the others.  As your friendship grows, if you need a quiet place to work, he’ll let you sit on his desk and join him as he works.  He’ll be secretly delighted if you take an interest in his work.  He loves talking about his work and his duties, so he’ll gladly talk about the reports he has to write and might even tell you a few stories of his favorite past battles.  He’ll also be intrigued by your homework, wondering what’s the importance of human history or math.  He might even download some human textbooks to learn more about what you are taught in school.

He is a wonderful tutor if you ever need homework help.  Although he’ll pretend it’s a chore, he wants you to have the best education and be an intellectual, so he’ll dedicate one of his precious I-Pads to human textbooks/knowledge and will use it to tutor you in subjects you're weak in.

Overall, he has a rough exterior, but he is capable of having emotions.  It just takes a bit more effort to break through to him, but he’s huge on communication, so talking to him about both of your issues will have him respecting you more.  Your relationship is based on mutual respect, and if you don’t turn your back on him, you'll have a very protective and knowledgeable guardian at your side.

Ratchet:

Similar to Ultra Magnus, Ratchet did not want to be your guardian, but at least he complained to Optimus in private.  He claimed he was much too busy with his research, fixing things up around base, and manning the spacebridge to be concerned with human affairs.  Optimus managed to convince him to give it try and if you became too much of a hassle that you could be transferred to a more willing member.

Ratchet will have the dignity to not ignore you, but he’ll do the bare minimum.  He won’t pick you up from school because his alt-mode is too unusual for that kind of setting, but he’ll at least say “hi” to you each day.  One of the only ways to get his attention is if you’re an intellectual like him and point out a mistake he’s made in his work.  Since you’d probably be friends with Raf, he’d teach you all about Autobot science and math, which allows you to see Ratchet’s miscalculation.  Ratchet will just stare at you, shocked, as you explain what he did wrong before walking away.

It will literally keep him up at night, even though he doesn’t get much sleep to begin with.  Eventually, he’ll have you start checking his work.  He’ll probably attempt to email you his calculations, but it ends up overwhelms your computer, leading to him just putting you on his shoulder and bringing you over to his computer.  You two spend hours looking over his research, checking for any mistakes.  After a few weeks of this, he’s startled to find that he doesn’t trust his own work without you approving it first.

Like you help him with his work, he’ll help you with your work.  He’s very smart, so he quickly understands human math, but he’s very old school.  He’s like those older parents who are confused and upset about schools changing the way certain things are done.  He gets particularly upset if you have math issues and you tell him the way he is teaching you isn’t the same way the teacher told you how to do the problem.

He rarely lets you sit in his alt-mode because he doesn’t do a lot of driving or patrolling.  But, if Optimus forces him out of the base, he’ll take you on a driving break and will drive around the mountain range where the base is located.  More often than not, he’ll just park on a nearby rock formation and watch the sunset with you, wanting to see the stars and constellations.  He’ll say they’re different from the ones on Cybertron and will love it if you point out the more prominent ones and tell him the stories behind them.  If you’re lucky, he might project some images of the ones on Cybertron and he will teach you about their history and significance as well.

If no other humans are at the base, he’ll let you play music on the speakers while the both of you work.  He doesn’t let a lot of people do this because he’s afraid Miko will abuse the power and play her loud music.  He’ll appreciate it if you play softer music like jazz or even songs without words.  He’ll start to tap his foot if he likes the song, so you have a playlist of songs that you notice he likes.  He’ll eventually realize that you only play songs that he likes, but he’s too proud to point it out.

If you have a sleepover at the base and if you’re an insomniac like he is, he will scold you and try to force you to go to sleep.  You’ll just use his words against him, trying to persuade him to get some sleep too.  You both will just be bickering with each other for a bit before you two come to the same agreement that you both need your rest.  As part of the deal, he will transform into his alt-mode and you will sleep inside.  He won’t let you bring your phone inside or any other distractions so you have to go to sleep and you’re inside so he can’t transform to do his work.

Overall, he’s very grumpy, but after he warms up to you, he’ll become very interested in the human mind.  If you are able to match both his intellectual talk and his sarcastic comments, he’s more likely to admire you and offer to work with you.  He’s just a very tired bot, and he appreciates that the younger human that follows him around is making him feel more lively and youthful.

It just came natural to you, taking care of those around you. You always carried extra snacks, maybe band-aids, a water bottle- basically a care package in your bag. For you it was always a nuisance if you couldn’t fix tiny issues when you were on the go, and to an extent you were always ready to help those around you if they needed it. 

Another thing you got going for you was your memory- often you would remember small things told to you in passing. Appointments, supplies someone needed, deadlines, you wouldn’t shy away from casually reminding people of them especially when the life you’re leading could quickly become hectic. Through your caring nature you also quickly befriended Magnus, Alex and the rest of the perthro family.

Of course, whenever Magnus was around nobody would really need patching up from you. Magnus was after all a walking health potion. But other times, if someone got only the slightest of scratches, you would have a plaster ready. And if there were tougher times, you would always prepare some form of comfort food for those who need it. Magnus came to you more often than Alex to talk about his feelings, the way he sometimes felt he still needed to deal with the grief of losing his mother- or the sudden changes happening all around. Alex specifically had a hard time sharing her feelings, she wasn’t used to being openly received and it might have taken a little more prying and patience before she willingly shared her troubles with you. But with enough kindness and care she came to understand you were a safe space- Magnus too, and if she needed it you would be there to listen. 

There was another perk to being your lover that Magnus and Alex found. Somehow, unconsciously, you had made your room and bed the coziest place in the entirety of the nine realms. Just laying on your bed could relax either of them instantly. Whether it was because of the blankets you had, or the scent, or maybe that fact that it meant you were also in your room, they didn’t know. 

If she hadn’t seen you for a while, Alex was always a little taken back by the fact that you tended to have a little gift for her. It was just something small, but meaningful and a silent way of knowing that you thought of her while you weren’t together. And in a sense she could relate, if you haven’t talked in a few days and she starts throwing pots she sometimes surprises herself with making something that she just knows you would like. There is a certain shape of mug you prefer that always comes out if she misses you. The pottery reminded her of you, and it often led to her shooting you a message. 

Magnus on the other hand doesn’t fully know how to deal with the presents. He’s in a stage where he thinks receiving a present means you expect something back from him, and when you never ask he’s just left confused.He treasures the little gifts, and often appreciates it even more if it’s something he forgot he wanted, but he tends to wait for you to ask something of him, and if it doesn’t happen he tries to figure out how to pay you back. The first few times he got a gift from you he actively freaked because he thought he had missed an important date- but that wasn’t it. 

At some point he voiced his concerns to Alex, who simply said, “(Y/n) simply thought of you when they saw this and got it, that’s not hard to understand, is it?” smiling a little mockingly at him. Maybe it wasn’t, but Magnus was thinking of you all the time and if he were to get something for you each time you would need a storage unit for the amount of gifts. So instead, the next time you brought him something he simply asked. 

“What do you want in return? I really want to give you something but-” he got interrupted by your laugh.

“Alex said you would ask,” you tapped your chin, feigning a thoughtful expression, “How about a kiss?” that was easy to deliver, and left Magnus more flustered than you. 

And then there was the way you helped around the Chase place after it was founded. Alex had warned Magnus beforehand that you might never leave the place if they let you. There were so many teens and other homeless that needed help, a pick-me-up, or had clothes that needed mending that you could help around for days on end and never catch a break. For someone who loved giving self care reminders, you seemed all too set on disregarding your own health. Which is where your lovers had to come in. 

“(Y/n), when’s the last time you ate?” Alex hummed, not so sneakingly slipping behind you and holding you, his face next to your ear. You could feel his breath on your neck, as you kept sewing the glove you were holding. You stayed silent, thinking the question over. 

“I haven’t had lunch yet, but it’s not that late, is it?” you answered, pausing a moment as Alex hummed. 

“That’s not the point, nor the mindset you should have,” Alex pressed a kiss on your neck, “Good thing Magnus is almost here with lunch for us. Then it’s time for a break.” 

As Magnus arrived you moved away from your little sewing project, in favor of giving your lovers all the attention you had. This seemed to please them both immensely, and you felt your cheeks get warm from the amount of attention they were giving you. If anything, you really appreciated that they looked out for you, by bringing you lunch. 

“Who’s the gloves for anyways?” Magnus asked as he stared at what had kept you busy before. 

“Oh, I don’t know. They were left here a few days ago and could clearly use a fix,” you shrugged, “maybe the owner comes back, and if not someone else can use them. It’s getting colder after all.” 

“You should’ve just thrown them away,” Alex said, “You got enough other things you’re doing, a pair of abandoned gloves should be the least of your worries,” 

“In this day and age,” you playfully glared at Alex, “a pair of gloves is very important, imagine all the cold fingies people have.” Alex laughed, and didn’t press any further. Because that’s what he loved about you- always taking care of those around you, even if you don’t know who they are. Magnus smiled too, shaking his head. 

“Will you at least take the rest of the day off? We could go on a date or something,” Magnus offered. He had realized how much he missed you when last night he had gotten your favorite snack instead of his own when he was feeling peckish. 

“Of course!” then you hesitated, “I mean, what if-” 

“Nope, no thinking,” Alex stood up, and grabbed your hand, “We’re leaving now.” Magnus quickly joined, grabbing your other hand and guiding you out of the Chase place.

Hell yeah, okay, here we go! I don't think that I have any xReader suggestions but have a list of some favourite content: I am assuming that you are all good for spoilers and don't need any relevant warnings and also that you want Jonah content as well?

My all-time favourite Elias fic is this one that is a Jonah/Elias shipping fic with a premise that sounds like a crackfic but somehow turned out to be so interesting, you'll just have to trust me

I do sometimes read Jon/Elias fics, so here are a few of those ones: they're all explicit so do check the tags. -this one also has Jon/Michael content, I like their Elias and their Michael both so much. -this one has Jon and Elias leaving England together, and it was one of the first fics that sold me on the pairing -and this one is just some fun compelling-play!!

also hey weev i can do you one better on this particular count

bc one night my friend and i (for similar reasons by which i mean none it was just there so we did it) rated all our mutual fandoms by explicit [character]/reader fics to find who is the most fuckable character

i wont give the full results of our findings bc there’s a lot of weird and irrelevant fandoms in there, but here are some stats:

-you’re right, the taz fandom is not at all horny in comparison to the others, though unsurprisingly the most fuckable characters are taako and magnus (tied at three fics each (0.053% when i calculated it), though i gave taako the win here bc thanks to taakitz he has the most ship fic

-karkat is the most fuckable homestuck character, at 0.064%, followed closely by dave

-there are more than three times as many xreader fics for the grand highblood than there are a single homestuck girl

-there are as many eligible steven universe fics in the night vale tag as there are any particular character

-shiro from voltron more or less quadruples the highest percentage of any other fandom except undertale, at 0.2%, so the voltron fandom is full of horny motherfuckers, also unsurprising

-i mention undertale last bc you know where im going with this

-sans undertale

-has a whopping 8% of fics

-that’s 40x more than shiro

-125x more than karkat

-someone stop the undertale fandom

Midway of writing this fic I realized I was projecting but also I realized to my friends I have never had much of a hard time coming out. One day I just told them to use my name to refer to me esp. when I was there and they did, and this was months before I got the guts to pick a label. Anyways....

Pairing: Alex Fierro x reader (platonic), Sam, Magnus, Blitzen and Hearthstone are there too! Words: ~850 Warnings: Discussions of coming out and mostly fluff. Writing the fic made me weirdly emotional but again I think I am projecting-

You wondered why there was no guide to any of this and you were nervous. You wondered if maybe it would be better to try to write it down instead of tell people out loud but that seemed weird. It did not help that you felt like you were lying, or unsure for now- what if it will pass, what if next week you change your mind, what if – what if?

What if you never try and live a lie.

After careful consideration you decided that perhaps you should start with one of the few people you know who could openly be himself proud and loud, every day.

“You wanted to talk?” Alex raised his eyebrow as you nervously sat across from him. You wanted advice- and you figured that Alex would be the best source to ask advice on this topic. However, you only realized after you asked him for help that you would first need to come out to him. It’s not that you thought he would not accept you, but it being the first time you told him- you told anyone that you were non-binary made you nervous. You rubbed your hands together unconsciously, and Alex noticed your behaviour. Last time he checked you were never nervous around him- so he wondered what was going on. He was about to ask when you took a deep breath.

“I need your advice on coming out- ” you had a painful smile on your face, “I- I think I am non-binary and I want to tell our friends but I don’t know how,”

Alex schooled his expression of surprise and smiled, putting a hand on your shoulder.

“Thanks for telling me.” He smiled and your nervousness subdued a little, “now first take a deep breath and we can come up with a game plan,” Alex guided you to a calmer state of mind. You still felt a little jittery, but he managed to assure you little by little that of your own confidence.

“The worst part,” Alex had told you, “Is the learning to say it to people. But you can pick – either do it in a get together, or whenever you see someone.” “But aren’t you nervous?” You sighed, “I felt like vomiting just now.” “At first it was horrible- I used to suck it up, especially when I was not sure about the people around me. But little by little I learned to get over that. Why would I care about the opinion of those that would not accept me?” Alex laughed, “Of course, it helps that in the meantime I found a group of people that accepted me and that makes it a lot easier.” Alex sided eyed you, before he offered you a smile, “It won’t ever be the easiest to come out, you never know how people will react, but with the right people behind you and a little self-worth you can get far. Remember, you do this for yourself and because you are worthy to be respected and known for who you are. You do not own anyone your coming out except for yourself, (Y/n).”

One afternoon you were just sitting on the balcony of the Chase place with some of your friends. Sam, Magnus, Blitzen and Hearthstone were all in their separate conversations. You looked around and figured that right now was just as well as any other time. You felt slightly nervous, but Alex was sitting next to you, trying to subtly reassure you that you could do it.

“Do you want to?” She asked and you nodded, “Should I get everyone’s attention, or will you?” “I don’t know, Alex.” You took a deep breath, “Could you…?” “With pleasure,” Alex smiled, “Hey listen up you fucks!”

Everyone turned to look at Alex, and after Blitzen point Hearthstone int her direction all eyes were on the girl sitting next to you, and in turn this meant that all eyes were on you. The silence was deafening, but as Alex nudged you, you knew there was no backing down anymore. No more lying to yourself.

“Pronoun update!” You did jazz hands, after which you resumed signing your words as you spoke, “I think I’m nonbinary so if you could refer to me with they slash them?” you just announced and your friends nodded. “Any name changes or?” Magnus asked and you shook your head. “Not yet, am thinking about it.” You shrugged. “Cool. Tell us when there are more updates,” Magnus said and as you nodded everyone slowly returned to their conversations. You took a deep breath, returning the thumbs up Blitzen was sending you from where he was standing, before he started conversing with Hearthstone again.

“And? How do you feel?” Alex asked. “Somehow not really different,” you rubbed your hand over your heart, “but lighter. I definitely feel lighter.” “Good,” Alex elbowed you rather roughly, “I’m proud of you, (Y/n).”
