missing the bygone days when stories were well paced.....
#idk man im thinking about gaslight district and how ass the pacing on that pilot was#i want to love this world and the characters in it but i feel like im watching the story happen on 20x speed#its too much. i couldnt get into it#having good pacing is soooo crucial to a story in any medium#if its too fast your viewer gets overwhelmed#if its too slow your viewer gets bored#and i think with the rise of modern social media and people's attention spans getting shorter and shorter#showrunners and story writers feel a need to make everything paced at mach 10 speed#theres also the issue of corporations not giving shows the room they need to breathe anymore but i digress#also from a writing standpoint. you dont need to jam everything into the first episode/chapter....#episode/chapter 1 is your hook not your entire story#and if you have to make your ENTIRE STORY your hook then. well. whats even the point#anyways thats my ramble about story pacing. its so crucial and yet i see it getting ignored more and more nowadays#ekho thinks#writing#creative writing#stories

The new bookcases should be here next Friday, and I'm very excited by the possibility of not having to live with floor stacks in my room for much longer lmao.
