Bumi is the werewolf (big hairy man lol.) and Lin's the hunter. I feel like this is the most obvious.

At first I was gonna go with Lin as a mermaid, but then I remembered that Bumi was a literal naval commander and also merman! Bumi is a fucking vibe. He'd slay.

Lin is the least whimsical witch you will ever meet and Bumi is the familiar. What animal can he shapeshift into I wonder?

Barista Bumi. Idk why but I feel like this man can make amazing coffee. I can see it in his forearms. Lin is a canon coffee addict in my heart.

Like with the mermaid one, I at first was gonna have Lin as the teacher but I found the idea of cool guy professor Bumi and really strict TA Lin really endearing

Bumi is the Knight and Lin is the surprisingly competent princess. But i also love the idea of rugged knight Lin and soft Avatar's son Bumi. So like. I can go either way.

I can certainly see Bumi as a writer for some reason? Like he tells stories a lot, I think he'd be a decent writer. Lin being his editor would be really funny because I can imagine that Bumi just word vomits onto a page.

Oooh werewolf Kya! As a waterbender, she already has a connection with a moon, it's perfect. I think Lin would look cool with like, a Dawnguard style crossbow.

I mean. Kya feels more mermaid-y. Water connections and all. Also She's just so damn whimsical.

Tenzin as a gentle as fuck werewolf. Pema is ready to get rawdogged by a monster with a huge knot but Tenzin is too much of a sweetheart.

Tenzin would probably be a mermaid and Pema is the overly excitable fisherwoman who caught him and keeps him in a bathtub. (I just feel like Pema would be a monsterfucker. I feel it)

Hmmmm... I can see it going both ways. Kuvira just has vibes for both, y'know. But picking one it'd be Korra as a rather unproblematic werewolf. And Kuvira as the overzealous werewolf hunter who's very excited about commiting murder to clear monsters from the area.

prompt idea: irosami, linumi and makopal on a triple date. How does it go? Do they know they are on dates?

Nobody knows they are on a date.

Lin and Bumi are trying to set up their sad single protegés so they stop moping about and get a life. Bumi suggests Lin bring her niece, who is a little young but good-hearted and a potential match for someone determined like Iroh. Lin tells Bumi to have a word with Asami. She and Mako were a cute couple when they were younger and they stayed friends. Maybe the right romantic setting will rekindle the flame?

Iroh confides in Asami on the way over that Bumi has been in love with Lin for years.

Opal tells Mako that her aunt has the biggest soft spot for Bumi and she wished they would go make out instead of bothering other people.

Asami spends the whole dinner whispering advice to Iroh about how to get Bumi to make a move.

Mako gets Opal to airbend Lin's chair so she falls into Bumi's lap.

Lin magnanimously decides not to murder any of them. Bumi can't stop grinning. Iroh uses Asami's advice to ask her out instead. Opal airbends Mako into a goodnight kiss.

I’ve never been a fan personally of ace/aro Mako headcanons just because I see his interest in Asami and Korra pretty sincere and the reason it didn’t work out is because they’re teenagers and general awkwardness. I have enjoyed other people’s headcanons and fanfic and what not but it’s just not something I personally gravitate towards, but as someone who is also ace-spec I can see why other people like it/ means something to them.

honestly I’ve always been more of a fan of ace/aro Bolin, just because I could see Bolin realising that he doesn’t really like dating and romantic and sexual intimacy that much, what he really wanted all along was platonic intimacy and love. I have always just seen it?

So anyway, just because I keep seeing Makopal headcanons, I can imagine Bolin breaking up with Opal. She’s a little heartbroken (but maybe she always knew there was something wrong). Bolin obviously hates hurting Opal‘s feelings and cares about her a lot so hopes to find her a new romance. He obviously lands on Mako because a) Mako is great, b) Mako is single and c) Bolin doesn’t actually know that many people.

Anyway honestly not sure what would happen next, maybe Mako and Opal just go along with it because they can see he’s trying and fake date and enjoy each other’s company anyway even if they’re just friends. And then actually bond because they’re both nerdy introverts and heart and have a lot in common and actually date. And then Korra and Asami are like ‘wtf Bolin that worked’ and Bolin is like ‘of course it did I’m amazing *finger guns*’

EDIT: to be clear I mean Ace+ Aro Bolin who isn’t looking to pursue a romantic or sexual relationship with anyone. Ace and or Aro can have a romantic and or sexual relationships. This just isn’t that scenario.

Endgame Makopal

So, I'm starting a tag game sort of thing for rarepairs and this will be the post for the Makopal story chain. Rules will be found here.

In all technicalities, this was her first mover experience. Well, rewording it, her first mover experience alone without any overprotective brothers by her side. Or parents. Or the constantly nagging friends who always spoiled the mover for her. Every. Single. Time.

She had bought herself two boxes of popcorn and a can of juice, just because she can, thank you very much, mother.

She reached down to the nearby seat to keep her juice on the cup holder so that she could fetch her phone out and find her own seat... Only to cause a rain of popcorn over the dark haired man sitting in that very seat. A really hot looking man at that. Said hot man who was glaring at her.

Do you have any headcanons about how they might have gotten together? Any about their relationship in general? Is it a ship you’d like to see happen in canon or do you think it’s best kept in AUs?

Hello Boomi!! I'm doing fantastic!!

Oh god would you believe it was a random thought that escalated until I couldn't avoid it?? 😂 When I was watching LoK I kinda had a mental list of the things I liked about it (I'm not critiquing LoK but I just needed a list of its good qualities to, you know, motivate myself to keep watching it in spite of the things i didn't like (where's Suki)) and Mako and Opal were just, casually, on the top of the list so this is mostly a case of My Favorite Character x My Second Favorite Character. Then I found 2 fanarts and 1 fic (LMAO) and I decided yup this my tiny cracky part of the fandom and I'm staying here.

Also I'm not sure if I'm the captain of the ship because I know at least 2 humans shipped it before me but until they reclaim the title I'll keep it.

What made me ship them? THEIR PERSONALITIES. Mako is a socially awkward no nonsense guy with a lot of trauma and Opal is a cinnamon roll with a dark side. That's my favorite kind of ship (*looks sideways at Zutara*). Also because I liked that Mako took the 2 years gap to be single and work on himself, just like Opal also spent those 2 years traveling around the world and helping people. I really like where their character development took them. From my point of view they just fit. Mako is mature enough to understand Opal is not a sunshine all the time and Opal is the right balance of sweetness/badassery to both call him out on his flaws and help him to heal + genuinely be happy together.

HC about how they could get together: I have some but my favorite is Opal Joins The Police after mastering airbending (and spending years mostly just traveling with Juicy and Kainora). More or less when when she's 26 she asks herself 'well what do I want to do with my life now?' and she finds herself thinking about how much she admires Aunt Lin, and remembering how she wanted to be just like her when she was a child and her mom collected every single newspaper with Aunt Lin in it. So she gives it a shot and she likes it. She spends more time with Lin (who's very happy about sharing with Opal what she shared with Toph when she was younger but will NEVER admit it) and *plot twist* Mako is assigned as her partner. Enter here the slowest slow burn ever burned, with Mako awkwardly getting closer to his brother's ex girlfriend as said ex girlfriend develops an unwanted crush on this hothead. (Side Note: Bolin has been happily on college for years now, studying to be an engineer like Sokka and Baatar Sr).

And no I wouldn't trust Bryke to do my laundry. Some things are better on Headcanonland.

Of everyone in the show I think Opal Beifong would objectively make the best detective partner for Mako. They're both passionate and committed to stopping the bad guys but Mako brings his street smarts and has memorized the protocols and has orphan baggage while Opal brings her passion and indignation at the ills of the world and is also trying to distinguish herself as yet another Beifong in RCPD while not being labeled a princess. They'd argue every 10 minutes and give it 110% when it matters. We as a fandom are sleeping on the Fire & Air noir AU.

Pairing: Mako/Opal

Summary: The soulmates feel each other’s pain when the other gets hurt. Chronic pain is like a dull throb in the background like an itch that never goes away while small scratches are like pin pricks.

Opal never really understood this system. Mako never wanted this system. But here they were, stuck together.
