everyday I wake up hoping that the writers didn't forget about lloyd's goofy ass nonexistent beard

Killua just makes me so. He's so. I. Look. Here's this snarky, cocky little brat with blood on his hands and a sword of damocles carefully positioned above his head in the form of his manipulative, abusive upbringing that makes him doubt his own capacity for connection; a blade he maintains, so painfully aware of its presence, out of a mix of fear and dread, and he's got the sweetest, kindest heart that beats in defiance of everything he was brought up to do. The same eyes that can give a death stare cold and ruthless enough to freeze people in their tracks melt into the softest look you have ever seen. And he wants to be anyone besides the weapon he was made to be, and he wants a friend so badly, and he wants the sun on his young skin, and he doesn't think he deserves any of this, creature of darkness as he is. And despite this (or rather, because of it), when he loves someone he loves them so completely and selflessly. And he's so so afraid that he'll be left behind, that he isn't worth staying with if he isn't useful, and he can't muster up the courage to say any of this aloud. He grew up so fucking lonely. And he's so blinded by the light that saved him that he completely misses that he brings light to others' lives too, and to no one more than the beacon who first offered out his hand to him. And to his friends and to his baby sisters, he's devoted beyond belief. And this love and selflessness is his ultimate rebellion! And maybe he can't love himself just yet but he's trying! And. And. He's so small. He's so small and his feelings are so big. They are bigger than he is! And after all this he is still a snarky little shit who blows all his money on chocolate and gets competitive about stupid things and is hilariously prickly and embarrassed when people say nice things about him. And grahghhhghghghghghghhh he's so! He's so!!!!!!

Horse throat, bloodied nails, claw marks on his skin, vomit, blood, piss (and poop maybe? 😭), no showers, no water, no food, and very little circulation for FOUR DAYS

Even WITHOUT severe sensory issues, that's a fucking nightmare

not to mention this came right after weeks of him not sleeping or eating properly/spiraling into paranoia (due to pretty severe psychological abuse), and he was already panicking when he was PUT in there. and it was nearly pitch-black with only a tiny sliver of light under the door. 8 feet of space at the very most. like that is torture. that is actually torture.

i genuinely think the really intense night terrors he's been having make perfect sense. even after raph and leo cleaned it up i dont think they have any way of it properly being put into perspective for them just how horrible and traumatic that was. there is genuinely no way to describe an experience like that without living it. and then they pulled him into the family meeting two days later.

okay but how about being one of the Top Gun too? With the worst generation? Kid still being Hangman.

and on day two of the training session he freaking leaves you mid air, with Maverick (Law) shooting at you. it's damn frustrating. and when the next day it happens again? the anger is starting to bottle up, you try to be patient, because what else can you do? but it's all a matter of responsibility, he would create more victims within his team, than the enemy could, if he keeps flying like that. something Kid clearly doesn't seem to grasp.

on day fourth you're furious. enough is enough and you get in front of him while he's preparing to get onto his F-18. he's already laughing at you and you didn't even speak. and when you do, he moves his hand dismissively, nothing you say can change his mind, it's a miracle he follows the navy rules after all.

but then. you're too furious, too whipped, and grab him by the collar, his face is close both your breaths mingle, your tone is filled with poison while you list the amount of things he does that make him an awful pilot, not only for the team, but himself too. now, that's something: no one ever dared to comment about his pilot skills, too afraid to get on his bad side, but here you are. instead of saying the repetitive things he already knows about himself, you call him out on something he's proud of, and that leaves him speechless, he only grunts while shoving away your hand from him, the contact making him falter for a moment, before he starts walking again towards his plane.

during that training session, he gets "shot" by Maverick in 5 mere minutes. and no one hears him say something about it for the entire day.
