20 martie: Sfinții Cuvioși Mucenici din Mănăstirea Sfântul Sava cel Sfințit

Sfinții cuvioși Ioan, Serghie, Patrichie și alții au fost uciși la mănăstirea Sfântul Sava. În decursul secolului al VIII-lea, regiunea din jurul Ierusalimului a fost supusă unor incursiuni frecvente ale saraceenilor. Mănăstirea Sfântul Hariton a fost devastată și ruinată. Arabii saraceeni au încercat de două ori să jefuiască lavra Sfântului Sava Sfințitul, însă providența lui Dumnezeu a protejat mănăstirea. A treia oară când saraceenii au venit să atace mănăstirea, călugării ar fi fost capabili să scape de barbari ducându-se la Ierusalim, dar s-au hotărât să nu părăsească locul în care căutaseră mântuirea o vreme îndelungată. https://www.diane.ro/2024/03/20-martie-sfintii-cuviosi-mucenici-din.html

Über eine lauschige und vor allem kurvenreiche Straße erreichen wir das Psiloritis-Gebirge, auch als Idagebirge bekannt. Auf einem fruchtbaren Plateau mit Olivenhainen, Weinbergen, Pinien, Zypressen und Eichen liegt das Kloster Moni Arkadi, ein nationales Heiligtum Kretas. Despot Stefan Lazarević, also known as Stefan the Tall, ruled Serbia during the late medieval period, specifically from 1389 to 1427. His reign is noted for significant contributions to Serbian culture, literature, and military achievements. This era, part of the late Middle Ages, is a critical period in Serbian history marked by both internal development and external challenges.

Osijek, my hometown in East Croatia, used to have a direct train to Budapest via Beli Manastir. But the train hasn't been running for over a decade, and it's created a lot of problems for people who want to travel quickly to Pécs and Budapest by train.

The train station in Beli Manastir used to be bustling with people, but now only a few trains connect it to Osijek. I can't imagine how inconvenient it is for the people living there to travel anywhere else in Croatia or Hungary.

A couple of months ago, I visited the train station in Beli Manastir and took some photos with my Pentax 67 on Portra 160. I hope you like them!
