Stormy skies down at St Ouen. I had to go ALL THE WAY to St Ouen today to visit a client. In Jersey terms that is A Long Way. In reality it is only about 7 miles maybe and the journey took me 20 minutes. Everywhere in Jersey is 20 minutes drive. That’s one of the things that makes this island so awesome. I haven’t been out to St Ouen’s for a couple of weeks and some big skies were definitely needed. The sky was a weird yellow grey colour and the tide was coming in with some big rollers. I wish I’d had time to watch it start crashing over the wall but sadly... work. Anne Port Days like this are becoming more and more rare as we go into winter so I’m grateful every time the sun shines. This is at the southern end of the beach looking towards Jeffrey’s Leap, which has an interesting story. Also, please note my dream house at the end of the bay. St Aubin’s Bay. Caught this beautiful sunset on Thursday when I went to pick up the bf from Bel Royal. I could see these amazing crepuscular rays (That’s the beams of sunlight coming through the clouds) peeking through the clouds as I was driving down the avenue and I wanted to make sure I got them in a photo. It’s that time of year again! I love autumn, I think October might be my favourite month of the year. We spotted these pumpkins for sale at the weekend and just had to buy one, although it probably won’t make it to Halloween. Guess which one we bought? Yeah, the biggest one! Once we had strapped it into the car(!) and got it home it overwhelmed my tiny kitchen so the plan for it is.... pumpkin soup and my all time favourite pumpkin cake, an annual tradition. We’ll carve it as well but I still think there’s going to be too much! Does anyone have any other ideas for what we can do with it? (It’s too heavy for me weigh on the kitchen scales......it’s possibly as much as 8kg!) Anne Port. We desperately needed to get out and get some fresh air today so we had a little stroll at Anne Port before treating ourselves to tea and cake from the cafe at St Catherine’s Breakwater. The weather is still a bit changeable but when it’s sunny it’s still glorious and almost warm. Not quite swimming weather for me... I’ve totally chicken out of swimming in the cooler weather. Every year after the summer I say I’ll keep on swimming until it’s too cold but every year I change my mind as soon as autumn comes.
