Kya ye aapne mehsoos kiya hai kabhi? Jab kisi maqbooliyat ki sa'at me aap Allah ke aagay haath phailayen baithe hote hain....khaas waqt...jaise Jumuah ke din Asr ke baad wali ghari...jaise Mataaf me baithe, baarishon me bhigte hue aapki nazrein kaaba par ruki hon, aapki hatheliyan aapke Rabb ki baargah me uthi hain, yun ke aapko yaqeen hai, iss waqt aapke zuban se nikalne wali har iltija aapke liye unn phaili hathrliyon me puri karke daal di jayegi...? Uss lamha e qubooliyat me aap har wo Dua karlete hain, jo aapki ruh me muqeed hai. Aap har uss insan ka naam le lete hain, jo aapke liye khaas hai. Har wo insan jo aapki zindagi me hai ya guzar chuka. Lekin chand naam yun chalay aate hain, jaise mehman hon koi. Na dosti ka talluq na koi qurabatdari. Lekin unke naam yun aajate hain aapki duaon me jaise parinda pani par udti machhli ko jhapak ke ek lamhe me apna rizq utha le jaye. Lekin kuch naam, kuch naam aise hote hain, jo aapke dil ki dehliz par aakar thehar jate hain...shanasa se wo naam, jinke lene se shayad qarb umad aaye ya shayad koi bhi tassur na ho...lekin wo naam bas wahin tak ruk jate hain, na unka hissa duaon me aa paata hai na zehn koi alfaz jabran bhi unke liye bunta hai. Bas Yun jaise unn naamon par aapki duaon ko chup lag gayi ho. Aap unhe yun uss dil ki dehliz se utar ke kisi aur khane me undel dete hain, laparwahi se...ke haram me bitayi uss sa'at ke ikhtitam tak wo naam aapko bhul jate hain, daraz me ghum kisi shay ki manind. Mai sochti hun, ke dil itna behiss to nh tha unke liye, to phir ek saada si dua bhi hum kyun na maang paaye unke liye....lekin phir ek udaas karne wali sargoshi me koi kehta hai, ke dil ko takleef pahonchane walay logo'n ki saza yahi hoti hai, ke aapki duaon se unka rizq utha diya jaata hai.

I wish I could find more people who love kabaddi as much as me😔 Like does nobody wants to simp together on Maninder's thighs? Does nobody wanna discuss how absolutely breathtaking shadloui is? Does nobody wants to thirst over the rising raiders like devank and aashu? Does nobody wanna reminisce the golden era of Pardeep narwal?

Grimdark Magazine Issue 38 is here!!
This issue deserves so much thanks, most of all to Beth Tabler and Adrian of GDM for making it happen, and personally, I want to thank them for choosing my story as inspiration for the cover and featuring Punjabi Sikhs - which is huge.
For those who don't know, my family background is Sikh, and it's a religious minority that doesn't often feature in fiction, and I've never seen Sikh coded characters on the cover of anything sff in the West personally. In Reed Lions you'll find a band of brothers on the march, Sikh coded by names like: Harpreet, Buppi (nickname for Bulpindher), Many(short for Maninder - a Sikh friend of mine I tuckerized), and others.
The story pays nods to the sacrifice of Sikh soldiers in history and wars - like those used as cannon fodder in Africa and other wars.
At it's core: it's a story of positive masculinity and male brotherhood, duty, sacrifice, PTSD/depression, and the tolls/tragedy of war.
I want thank the members of my discord for all their support and this one is dedicated to them, and to Boe Kelley for the gift of a gaming keyboard I specifically wrote this on.
I'd like to thank Mihir, Shazzie and all the others who've taken time out to read, review, and share this. And of course the deepest thanks as well to the contributors with whom I get to share this lovely TOC and for giving their BRILLIANT stories, which you can get here.

Linen Clothing: A Natural Choice for Everyday Comfort and Style
Linen has quietly made its way into modern wardrobes—not because it’s flashy or trendy, but because it simply works. From its breezy texture to its breathable nature, linen stands out as one of the most comfortable fabrics available today. Whether you’re stepping out in a party wear dress for women or lounging at home, linen fits in without trying too hard.
But what exactly makes linen so special? Let’s explore.
Why Linen Feels So Good to Wear
Linen is made from the fibers of the flax plant, a crop that has been used for textiles for thousands of years. The fabric is known for its breathability, which allows air to circulate naturally and helps keep your body cool—even during hot, humid days.
That’s why linen is often a first choice when it comes to comfortable clothes for women, especially during warmer months or when dressing for long events. Unlike synthetic fabrics, linen doesn’t trap heat or moisture, which makes it ideal for both casual and formal wear.
It’s Not Perfect—But That’s the Charm
One of linen’s unique features is its tendency to wrinkle easily. For some, that’s a downside. But many people actually love the relaxed, lived-in look it gives. These natural creases tell a story—of movement, comfort, and softness that grows with time.
Instead of fighting it, modern fashion embraces the texture of linen. You’ll find designers choosing linen for everything from structured jackets to party wear dresses for women, knowing that its charm lies in its simplicity.
Linen Ages Gracefully
Unlike many fabrics that wear out with frequent washing, linen gets better. It softens over time without losing its structure. That means the more you wear and wash it, the more comfortable it becomes.
It’s not uncommon to own a linen piece that lasts for years. If you’re building a wardrobe of comfortable clothes for women, this kind of longevity is something worth valuing.
Caring for Linen Is Easier Than You Think
Many assume that linen is a high-maintenance fabric, but it’s really not. It can be machine-washed, air-dried, and doesn’t require frequent ironing if you’re okay with its natural texture. In fact, skipping the iron often brings out the best in linen's look and feel.
A Fabric That Fits Every Occasion
Linen isn’t just reserved for casual wear. With modern tailoring and minimalist designs, linen can easily be dressed up. Whether you’re attending a summer brunch or looking for a statement party wear dress for women, linen offers that perfect mix of elegance and ease.
In recent times, brands like VIVIR by Maninder Kaur have been reimagining linen in more refined silhouettes, making it suitable for both everyday wear and special occasions. Their collections reflect how linen can be effortlessly beautiful without shouting for attention.
Why Linen Deserves a Place in Your Closet
Linen is more than a seasonal trend—it’s a lifestyle fabric. It reflects a conscious choice: to wear clothes that are kind to your skin, easy to move in, and gentle on the planet.
So, the next time you’re choosing what to wear—whether it’s a regular day out or a celebration—think of linen. It’s a fabric that feels good and looks even better with time.
FAQs About Linen Clothing
Q1. Does linen shrink after washing? Yes, linen can shrink slightly during the first wash if it's not pre-washed. Most quality brands pre-shrink their linen before stitching. Always check the care label and wash in cold water to prevent further shrinkage.
Q2. Can linen be worn in winter? While linen is ideal for summer, it can also be layered in winter. Thicker weaves and linen blends offer insulation while keeping the breathable quality intact.
Q3. Is linen suitable for party wear? Absolutely. Modern linen designs include elegant cuts, embroidery, and dyes that work beautifully for formal and festive settings. Linen can be just as refined as any silk or chiffon party outfit.
Q4. How do I remove wrinkles from linen without ironing? Hang your linen clothes in a steamy bathroom or use a fabric steamer for a quick refresh. Some even prefer the natural wrinkles—it’s part of linen’s character.
Q5. Where can I find authentic linen clothing online? If you’re looking for timeless, minimal, and high-quality linen pieces, visit https://vivirhouse.com/. Their collections are thoughtfully crafted with comfort and durability in mind.
Final Thoughts
Linen may not be the loudest fabric in your wardrobe, but it’s often the one you’ll reach for the most. It's breathable, beautiful, and built to last—exactly what good clothing should be. Whether you’re dressing up or dressing down, linen quietly delivers.

Indo-Canadian Organizations Endorse Indian PM’s Participation in G7 Summit
Toronto: While protests against Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s planned attendance at the upcoming G7 leaders’ summit in Canada made headlines over the weekend, several prominent Indo-Canadian organizations have expressed strong support for the invitation extended by Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney. They emphasized that although anti-India demonstrators have been vocal, they represent only a small minority within the broader Indo-Canadian community.
Maninder Gill, managing director of Radio India and head of the Friends of Canada and India Foundation, praised PM Carney’s decision, stating, “We have received numerous positive responses from Radio India listeners welcoming PM Modi’s visit. Canada’s foreign policy should not be dictated by diaspora politics. Fringe sectarian groups cannot hold the India-Canada relationship hostage.” Gill also noted that his earlier letter to Carney urging the invitation was acknowledged by the Prime Minister’s office, with concerns forwarded to Foreign Minister Anita Anand for consideration.
Gill further highlighted that those opposing Modi’s visit do not reflect the views of the entire Sikh community, which numbers around 2 million in Canada. He pointed out that the dissenting groups consist of only a few hundred members.
The Hindu Canadian Foundation also lauded Carney, praising his leadership and commitment to prioritizing Canadian interests despite external pressures. Similarly, Ritesh Malik, chair of the Canada India Foundation, commended Carney on social media, calling the invitation “the right decision for Canadians.” He criticized opponents as “self-centered and hateful individuals” posing as Canadians.
Meanwhile, protests continued over the weekend in Vancouver and Brampton, featuring graphic displays accusing Indian leaders of involvement in the death of pro-Khalistan activist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Surrey last year. The separatist group Sikhs for Justice has organized a convoy and a 48-hour campaign to disrupt Modi’s participation at the summit on June 16-17.
The G7 summit itself is scheduled for June 15-17 near Calgary, Alberta.
