Biography:
car accident tw, death tw
Sadie Tuck affectionately known as Sisi grew up in Maple Creek with her parents and a close-knit family. The Tucks enjoyed their simple but fulfilling life on the Island. She had a happy and comfortable childhood, her dad a teacher and her mom grew a lot of her own food as well as running a small bakery which started Sadie's love of food. Her older brother is from her father’s first marriage, however, he primarily lived with them and he is her best friend. She grew up with her parents and older brother until she was 12 years old when she sadly lost their mother in a car accident. She’s never really talked about it to anyone but it has made her determined to make the most of life.
Sadie has always been hardworking, determined, loyal and full of life. Growing up, she enjoyed being surrounded by nature and the natural beauty of her parents’ picturesque home in Maple Creek. Their large home had its own land and she spent her childhood riding bikes or climbing trees with her older brother. As she grew, she’d spend hours with her notebook in the woods or helping her mom in the kitchen. Her mom encouraged her to play piano and guitar from a young age and it is something she still enjoys. She's often annoying her family singing and playing songs at every special occasion.
After losing his wife, her dad worked a lot and become principal of the local high school but he was a good father and Sadie never doubted how much her dad cared for them. Looking after each other quickly became the norm and Sadie naturally found herself cooking and taking care of her dad and brother.
Despite losing her mom so young, she tried to make the most of her life. She embraced high school, she was artistic, smart and had plenty of friends. She thrived in her teens, winning talent competitions, joining the drama club, meeting her first boyfriend and working part time at a local restaurant. She even spent the summers helping at the camp. She was happy and she tried to make the most of every day. She had her brother she was close to and her dad who supported and loved them unconditionally.
Sadie’s biggest passion is food and everyone who knows her, knows she is a foodie. She has spent what feels like her whole life cooking and baking and she couldn’t imagine not doing it. She cooks for her friends and family at any opportunity. She is known to be a little bossy and she likes to be in control of the kitchen, especially during the holidays. Her mom's bakery at such an early age had been a big influence on her life and future. Her boss at the restaurant wrote her a reference for culinary school in New York. She has always been a smart and determined girl and she was accepted. She finished high school with excellent grades and at eighteen found herself moving away from Maple Creek and heading to New York by herself. Though she made one hard decision, to leave behind her high school boyfriend and choosing school over him.
She felt like she was living her dream in New York, she worked hard and enjoyed learning new things. She’d been a sheltered girl in her small world in Maple and she was experiencing life in different and exciting ways. Finding herself being a little more rebellious than she’d ever been and enjoying being young.
After cookery school, Sadie pursued a life in New York as a chef, though the busy life didn’t feel like her. She missed her life in Maple Creek and she missed her family. Her goal was to one day run her own business and she found the opportunity back in her childhood home. When her grandfather sadly past away, she inherited some money which she put into an old building overlooking Maple Creek. She now owns and runs the Rooftop Cafe and focuses on her passion of cooking. Sadie is a focused but bubbly young woman and can sometimes be self-centred, but she is sweet and tries her best to be a good person. Despite her moments of being bossy and slightly selfish, she is known to be very caring and kind-hearted. She usually means well and the people around her know that. She is now 30 years old and is running a steady business.
She loves her home and is not a fan of changes in Maple. Sadie was only a teen when the fire happened at the camp and she has been suspicious of it ever since.

The Cairns have lived on the Island for decades and Jonah grew up in a busy and close knit family. From a very young age helped and worked on his parents’ farm. The outdoor life was normal for him and that has never changed. Even into his adult life, he spends time fishing, hiking, playing sports and he often helps out on his parents farm. He spent his childhood on the farm, his twenties running the camp and he now owns his store. He is content and he has many close friends in his local community. After high school Jonah didn’t really have a plan. He’d never really thought about college, instead, he did odd jobs around the Island. He’s confident and charming and he feels at ease around people. Though when his grandfather sadly passed when Jonah was 25 years old, he left his land to him and Jonah decided to build the summer camp. He employed local teens, often during the summer before they left for college and ran classes, clubs, sports and outdoor activities for locals and for kids from the mainland. Despite having so much, being surrounded by friends and family and being so busy, Jonah has never really settled down in his adult life. He worked, he looked after his friends and family and that was always enough for him. He enjoys harmless flirting but he is aware he isn’t getting any younger. However, tragedy struck ten years ago when a fire killed one of the teens in the camp. The event happening under his watch… pushed Jonah even further alone. And his guilt has saddened him and hung around him greatly over the last decade. He loves his camp, he loves Maple Creek and he struggles with his guilt of hurting the place he loves and of that young man who lost his life. Jonah doesn’t know what went wrong or how it was started but he feels like he should’ve been there to stop it. Despite the fire, the camp still ran for ten years until the recent sale. Though after the fire, Jonah had stricter rules, he was not going to let anything happen again. He owns a hiking and sporting goods store which is his main source of income now he’s not at the summer camp and he enjoys chatting with the locals and the visitors who come to see the Islands beautiful views. In general, he is a cheery and carefree man, though he worries greatly about his friends and family. He’s an easy-going guy, though his caring personality means he naturally takes on other people’s problems and he feels a lot. He is a kind-hearted and selfless man and he often puts other people before himself. Though the offers he received on the camp grounds were temping and Jonah ended up selling, needing a fresh start from the place. Part of him wanted to leave it behind him but he still feels guilt.

Introducing Mishti Basu
Character full name: Mishti Basu
Age: 40
Gender: Cis woman
Pronouns: She/her
Occupation: Doctor - General Practise
Neighbourhood: Pine Falls
Face claim: Tiya Sircar
Biography:
tw; accident
Born in Arlington, texas Mishti was born into a large family. The family moved to Maple Creek when Mish was fifteen and she attended high school in the town for the remainder of her school career. Mish was always studious and she took studying extremely seriously. Living in a small town she was close to the other teens in maple Creek and had many friends among the cohort. Mish was always something of an ‘inbetweener’ and although she never ran with any crowd in particular she was known by most people. Always wanting to study medicine after school, Mish attended a number of different extra curricular activities. She also worked part time at the local bookstore as a teenager.
Mish was close growing up to her siblings and they are now spread across the country, although they always came home to Maple Creek for holidays and vacations.
Mish got into Harvard with a full scholarship, her parents were incredibly proud and she has always cared a lot about what they thought. This didn’t stop her having a whirlwind romance in her early thirties. Living in the city, Mish met what she thought was the man of her dreams. The couple had six passionate months before eventually they split amiably. They realised pretty fast that they had got married before they even knew eachother.
Mish chose emergency medicine as her speciality but after a tragic incident she was certain that it wasn’t for her anymore. It was after this incident she made the decision to train in general practise. When the job in maple creek came up it seemed like a perfect opportunity. She’s taking over from an old retired doctor who knew most of his patients by name. She’s finding it challenging but is enjoying being back in what she considers to be the town of her childhood.
Mish grew up in the jets, but moving home she didn’t want to move back to close to her parents. She has purchased a home in Pine Falls. It’s definitely a ‘fixer upper’ with unpainted walls, furniture from the 70′s and squeaky floor boards. She’s got a lot to do… but she always did enjoy a project.
