what do you think Harry’s relationship was with Nadine?

Thanks for the ask and sorry for the delay. Like any girl in the 1D years Nadine Leopold was hated at the time and abused by directioners. I think it was casual and clearly a set up by Jeff who was always around. Even shippers of them only have them together for 3 weeks nearly evenly spread over 9 weeks. There doesn't seem to be bad feeling between them, he performed with her and her friends at the VS show in 2017.

Harry followed her on Twitter on August 21 2014, 1D was on tour and a lot happened before they were seen together which gives context:

1989 and JALBOYH were released and Taylor's RS article where she implied her (new) publicist (Tree) told her dating (H) isn't a good idea came out. The heart eyes AMAs are here too.

Harry raised the Hiatus with 1D at the Band Aid on 15 November and the band was actively falling apart and it was definitely time to prepare for solo Harry.

Then on 19 November Harry and Taylor go to The 1975's concert together and then Taylor sees them again without Harry. This is the start/basis of Maylor shippery.

Harry and Nadine were first seen the next week, 28 November 2014 at a Fleetwood Mac concert. Harry arrived back from Australia that morning and had what looked like a double date set up with Jeff and Glenne. The same day they went to Nice Guy in LA, also with Jeff and Glenne, maybe before or after the concert. He flew to London the next day, as did Taylor.

But then nothing happened for 3 weeks, during which 1D, Harry & Taylor were in London. Harry and Taylor were seen dancing together, being friendly and left the VS show 5 minutes apart and on 9 December 2014 a seemingly intoxicated Liam made a beard joke at Harry's expense on TV. Harry returned to NYC for 5 days (17 - 21st December) (he stayed at the Bowery) and was then was seen at Jeff and Glenne's in NYC where Nadine was with them, including the 1D SNL afterparty and gallery visit.

The classic Nadine photos were when he wore her purple fluffy coat she posted to Instagram earlier and H got mad at Paparazzi on (Jeff's?) suburban street in NYC, then she disappeared for another 3 weeks, during which Taylor said Harry would interrupt her wedding:

On 2 January 2015 and not seen till the 6th. In that time Taylor posted lyrics from Clean which Harry repeated a year later. On the 6th, Harry went to Shamrock Tattoo where Nadine had her birthdate tattooed. There was a rumour he got 'NL' tattooed, but it was never seen so I think not. Also no photos of him there as far as I know.

On 7 January Harry filled his car with Balloons and went to Craigs for Nadine's birthday, they also went to Cafe Habana with Jeff and Glenne 7 January. Then she again disappeared for 2 weeks during which Harry saw Taylor at Caleb Followill's birthday. During this time Taylor posted some snarky things including the Temper Trap lyrics kitchen and Haim Bikini Hawaii photos.

On 22 January they got Fro-yo together and Harry drove, this is the only time they were seen together without Jeff.

1 February - Nadine attended Harry's 21st birthday, (the only photo of them together is the one with her behind Beckham) there were media reports of PDA, though no photos of PDA or sources. (note Camille liked her post about Glenne's birthday) 6 months later, Harry was rumoured to hook up with Sara, the girl she is with in the photo at his party. Overall it does not seem his connection to Nadine was deep.

They were last seen a few days later 4 February at Go Greek on the way to the airport for the OTRA tour.. with Jeff. Harry was in Australia and Nadine in the US until the break up announced.

It was announced they broke up 10 march 2015, there were two stories both that Nadine ended it:

because she was 'too busy', and

she was worried he was cheating

There is a quote that I can only find on Tumblr 6 January 2016 attributed to her (in a german interview?) ""He's a really great human with a really big heart [...] We both have extreme careers, and we're doing our own things [...] What happened or didn't happen in the past stays between us." - Nadine while asked about Harry."

In a 'reality' show she said she received death threats and another model says they 'dated for a minute' Nadine doesn't say his name. (2018 Model Squad, x) it seems scripted, but whatever:

Xander - Nadine may have introduced Harry to Xander and Maxwell Ritz who he is still friends with (Maxwell at least). Xander appeared in Nadine's Snapchat in September 2014, Harry followed Xander in December 2014.

"This is one of those songs that just stumbles out of you because it needs to come out. I don't know if any single experience inspired it, more like a release of different things I had been feeling at the time.

I just remember sitting in my home studio feeling kind of frustrated, pent up, and a little sad to be honest. I had come up with the opening riff and it was like a spark and the rest came together before I knew it, and most of the guitar and vocals you hear on the track were recorded that same night.

With that being said there wasn't much thought put into a planned theme at the time of writing it, but I think everyone can relate to the feeling of losing your mind alone with your emotions and intrusive thoughts.

A sleep schedule where ninja naps don’t attack me? I kid. A cure for my CRPS. That’s it. I don’t need the other two wishes. I miss being able to open doors and stand for long periods of time. I miss my old self. While I enjoy my wheelchair accessories and I can use my cane as a weapon... Just take my CRPS back. It’s painful and the medication is cutting my lifespan. There was so much I wanted to do. With time and energy, I might get to do some of them. I wanted to travel. I wanted to do something fun for a job. It doesn’t need to be a flashy career. It just has to be something where I don’t wake up and regret it. Like I actually miss customer service? Mostly because I worked in shoes and the kid’s department... And I’m so tired of having pain hold me back from doing what I want to do. I don’t need all the wishes. I can have all I want on my own if my CRPS goes way. Geeze what a downer answer.

“So you’re not letting me go then?”

You place the knife down and look at him. “I told you no Ezequiel.”

“Ugh, you’re so lame.” He yells, “Why can’t you be fun like Tia Chelle?”

“You always used to have my back and used to be fun. Now you’re always on my case about every little thing, it’s annoying.” He snaps.

You’re in disbelief and hurt at his choice of words, you don’t know what to say to him so you stay quiet.

But soon there’s a slam of a door coming from your home office and Jack is marching into the kitchen.

“Repeat what you just said.” He tells your son.

“Dad-“

Jack shakes his head, “Now I know you didn’t just say that to your mother, my wife” he warns, glaring at Ezequiel.

“Bubs it’s okay.” You try to calm him down.

“No it’s not okay, I didn’t raise him to be disrespectful towards you.” He shakes his head looking at EZ.

“How many times do we have to remind you that you’re grounded huh?” He takes a deep breath. “You’re grounded so that means no to going outside, but you can walk that ass upstairs to your room.”

“Dad wh-“

“I don’t want to hear another word from you right now. Go upstairs and before bed, I’m expecting a sincere apology to your mother.” He looks directly at his son. “I can’t believe the words that came out of your mouth.”

Ezequiel is defeated and walks out of the kitchen without another word.

“You okay baby?” Jack asks you, hugging you to him.

“Yeah, I’m just surprised that’s all.” You whisper.

“He’s a teenage boy, he’s going to say hurtful things, it’s not an excuse but it’s part of life. I’ll be there to set his ass straight all the time.”

You nod but don’t say anything, still a little shaken up from the words your son just said to you

“Hey, look at me.” Jack demands. “You’re the best mom our kids could ever ask for or need. Do not let what our angry sixteen year old son said get to you, because he couldn’t be more wrong.”

“He’s never been so angry with me before.”

“He’s going to have to get used to hearing no, he’s not doing well in school so until he changes that, it’s to school, practice and back home.” He lifts you up and sets you down on the counter.

You nod, “Thank you baby.”

“For what?”

“For defending me like that, it’s always hot when you get mad, your nose doing that flaring thing I like.” You shrug and wink at him. “It was so hot.”

Jack smirks. “Mhmm.” He spreads your thighs. “Let’s make him regret speaking to you that way.”

You lift up your dress, and pull it up to your chest. “Get to it papi.”

23 November, both Harry, Taylor and Kendall at AMAs, gold dress. Kendall PDA reported by media but there is no record of it. That's a fair sign that it was PR.

25 November - Midnight Memories released

6 December - Harry leaves Kendalls hotel and they have breakfast. Lunch the next day NY. Harry is carrying notebooks and dressed that same as in the Spotify visual for Where Do Broken Hearts Go. Tabloids say not dating Kendall and he is texting Daisy Lowe.

15 December - One Direction performs Midnight Memories on Xfactor UK Final and Harry arrives at Kendalls London hotel at 2am. This is a really odd sighting because he was seen with Ed and Taylor 2 days later.

17 December - Harry, Ed and Taylor spotted together in Suffolk.

14 January - Last time Harry and Taylor are seen at the same place till 2021 is Lily Aldridge's birthday.

17 January - Taylor shares photo of her kitchen with framed Temper Trap lyrics on her stove. Again they broke up before his birthday. :( Harry tweets that "This bucket hat might be the best purchase we've made in years." Cara and Kendall retweet that and the Cake? Rumour they bought a hat. 2016

1 January Yachtgate, but they seemingly broke up immediately after if they were dating. Before this they had started the year with Yachtgate, then there was gossip that the Harry didn’t want to be in KUWTK. So Hendall ended sometime between 6 - 21 January 2016.

21 January - Harry had a birthday party in London on the 21st where a stylist slept over at his house and I think that was the end of hendall if it was not already over. Kendall flew from LA to Paris the same day, so could have been there but didn't.

23 January - They were both at Jeff’s birthday on 23 January, but arrived and left separately, the Bonne Nuit is probably also a reference to her returning from Paris (and not going to his birthday in London) Kendall is wearing a Big o' Fur (Pop tart??) and leaves alone.

24 January - Harry had a birthday party in LA and Kendall not mentioned. Then she disappears for months.

Haven’t played the 2nd AI game but thought I would make this meme based off the fact that people are getting mad about it having “woke” content. Uchikoshi has been an ally from the get go.

Punch Line: A bit iffier, but can easily be seen in a transmasculine context. You can tell Uchikoshi/the people behind it did their best to be respectful about the subject matter and treated it in a serious way/did not play it for laughs. There is a lot of weird stuff/fanservice in Punch Line, so go into it with caution.

World’s End Club/Death March Club: When asked on an AMA on reddit if there were any LGBQT+ character in WEC, he stated he never really thought about it but encouraged everyone to interrupt characters as they like.

AI series: one of the characters (Mizuki? I think) gives on speech on how she admires the LGBQT+ community, and then double down on it in the 2nd game saying she wants to protect them and anyone else who is looked down for being who they are.

Late Stage Swiftgron Part 1

Update from November 2021 - I really don’t believe much of this is meaningful at all.  I don’t think they’re sitting around referencing one another on social media or anything but some of Dianna’s interactions with Karlie are interesting Dianna shows up explicitly in Taylor’s life a couple more times so I’m leaving these sections here.;

From here on out everything but the 2014 AMAs and Dianna’s somewhat shocking appearance at Taylor’s 2019 SNL performance are just odd social media shenanigans (or subtweets) between the two, and Taylor appearing to release at least one more song about Dianna (Babe in 2018) (and let’s be honest you can make a strong argument for The 1 being about Dianna as well other post 1989 songs.)

Some of this might be complete crack or coincidence but as you all know I want this to be the most thorough Swiftgron document possible.  

If anything it proves they both certainly still have similar interests and they really do seem to be in touch.

There are some interactions claimed by others to be Swiftgron related that I’m not going to include because they’re just a bit too reachy for me (though I completely support the theorizing!) but in general, if I personally can see the hint of a Swiftgron connection, I’m going to include it here. Draw your own conclusions and take everything, particularly the alleged subtweets/social media shenanigans, with a grain of salt.

And yes there’s tons of Kaylor and other Gaylor/Gaygron content that will be left out of this segment because this masterpost is focused on Swiftgron.  Someday it would be cool to make a giant masterpost/timeline that documents all of it, but for now it’s just going to be Swiftgron stuff. August 26, 2014 - Dianna tweets, and then deletes “Withdrawals, clearly…we had fun.” 

There’s no screen shot of this tweet but some retweets/responses of it remain:

If Dianna is indeed referencing the song Clean (in which their relationship is compared to an addiction hence, “withdrawals” from it) then Taylor would have had to give her advanced knowledge of the song since 1989 did not come out until October 2014.

Taylor did claim she ran 1989 by the muse that inspired it and they were both in LA in late August 2014. Maybe this is when.

November 19, 2014 - The 2014 AMAs Kaylorgron Explosion Extravaganza:

Taylor, Karlie, and Dianna are at the event.  Taylor and Karlie are clearly on a date and Dianna is there to present Sam Smith’s performance of I’m not the only one.  Dianna seems a bit out of her element/gloomy when interviewed on the red carpet and Taylor flexes Karlie hard, dancing with her throughout the night and even sitting on her lap during an interview.

December 28, 2014 - The writer for the tv show The Originals, Carina Mackenzie, tweeted that 1989 was about Dianna:

It’s of course notable that someone in the industry is “confirming” Swiftgron on main (particularly before gaylor went mainstream with Kaylor being so obvious in 2015/2016) however what’s even more interesting and notable about this tweet is that an actor named Michael Trevino was on the show The Originals and he dated Jenna Ushkowitz from 2011-2014.

Not only that but Michael was at Dianna’s 26th birthday when Taylor was in attendance as well.

It’s possible that Michael witnessed Swiftgron in real life and spilled a bit to the writer of the TV show he was on.

January 5, 2015 - Taylor likes a Swiftgron related post on Tumblr of Dianna saying she’d go on the road with Taylor and carry her bags at the Giffoni Film Festival in 2012:

February 13, 2015 - The Kaylor “Best Friends” on a road trip Vogue Spread comes out.  You’re probably familiar with it but if you aren’t google it.  It’s incredibly romantic and pda filled.

The Style music video is released on this day as well.

We don’t have to go through the whole video but one egg I just have to note is the cave pictured in the MV is in Morocco the same country Dianna seemed to flee to after Swiftgron was outed:

February 14, 2015 - Dianna tweets 143 remember those days (for some reason it has not been deleted) seemingly in response to the Kaylor vogue shoot:

143 is a code that means “I love you” that originated from Mister Rogers.  Both Taylor and Dianna have publicly shown that they are fans of his.  Taylor has even made certain songs 3 minutes and 41 seconds long seemingly referring to this number and wore a Mister Rogers pin on a jacket for a photoshoot once.

Here’s a bit more in depth analysis on the significance of the 143 post.

This tweet is how we know that it is 100% in Dianna’s character to occasionally subtweet Taylor and why a lot of this social media analysis has been done.  

February 16, 2015 - Just two days later Dianna attends a fashion show in which Karlie walks and is noted to “have kept a smirk on her face” during.  Dianna doesn’t clap at the end of the show and looks miserable in photos of the event:

February 17, 2015 - Taylor releases Wonderland

I’m going to pause here and discuss the song Wonderland for a brief moment because it is some of the most incredibly airtight evidence for Swiftgron available.

Dianna’s favorite book of all time is Alice in Wonderland.  She brought it up in interviews all the time, tweeted about it, auctioned off a signed copy of it for charity, her private Tumblr and instagram account are called whosirmesir which is a reference to it, her private Tumblr is filled with reblogs about Alice, and her public Tumblr was called fell down the rabbit hole.

So the fact that Taylor writes an entire song describing a relationship through the lens of and packing full of references to Alice in Wonderland is incredibly interesting.

Let’s take a look at some of these lyrics:

Flashing lights and we, took a wrong turn and we Fell down the rabbit hole (literally Dianna’s tumblr name and url)

Didn't you flash your green eyes at me (Dianna is famous for her beautiful almost hypnotic green eyes and yes they are green)

Haven't you heard what becomes of curious minds (queer coded)

Too in love to think straight (queer coded)

But there were strangers watching And whispers turned to talking And talking turned to screams (seems to reference when they were outed) You searched the world for something else (Dianna very publicly went travelling around the world right after April 2013 when they seem to break up)

Taylor literally put Dianna’s Tumblr URL in the song.  Frankly I’m kind of shocked she released this song at all it is so obviously and clearly about Dianna.  Truly a Swiftgron anthem!

March 8, 2015 - Taylor posts Flamingos for her dad’s birthday:

The caption was “Happy Birthday, Dad. Thanks for all the unconditional love, sarcastic comments, and interesting Christmas presents.”

May 1, 2015 - Dianna posts a flamingo for her birthday (post is now deleted):

The caption was “This is 29. Spoiled rotten. Funny enough, at work they were painting the hallways white and the roses (hallway doors) red, then I actually went to Wonderland (@AliceUnderLdn) and came home to a surprise flamingo. Here we go. Another year around the sun…feeling lucky and loved and loved and lucky.”

Taylor also gave Emily, another rumored ex, a flamingo bandana for her birthday.  i also think it’s odd that Dianna mentions Wonderland specifically in the post.

January 15, 2016 - Dianna’s engagement to Winston is announced and Kaylors notice Taylor is liking sad posts on Tumblr including several posts related to Clean:

November 7, 2016 - Lorde’s birthday party where Kaylor is together in public for the last time for 20 months.

January 5, 2017 - Claire (who is still very close with Taylor) comments on one of Dianna’s Instagram posts):

March 2, 2017 - Dianna posts her James Dean inStyle UK photo to Instagram:

This is actually the second time she has posted this as a throwback photo.  She also posted it on February 4, 2016 with simply the caption “TBT” and did not include the “rebel without a clue” bit which is a reference to James Dean (Rebel Without a Cause). She’s never posted the same TBT photo twice before or after this (as of the writing of this post in October 2020).

It I may be permitted to go real far out on a limb here it’s almost as if she wanted people to connect that photo of her in the UK InStyle magazine to James Dean.  James Dean is of course the way Taylor describes her lover in the song Style.  

At any rate it’s very odd that it’s the only photo she’s posted twice whether it’s related to Taylor or not.

April 25, 2017 - Fans notice Dianna is having her script tattoo removed:

This is significant because a part of the tattoo was dedicated to Alice in Wonderland - it said “We’re all mad here” 

Tattoo removal is a years long process:

So it’s possible she started getting it removed around the time that Wonderland came out.

It’s also possible part of the tattoo was dedicated to Lea (the part that said “here I am”) so this whole removal situation is very interesting.

In 2019 she was still getting it removed and commented this at a Cafe Carlyle session:

"i was like i don't know i wanna explain all my tattoos or the one that i'm getting removed on my side...you know you're like...WHATEVER we're stopping we're moving on"

February 13, 2018 - Dianna attends the Carolina Herrera fashion show, so does Karlie. Dianna is introduced to Karlie by Derek Blasberg and very audibly calls Karlie “gorgeoouusss” as they meet.
