So my Internet betrayed me for a lot of last week, and as a result I spent a LOT of time cross stitching.
I finished two more color gradient logo patches, one for Gavin and one for Huxley. I need to do Damien but I’m iffy about the red gradient thread I have, we’ll see how it turns out.

Also I FINALLY finished the big blackwork Huxley

I LOVE how it turned out but good god this blackwork was making me go blurry eyed, I had to take a lot of breaks lol
I think Lasko is next!
(I’m also working on a HUGE project unrelated to Redacted, but I’ll share bits of that later)
#redacted asmr#redacted audio#redacted huxley#redacted lasko#redacted gavin#also if you look closely the blackwork pattern on Huxley is little tiny leaves#marisa stitches

Seating Arrangements
Not a sickfic, just Leo and Jon being silly and flirty, talking wedding prep 💕
--------------
"What are you doing?" Leo yawned, circling Jonah from behind and leaning in so he could press a kiss to his fiancé's temple. They had gone to bed around 8:30, but it was now a little over midnight and Jonah wasn't in bed when Leo rolled around in search of him. Instead he was sitting at their rarely used dining table, laptop open in front of him, only the kitchen lights illuminating the large room.
"Wedding," Jon answered, pushing his chair back slightly so he could loop an arm around Leo's waist and pull him to sit on his lap. The blonde beamed, leaning into the embrace and looking at the screen.
"What- What am I looking at...?"
Jon had pushed his free hand under Leo's shirt and was running his fingers up and down his spine, chin pressed to Leo's shoulder, "seating chart."
"Let them sit wherever, Jon," Leo rolled his eyes, letting out a huff, "who cares?"
"I care," his boyfriend pulled back an inch to glare at him, "I want everyone to enjoy themselves. Our guest list isn't long, so I asked for the smaller tables, so it'd look more proportional in the venue, but now it's a pain to puzzle who goes where."
Leo opened a big smile. He didn't have any idea why they couldn't just let people sit wherever they wanted, but God, he loved to see that manic, excited glint in Jon's eyes. He cared, so Leo cared.
"Alright, run it by me," he turned his attention to the screen, "what's the issue?"
"I don't want to create cliques," Jonah perked up considerably at Leo's interest, "you know damn well my family can be a little intimidating-"
"It's not really your whole family, just Jackie," Leo teased, but Jon continued as if he hadn't heard.
"so if I just let people sit wherever it'll be our shared friends in one side, my guests in the other, your guests in the other bubble... No conversation, no dancing, just judging."
Leo giggled, suddenly realizing this whole thing meant his nosy work colleagues who were always in stitches to know more about his life would be in the same vicinity as Jackie and Jasper and, oh god, Luke and Vin with heaps of champagne.
"Okay, uh-" Leo struggled to rein in the giggles, "you're mixing people up, I see it..." he squinted at the drawings with little names. It was a blank canvas with several little names organized in different circles, "You sat Dean and Claire together? Why? Wendy with the Monacellis, yeah- Uh, where did you put Angie?"
"With Luke and Bell," Jonah tapped the screen, "over here, with Marisa."
"Wouldn't it make more sense to put Angie in Jackie and Matteo's table- Oh, okay, you put my boss with your mom?"
"Mum might be scary, but she'll scare your boss straight into making you partner," Jonah grinned at him, "trust me."
"You're using your famous mom to impress my boss, real classy work for our wedding day, Banks," Leo rolled his eyes, "where did you put your dad...?"
"Over here, with the hospital people, they'll want to chat with him anyway," Jonah wrinkled his nose in distaste, clearly not enjoying the reputation his father had as "Hollywood's surgeon", but understanding he couldn't fight the fact, "Claire I sat with Dean because you said Dean's single, no...?"
"No, that's Chuck," Leo corrected and Jonah moved so he could access the mouse, shifting the seats around, "are you playing matchmaker as well as using the wedding to network people?"
"I'm trying to get people to talk," Jonah corrected, although he had an amused smile, "I like Claire, she could use a push."
"With Chuck," Leo rolled his eyes in disbelief, "yeah, alright. Might have more luck sitting her next to Max, he's single too."
"Max is gay, love," Jonah snorted, pulling back so he could laugh at Leo, "does your gaydar really not work!?"
"No, yours is just insane, I know for a fact Max is not gay. He talked about hook ups when we were at the cabin, with women. Besides, he was eyeing up Bella and Wendy."
Jonah raised his eyebrows, "bi then?" he seemed confused, "I saw the way he looks at Vince, not even you looked at him like that, back when you used to crush on the guy."
Leo felt a jab of smugness as jealousy colored Jonah's words, "awww, babe, you're jealous?"
"I'm not jealous," Jon insisted, lying through his teeth, "I just don't see what you thought was sooo hot about Vince, he's just tall."
"And large and sweet and with the best curly hair and God, have you seEn hiS smILE-EEh," Leo started to laugh as Jon's expression got all cloudy, a frown taking its place, and he tried to shove the blonde off his lap, "the guy's dream-IEY!" he fell on his ass on the ground, still chuckling, as Jonah crossed his arms.
"Not funny-" Jon scoffed, then clicked around with his mouse and Leo used Jonah's knee so he could look at the screen, then let out a cackle.
"You moved Vin's table out of the venue?!" Leo pressed his face to Jonah's thigh, still sitting on the ground and laughing, "baby, don't be ridiculous-"
"Yeah, keep up with these jokes and see if I won't uninvite him entirely-"
"You're so so silly," Leo smiled from ear to ear, then grabbed the legs of Jonah's chair, giving it a good pull so it moved with his fiancé still sat. Leo moved, slotting himself between his boyfriend's legs, leaning in and pressing a kiss to the top of Jonah's stomach, over his silky pajama shirt, "so silly," he trailed his kisses down, fingers rolling on the waistband of his pants, "you have nothing to worry about, Banks."

𝐁𝐑𝐎𝐊𝐄𝐍 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐌𝐈𝐒𝐄𝐒, 𝐑𝐔𝐈𝐍𝐄𝐃 𝐏𝐋𝐀𝐍𝐒

𝐒𝐂𝐄𝐍𝐀𝐑𝐈𝐎 After meeting Johnny after your breakup, you can't help the butterflies that flutter in your stomach. But he's not yours to touch anymore.
𝐖𝐀𝐑𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐒 angst, mentions of cheating
𝐏𝐀𝐈𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐆 Johnny Depp x gn! reader
𝐑𝐄𝐐𝐔𝐄𝐒𝐓 ✔ I was listening to Depois by Marisa Monte (and crying over it) and I thought... What if the reader and Johnny meet each other years after a breakup/divorce? Like, they still love each other but can't be together (maybe because Johnny moved on with someone else). Are you feeling it too? Let me know what you think.
You were at an award show for actors and actresses, movie producers, just anyone in the movie industry. You were up for an award for best leading actor.
You were just sticking around until it actually started, sipping a glass of champagne, when- from across the room- you locked eyes with your ex-lover, Johnny Depp.
You have him a shy smile, your heartbeat quickening as memories of your past flashed in your mind. Every gentle touch, every affirmative word, every promise you two never got to keep.
On the opposite end, Johnny felt a pull to go talk to you. He watched the way you hair fell, the way your eyes seemed to captivate him and lure him away, like a siren's call
He made his way over to you, wearing his best confidence. "(Y/N)." He acknowledged, giving you a once over. "You look beautiful tonight." He whispered, his voice soft, just as it was all those years ago.
"I could say the same about you." You whispered back, taking note of all his features that you loved so dearly.
"I've missed you all these years, you know." He whispered to you, voice tender and affectionate, and you could almost imagine him reaching out and touching your face.
Just then, a female voice interrupted your soft exchange. "There you are, Johnny. I was looking everywhere." She whispered, immediately taking his arm in her hands. "Who's your friend here?" She asked before giving him an affectionate kiss.
Your heart broke.
"Oh, I was just leaving." You said, suddenly feeling out of place here. You hadn't even planned on seeing him here, and yet he'd found a way to cut open the stitches you'd put on your heart, sealing your relationship away.
Johnny thought about going after you for a moment, maybe in an attempt to salvage the relationship he had with you, as he saw your silhouette disappear. But he had a new relationship to focus on, as evident by the shiny rock on his girl's finger.
"They're nobody, sweetheart." He whispered to his fiancée, kissing her forehead.

ut2 spoilers below tha cut (+ spoilers for the ut2 mo4 mod)
i found my diehard concepts from before i changed a few of the characters around.. i made these really late at night so i forgot they existed!! oops!! this was back when i was toying around with the idea of empress bachikin taking on marisas role, i picked them based off of the dialogue for each diehard:
the one i changed the most was DH5 (adukin), giving her stitched-open eyes (toriels eyes weren't closed, after all!), scarring, and unnaturally bent legs to resemble goat ones, though DH2 (fukurou) does also have some changes from the original, notably her torn off hands with long wires coming out of them, and her pome-tail :3 i wanted DH5 to really, like, look like it was done without marisa(or, in this case, bachikin) seeing until seriph had already ruined her.. BUT now bachikin and adukin get to be jinx and punchbuggy so yay 4 yuri

When Jane Birkin first inspired the creation of what would become the most iconic handbag in the world, few could have imagined just how legendary it would grow to be. Yet decades later, her original black leather Hermès Birkin—personalized with stickers from humanitarian organizations—has shattered expectations, selling for an astounding $10.1 million. The historic sale, conducted by Sotheby’s, now holds the world record for the most valuable handbag ever sold at auction. More than a coveted accessory, this bag captured global attention not only for its staggering price tag but also for the layered history it carries. It stands as a rare artifact of fashion and fame—one that embodies cultural elegance, timeless scarcity, and a legacy far beyond celebrity. A Chance Encounter That Created an Icon Actress Jane Birkin’s original “Birkin” handbag was sold with a seven-figure price tag at an auction in Paris, even with all of the wear-and-tear. pic.twitter.com/5ye1fuZuHd — USA TODAY (@USATODAY) July 11, 2025 The story of the Jane Birkin bag begins in 1983, high above the clouds on a flight from Paris to London. Jane Birkin, the British-born actress and singer famed for her roles in French cinema classics like Blow-Up and La Piscine, was carrying her signature straw basket when a chance encounter changed fashion history. Seated beside her was Jean-Louis Dumas, then the CEO of Hermès. As the two struck up a conversation following her straw bag in the overhead compartment spilling its contents on the floor, Birkin casually lamented the lack of handbags that were both stylish and practical for young mothers like herself. Inspired, Dumas grabbed an airline sick bag and began sketching. His impromptu design, a spacious leather holdall with refined stitching and a distinctive flap, would become the prototype for what is now the world’s most iconic handbag: the Hermès Birkin. A symbol of craftsmanship, exclusivity, and quiet luxury, it all began with a moment of serendipity at 30,000 feet in the air. In 1984, Hermès presented Jane with the prototype, asking for her permission to name the new model in her honor. From Functional to Coveted: The Rise of the Jane Birkin Bag The original Jane Birkin bag quickly evolved from a practical carryall into a global fashion status symbol. As author Marisa Meltzer aptly described it, the Birkin became “an accidental icon.” Once Jane was photographed carrying the bag in public, demand soared. Yet, owning one is far from straightforward. For starters, Hermès famously restricts access. Birkins are not available online, and walking into a boutique doesn’t guarantee you’ll leave with one. Instead, potential buyers are often added to elusive waiting lists, with final approval resting entirely with in-store sales associates. This deliberate scarcity, paired with an air of mystery, has only fueled the Birkin’s appeal, transforming it into a coveted symbol among fashion’s elite. Typically, a Birkin (without exotic leather) sells for anywhere from $20,000 to $30,000 at retail. On the secondary market, however, prices can soar well into six figures, depending on color, material, and rarity. The recent $10.1 million sale of Jane Birkin’s original, sticker-covered bag is now the ultimate proof of just how legendary this handbag has become. Not Just a Bag, But a Statement Photo: Brendan McDermid/Reuters Though she inspired its creation, Jane Birkin eventually distanced herself from the bag that bears her name. She often found the Birkin too heavy, once telling the BBC in a 2017 interview that she preferred to “fill [her] pockets like a man.” Still, Hermès gifted her several over the years. And in true Birkin fashion, she found a meaningful way to repurpose them, turning high fashion into a tool for philanthropy. Instead of keeping them locked away, Birkin sold many of her handbags, including the original, to support humanitarian causes. The recently auctioned bag, in fact, was first sold in 1994 to benefit a French AIDS charity. “Jane famously adorned it with stickers supporting Médecins du Monde and UNICEF,” Sotheby’s noted. In doing so, she transformed what many see as the ultimate status symbol into a visual emblem of activism and compassion. The Jane Birkin Bag, A Timeless Legacy Jane Birkin passed away in 2023 at the age of 76, following a stroke two years earlier. Yet her legacy endures—not only in film and music, but in the fashion world that still reveres the Jane Birkin bag. “I never considered myself a fashion icon… We just wore exactly what we wanted,” she once told The Believer magazine. That effortless authenticity is precisely what made her style so iconic. Though she never sought luxury for its own sake, Birkin’s name became inseparable from one of fashion’s most coveted pieces. Now, with her original Hermès bag fetching $10.1 million at auction, her influence is cemented in history, not just as a symbol of style, but as a lasting embodiment of culture, creativity, and quiet rebellion. A Cultural Milestone Jane Birkin with the first Birkin in 1990. | Photo: Gilles Leimdorfer/AFP via Getty Images The sale of Jane Birkin’s personal handbag marks a cultural milestone. More than just a luxury accessory, the Jane Birkin bag sits at the intersection of art, fashion, and social meaning. Born from a casual in-flight conversation and elevated through decades of reverence and rarity, it has transcended its status as an object. It is now a legacy, etched in leather. From high-fashion runways to humanitarian causes, Jane Birkin’s imprint remains unmistakable. And now, with the record-breaking sale of her original bag, the mythos of the Birkin has been etched even deeper into the fabric of fashion history. So the blackwork on Huxley was starting to make me go a little insane, so I took a little break to work on something else.
I decided it would be interesting to stitch the smaller patch sized logo patterns with some of the gradient floss that I have. So here we have a finished Lasko patch.

The variegated floss looks SO COOL, it makes it so much more visually interesting than just a solid color.
I cut it out and sewed some black felt onto the back and I think it makes a nice little patch!! Really want to do the others now to go with it.
#redacted asmr#redacted audio#redacted lasko#it’s nearly 3 AM but I HAD to finish this once I started#marisa stitches

THE JEWEL BOX: THROUGH FIVE EYES
1. Marisa, the Glass Artist from Murano
I know how fire dances. I know how light refracts through centuries-old glass, catching whispers of secrets from Venice’s salt-stained air. When I stepped into Liora Atelier, it wasn’t just a jewelry shop—it was a conversation between craft and soul. The first piece I noticed was a necklace: a cascade of emerald teardrops stitched into gold filigree that mimicked Venetian lace. No factory-born polish. No mass-market glare. Just intent. Every gem told a tale, as if the designer had dipped into dreams rather than catalogs.
In Murano, we value the imperfect—wavy lines, unbalanced curves—because they remind us that human hands made them. Liora gets that. Their pieces breathe. There’s no overkill in their opulence, only poetry.
I left with a brooch shaped like a blown-glass gondola. Not because I needed it—but because it felt like it needed me.
2. Tashi, the Tribal Jewelry Seller from Nagaland
Where I come from, jewelry isn’t just worn—it’s inherited in spirit. A mother’s beads are a daughter’s protection. A warrior’s pendant carries his victories. When I walked into Liora Atelier on my first journey outside Northeast India, I expected cold showcases and staff who wouldn’t meet my eye. But the shop smelled like cedar and silence. A man named Eli greeted me—not with salesmanship, but with curiosity.
He asked where my arm cuffs came from. I told him about the Konyak blacksmiths, about burning firewood until metal sings. His eyes lit up. “Come,” he said, leading me to a corner where he kept his rawest pieces—rings cast in recycled bronze, earrings with tribal motifs, unpolished garnets.
One piece caught my breath: a cuff etched with the story of a Japanese mountain goddess. I traced it with my thumb. I didn’t need to buy it. But Eli said, “I think it’s always been yours.”
At that moment, I believed him.
3. Margaux, the Retired Ballet Dancer from Paris
My toes remember every pirouette. My ankles, the ache of thirty years in pointe shoes. When I retired, I swore I’d never chase beauty again. But then I stumbled into Liora Atelier, almost by accident, while searching for a tailor.
The shop felt theatrical. Not in the gaudy way—but like a stage before curtain rise. Lighting soft. Display cases minimal. Jewelry placed not to impress, but to seduce the senses. I hovered near a pair of earrings shaped like swans—one black, one white, their necks arching into question marks. So delicate, they could shatter under breath.
The owner noticed me. “Ah,” he said, “these remind me of Le Lac des Cygnes.” Swan Lake. My signature role.
I tried them on. They didn’t sparkle—they spoke. About rebirth, duality, letting go. Jewelry should not just decorate. It should dance with your history.
And just like that, I pirouetted back into beauty—without pain.
4. Daichi, the Startup Founder in Tokyo
I build things with code. Logic, architecture, data. Clean lines. Predictability. But I’m also obsessed with disruption—when a product breaks patterns, when a design refuses to obey its category. Liora Atelier is that kind of place.
I found it during a business trip to Barcelona. It looked unassuming: no flashy signage, no algorithmically-optimized Instagram reels. Just a brass door with a sigil carved into it. Inside, it felt like stepping into a conceptual lab—not a boutique. The layout was modular. You could touch things. See their inner mechanics. One ring had an adjustable clasp system that allowed it to morph shape depending on the wearer’s mood. It used pressure-sensitive alloy, sourced from Finnish scientists.
I asked the shopkeeper, “Who designed this?”
He said, “A 19-year-old from Johannesburg who used to be a watchmaker.”
I bought five pieces. Not for resale. Not for love. For curiosity.
5. Suren, the Gemstone Diver from Sri Lanka
The ocean keeps secrets. I’ve spent years diving off the coast of Ratnapura, hunting for sapphires in riverbeds and underwater caverns. The earth is stingy with its treasures—so I’ve learned to tell which hands deserve them.
Liora Atelier—I heard whispers about it in a port bar. A collector from Cairo said they handled stones like they knew their grief. I was skeptical. Most shops polish away the stone’s story, then bury it under design.
But Liora did something radical: they listened.
A sapphire on display still had part of its matrix stone attached. A lesser shop would’ve shaved it off. But here, it was framed—like a birthmark. A provenance. They even labeled it with its mine coordinates, diving depth, and the diver’s name. Mine.
I hadn’t sold that gem. But I remembered it. I felt…found.
So I left with nothing bought. Just the confirmation that somewhere in the world, someone understood the weight of origin.
Epilogue: The Invisible Thread
Five lives. Five paths. One destination.
What makes Liora Atelier the best jewelry shop isn’t scale, sparkle, or press features. It’s that it refuses to be a "shop." It’s a mirror for those who enter. For some, it offers nostalgia. For others, reinvention. It doesn’t shout, “Look at this!” It whispers, “What do you see?”
Each piece, whether carved from moonstone or memory, refuses to be generic. Like the artisans it uplifts—refugee silversmiths from Damascus, blind beadworkers from Oaxaca, indigenous gold panners from Bolivia—each item arrives with a pulse.
In a world choked by sameness, Liora doesn’t mass-produce. It mass-awakens.

from marisawhite.com ...
"Marisa S White is an award-winning artist best known for seamlessly stitching multiple photographs together, weaving personal narratives through surreal and fantastical imagery. The use of surrealism in her work transcends mere dreamscapes; serving to hyperbolize emotions and experiences that aren’t always easy to put into words.
Raised in Houston, Texas, Marisa would often wander the galleries of The Menil Collection, mesmerized by the works of René Magritte, Giorgio de Chirico and Max Ernst, opening her eyes and imagination to new possibilities. She spent the next several years painting clouds on everything.
Originally a drawing and painting major, Marisa passion for photography blossomed during her college years resulting in a series of mixed media collages..."

Unveiling my massive 2024 cross stitch project
I’m doing a daily temperature cross stitch. But not just any daily temperature cross stitch. This incredible potion bottle daily temperature cross stitch from TeenyWeenyXStitch on Etsy

Each shelf is one month and individual potion bottle is one day, and the color corresponds to the high temperature that day. It’s the last day of January and I managed to catch up despite a late start.

This thing is HUGE. I’m doing it on smaller count fabric (I usually do 14 stitches/inch, I’m doing 18) and even then the finished size is going to be about 10x16.5 inches.

Im gonna update here every month to help me keep up momentum and not abandon it halfway thru the year. I’m excited to see the colors change as the seasons change (even tho this January here already covered 4 of my 7 color ranges. It’s been a wild one.)
#marisa speaks#marisa stitches#fun fact I only got all the materials a few days ago#and it’s been a mad 3 day dash to try and catch up so I’m not behind#now that I’m caught up it’s gonna be much more chill lol

I didn't even question why a Touhou character would have ofuda stitched into her blouse, and then I realized that was Marisa and "those" was actually Suika's wine-gourd.
Also skimming through a lotus eater chapter because I thought it was there I uh misinterpreted this panel badly
