Inktober - Day 9: Grown Up

We wanted to go to a little park for some outside time. We’ve been so tired today and have just been couch potatoes. When we pulled up to the little wooded loop by our house I remarked, “There’s a man pissing on that tree.”

“There’s a piss man?” My beloved asked in distress.

“A piss man,” I confirmed. “Do you want to go elsewhere?”

“Hmm,” they said noncommittally.

When we got out of the car a few things instantly clarified. The vibes were rancid, there was two guys smoking pot, blasting metal music, and they’d just peed on a very nice tree who was probably aghast that something other than a dog or raccoon was urinating on it.

It’s a tiny park and there would be no avoiding them, no corner would be untouched by their music blasting or their smoke hanging in the still air. They’d quite literally markerd their territory. I quietly asked my wife if they’d like to leave and they nodded.

We looped around to a different park and listened to the sky exploding, smelling the wafts of gun powder as the sun set once more on Americas independence day.

it really annoys me how fuckboys always like, hold rhe idea of map markers as "dumbing down" like... its a good thing?? not having map markerd is outdated and we all know it and so do you, especially eith even larger game worlds

i mean honestly anything that they perceive as making the game easier will always be bad in some way to them because it allows them to feel like they’re better than people who want to have those features

so it’s not like they actually care about map markers wrt game design, it’s about how they wanna use it as an excuse to feel like they have some worth
