2. do you prefer spending your holidays in your country or travel abroad? 

I want to see to the whole world, so abroad!

14. do you enjoy your country’s cinema and/or TV?

Yes, a lot, especially the older classic cinema and television, they’re top notch. I was kinda disappointed in most modern cinema (too pretentious) and tv (too dumb), but some nice initiatives these later years give me hope:)

15. a saying, joke, or hermetic meme that only people from your country will get?

OH.GOD. They’re so many! We love our dictums, our popular sayings and especially our memetic quotes from tv or old movies! They’re so numerous and so funny I think I will have to do a separate post sometime. But for example…

-NO MORE COAL! (Όχι άλλο κάρβουνο!) - It’s from an older movie, where a sailor relates in court how a ship was sunk,because they didn’t stop stuffing coal in the furnaces. We use it when we just!can’t! about something, or think something is too much/has been talked or done to death.

- Well I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but we have a nice atmosphere here,really… (Λοιπόν δεν ξέρω αν το προσέξατε, αλλά είμαστε μια ωραία ατμόσφαιρα είμαστε…) - Older classic movie again, an awkward family affair. When the atmosphere is decidedly NOT nice XD

-This lady here is THE BADDEST BITCH of greek tv, Nteni Markora from “Dyo Ksenoi” (Δυό Ξένοι,Two Strangers). Everything that comes out of her high class mouth is memetic. In the gif she calls someone “a cross between a badger and an anteater”. But her greatest IMO quote, and quite often used by yours truly is:

“Once upon a time we hid ourselves from the Communists,now we ask them to hide us. Christ! What decadence!”

No. People joke about the accent of my region, but my native city actually speaks the “clearest” Greek next to Athens.

Ha, Greeks have quite the acidic wit. We mostly joke about whoever we have history or contemporary issues with so, we joke about Turks,Albanians, Germans (these later years especially we joke ALOT about them), Americans, Brits…but I don’t think we joke about anyone as much as about ourselves XD

Guess what. I got excited. Here are all children in a massive-crossover sims 3 game. To quote Kevin Malone, “Oh yeah.”

So there’s no actual plot, but the concept is that they kinda became roommates “by force” *wink* it was me *wink* and have to find ways to coexist.

Konstantinos Markoras and Marina Kountouratou are apparently the most “mature” of the couples, so they agreed to take in the three teens (Daenerys Targaryen looks like the series but is the age of the books, Bella Swan and Edward Cullen both made after the books exclusively, so that’s how I always imagined them everyone. They’re literally babies). So Konstantinos and Marina kind of raise all three of them in the main building out of the three that are in the lot. Jim Halpert and Pam Beesly are best friends, and that’s it. For now. Although there were some hints... But yeah. They live in the second building along with Elsa of Arendelle WHO I HAVEN’T ADDED YET, each one on separate rooms (as the three young-adult singles, I guess). Jackson Avery and April Kepner are actually happily married for once, and they are living together in the first floor of the third building, and on the second floor will live no other than Eugene Fitzherbert and Rapunzel of Corona (yes, Corona) WHO I HAVEN’T ADDED YET EITHER (second floor cause, RAPUNZEL, LET DOWN YOUR HAIR has got to happen at some point).

They all were all pretty reluctant about living together, CAUSE JESUS, so many different personalities. But they get along pretty well, turns out. They have even formed groups according to their interests. So we have the Finer Things Club, for example, taken directly out of the Office (basically a book club) and its members are currently Bella, Pam, April, Konstantinos and Marina. Then there’s the Violent Delights Club (basically a band) where Edward plays the piano obviously, Jim the guitar (because of the life stimulation episode, and the guitar in his room. It’s canon okay?) and then with Jackson and Daenerys I just improvised cause they looked like those fitted them better. Then there are spot teams, or movie clubs and stuff like that, and also Konstantinos is tutoring Dany because she’s literally a child prodigy and he is having the time of his life.

So far, I’ve made copies of Jim, Japril, Bella and Edward’s bedrooms from the series/movie, and I’ve designed Pam’s from scratch cause I didn’t feel like the new york dorm was very her, you know? But I’ll go ahead and make everyone else’s rooms also.

First thing Pam draw in her canvas? You guessed it, it was Jim. Also Dany got herself a dragon egg yeah just one, sue me she’s keeping it by the pond and it’s about to hatch, and the young lady is about to explode with anticipation. April has a hen pen in the yard, and she just bred her first chickens (that she owns exclusively) and her poor heart is so full right now, Jackson thinks it’s adorable.

Yeah I haven’t done a lot of stuff with them yet, I’m just working on their rooms for the time being tbh. But I’m so proud of this game so far.

What are some comedic/ funny cultural jokes that happen Greece (kinda like what are some popular memes or sayings \\ like how in the US we say vine references as jokes)?

Omg I was hoping to get this question!! We are very in touch with US memes and we use American memes and sayings very often. About Greek memes, we mostly make them out of Greek classic series and trashy shows. 

We have a show with a host called Anita Pania and “every nut from all kinds of nut trees” (aka weird people) go there. Appearances there include:

the “Star of Sage”  

the “Just Love” man 

the woman who passionately sung “Cobra, you are a Cobra!” 

and many more.

The face of Anita while watching people like these talk is priceless!

There is another show («Ευτυχείτε») with Katerina Kainouriou as hostess. It’s famous for women calling to have their problems solved. These stories are usually crazy scenarios like “I am pregnant and the father of the child is the father of my husband” etc. We make fun of those stories and also with the crazy astrologist, Mara Meimaridi, who tries to help those women. She is a scammer and delusional but her shade is epic!

We have videos from the Greek Big Brother show, where people had breakdowns about nothing. It’s truly a treasure of trash <3

Peggy Karra, a completely talentless individual with a dream to become a famous actress. She constantly tries to grasp leading roles at various plays, especially ancient ones. (She brought Antigone and The Bacchae back to fashion with her trashy acting!) SHE IS THE WOMAN FROM MY BANNER :D

In the nick of time / Sto Para Pente (Στο Παρά Πέντε)

Zoumboulia "Zoumbi". When in danger, she often resorts to religion and when agitated, she emits a high-pitched "iiiii" sound, slaps her lap and sometimes faints. (Υοu can hear the iiiii in these compilations! (Link1) (Link2) )

Theopoula. A grandma suffering from senility due to multiple strokes, she has flashes of astounding insight and lucidity and does the craziest things. She hates her daughter-in-law for being short. Her most famous phrase is “Can sex ever be stopped???” while hitting drums.

Other stuff: 

We have the category of memes “Ancient memes” where we put captions on ancient art and art pieces from all over the world.

The phrase “Good afternoon” was established to mean “sex” after the host of a PG-13 afternoon show shockingly said “good afternoon!” every time something sexual was on the screen.

You know how English people say “I need this advice for a friend, not me” or “My friend has this problem, not me”. We do it too and we are self concious about it, so we make fun of ourselves by saying “I don’t have this problem, a cousin from the village, you dont know her”

We are making fun of boomers who believe conspiracy theories and don’t know how to spell. (Iliteracy is a real problem. What we are making fun of is the confidence to post “scientific” nonsense) We immitate them by saying "the government sprays us with chemicals, the earth is flat1!one!1" with bad orthography.

In Greece there was a recent Saint/Prophet, (minor) St. Paisios. He had said something along the lines of “It will be like you live in peace but you won’t live in peace”. And so we take that phrase and alter it to fit the circumstances. For example, “It will be like Friday, but it won’t be really like Friday” - and we put an image of Paisios next to the quote :P

That’s the basic ones. Greeks have a rich (meme) culture so I couldn’t include everything. I will probably add more in reblogs later!
