Challenge #04274-K256: Second Time Around
I've been around for 200 years. As my old body grew weak and often ill, I saved everything I could and, with help from my mentor, got a new one. I still have a ton to learn. But the most important thing? I'm not as useless as I thought I was.
https://peakd.com/fiction/@internutter/challenge-04196-k178-contractually-obligated-self-maintenance -- Anon Guest
Of all the universal truths, the biggest one I had to accept is, You can't learn everything in one lifetime. After a literal lifetime of training with Master Twii, there was still more to learn, more to do. More to improve.
...all so I never felt useless...
The B'Nari are always enthusiastic about helping people live their wanted lifespans. I chose organic rather than artificial. Artificial seems... kind of like cheating. My second life was a lot better. I didn't start with the same impediments that I had in my first life.

Challenge #04196-K178: Contractually Obligated Self-Maintenance
You asked for the harshest training I can give you so you can grow stronger? Are you sure about this? I would say it'll be hell, but I'd be lying. You'll have to look UP if you want to see hell. -- Anon Guest
Part One: Sleep Schedule.
Up at four in the morning no matter the season. Bullied into bathroom, bathing, and breakfast in that order. Then off to a brisk run over a set obstacle course as fast as possible. With your teacher close behind. By the way, that course changes randomly, so don't get complacent.
Press-ups. Pull ups. Going on the oblique machine. Going on the rowing machine. Then another piping-hot shower before a thorough massage to be sure all those muscles work the next morning.
You're going to work all sixteen hours you're awake.

Challenge #04354-K336: Proof of Might
Why do you keep insisting on picking on these havenworlders? Do my students need to kick your tail a second time? -- Anon Guest
Master Twii tended to keep their dojos in the Edge Territories. It was where they were needed most. It was where one could easily find cogniscents 'proving' their strength by beating up smaller and weaker ones.
To Master Twii, it only proved that they wasted their strength on bullying. To Master Twii, people like that needed some kharmic realignment.
Of course, it couldn't be the master that taught bullies a short, sharp lesson in manners. It had to be their former victims. So they started teaching. Simple lessons. How to fall without being hurt. How to regain solid footing. How to stand to reduce being toppled.

Challenge #04097-K079: Help in All Forms
Several humans, in their early teens, had been Master Twii's students. Having graduated from Twii's classes as they entered their late 20's, now went to a Gyiik temple. Their goal? To learn to cook as well as the Gyiiks and the portions they cooked. These humans wanted to start an all-around service where not only did they physically protect others, but also made sure no one ever went hungry. -- Anon Guest
There's one advantage that Gyiik's have as Heavyworlders[1] inside their impressive kitchens. Alongside being able to adapt to other environments, they also have four arms. Two for gathering, they say, and two for giving.
Most of the known universe does not share this blessing.
If anyone could match them in the kitchens, it had to be Humans. Simply because they were the kind to match, if not outperform, any other given species in the Alliance or out of it. These ones arrived in pairs, and bowed to the head chef with one fist pressed into the other palm.

Challenge #04074-K056: Zen and the Art of Learning
Several students of Twii have opened their own dojos to help teach that which they'd learned from their sensei. Twii decides to visit to inspect the dojos, and see how lessons are coming along.
https://peakd.com/fiction/@internutter/challenge-02669-g112-the-immortal-master -- Anon Guest
A good education is like a virus. It's pretty much designed to spread. Knowledge shared is strength that unites both teacher and student. And if the teacher is really good, they're willing to learn from the student.
Thus, Master Twii traveled to other Dojos, to see what ze could learn there.
It took a long time to see all of them, but that was all right. Twii had all the time in the universe, after all. Ze didn't just see hir students, but hir students' students. Not everyone chose the form of immortality Twii had.

Challenge #04320-K302: Patient Persistence
They were constantly putting themselves down. Despite Master Twii's best efforts, and that of therapists, they held a very poor view of themselves. Then they met another like them, a person Twii introduced them to. And the two began the fight to convince each other, that they were better than how they viewed themselves. -- Fighting Fit
Confidence is a cunning beast that runs and hides when it is needed most. Either you had it on a leash, or were forever chasing it down to try and tame it. The Immortal Master Twii thought about adding those metaphors to their book of thoughts and introspections.
How to teach someone to grow and nurture their confidence -when it was barely detectable- was the problem that had Twii's priority. Thoughts and introspections could wait.
Aurl had come so far, yet ze kept comparing hirself to much more advanced students and, of course, Master Twii. Ze kept hir past self with hir at all times, never acknowledging how much ze'd grown as a person. Part of hir was always just emerging from the not-so-secret hold of the freighter ze'd stowed away on. A rather large part, in fact.

Challenge #03089-H181: One Confounding Morning in an Off-beat Security Office
The time Havenworlders trained in a dojo run by humans, defeated and imprisoned a human who was a pirate. They delivered the pirate to the other humans, who were, to say the least, rather impressed! -- Anon Guest
A large number of things are inadvisable to the boundary of impossibility. A number of other things are inadvisable - like telling a Human what's impossible. Humans tend to take these things as a challenge, and there is inevitably fallout as a consequence. Current in the list of impossible things, to Security Officer Lun's mind, was, you can't teach Havenworlders to succesfully defend themselves from Deathworlders. He should have known. In an infinite universe, nothing is impossible[1].
Three beaming Havenworlders escorted a float pallet full of bound and gagged Human to the admission's desk. They were Ledopteri and, by all accounts, should have been easily squished by a Human. Nevertheless, this was real as verified by the securicams and not an elaborate hologram. "We are here to collect the reward," said the spokesbug, wings flared and talons proudly displayed.
"Dangerous pirate," said their second, who had steered the float pallet. "Much Time offered."

Challenge #03454-I166: A Test of Character
A person came to meet Twii. They had a lot to talk to them about, but both individuals were wary. Twii wanted to see what KIND of person they are, so, the two fought, briefly. Before sitting to talk, Twii stated, "Sorry about that. But you'd be surprised at how much you learn about a person by fighting them." -- Anon Guest
[AN: Just attacking someone out of the blue makes ZERO sense for: (a) a master of the martial arts, (b) someone who believes in Two Kind Hands, (c) someone who has canonically adopted a bunch of kids because they had nowhere else to live, and (d) Master Twii. This prompt is BEYOND out of character. So I am going to test this newcomer in other ways.]
"I need to know all about fighting," said the stranger. She had come to Twii whilst the Immortal Master was out grocery shopping. "They say you're the person to speak to."
Twii looked her over. Fighting fit, as some might say. Standing a little too close for comfort, and not even saying excuse me to begin the conversation. Too many red flags in one basket. "Wait for me in ZYL Gardens Eat, please. I must finish my duties."
A huff of a sigh, but she obeyed. It was all in the attitude. The hunched stance as she punched up the location. The lowered brow as she looked up the transit links. The muttered, "Fine," in lieu of a farewell. She would definitely be weighed in the balance with that one task. Whether or not she would be found wanting... Twii could wait and see.

Challenge #03370-I082: To Break the Cycle
The CRC hires Sensei Twii to write out new guidelines to help protect everyone at stations, since Twii so succinctly pointed out the flaws in the current plans. Twii works with them in tandem to make it easier for people to defend themselves, and offers to help the security staff by having them join the dojos, as some of his former students now, themselves, become teachers.
https://peakd.com/fiction/@internutter/challenge-03322-i034-for-every-action -- DaniAndShali
Footage played across several screens. It was not the footage of Master Twii's students. Instead of that, it was footage of other, unpoliced incidents. Deathworlders menacing Havenworlders for whatever they could get. Larger cogniscents looming over smaller ones to get their way. Victims following the Five Step Plan and getting their asses handed to them.
None of the footage looped around to where it started.
"One Standard Year[1]," said Master Twii. "Forty-eight stations. Countless injuries and near-death incidents by cogniscents who followed the currently-accepted Five Step Plan. Equally countless aggressors who escape consequences by being transient populations. This Alliance needs better."

Challenge #03322-I034: For Every Action
Master Twii hears of how well his students are fairing, and sees the footage of them defending themselves from deadly pirates.
https://peakd.com/fiction/@internutter/challenge-03089-h181-one-confounding-morning-in-an-off-beat-security-office -- Anon Guest
It was perfect. A textbook example of how to use oneself as a fulcrum in combination with the enemy's impetus. The enemy, in this case a burly Human with too much ego and not enough brains, had a stunning revelation on the way through the furniture.
Judging solely by the look on their face, they were expecting to browbeat those little bugs into handing over their lunch money. They were evidently shocked and awed by what they actually got.
Master Twii sipped aromatic tea as ze watched. "Good for them," ze said.

Challenge #03259-H350: Rememberance
The sad remains of the old ship was found, and only ONE other life pod of survivors. This one had a few teens, and two surviving adults. None of the other pods managed to jettison before the ship shuddered and blew apart. The bodies of all the dead were gathered, families kept together as much as possible if they were able to find out who belonged to which family, and the funeral was solemn. The other life pod's survivors were brought to the station to meet with Master Twii and the children, and learn about the world around them, and get proper care and therapy for their trauma.
https://peakd.com/fiction/@internutter/challenge-03222-h313-necessary-adjustments -- Fighting Fit
The wreck was almost like a Deregger ship made by the lowest bidders, in that it was amazing that the entire thing wasn't made of ductape[1] and cardboard. It was the greatest loss of life in Alliance History since a planetary polity refused to believe that their sun was going nova[2].
Only one other group survived. A life pod with older children and two rather small adults. All of whom now had a lifelong fear of enclosed spaces.
Twii moved their Dojo to a nearby planet so they didn't have to fret about split-second emergencies where the kids were far from a sleep niche[3]. You couldn't depressurise a planet, after all. And since it was a Havenworld, very little could harm them.
