How would Lin react to mattcasey?

Hmmm... honestly I think this is a difficult question because it all depends on how? Like what situation that would ever occur in? If Lin never died in the first place everything would be too different to really get into it.

Lin never knew Matt, it's not like she would have any preconcieved notions of him. On top of that, we have to factor in the imbalance between Lin and Casey's life experiences up until that point.

To Casey, Lin was someone she looked up to, wanted to be like, who attempted to teach her to drive, had a crush on, and was the first person she saw die. To Lin? She was someone she knew for a few months, and liked a lot, but would Casey have had that same impact on her life? I very much doubt it.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that if Lin suddenly appeared in 2022 rather than being there all along, I'm not sure "that kid I knew who is now grown up" and "that kid I knew who is now grown up's boyfriend" would factor that high on Lin's list of interests. She'd probably be just like... uh.... ok good for you?!

That's not me saying Lin is careless or anything like that. Like I say, she liked Casey a lot and my answer could be pretty different if I had a wider story for how she lived past SR1. But she had her own life and aside from the actual events of her death I'm just not sure I see Casey as a main character in that.

Chicago Fire Season 10 - Things I want to see

* First and Foremost, I really want to see Kelly come out of that water unscathed or at the most slightly injured.

- If he is injured and has to be taken to the hospital, I hope we see a parallel to the 4x02 scene of Med were He said “I’m so glad you’re back.”

- If he is unscathed, then I’d like to see a parallel to 6x12 or 7x08, where Stella hugs him and tells him that he scared her half to death or something like that, then maybe he could reply with “I told you that wasn’t how was gonna go” (8x04 Parallel)

* Next, I want to see a Stellaride Wedding or Pregnancy at some point. Although, we know most main character pregnancies never last or go well. 😭 So, maybe I’ll just hope for the wedding.

* Third, I want to see a season of no angst for Brettsey. Just like them be happy together and make it similar to how Season 8 was for Stellaride.

* Fourth, Stella as freaking Lieutenant of Truck 81. For that to happen, Boden would have to be promoted, as well as Casey. Now, from the sounds of it in the finale, Boden could still easily be a frequent recurring character on the show if he’s promoted. Which is what I hope happens, and then Casey can become chief, and Stella could take over as Lieutenant. Maybe even Severide could get his first promotion of the show, and be promoted to Captain. Captain Severide does have a pretty nice ring to it.

* Fifth, Cruz escapes the premiere unharmed and is there when Chloe has the baby.

* Sixth, That baby better be named Brian or something that is a tribute to Otis.

* Seventh, Gallo and Ritter to have more funny moments and storylines.

* Eighth, Hermann needs more screen time next season for sure. I feel like we rarely seen him this season.

* Ninth, More Trudy and Mouch.

* Tenth, More Stella, Brett, and Violet.

* Eleventh, an appearance of Cindy.

* Twelfth, Violet and Gallo together.

* Lastly, NO STELLARIDE DRAMA OR ANGST. After that cliffhanger and angst at the beginning of Season 9, they deserve to be happy, in love, and married once and for all.

Goodbye Casey!

I don't have the right words to say.

I was worried, I didn't think that Jesse would have been able to leave CF, but that happened.

Is a goodbye? Is a see you soon? Jesse told us that there's still hope, so I'm going to trust him again. But that doesn't mean I'm not worried for Sylvie, for brettsey (a long distance relationship how much time can survive in a TV show?) and for his return too.

I don't blame the authors, I think they did they best they could considering Jesse's demands. But I think they threw away time in season 9 that could be used differently, in a more productive way.

So after 5 episode I have to say goodbye to my captain my ship, and maybe also my show.

I don't know what to do yet, but I think I might leave sooner. I'll watch the next few episodes because there's still a phone conversation with Matt, but I think we have lost him.

Thanks Capt Matt Casey for what have you done to the fans and to the show. Love you!

HOSTAGE

Pairing: Matt Casey x OC

TW: mentions of a gun, knife, and being held hostage

AN: This is a chapter from my book “Burning Desires” on Wattpad!

S K Y L A R C H A S E

As we pull up in front of the building, I can’t help the twisted feeling in my gut telling me that things were about to go horribly wrong.

Pushing those feelings down, I hop out of the truck, joining the others as we wait for instructions.

“Look like we’re dealing with a three storey building with a fire on the third floor.” Chief Boden estimates, squinting at the bank.

“Herrman and Chase search the second floor for any civilians. Kidd, Gallo and I will take the first floor. Ritter and Mouch get the house line ready.” Casey instructs.

“Seems like a routine procedure. Squad, let’s head up to the fire floor and see if we can find anyone there.” Severide orders, and we all jump into action.

Putting my helmet on, I follow Herrman as he leads the way.

The two of us work together, looking through the rooms for any civilians but it was practically a ghost town.

“Where the hell are they?” Herrman asks. The hallway was filling up with smoke, reducing our visibility and making it harder for us to see.

What were we missing?

Before I could even comprehend what was happening, I hear Herrman yell from a few rooms down.

“Herrman!” I call out, running further down the hall. I enter into the room, the colour draining out of my face when I see why he yelled.

Herrman was being held at knifepoint.

He turns the gun to me, aiming it directly at my forehead.

“One wrong move and I’ll kill him.” He threatens, pushing the knife closer to his neck.

With the gun aimed at me and a knife under Herrmans throat, I swallow hard as he locks the door behind us.

“Take your radio off.” He orders, but I refuse to listen.

Waving the gun he snaps, “Now!”

I slip it off, holding it in my hand. “Throw it in the corner.”

He orders, and I obey, throwing beside the hostages.

I take a look at the row of people against the wall. I counted 12 people, all with tape on their mouths and fear in their eyes.

We were in a hostage situation.

“You need to let them go.” I say, trying to hide the waver in my voice.

He scoffs, “Like hell.”

I take a deep breath. “There’s a fire on floor 3. Multiple firefighters are inside this building, looking for them.” I explain, pointing at the row of people.

“Truck 81, status.” Chief Bodens voice orders through the radio.

“Let these people go.” I say more firmly this time.

He pushes the knife closer to Herrman’s throat. “And get the death sentence? No way.”

Herrman takes a shaky breath. “Look man, I have a wife and kids.”

“You're an idiot if you think I am letting you go!” He yells, quickly loosing his temper.

“Herrman, Chase, status.” Chief Boden repeats, more anxious than before.

He pulls Herrman by the hair. “No one’s going anywhere until I get my deal.”

“I can show you how to play your cards right. You want a deal right? Well I can tell you that you won’t get one if you have 10 hostages.”

He takes a minute, looking back at me and the hostages. I could see the worry growing in their eyes as the smoke began to cloud the room.

“Fine. They can go.” He nods, the gun still aimed at me.

I shake my head. “They can’t go alone. Let Herrman take them to safety.”

“Chase, what are you doing?” Herrmans voice cracks.

“Let these people go with Herrman and I’ll be your hostage.” I repeat more firmly, taking my helmet off.

"Fine by me." He agrees, shoving Herrman to the ground and quickly turns the gun on me. Grabbing me by my turnout coat, he pushes the gun to my temple, the metal feeling cold on my skin.

“Go Herrman. I’ll be fine.” I nod. Herrman takes one last look at me, an unreadable expression on his face.

“Go before I blow her brains out!” He yells, pushing the gun to my head.

Herrman helps up the hostages, ripping open the duct tape on their legs as this guy begins to look around frantically.

He runs a hand through his hair, coughing from the smoke. I let out a sigh of relief knowing that Herrman and the others were safe, but was also unsure about how I was going to get out of this one.

As I look around to see if the fire had spread, my eyes widened as I see my radio with a piece of duct tape on the button.

They could hear me.

“So what happens now?” He asks, getting more and more skittish by the second.

“You let the hostages go. Theyre coming down the the stairs with Herrman. This shows them that your willing to co-operate. They’re going to call the CPD and tell them we have a hostage situation. Guns and weaponry are involved. No one can leave or enter the building.” I say, relaying the information to Chief Boden.

The radio is silent for a few seconds.

“All units wrap up your search. I’ve just received intel that we are dealing with a hostage situation.” Chief Boden orders, and I sigh in relief.

He got the message.

you were clad in a little black dress, one of matts favourites it hugged your figure in all the right places. your hair in soft curls and just the right amount of makeup on.

you smile widely feeling his arms drape around your waist.

“thankyou” you say before turning around and pressing a quick kiss to his lips.

“where are you off?” he questions arms returning to there spot around your waist

“just going out with stella and sylvie, i thought i told you ealier?” you questioned tilting your head at your boyfriend, vaguely remembering telling him in his office earlier,

“you might have, sorry babe i must’ve forgot” he told you hugging ur body tighter

you laugh softly at his forgetfulness something you often tease him about.

“well i’m going now i told the girls id meet them at molly’s at 8 and it’s 7:55” you tell matt removing his arms from their spot

“do you really have to go?” matt questions you like a lost puppy

“yes, we’re celebrating”

“celebrating what?” he questions

“errr, sylvies single-ness” you stumble not quite knowing how to word it

“well have fun, but you better not be celebrating any single-ness” he jokes pulling you in for a final kiss

“i would never, i love you matt”

“goodbye” you tell him turning to walk out the door

“i love you too, be safe” he smiles as you walk out the door.

you arrive at molly’s quickly jumping out ur car and locking it aware of your lateness.

“there she is… only” stella looks down at her phone the screen lighting up “15 minutes late” she jokes

you hug both her and brett “sorry guys sorry” “you can blame matt” you tell them

“i don’t want to know” sylvie shakes her head in disgust jokingly

“second that” stella agrees

“nothing like that guys we were just talking, i promise” you laugh

“hmmm” stella mumbles

“right let’s go and find brett a man” you say which causes stella to let herrman know she’s leaving

“ahh taking away my favourite truck member before i even get to say hi” herrman jokes patting stella on the head

“sorry herrman stella just jealous i’m your favourite” you say blowing them both a kiss

stella laughs sarcastically and herrman just grins

“have fun you guys” he says gesturing to your group

“will do thankyou” sylvie smiles warmly at herrman

after saying your goodbyes stella and sylvie grab there bags and you head to the nearest club.

“i needed this thanks guys” sylvie says slamming her second shot down on the bar side before walking over to some guy she’s been giving the eyes to since you got in the bar

you and stella just laugh at her but keep and eye on her and you find a booth to sit in making sure sylvie knows where you will be if she needs you.

you take a seat stella following behind you engaging in conversation about her and kelly’s relationship making you smile and how happy stella is when she talks about him

“hows you and matt then?” stella questions

but before you can answer a tall figure makes his way over to your table

“james!!” you exclaim standing up to greet the man

“sorry stella this is james, my cousin” you tell her introducing the two

“hi i’m stella, y/ns friend” she greets him with a smile

“hey” he smiles back warmly

“you girls mind if i sit for a bit i have no clue where the guys have gone and will be nice to catch up” he suggests looking at you both

you look at stella making sure she was okay with it and she nods a smile still on her face

“of course you can james” you tell him gesturing for him to sit down

he sits down on your side of the booth and you all begin to talk, you and stella telling him about your relationships with matt and kelly too recent saves you’ve made, overall everyone was getting on really well.

so well that you all lost track of time only remembering when brett comes over

“guys i’m getting married!!” she exclaims

“no your not” you say laughing beofre telling james your goodbyes and setting off home.

you reach the door to yours and matts apartment fumbling for your keys not being able to wait to get ur heels off

you finally open the door and wonder i’m pulling ur heels off

you see the glow of the tv and the soft noise of voices coming from it, at first you assume matt fell asleep watching it due to the late time but that was quickly disproved when you saw him sat wide awake staring wide eyed at his phone dozens of empty beer bottles surrounding him.

“matt?” you question making him aware of ur presence

“didn’t think you would be home tonight” he sarcastically laughs

“what’s that supposed to mean?” you question

“i just thought maybe one of the girls would take you home” he says putting ephimsis on girls

“matt your gonna have to explain what your on about and stop making rude comments” you say getting slightly annoyed now

“that club you were in, my old friend happend to be in who then sent me photos of you and some guy getting rather close going, ‘this your girl?’” he states showing you his phone

“matt are you serious” you laugh at the misunderstanding

“y/n it’s not funny, how could you?” he raises his voice

“nice to know how much you care about are relationship, and to think i was gonna ask you to marry me” he paces around

“w-what” you stutter not quite knowing what to say, matt was gonna ask to marry him or was that just the alcohol talking

“matt it was my cousin” you tell him stepping close

“your cousin?” he freezes looking up at you not quite believing you

“your fucking cousin” he repeats

“yes matt, my cousin james i haven’t seen him since he moved away he’s just got back in chicago after his extended collage

“promise” matt says looking at you

“i promise” you tell him locking eyes

“i’m sorry” he tells you

“it’s okay, let’s just go to bed” you tell

him walking away to get ready for bed thoughts racing around your mind, was matt really thinking about marrying him. that thought made you so happy you just hoped it was genuine.
