She turned on her heel, going the other way having decided to avoid them so her family's habit didn't take too much control over her. "Rufi, I do like you." She froze at their words, her eyes widening in shock. She looked at them startled, Jae scratching their cheek, looking somewhat embarrassed. "I don't have time for your jokes, Jae"Rufina scolds turning away. She set the box down by the trash and walked off only for a hand to grab her wrist.

"I'm not joking"Jae sighs turning her to face them. They sighed, working their mouth to find the right words. "I'm not into romantic relationships, but I want to be with you"Jae finally says. She blinked up at them, her mouth slightly opened. "So, can we have a platonic romantic relationship..."Jae asks staring down at her. She watched their expression, feeling their grip on her wrist tighten slightly. A sigh came from her followed by a small smile as she stared up at them. "Alright"Rufina smiled nodding. Jae smiled, their hand releasing her wrist. "Good, I wasn't planning letting you go till you said yes"Jae smiled nodding to her.

"Jae! Rufi!" Both turned at the others voices, then smiled at the other. "Should we tell the others?"Rufina asks getting a nod from Jae. The two jogged away, finding Max and the rest waiting for them. "Hey you two"Mischa greets waving to the two. "What's with the giddy smiles?"Jessa asks curiously. "We're together"Jae responds smiling down at Rufina. "Didn't you sa-"Brax begins. "It's a platonic romantic relationship, we're together but still friends"Jae explains lifting their hands. 2) Probably a bat shifter cause personally I think it would be fun to fly around in the woods etc which would be easier if you were a smaller animal (to avoid flying into trees... cough cough Brax) + like bats get fun wings and good hearing + I feel like it would be easy to hide and spy on people + ur a smaller target in battle but can still scratch peoples' eyes or whtv

3) Jae cause like come on... they are awesome and I think it would be fun to hang out with them + I want to give them a hug (platonically)

4) Elda redemption arc (it's been quite heavily hinted at and there could be some fun stuff with Elda and Terra helping each other with their magic), Brax's situation being fixed, more Jae and Hali (I headcannon that they are in a QPR but like regardless their dynamic is fun), It'd also be fun to see more of their parents/families (Brax and Maxs' father, Jae's family) also I want to know Santra's sister's name and what she ends up doing

Summary: Max proves to himself that he can be a good father.

Max never thought he would be a father, and even then, he wasn't sure he would ever want to be a father because of the example his own set for him.

It wasn't until he met you that he even thought of being a dad rather than a father.

With you, he pictured his whole life, which he said so when he proposed and then again in his vows at the altar.

He never made you feel different than yourself.

When you found out you were pregnant, you waited to tell Max because you wanted it to be cute and memorable for the first baby.

Max was ecstatic when you told him, but he just couldn't get his head around the fact that he could be a good and great dad, so he distanced himself from you for weeks.

It wasn't until Lando talked some sense into him that he talked to you.

Lando told him that even if Max screwed up, you were there to fix it. He also said that Max was great with you and your kid was half you, so he told him to connect with that half.

When Max told you about his fears, you just smiled and held his cheek, telling him that these fears were the first step in being a better father to their child, in being a dad.

Max smiled back and brought you into a hug.

Months had passed, and every time Max thought of a different fear, you were there to comfort them, and when he wouldn't listen to you, which wasn't often, but it did happen, you made him go to Lando or Charles, or both sometimes.

Your first encounter with Braxton hicks, Max freaked out, totally not ready, almost forgot you on his way to the hospital.

The second time, however, Max made sure you were the first in the car but forgot his keys and the bags.

The third time, everything was in the car and ready to go, just in case, but when you got to the hospital, Max realized he forgot to pack the bags; they were in the car, just empty, with nothing in them.

The next was actual contractions and not a false alarm, but Max had put the packed bags in the trunk of the car when it got closer to your due date after the third incident.

The keys to the vehicle were on the way to the car, and he didn't rush so much that he forgot everything, but enough that it was fast and that you were still the first thing in the car.

It was the moment he held his son that Max knew he would do anything to see this tiny human smile.

Both Finn and Julia finding out that they were almost born in the paddock

"Careful, darling, the medical car is coming in our direction", you urged Finn, pulling him and Julia out of the way so the car could drive smoothly through.

"Do they have a lot of things going on at races?", Finn asked, pointing to the people working in the medical center, "well, it depends on what happens. When there are accidents on track, they're the ones they go straight to! They always have their routine check ups, and drivers are not the only ones that need help", you chuckled, "see that lady there? The one with brown hair? She was the one that told me you were coming super soon and that I should go to the hospital", you smiled at the memory.

You had been lucky you were in Monaco. Really, it had been the only reason Max even allowed you to be in the paddock because he knew the hospital wasn't far away, and despite your insistence that you were fine, "they're Braxton-Hicks", you'd say as the pressure increased. You were walking up to the podium to see your husband lift his trophy when your water broke, one of the doctors noticing it and convincing you to let her check you out, "Y/N, you really have to go to the hospital, your baby boy might born here if you don't leave now!", she urged.

"Really?", he wondered, "yes. It was all fine - and you did take your sweet time after that, got us all worked up for nothing", you chuckled as you brushed his blonde hair away from his eyes, Julia looking up and listening to the story, "well, not nothing, but we didn't have to rush all that much. And you father didn't absolutely have to make uncle Daniel speed on the streets while making the horn on his car sound so people would let them through!".

Lucy home birth || 817 words (my first story)

Lucy was fixing herself supper in her kitchen as she felt her stomach tighten and contract

“Wha-? What's going on- OW OW” she cried as her stomach contracted and she felt her baby kick before the contraction stopped. She could feel the baby moving a lot today.

“Ohhh baby, its ok,” lucy said thinking she was just having braxton hicks

For the past week she felt her stomach was hanging lower than before, Lucy didn't think much of this and just thought nothing of it, infact, she had no idea it was even a sign of oncoming labour.

She felt another contraction as she was stirring her food.

“ow-OW-OW fuck jesus christ 2 in the same hour??”

Holding her stomach, she dropped down to a squat to grab something from the lowest shelf on the pantry. That's when it happened, she felt a contraction followed by a gush of fluids between her legs. She groaned at the pain.

“No no no NO NO NOT NOW OH GODDD” she yelped as her stomach contracted and she felt the pressure of her baby pushing down on her cervix, trying to fit into her tight hole. She felt the baby squirm inside her as it tried to move further down. She beared down under the pressure using the shelf as support.

When her contraction was over she hurried over to her bed, heart racing. She knew she was in labor and her baby was coming, and it was coming fast. Another contraction rippled through her and she grabbed her belly and moaned out in pain. It was so bad, the pressure, the contractions, her baby squirming, everything hurt and she wanted to die.

She layed in her bed crying and gritting her teeth with every contraction. She thought the pain couldn't get any worse, then she felt she HAD to push.

Lucy held her legs and bore down as hard as she could. She cried and winced at the pain. She felt the baby going further down into vagina. She felt she would be torn open.
