Your Star Spangled Plan (Steve Rogers x Female!Reader)
This Was Made As a Part of Halloweek!
Female!Reader picks out an appropriate costume to match her Star Spangled man.
Genre(s): Fluff
Warnings: None!
Word Count: 684
»━━━━ ⋆⋅Ѽ⋅⋆ ━━━━«
“Are you sure it’s not weird that I’m wearing my uniform to the party?” Steve asked from the bathroom where he was changing. You had suggested, nay, insisted that he wear his Captain America suit to the Halloween party tonight.
“It’s not weird,” You replied, slipping on your own costume as he changed into his. He had to go in his suit so that the two of you matched, but he didn’t know that. “Tony wears his suit every year, Strange will probably just wear his cloak, if he shows up, and I doubt Natasha will even dress up,” you point out.
You looked into the floor length mirror that hung on one wall and fixed the blue hat you had pinned to your head. See, a couple months ago you had seen a recording of The Star Spangled Man With a Plan and decided that one of the chorus girls would be the perfect outfit to match with your boyfriend, so that was exactly what you had chosen.
You had a blue V-neck tank-top with lapels that followed the V and showed off your cleavage. On the lapels were a couple of silver stars. The skirt was high waisted and very short with red and white stripes to mimic the rest of the American flag. What finished up the outfit was the accessories beyond the dress; the white gloves that went up just beyond your elbows, the little blue hat, and the silver heels.
“Can I come out, love, or are you still changing?” Steve asked, having finished putting on his costume. Even though he had seen you naked or changing a million times before, he was ever the gentleman, never wanting to just walk in on you.
“I just finished,” you replied as you slipped on your heels.
The bathroom door opened and you quickly assumed position, with one knee slightly up, your weight in one hip and your hand on that hip, with your other hand up in a salute, your back arched slightly, and your face sporting a rockstar smile. Steve walked out in his suit and froze as he saw you.
“Wow… haven’t seen that costume in over seventy years,” he said as he looked over at you. He remembered taping the notes with his monologue to the inside of his shield, and yet those girls always had all their lines down instantly. “You look good though, you look great,” he quickly clarified.
“Well, I don’t think I would survive being a real chorus girl, but I’m glad you like it,” you said, walking over to him. You made your steps slower and more deliberate, swaying your hips a bit like a supermodel or (hopefully) a chorus girl.
“I think you could’ve made it,” Steve said, his arm snaking around your waist as he led you out of the bedroom. Steve hated being late to things, and while you had kind of been hoping he would decide to skip the party all together once he saw your getup, you figured that teasing him all night might be more fun anyway.
“Are you kidding?” You laughed and shook your head. “I can’t hold a tune to save my life, let alone do all that choreography,” you stated.
He shrugged. “Neither could some of those girls, but they had the legs for it so they mouthed the words and smiled on stage,” he told you casually. “And you…” his gaze went downwards, ocean blue eyes running down your leg to your silvery heel and then back up to the hem of your skirt. “You’ve got the legs for it.”
You laughed and nudged him, unsure if he was being serious or not. But, by the look on his face, you had a feeling that he was. “Did you ever do anything with any of those chorus girls with the great legs?” You teased, not jealous at all because it was decades ago.
Steve chuckled and shook his head, opening the car door for you and kissing your cheek as you passed him. “No, but I might’ve if they’d looked like you,”

How To Halloween (Natasha x Reader)
This Was Made As a Part of Halloweek!
Gn!Reader shares their Halloween traditions with Natasha.
Genre(s): Pure Fluff
Warnings: Mentions of knifes, mentions of guts (pumpkin guts though)
Word Count: 2308 I got a bit carried away with this one
⊱————- Ѽ ————-⊰
Some of the things you loved doing with Natasha were the things she wasn’t the best at or the most knowledgeable in. There was no doubting the fact that Natasha was a very intelligent and impressive woman; well versed in politics, history, culture, the arts. But there was something that one couldn’t replace with readings: a childhood.
You could remember when Natasha confided in you about her past, and you remembered feeling ridiculous because even though you were crying, she wasn’t. And it was her story, her life. Though, you supposed that just meant she had more experience dealing with it.
Still, from that day forward, you had made a silent promise to yourself that you would teach her how to enjoy some of the more childish things. And there was no better time for that than Halloween. Of course, Halloween could be a mature Holiday, the Starks always threw a massive party, and there was drinking, and dancing, and everything you would expect from a party thrown by Tony Stark, but you wanted to show Natasha the things you had done as a kid on Halloween.
You had the whole day planned out. You had started with pumpkin spice lattes and pumpkin shaped pancakes for breakfast, you had even put chocolate chips in the shape of the eyes and mouth for a jack-o-lantern. Then you sat down to watch Halloween movies. When you told Natasha that she had originally thought you meant Horror movies, imagine her surprise when you put on Ghostbusters and Scooby-Doo instead of American Psycho.
You had finished your movie marathon and you had two pumpkins on the kitchen island. “Okay! So, do you know how to carve a pumpkin?” You asked her as you got out two kitchen knives.
“I think so,” Natasha replied, watching you with amusement written across her features.
“Oh,” you nodded a bit and set a knife on the counter in front of her.
“Why don’t you teach me anyway,” she suggested, having noticed that you deflated a little bit.
You perked up and nodded. “Okay! First you want to cut a hole in the top, not too big because you want to have plenty of space for your design, but you still want to be able to get your hand in comfortably,”
You cut a hole in the top of your pumpkin and then Natasha does the same, smiling at you all the while. “And now?” She asked as she set the knife down, already knowing the next step but wanting to hear your excitement as you explained it to her.
“Now comes the fun part! The guts,” You told her. You grabbed two pairs of latex gloves (you found a box of them in your laundry room and thought it best not to ask questions you may not like the answer to) and two large spoons. “You wanna scrape the insides with the spoons to loosen it all up, and then you want to pull it all out as best as you can. One bowl is for seeds,” you pointed at one of the two large mixing bowls in front of you, “the other is for the rest.”
She nodded as she took the top off of the pumpkin. She then slipped on the gloves and picked up the spoon, beginning your task. You grabbed your phone and connected it to your bluetooth speaker as she worked, playing your Halloween playlist before setting it aside and joining her in pulling out the guts.
“Why are we separating the seeds again, love?” Natasha asked as she dumped a handful of the seeds into the appropriate bowl in front of you.
“You stick some melted butter in that bowl, some salt, and I like to add a bit of sugar too, then you put it on a baking sheet in the oven for like, half an hour to an hour, and then we can snack on them,” you explained as you did the same as her, depositing a good amount of seeds into the bowl and smiling over at her.
She got a bit of a mischievous look on her face as she turned to you. “Baby, you’ve got a little something right…” she had her hand in a fist except for one finger as she raised it to your face, then she smirked devilishly and opened her hand to reveal a glob of pumpkin guts which she then smeared across your cheek, “there,” she completed her sentence.
Your mouth dropped open as you felt the cold, orange goop on your skin, offended and yet amused. “Romanoff!” You huffed, wiping it off with your gloved hand which just left a smear of orange on your cheek from your own pumpkin.
She laughed at your predicament, the one that she had put you in, and grabbed a paper towel, wiping off any pumpkin residue and then pressing a kiss onto your newly cleaned cheek. “Nat to the rescue,”
“Nat caused the problem,” you muttered as you turned back to your problem, your lips in a pout as you gave her a playful glare. You finished scooping out your pumpkin and she just watched, already finished but not wanting to move on to the next step without you.
“What’s next, my dear?” She asked like you were all buddy-buddy and she hadn’t just betrayed you with her pumpkin smearing ways. You looked over and the sweet smile on her face was too damn beautiful to be mad at.
Grumbling, you moved away from your pumpkin and slipped off your gloves, tossing them into the garbage can and watching as Natasha threw her pair in perfectly without even moving. You then opened a drawer and pulled out two sharpies. “Now we have to plan what we want to carve out, draw it before you cut it out,” you instructed her. “Since it’s your first time, you might want to go with something simple,” you added as a warning. She shrugged as she took the marker. “Probably a smart idea, but that wouldn’t be very impressive, now would it?” She winked at you.
As if she needed to be any more impressive than she already was.
“Well, it’s not a competition, but have at it,” you said as you approached your own pumpkin. Taking in the size and shape, you thought of what you might want to do, tapping the end of your sharpie against your chin. Meanwhile, Natasha had moved her pumpkin to the other side of the counter and had already started drawing, but was keeping it a surprise from you.
“You know, it’s not good to have secrets in a relationship,” you mused thoughtfully as you brought the tip of your sharpie to the skin of the pumpkin. You had selected the best side and now it was time for your design.
“I just want to surprise you,” Natasha replied with a chuckle, capping her marker and picking up her knife once again, seemingly ready to continue with her design.
“Well then I will be surprising you too!” You stated, also setting down your marker and picking up the knife. You were very careful with your design, not wanting to ruin it. And a silence fell between the two of you as you both worked, the only thing that permeated the air was the sound of Michael Jackon’s Thriller as it played through your speaker.
“Done!” You and Natasha declared at the same time, causing you both to smile.
“Turn around the pumpkins on a count of three?” You asked as you set your knife down and lay your hands on the cold surface of your carved pumpkin.
Natasha nodded. “Sure, 1…”
“2…” you continued, the anticipating building
“3!” You both said it in unison and spun your pumpkins around.
Her design was not the simple kind you had suggested to her. It was a beautiful spider's web, the spaces in between the webbing had been cut out and you could only imagine how cool it would look when you added the candle. Yours wasn’t a classic design either, it was a crescent moon on the bottom right corner with one large star and one smaller one on the face of it as well.
“Yours looks great, my dear,” Natasha told you, walking over and pressing a kiss onto your temple. “What’s next?” She asked.
You smiled, admiring her pumpkin for a second longer before looking over at her. “We stick the seeds in the oven and put on our costumes,” you informed her, excited to show her what you had picked.
So that’s what you did. Since you had two pumpkins you had needed a second baking sheet for all of the seeds, but soon enough they were in the oven. Natasha promised that any seeds that the two of you couldn’t eat she would bring to the Avengers who would devour them in seconds.
“You get changed in our room, I’ll get changed in the guest room,” you told her, wiping off your hands of any residual pumpkin goop.
She raised an eyebrow. “I’ve seen you naked before, I think we can change in the same room,” Natasha pointed out, doing the same and walking up to you.
But you skirted out of her grasp and shook your head. “Nope! I want to surprise you!” You insisted, walking backwards as you headed towards the guest room, careful not to run into any walls.
Natasha shook her head, her arms crossed over her chest. “What happened to not keeping secrets in a relationship?” She teased, referencing your earlier statement.
You just stuck your tongue out at her and turned, jogging to the guest bedroom. You already stashed your costume in the closet in a plastic bag so you pulled it down and lay everything out on the bed. Since you weren’t actually going out in the costume, it didn’t need to have shoes or be warm at all, which was good because your costume had neither of those things.
It was tight black shorts and a matching black t-shirt with a low V-neckline. You had originally been a bit unsure, but you thought it was fitting as a sort-of mimic to Natasha’s Black Widow costume. Around your hips was a belt with a holster for a fake gun on one side and two sets of fake knives on the other. You thought you looked pretty badass as well as smoking hot, you were sure Natasha was going to love it.
But as you walked into the kitchen to check on how the seeds were doing in the oven, you realized you were way outmatched when it came to a sexy costume. Jessica. Rabbit. Your beautiful girlfriend was wearing the signature red sequined dress and long purple gloves, her crimson hair styled to match the character’s as best as she could, her eyelids adorned with purple and her lips painted red.
She had been looking down at her phone but looked up when she heard you walk in, setting the device on the counter. “Love, you look so cute,” she told you, walking over and wrapping her arms around your waist.
“Cute?” You replied with a frown, placing your hands on her shoulders and stepping back so she was forced away from you a bit, allowing you to look at her properly. “I was going for dangerously sexy, not cute,” you informed her, dragging back your arms to cross them over your chest.
“Dangerous? You?” Natasha asked with a smirk, she loved the fire you had in you, and she loved when you let it show.
“Yes! And sexy,” you repeated that part too, that was really the most important part.
“Well, you’re always sexy,” she informed you, stepping towards you again and placing one of her hands on your hips and one of her hands on your face, gently cupping your cheek as she tugged you close and kissed you. Once you broke away she smiled. “You’re just also adorable.”
You huffed and got out of her grasp, crossing your arms once again and narrowing your eyes as you glared at her. “Natasha!” You said, almost in a scolding tone.
She held her hands up in surrender. “I can’t help it, baby, I’m sorry,” she said, lying straight to your face.
“No you’re not.” You replied.
She shrugged. “No, I’m not.” She agreed with a smile.
You rolled your eyes but you couldn’t help that her smile was contagious and made you want to smile as well. “Ugh, I hate you, you’re the worst,” you stated.
She leaned over and pressed a kiss onto the corner of your lips. “Come on, why don’t you show me some more of those scooby-doo movies?” She suggested.
“We can’t, we have to be on alert for trick-or-treaters,” you pointed out.
She shrugged. “Not an issue. I put out a bowl with a note that says ‘please take one’,” she told you.
You only groaned. “Kids never take just one,” you informed her, shaking your head.
Her grin only got wider as she pulled out an unopened bag of assorted fun-size chocolates. “I know. All the kids will think other kids got to it first,” she told you.
Your eyes lit up and you immediately grabbed the bag from her, ripping it open and pulling out your favourite one. “I love you,” you said. “I thought I was the worst?” She teased as she led you over to the couch so you could watch more movies together.
You nodded. “Oh you are,” you told her, plopping down onto the couch and leaning into her as she sat next to you. “But I love you anyway.”
She laughed softly and shook her head, adjusting her dress as she put on a movie. She kissed your temple. “Happy Halloween, my love.”
You smiled. “Happy Halloween.”

“Come on, Stevie, you’re feeling better, we should have a nice night,” Bucky told Steve, laying the costume that he had pulled together for him onto the bed.
“Buck, I’m gonna look ridiculous,” Steve pointed out as he looked at the clothes the other man had laid out on the bed.
“Well if you don’t put on a costume then Y/N and I will be the only ones dressed up,” Bucky replied as he looked at the mirror that hung on the wall and straightened out his tie.
Steve scoffed. “Your military clothes hardly count,” he replied, pulling on the clothes that Bucky had gotten him despite all of the protesting.
“You sayin’ you want me ta wear somethin’ else?” Bucky looked at the man in the mirror, watching him change with a smirk.
“I’m saying I look ridiculous and you don’t,” Steve replied, looking over to the door when he heard a knock.
“Hello?” Came your voice from the other side.
“It’s open, doll!” Bucky called as he grabbed his hat and set it on his head, looking over as you opened up the door and walked in.
You were wearing a black dress, simple enough, and you had a pointy black hat perched atop your head. “You boys ready to get going?” You asked, knowing the dance hall down the street was going to be serving half priced drinks and a raffle to buy war bonds.
“Can’t you tell, doll?” Bucky asked as he strolled over to you, his arm going over your shoulders as he ducked under your hat to press a kiss onto your cheek.
“Buck’s a soldier and I’m a…” Steve glanced at himself in the mirror and fixed his hat. “Bucky, what am I supposed to be dressed as?” He asked.
Bucky scoffed. “You’re a cowboy Steve, like in that film we saw in the cinema a few weeks back,” he replied, when seeing the unimpressed look on Steve’s face he just chuckled. “What were you expectin’ ta be, punk, a superhero?”
Steve just shook his head and walked over to you. “Come on, let's get going. I think a half-priced drink is exactly what I need to accept this costume.” Bucky rolled his eyes, a fond smile on his face. “Come on, punk,” he grabbed his hand and pulled him out of the apartment, letting go quickly though. To the rest of the world, you were Bucky’s girlfriend and Steve was just tagging along, but the three of you knew it was more complicated than that. That you were both of theirs and that they were also each other’s.
The walk to the dance hall was short and as you got closer you could already hear the music pouring out of the door that was propped open and excitement filled you. Bucky noticed and squeezed your shoulders. “Let me just get one drink in me and then we can dance the night away,” he said.
She smiled. “Well, I have to save a couple dances for Stevie,” you said as you walked inside, heading over to the bar like he had requested.
Steve shook his head. “I don’t want to step on your toes, literally. I’ll just stay by the bar and admire how pretty you look tonight,” he said with a bit of a shy smile. He had recently been getting more confident with his flirtatious remarks, you and Bucky were proud of him for that.
With that the three of you headed to the bar and ordered drinks, paying on the spot since you didn’t want to start a tab that you ended up not being able to afford. Bucky tried to pay for yours as well but you stopped him, saying you could take care of yourself and setting down the money for it.
You were only halfway through your drinks when you heard your favourite song come on. You gasped and set your drink down, knowing Steve could keep an eye on it for you. “Come on, Buck, we have to dance,” you grabbed his left hand since his right was holding his glass and tugged him onto the dance floor, barely leaving him enough time to set his drink on the bar.
“Woah, easy doll, you’ll rip my arm off.” he joked as he followed you, playfully rubbing his shoulder as you rolled your eyes. Then his hand went to your waist, and yours went to his shoulder, your free hands intertwining.
And one song turned into two. And then three. And then four. And after that you lost count. You laughed and danced to the songs, occasionally going back to the bar to sip on your drinks and get shy compliments from Steve who also seemed to be having a good time, only for one of you to be interested in the song again and pull you back to the dance floor.
You were there until your feet started to hurt, at which point Bucky insisted that he carry you home, of course having to do it bridal style. So you just looped your arms around his neck and leaned into his chest.
Steve walked along next to you, a smile on his face. You had been worried he’d get bored, but he seemed to have enjoyed his night just fine. Then a cough slipped past his lips as Bucky set you down in the boys’ shared apartment and instantly both of your gazes were on Steve.
“Stevie, you alright?” Bucky asked, walking over and placing a hand on his shoulder, a worried look crossing his face.
Steve just nodded. “Yeah. Guy next to me was smoking a cigar, my chest just feels a bit tight,” he explained, heading to the kitchen to get a glass of water.
“Do you have your inhaler?” You asked, walking away from Bucky to go search for it, but Steve shook his head.
“Ran out last week, haven’t gotten it filled. It’s not too bad though, I’ll be fine,” Steve said. Bucky just walked over to him and picked him up, a grin on his face. “Nice try, Rogers. You’re goin’ ta bed,” he brought him over to the bed in the apartment and carefully lay him down, he was about to protest until you laid next to him.
“Did you have a good night, Stevie?” You asked with a smile.
He nodded and put his arm around your shoulders, to which you tossed off your hat and cuddled into him. “I did. Happy Halloween, love,” Steve replied, matching your smile with one of your own.
“I’m glad. Happy Halloween, boys,” you said, yawning and cuddling further into Steve who pulled you close.
Bucky chuckled, there was no space left for him. But he would sleep on the floor and hold Steve’s hand, so he walked over, pulling over a pillow and a blanket and lay down, just looking up at you too happily. “Happy Halloween, doll. Punk.”

Sticking With The Classics (Bucky Barnes x Reader)
A Part of Halloweek! Female!Reader shows Bucky her Halloween costume.

“Just let me show you my costume!” You had insisted, over and over again. Sometimes the phrasing was slightly different, but you knew exactly how to wear Bucky down so he would agree. And he finally had. So you instructed him to sit on your bed while you went to change.
It was a costume that you had bought specifically for him, so he was always going to have to see you in it, you had just given him the illusion of choice. You would have made him see it at some point, you were just glad he had done so willingly.
“I don’t understand all of this modern Halloween stuff sometimes, doll,” Bucky said from the bedroom. Even though you were in the connected bathroom you could hear his old-man-complaints since you had left a crack in the door as you changed.
“I mean,” he continued, “it’s a fun holiday, sure, but it’s for kids. Back in my day kids would go out and get their homemade treats, and toys, and fruit and stuff, and you would have to make your costumes yourself, but now it’s just a corporate-”
His words trailed off as you opened the door to the bathroom, leaning on the doorframe to show him your outfit in all of its glory. You were dressed like a nurse circa World War 2 with just a few alterations. The top was much tighter, and the neckline lower. The skirt was shorter as well, and Bucky’s eyes immediately went to your legs.
“I’m a nurse!” You announced cheerfully, as if that wasn’t already obvious.
“I saw a lotta nurses during the war and none ever looked like you, sweetheart,” Bucky muttered, his eyes slowly raking up your body, appreciating just how good you looked in your costume.
You placed your hands on your hips and sauntered purposefully over to him, your heels clicking on the hardwood floor, bringing Bucky’s awareness to them again before he looked up at your face. “Don’t you like it?” You asked, having a feeling you knew the answer based on the way his eyes darkened.
But, to his credit, he knew that you had the party that the two of you were supposed to be going to soon and he knew you were excited for it. “You look great, but don’t you think you’ll get cold?”
You shrugged as you stopped in front of the bed, your skirt riding up slightly as you climbed on and straddled him. “I bet you could keep me warm.” You told him in your best sultry voice.
His breath caught in his throat and his arms snaked around your waist. Despite trying his best to behave, and you had to give credit where credit was due, he pulled you close to his chest. “Doll, we’ve got that party-”
You cut him off by pressing a kiss onto the corner of his lips. “Made it up. Wanted an excuse to get a costume for you.” You informed him once you pulled back, still looking up into his blue eyes which were darkening with want, no, darkening with need with every word.
He grinned and shook his head, shifting to be on the center of the bed. He lay down and pulled you with him, making you let out a small laugh. “My, my, princess, whatever am I gonna do with you?” He asked, his voice dropping an octave which he knew you loved.
You rolled over so he was on top of you and you lay beneath him, giving your best innocent look, but the mischievous sparkle in your eyes gave away your ploy. “I may have a few ideas.”

That Simply Won't Do (Loki x Reader)
This Was Made As a Part of Halloweek!
Gn!Reader starts to get annoyed by Loki's Halloween Antics
Genre(s): Fluff
Warnings: Mentions of blood
Word Count: 1724

“It’s a bit of a silly Midgardian holiday, isn’t it?” Loki asked as he leaned against the wall, watching as you climbed up the ladder to string up little ghost shaped lights around the roof over your front porch.
“It’s not silly, Loki, it’s all in good fun,” you countered, carefully taping the string of the lights with tape so that you could take it off tomorrow. Yes you were decorating a little late, but you were always busy with something, at least you’d gotten around to it.
There was a flash of green and Loki was sitting cross legged on the roof right in front of you and you jumped, nearly falling off of the ladder but his slender fingers caught your wrist and kept you steady. You huffed as you looked out here.
“Oh, don’t give me that, pet, I’m here to help,” he said with a shake of his head, nimble fingers taking the lights from you and hanging the rest of them for you. “Now, I think it’s time we get you down before you fall.” His hands grabbed your twist and in another flash of green magic you had your feet securely on the ground.
“I wouldn’t have had to go up there at all if you had agreed to help in the first place,” you pointed out, poking him in the chest.
His response was simply to chuckle, picking up your hand and placing a kiss onto your knuckles. You huffed and went back over to the box of decorations, noticing as he silently followed behind you.
You pulled out a roll of fake caution tape and Loki cocked an eyebrow at you. “Danger: Frights Beyond,” he read aloud, sounding unimpressed. “Pet, is this supposed to be scary?” He asked, looking away from the caution tape and back at you.
You just handed it to him. “It’s for children, Loki. Now do me a favour and stretch that from the tree in the front yard to the porch,” you ordered him, to which he rolled his eyes but stood and moved to do as you asked him to.
Then the timer on your phone went off and you pulled it out. “Keep decorating, I have to take the cookies out of the oven,” you told him, heading inside to do just that. You had made pumpkin shaped cookies for the two of you to eat so you could avoid the temptation to eat the halloween candy you had for the kids.
But as you came outside you found your decorations had been utterly ruined. Well, not ruined, but it was not what you were picturing. You looked like one of those houses that got it professionally decorated, or it looked like Loki had gone mad and actually made sure the house was haunted.
The ghost lights you had put up were replaced with hanging lanterns that glowed with the green light from flames of the same colour. The glow-in-the-dark skeleton you had placed on one of the patio chairs was turned into what looked to be a real skeleton, with blood spatter all over your nice patio furniture. There was also blood on the caution tape which, to give Loki credit, was there you had asked him to put it, but now it looked like real crime scene tape and was littered with tears and cuts. You could go on and on, but it looked genuinely scary, and Loki was standing there with his arms crossed, looking rather proud of himself.
“LOKI!” You stomped over to him. He turned to face you and his smile disappeared as he noticed you weren’t delighted like you thought he would be. “What have you done to my decorations?” You demanded.
“I thought you’d like it,” he defended, “I just made it a bit scarier.”
“Loki,” you said, exasperated, “this is for children!”
“Are Midgardian children truly that cowardly?” Loki asked, looking around at the decorations. “I think this is rather tame.”
“Put it back,”
“But, pet-”
“Loki,” your tone gave off a sense of warning.
He raised his hands in surrender and then, with a flick of his wrists, everything went back to normal. “It was just an illusion, pet. I thought the point was to be scary.”
“No, it’s to be spooky,” you clarified, to which he gave you a look that told you he clearly didn’t understand the difference. “Nevermind. Come on, kids will start coming out soon, especially the younger ones, and neither of us are even in costume yet.”
He followed you inside of the house. “Do I even need a costume? I can just shapeshift my dear,” he reminded you, holding the door open for you and then closing it once you were both inside.
“A snake can’t open the door to give out candy to the trick-or-treaters,” You pointed out as you headed towards your room where you had a halloween costume waiting somewhere in the closet.
Both of Loki’s eyebrows raised at that. “Trick-or-treaters?” He repeated.
“Yes, the children who come to the door. When you open it they say ‘trick or treat’,” you explained .
“Ah, so I can choose to play a trick,” he raised his hand and made fireworks appear to be coming out of his palm.
“No, you just give them the candy in the bowl,” you said, pointing towards the bowl that sat on a table by the door.
He scoffed and rolled his eyes. “Then perhaps they shouldn’t say trick or treat, it should just be treat,”
You sighed and shook your head. “Bring it up with the Halloween king,” you said, throwing your hands up in defeat as you walked towards the bedroom to get changed.
When you return you’re wearing a costume you had picked up from the store a few days ago, nothing fancy, just something to wear for the night. It was one of those cheap vampire costumes, with a flimsy red vest you could put over a white button down and a cloak with a bit of a gaudy broach holding it together in the center, all black and made of a kind of scratchy material. But it worked for a couple hours of handing out candy.
Loki was sitting on the couch, wearing his Asgardian leather, his horned crown set upon his black locks. Which was more of a costume than you thought you were going to get from him, so you didn’t say anything. He didn’t feel the same.
“What in Norns are you wearing?” He asked, unsure if he should be amused or not by your costume.
“I’m a vampire. It’s just something to wear for the trick-or-treaters,” you said, with a shrug as you walked over to make sure everything that you might need would be by the door.
“No, no, that simply won’t do,” Loki said with a shake of his head. He rose from his seat and walked over to you.
“What are you-” you were cut off by a wave of his hand and swirling green magic, looking down you saw your costume change.
Your clothes got heavier, the fabric of your cheap vest morphing with your white button down to become a proper top that dipped a bit lower than your hips like a tunic, with layers of different shades of red. But with a hum and another flick of his wrist the red shifted to be green instead. Your pants also changed, but they stayed a simple black colour. A bit more texture was added and they turned into a material like leather, you could assume it was leather.
Your cloak suddenly felt heavy around your shoulders as well, being made of a thinner black leather with a deep green lining of what felt like the smoothest of silk. Then with a snap of his fingers, gold adorned the entire outfit and you felt something on your head. Turning to the mirror that hung in the front hall you saw your full outfit as well as the crown that adorned your head you looked like a…
“Loki, why am I dressed like an Asgardian Prince?” You asked, turning to face him even though you could see him in the mirror.
He had that devilishly handsome smirk on his face that made it impossible to be mad at him, all you really wanted to do was kiss him. But you did your best. “I think you look utterly ravishing, pet,” he replied.
“Loki…” you muttered, giving him a pointed look.
“Yes, yes, alright.” He gave in. Another wave of his fingers and with the help of some more of his magic, you knew your clothes were changing again.
You looked in the hall mirror and saw that your dress had changed again. You were now covered in flowing, pale green fabrics that made a beautiful, Asgardian-style dress. The crown had transformed into a simple jewel around your head that, in the center of your forehead, created an interlacing image of gold adorned with delicate diamonds. Your cloak was no longer leather but a deeper green silk, still with gold adornments that made you look regal.
“Perhaps a princess is more to your liking?” Loki asked as he stood behind you, placing his hands on your waist. Now he was teasing you, you could tell by the grin on his face and the wink that he sent you through the mirror.
“Loki, you are really testing my nerves today,” you warned him with a sigh, placing your hands on top of his. “Just… give me a regular costume back please?” You asked. He sighed but obliged, giving you your original vampire costume, but upgrading it a bit to be, for one, more comfortable, and also nicer quality. “I am sorry, my dear, I was just trying to have a bit of fun,” he informed you, pressing a kiss onto your cheek.
You smiled a bit and turned to look at him properly instead of in the mirror. “The fun happens when we run out of candy and turn out the lights so no one comes to the door,” you informed him, only half joking.
Still, he perked up and, with a wave of his hand, the candy was gone and the lights were out. “Then let’s go, pet, I have a few more costume ideas for you.”

It had been a real hassle getting your costume this year. You know how people always warned against going to buy your costume on the same week as Halloween because the stores were always so busy and all of the good costumes were signed out. That was nothing compared to how you got your costume.
You had ‘borrowed’ it from your boyfriend, which was a lot harder than it sounded to be. Your boyfriend Peter had his Spidey-sense which meant it was hard to sneak things by him. He was also a light sleeper so he would notice if you moved around while he was sleeping. You had almost been caught a few times and had to abort your mission before he realized what you were doing and ruined the surprise but this morning, Halloween morning, you had managed to snag your prize as you were leaving his apartment.
And so here you were, pulling the stretchy, spandex material of Peter’s Spider-Man suit over you. You had decided not to wear the mask so people didn’t mistake you for the real Spider-Man, even though you and Peter were set to go to a Stark party.
You heard a knock on the door of your apartment and turned, making sure that the suit was on properly before grabbing your phone. You realized you didn’t have anywhere to put it, so you just held it. Hopefully Peter’s costume would have pocket space you could -steal- borrow.
Then you walked over to the front door and pulled it open to see your boyfriend standing there. He was wearing a red flannel, jeans, and normal sneakers (meaning he definitely had pockets you could put your phone in), but that wasn’t the interesting part of his costume. He had stuck on light blue gloves and covered his face in a matching light blue colour. His hair had that spray-on hair colour in a darker blue and perched atop his ears were little extensions (in blue) that looked like elf ears. He was dressed as the character Ian Lightfoot from a movie you liked called Onward, you had watched it together a few months ago and insisted that Ian sounded just like Peter.
“You look great, Pete!” You informed him with a smile, but received nothing in response. He was just staring at you and your costume. “Pete?” You repeated, trying to get his attention.
His head snapped up from where he had been looking at your costume to meet your eyes. “Oh, yeah, hey. Uh… is that my suit?” He asked, feeling like he already knew the answer.
You nodded and ran the hand that wasn’t holding your phone over the material of it. “Yup! It’s surprisingly comfortable,” you told him, though you figured he knew that.
His eyebrows furrowed slightly and his eyes narrowed just a bit, his lips jutting out a little more like he was preparing to pout (which would have been adorable).
“Something wrong?” You asked, letting your hand drop to your side, your own eyebrows matching the furrow of his.
“I just… I dunno if Mr. Stark would be okay with you wearing my multi-million-dollar suit to, well, to a Halloween party,” he said, rubbing the back of his neck with his gloved hand.
You gave him a weird look and shook your head with a smile. “Pete, Tony always wears his suit on Halloween, I think it’ll be fine,” you remind him.
Peter sighed and nodded, still looking awkward with his feet turned in on each other and his hand rubbing the back of his neck. “Yeah, but that’s his suit, this is my suit but you’re wearing it.” He gave you the rundown.
“Pete, it’s your old suit,” you reminded him with a shake of your head.
He let out another small sigh, dramatic as ever even if he didn’t mean to be. “Yeah, I guess…” he agreed.
You crossed your arms over your chest. “Peter, what’s really bothering you?” You asked, having a feeling that there was more to this.
He shifted, his weight going from one foot to the other and then back again. “It’s just not fair,” he muttered and his bottom lip finally popped out into a proper pout.
And you wanted to be serious, but dammit did he look cute. You leaned forward and pecked a kiss onto his lower lip. “What’s not fair, Pete?” You ask.
He seems to straighten up a bit as your lips briefly touch his, but he’s still pouting. “It’s not fair that you look so good in my suit,” he replied, leaning on his shoulder that was pressed against the doorframe.
And you weren’t sure what you were expecting him to say but that wasn’t it. You let out a small laugh. “What?”
He huffs a bit, looking embarrassed, his gaze shifting sideways as he straightens up a bit so try to seem more serious. “I mean, babe, it’s my suit, so why do you look better in it?” He questioned, trying to make you see his point of view.
“Well, I do understand your predicament, Parker,” you said with a thoughtful nod, your hand coming up to rub your chin like a character in an old movie thinking. “I could take it off, but we have that party, and I’m barely wearing anything under here, I didn’t want to have too many lines in the fabric, you know,” you said, such an offhand comment but it affected Peter just how you thought it would.
He straightened up and his eyes widened slightly. Ideas of what you could be wearing under his suit running through his mind and then he got the amazing idea what if you’re wearing nothing beneath the suit. “You know, we could just skip the party,” he said, trying to be casual but the slight lift in his tone almost made it sound like a plea.
You shook your head. “No can do, Parker, you promised to take Morgan trick-or-treating for the first hour of the party,” you reminded him, stepping out of your apartment.
He groaned and let his head fall back in frustration. Curse his natural kindness and his inability to say no to Morgan Stark. “But afterwards?” He asked hopefully, stepping out of the way as you closed the door.
You smiled fondly and leaned over, pecking his cheek. You then had to wipe some blue face paint off of your lips but once you had you finally answered his question. “Afterwards I’m all yours, Spider-Man.”
