Of course, she’d seen it. How could she forget? Waking up on the Chamber floor and there it was, gripped in Harry’s bloody hand. She remembers now how it glittered, how it shone, with rubies the size of eggs, the long expanse of the blade, the handsome curve around its grip. Who else had even seen it that close? And if the sword was still at school - if it was in the office - I can get it for you, she tells them all, in her head. In her head, it’s an oath. I’ll do it. I won't let you down.
