Minor spoilers for 'Tales Of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles'.

★Okay, I am already through one episode but I think that it's clear to everyone that a little observation can be made about Leo.

He. He said the thing. He said 'I am nothing without my brothers'. It's— it's the first episode man. That guy already went through 19 minutes of running around and fighting a deadly robot, and on top of that he admits to feeling helpless and worthless without his family. Man is terrified of being separated from his brothers because he can't think that he can do it on his own. Huh. Reminds me of someone else...

but I may be wrong. I only watched one episode after all. I shouldn't rush the character analysis. Anyway, just wanted to make an observation.. an obvious one- I suppose.★

Here they are I guess lol, they're from almost a year ago

1. Epic rap battles of history - Blue eyed people vs Mechazoids

Do Bishop's mechazoids attack blue eyed people too? Bc yuno, mutation?? I mean, did Bishop think about that? Bc we know she didn't think of other kind of mutations (Rob), so why would she think of this one specific kind? Interesting to think about. Bc if they do attack blue eyed people, then that means that the whole time they were active they haven't met a single blue eyed person, which is funny (/gen). But if they don't, then that just wouldn't make sense. Why would she think of this one specific kind of mutation, program that into them, then when the mechs attack Rob bc of another eye-related mutation, she's all like "hey wow what, no way!". Like girl.

2. SA allegory??? In MY tmnt show??! More likely than you think

Bro, how is it that I felt so uncomfortable while watching the 2nd episode but had NO idea why, until some rando's titkok video comes up on my fyp saying they felt like it was an SA allegory? AN SA ALLEGORY???!!! FUCK YOU!! (/nm) It makes so much sense and I hate it. Or idk. Hrrghhh... Rob being all pushy and trying to guilt Mikey into doing what he wants, and just. Idk. That whole scene where. Uhh i don't remember where they are at that time, but when Rob pulls out his phone and taunts Mikey about how much power he has over him holy fuck I just said this out loud for the first time and wow wtf. Yea, that's what happened. Wtf. Okay, so. That scene, idk what's with that scene, but the artists nailed the facial expressions SO good, even I was feeling fucking uncomfortable. I mean. Yeah. Ok. Also what I haven't seen anyone talk about, is the fact that at the end of the episode they literally created pigeon Pete. This might be reaching but like. I think everyone knows what I mean. OH GOD WAIT HAHAAAHAH. I just got a faint memory, but this one is WAY before even the movie came out, what not the series, I remember going up on tiktok and idk what the video was about (obv tmnt related), but the recommended search was "tmnt mikey sa" AND LIKE????? HELLO???????? THE PROPHECY????? (Not quite, since it's THANKFULLY just an allegory, but yea (also, I'm kidding, I'm making a jokey joke here)). Yeah btw, literally nothing came up related to the search when you clicked it. So I'm still so super fucking confused about that. But coming back on track, that episode is living in my head rent free and I don't know if its a /pos or a /neg situation.

3. Neurodivergent Raphael isn't real, he cant hurt you. Neurodivergent Raphael:

I think it's episode 7 iirc. Someone on da clockapp tricked me into thinking the whole episode was Raph having sensory issues but nuh uh. I mean not really, mainly just in the beginning. I fucking love that sequence so much. I think it's like. It conveys how I feel when I'm overstimulated/overwhelmed or something similar, except instead of flipping out and actually shouting and punching and wrestling the loud ass people who just cannot shut their fucking mouths for a minute (seriously Leo, stfu /j), I just. Well idk. It gets foggy when I'm like that, but I know that I isolate myself and cry. So good for him that he can be himself in front of his family tho! I mean even when he started beating up Leo, pushing him under the water, etc, all Leo did was say "use your words" AND try and stop him, instead of throwing punches as well. Aaaahgjjgjg I love that. I just thought of a really mean comment and it's really fucking mean but I need to get it out of the me, so... Raph almost drowning in that episode is karma for pushing Leo under water in the beginning of the ep. PFPGFPG am I funny? Is this funny? It's probably not.

4. You can't spell autism without chickens (because you don't have a pen, but if you ask them nicely enough, they'll shed a feather for you and you can write all the words you like)

Hun is autistic and you can pry this headcanon out of my freezing dead hands. My dude feels more empathy towards chickens and cats than actual people. If I'd say that isn't child me I would be a big fat liar. And no, obviously I'm not saying Hun is an evil wicked person because of that (villanizing autistic folks because of their autistic symptoms? not cool, kids, not cool), all I'm saying is hearing the question "is she your mom, or what" and answering with "she's Angel..? .... she's not my mom.." is the most autistic thing he could have said in that situation. Btw I stopped writing this for a minute to think of a way to playfully make fun of him by suggesting something else he could have said and I was thinking real hard too, I was about to get stressed why I can't think of a simple response, and lo, I remembered I'm also autistic. So. Uhm. Autistic Hun the realest!!!

5. Plot Armor is LAME??? (Summoning A Doctor [vet?] For The NINJA TURTLES at 3 AM Challenge Gone WRONG!!!) – EXTREMELY EMOTIONAL! (not clickbait)

I feel like TOTTMNT is gonna be one of those shows where one of the characters gets brutally beaten up, and five minutes later they act like nothing even ever happened. I'm thinking of the fact here that I'm pretty sure Raph had his ribs broken or something. But again, it wasn't brought up in further episodes. Although I can also totally see that he did break his bones, but he's just shrugging it off like it's nothing so none of the family knows about it. That would be just so in character. But then again, we'd still need SOMETHING that indicates that's what it is. Otherwise it's the same old plot armor situation. I just remembered TMNT 2012, where (although I really really love and appreciate that they actually took time to explore Leo's knee injury, giving him a crutch and actually showing him struggling both physically and mentally with that huge change and everything) they just went "Leo, the pain is in your brain, get rid of it" and then he was...magically better. I actually hated that. But yeah, I just really hope they don't reach for the plot armor this time.

6. Rob showcases his special talent of sublimating into thin air

Wtf happens to Rob?? I mean, sure I'm still stuck at episode 9 out of 12, but what I understand from the things I've seen is that Bishop and the mechas won't return in this season. But I don't remember what happened to Rob. I remember Bishop though. (Kind of mindblowing how she just blames people for something they didn't do, but since they all come from the group where the actual bad guy come from, then obv they're guilty too, and they're dangerous so she needs to get rid of "their kind", then they actually save her from the shithole she's dug herself into, then the We Get Rid Of Them Organization offers her a job and she JUMPS to that offer... Like dude. You're being very mean to the people who JUST saved your butt, but okay). But what abt Rob. Meh I just don't rember. Anyway.

7. Tottmnt April x Leo situation

They're cute. Yeah. Just. That's it. That's kinda it. I feel like the writers know what they're doing this time. Although I'm really REAAALLY not a fan of this "fall in love by first look thing" (something similar that I'm more of a fan of is a "first look, wow they're cute, wow they're talking to me, time passes, hehe cool we're friends now, oh we're falling in love, yey we're a couple that's cool" kinda thing), but I guess I'll live. Also a fun thing to note is that Leo has literally seen other girls before (having access to the internet, being allowed to leave the sewers, etc.), not like 2012 Donnie, so while Donnie's love could be interpreted as just a...well idk. Accident? No. Uhhh... Okay, it's like, just imagine being colorblind for your entire life but then out if nowhere you can see colors now, like you got one of those glasses or something, and the first thing you see is the eyes of your pet, let's say it's yellow. So then when ppl ask you what your fav color is you'll always say yellow. Bc that's a positive experience. So uh..??? That's kinda 2012 Donnie. Like he's encountered one color, and he was like "yea it's pretty cool, I'll stick with this one" then he ends up obsessing over that one color for the rest of his life. Well I mean. Not to push my luck here, but I also think that the 2012 writers accidentally portrayed limerence better than being in love lmao. BUT!! That's what I'm saying, that this whole Leo has a crush on April in tottmnt doesn't feel like that. Yes its awkward and everything, but thats just how it is irl as a teen, like idk. Idk how to say this lol, it just feels like that at that time. I'm reeeealllyy curious about how it's gonna go down this time tbh! I'm really liking it so far! (Just as the whole show, but yeah).

Also erm, yea, I still haven't continued watching the show after I wrote these ToT

There's just general opinions and like...genuine RAMBLINGS about the show lol but that's not what's interesting, but the WAY I wrote them????

I mean, I broke it into 7 paragraphs and I gave them the most idiotic titles and everything lmao

Going crazy thinking about the complexities of Donatello and his relationship with his emotions in tottmnt just auuaua !!!!

Like, he's outwardly and unabashedly kind in this iteration and I'm SO here for it !!! And it doesn't diminish his ability to be snarky and witty, he still throws jabs at his brothers, but I feel like this donnie is a return to form in the sense that the center of his character, the motivation for his intelligence and penitent for creation, is kindness- more importantly, empathy.

routinely he is described as thoughtful, 'non-threatening', and usually very placid; we see mention of his temper when his computers are messed with, but he's extraordinary patient- polite, even- with the killer robot chasing him, subway security, and the blind conductor, all while under high-pressure stress. When confronting the Mechazoids for the first time, he keeps them at a distance and straight up complements the engineering ingenuity! Same when confronting bishop in the subway! He talks enthusiastically, respectfully, with her about her system setup! His first instinct is to diffuse the situation, approach her with humility and establish common ground. Dude like even when running away from the Mechazoid he was always thinking of the people around him.. he was telling everyone to get out of the way, waited for cars to clear (his brothers just straight ran through traffic and jumped over moving carsss), tried to usher people away from train cars he was fighting in, etc. And in the narrated recaps between episodes, donnie is the first brother to consider bishops motivations in an empathetic manner, "maybe she has a tragic back story". Of course that serves as thematic foreshadowing buy he was still the first to offer the kindness of reason to bishops character, maybe there's a reason she's doing this, not just anger that she is.

Not to mention he full ass built a robot to protect his brothers and took the extra time to program in impeccable manners. just for funsies heheh. eueueu Metalhead my beloveddddd😭🙏💙💙💙💙

ALL THIS and yet still, in episode 10, donnie considers himself non-emotional. He says he's 'all left brained' and implys that he operates differently from his brothers who he considers more outwardly emotionally expressive. And yet, in the same episode, he spends a majority of it comforting wingnut. He lends his ear and speaks to her kindly even when her panic exasperates their situation, he doesn't get mad when she freaks out, he takes the time to talk things through with her and make her comfortable whenever able. Even when they think Leatherhead has unmutated, he's sad but tries to put himself in her situation and understand her actions. HES SO SWEET IT HURTS DUDE ❗️❗️❗️ main point being, I dont think he considers himself emotional because he operates on a mode of empathy that is reason driven. He's emotionally logical, of that makes sense. It shows an INSANE amount of emotional intelligence and maturity, I just don't think he understands that because to him, this is logical, and his brother are anything but.

For a majority of his life, the only other people he has to compare himself to are his brothers. When up against anxiety riddled Leonardo, chronically angry Raph, and Mikey's carefree disregard, of course he sees himself and goes, 'ah ok. I must be less emotionally prone because I don't react like they do to these situations'.

I think he just understands the whole social song and dance of understanding better than he thinks.

I know the whole thing with tottmnt is the aspect of unreliable narration, but even then! Like if Leo wrote donnie like this then it probably because he routinely displays this kind of understanding behavior. Plus idk bout yall but I kinda consider the events of tottmnt as like a blurry semi-cannon? I think there are nuggest of truth in there, the broad strokes yk? Like the flood arc referenced 'the bishop situation' like it was a thing that actually happened, albiet in passing, and not just something to poke fun at Leo. It's got legs, there's ideas there to work with ajaja

Whumpril Day 1: Hug

I don't know if I'll keep up with this but I thought I'd try it out!

Donnie comes home from school one day and just wants a hug from one of his brothers.

Donnie had never been particularly affectionate. If he had ever bothered to check his love language it was probably either acts of service or quality time. He had never felt more loved then the time Mikey had agreed to watch the entirety of Fullmetal Alchemist with him or the time Leo had gone out of his way to get him the latest volume of Jujutsu Kaisen after he accidentally dropped his into the depths of the sewers. 

That’s not to say Donnie didn’t like physical touch or was adverse to affection from his family. Donnie adored his family and was happy to show it from time to time just preferably on his own terms. Which was something the family all understood about him. Donnie would come to them when he wanted a hug and as long as he got a warning beforehand he would be happy to give them all one whenever they needed it. 

Suffice to say, Donnie hugs were pretty rare, especially when they came out of seemingly nowhere. So when Donnie came home from computer club an hour early and immediately went Raph, who was sitting at the desk in their bedroom trying to catch up on homework he was behind on,and wrapped his arms around him from behind; it was clear something was up. 

Donnie had his face buried into his shoulder, not saying a word. Raph, to most people’s surprise, was actually a big fan of physical touch and hugs so he immediately wrapped his arms around Donnie’s shell and tugged him close. 

At first Raph thought maybe he was still just a bit shaken up after Bishop’s attack with her mechazoids from a few days ago. Raph knew he was certainly still feeling a bit uneasy after the whole ordeal. He had tried to convince Splinter to let him bring some shuriken and his sais to school but apparently that was against the school handbook or something. He felt naked without his sais strapped to his belt. 

“You good, Man?” Raph finally asked after they had been glued together for a long enough silence. Donnie just shrugged and mumbled something that Raph couldn’t understand. 

“What?” 

“I think I have a concussion.”

What?

Donnie had said it so bluntly, Raph almost didn’t believe him. Was this seriously Donatello his supposed smart brother, casually dropping that he might possibly have a concussion? Thanks to his newly formed bond with star senior hockey player, Casey Jones, Raph was all too familiar with the seriousness of concussions. Even minor concussions could lead to things like confusion and memory loss. 

“Don’t you think that’s something important to lead with!?” Raph spat. 

Donnie lifted his head to look at Raph with bleary eyes, “What?”  

Raph furrowed his brow, “Why didn’t you say something sooner?” 

Donnie just stared back at him with a vacant expression, blinking to reveal his concerningly dilated pupils. Raph thought he was going to have to repeat himself again, when Donnie finally answered. “‘M just a bit dizzy ‘s all,” he mumbled, pressing his face back against Raph’s shoulder and letting out a relaxed little sigh. 

“Oh, just a little dizzy,” Raph mocked. “When’d you hit your head?” Raph’s heart skipped a beat as he remembered giving Donnie a pretty gnarly kick to the head during one of their 5:00AM training sessions that Splinter still roped them into doing every Saturday. Raph wouldn't forgive himself if this was because of him. 

“Well, when the mechazoid was chasing me through the subway a few weeks ago, I ended up hitting my head pretty badly in an elevator,” he paused to let out a little groan when the light started to bother his eyes. Raph turned out the desk light. What little natural light made it into the lair would have to do for now. Donnie relaxed a little, finding some comfort in the darkness. “I may have passed out for like ten or fifteen minutes.” 

Raph’s brow furrowed. He felt a little better knowing it wasn’t him that caused the concussion but he couldn't say he was pleased that this was because of Bishop and one of her stupid robots. If he didn’t already hate her, he really did now. 

He knew Leo wanted to look past her mistakes. He always tried to see the good in people even if there was hardly any to find but Raph wasn’t like Leo. He had a hard time forgiving anyone that crossed him and especially if they messed with any of his brothers. Bishop could rot away for all he cared. 

That’s what she deserved. 

“And you didn’t mention this before because?” 

“Prob adrenaline,” Donnie replied, his words slurring ever so slightly at the end. “I didn’t even realize my head was hurting so much until we got back to the lair and by then we were all so exhausted. I just wanted to sleep.” 

Raph couldn’t be too mad. The adrenaline had gotten to him too. It was easy to forget about all your injuries after an adrenaline crash when you were so tired and all you wanted to do was sleep. Raph hadn’t exactly mentioned all or any of the injuries he had received that day to his brothers either. As if to drive the point home even harder, he felt a slight pain in his ribs. 

A check-up would probably do them both some good. Without a second thought, Raph grunted as he scooped Donnie into his arms bridal style. Though he was the biggest and dense with muscle Donnie wasn't that much smaller than him. Certainly not enough for him to be easy to carry; plus the weight of his shell wasn’t doing them any favors.  

Donnie let out a squeaky yelp as he was lifted. “Hey! Put me down!” 

“Yeah, sure,” Raph said as he carried Donnie out of their bedroom. “ I’ll put you down, once we’re at the hospital!” 

Donnie was about to protest, when he let out a low whimper of pain and buried his face back into Raph’s shoulder and wrapped his arms around his brother’s neck. He let out a weary sigh then nodded, “Yeah, okay,” he paused. “That sounds like a good idea.”

These designs are the coolest. I loved how the mechazoids adapted their environments. The middle left one in particular reminds me of those hat elite ninja from the 03 show, and the pink stuff is kind of Rise-Krangy. But I love them all.

AND I ESPECIALLY LOVE THIS GUY!!! BEST METALHEAD!!!

I'm sorry, but EPF will always mean Elite Penguin Force to me. That's right. Bishop is a club penguin secret agent. I don't make the rules.
