Wow, turns out Ford won the Megatron VS Stanford poll by default. That was truly an epic battle, too bad it came to that. No shade to the Megatron side, Transformers is a respectable fandom with tons of content and I'm sure they had fun too, but I wanted to give my two cents here about some... complaints I saw circulating among Megatron fans.

While the alleged use of bots is unfortunate, I'm seeing some people saying that it's some sort of conspiracy by the GF fans (they must be the ones that used bots to discredit Megatron's vote and they're also finding it suspicious that we jumped so fast on the bot theory). Or that we also used bots to counter-attack.

Fair, people may have used alt accounts on both sides, that's usually the case in these polls (we know it's true even if no one would ever admit it), but it's not to the point that thousands of votes land on one side in a very short amount of time. Even the GF side had to earn it for the whole duration of the poll.

I don't think people realize how massive the GF fandom is especially since the publication of The Book of Bill. I've seen at least 2 posts on Tumblr with 5k and 4k notes respectively, and I didn't even actively search for every bit of propaganda that exists, inside or outside Tumblr. I did my part too and though I'm not that popular, I think my writing is decent enough to at least appeal to a few potential voters?

More importantly, I wouldn't really believe in the use of bots if I hadn't been a witness myself. The alleged second attack of bots happened during the night for those living in the United States I think, but I live in Europe and when it happened here, it was noon. I was taking my lunch and to pass time, I went to the poll to read the notes (yes, I'm obsessed by this silly poll), and that's when I saw the numbers change so drastically in only a few minutes. It was monday at noon (elsewhere, it would have been sunday night or monday afternoon). Not a time to vote at this scale. It was a pure coincidence, but once I noticed the spike in numbers I refreshed every minute and every minute, more than a dozen votes were added to Megatron's counter. I couldn't screenshot the numbers, but I know others did and that's why the mod decided to disqualify Megatron.

I wouldn't have minded to lose against such a well-loved icon of fandom, but I have to confess that this level of blatant fraud made me mad. I wouldn't have been bummed if we had lost anyway. I'm happy Ford passed, but it feels like a loss to me because the poll wasn't fair to begin with.

To honor this passionnante battle (I was so invested!), I'll continue to write about Stanford Filbrick Pines, my very pregnant future mother of twins!

I think we have a chance of actually winning this.

Ok, so I was talking with @the-barefoot-hatter about The PollTM. My main concern was Kirk beating Dean, and then it's Ford vs Kirk, and as much as I adore that old man, how are we going to get loser dork nerd Stanford Pines (so affectionate) to win against Captain James T. Kirk, sex icon and inspiration for modern fanfiction and fandom as we know it?

The Dean vs Kirk poll is running more tightly than I originally anticipated, though in hindsight I really should have. For a brief moment, Dean pulled again, and at the moment of me writing this post, they're currently running neck and neck.

Ford, on the other hand, has a comfortable lead against Hawkeye from MASH. Barring another round of botting, I think Ford will win that poll.

Then I noticed the actual poll numbers, and I wondered. Just how many people have actually voted for Kirk in the latest poll so far, and just how many people have voted for Ford? So with the help of Google, I ran the numbers. Both calculations were done at nearly the exact same time some twentyish max minutes ago.

This is currently Kirk's voters.

As you can see, nearly 3k people want to get the captain of the USS Enterprise pregnant. A respectable number! I respect you lot and your dedication to getting him pregnant with a quarter Vulcan baby.

But then I ran Ford's numbers.

He currently has nearly four thousand votes. Holy crap, guys. This is after the - does the math after finding the vote in question - approximately 10.6k votes he got against Megatron.

Kirk, on the other hand, is currently at his highest vote counter of approximately 2.8k, rounded up.

Captain James T. Kirk is the father of modern fanfiction and yaoi fanfiction, and for that I salute him. But if we Fordheads band together, we can win this tournament.
