Melior is such a pretty word, I need a character with that name

It’s Latin and in my chapter about superlatives, it meaning “better”, in relation to bonus “good” and optimus “best”. And because of that, I want it to be a Transformers character

I now need a whole rank of Cybertronians that’s below Prime but above normal bots just so I can have a character with Melior in their name. Even though I’m not sure Melior even works as a Transformers name

These characters started in my mind after the resolution of book 1, so the notion that they would all be pitted against each other to begin with had not previously occurred to me. From now on book 1 will be a free-for-all between people of varying significance on three different worlds entirely, all of whom are vying for a control of a sentient weapon, from the perspective of that weapon. The man for whom the blade was made, the woman who was made to learn to wield it, and the boy who put his hand on the hilt because he wants nothing more than to do the right thing.

I have some ideas for Melior now. By which I mean, I’ve started to put a character to the name

I still need a second name attached to it, I feel like it’s too short as just “Melior”, but I don’t know what at the moment

Anyways, I want to draw him, and admittedly I should save this explanation for that, but I’m also working today, so I don’t know when I’ll do it, so I’ll give my ideas now

Okay, so my basic thoughts for now at least are that he’s in some future of the TF One universe, and he’s basically in Sentinel’s role of Optimus’ aid/secretary, but he’s not malicious. He’s much younger than Optimus and the rest and he thinks they’re really cool. Optimus might have saved his life at some point when he was younger and it left an impression on him. He’s basically just Optimus’ little guy

Also a note, I may have also been slightly influenced by Minior, the Pokémon, because of the similar names

As for colors, I’m thinking he’s white with silver accents, like how the Primes have their gold. Comes from an old idea of mine with this Melior character, of a rank just lower than the Primes. He’s also white because in universe, he can’t decide on a color to paint himself, so he just sticks with white. He likes colors a lot, and has no favorites. It makes paint jobs very difficult for him

He also likes to keep himself very shiny. In my head, he’s like a larva bug

I don’t know about his alt mode, but I do have one idea for him to have this suit of battle armor he wears, a very big and powerful armor that makes him look like a completely different bot. In addition, instead of it being pretty and shiny like him, it’s made of very ugly and rough metal, but still very strong. He also kind of gets a bit swept up in the violence when he’s like this. If you don’t already know that’s Melior in there, you wouldn’t guess it

I’m unsure if he built it himself or if he had it built. Maybe giving him the ability to create something like his armor is too much power

I don’t know how powerful he is without it, like if he can hold his own or not. He probably has some weapons and can fight, but I don’t know how good he is

But yeah, just some ideas floating around, hopefully I get around to drawing him at some point

eric seems very interesting !! how exactly does a vampire become a vampire hunter

The key is that he’s not just a vampire; he’s a Nihil, which is a hybrid between a vampire and a wraith. He is in fact one of the handful of patient zeros for both epidemics. Instead of being turned, he was directly infected pre birth by the Phantoms that are the gods’ (of darkness and faith respectively) attempts to escape their joint prison. A wraith is the god of darkness’s attempt and has a deficit of faith and surplus of darkness. A vampire is the opposite. As a result, being both balances out into an ability to pass for human.

As for how he became a vampire hunter, the reason his mother was so near the gods’ prison is because she has a strong interest in the occult. When her husband dies (of vampirism) she is relatively easily drawn in by Mlle Nefara, an occult grifter who did not quite realize how real the stories she was making up were. She’d called the unexplained deaths of various heirs’s and heiress’s the work of vampires. Her existing order of vampire hunters, with their complex rituals and catty infighting are certainly unprepared.
