Mercurial Knight Cookie is... steely to say the least. He gave up his scent, flavour, and memories of the Cookie he used to be to fulfill his duty.

He doesn't remember anything of who he used to be. Mercurial Knight tries not to dwell on it, but still... sometimes he quietly thinks about it and wonders.

Mercurial Knight lost his song and will to sing, but on occasion when he's alone, he'll quietly hum to himself while gazing up at the moon.

It takes a while for Mercurial Knight Cookie to warm up to someone, as a lot of his personality was lost when he was blessed with silver, so building relationships beyond his duty can be a little difficult for him.

He seems calm and composed a most of the time, and he is, but a lot of the time when faced with a Cookie being vulnerable or emotional with him he... doesn't know how to react, or what to say.

Mercurial Knight is more of a actions speak louder than words kinds of guy.

It will take a lot of coaxing to get him to relax with you even for a few minutes. Mercurial Knight allows himself to rest his head was on your lap on a rare break, and afterwards he feels completely re-energized.

He'll thank you deeply for your kindness, still being reserved and polite, but you can tell it effected him more than he lets on.

Mercurial Knight's wings buzz and flutter as he walks away. His fellow guards even notice that he seems more energetic than usual.

He'll start picking flowers for you when he has time. If there happens to be a flower growing near where he's patrolling, he will quickly start thinking of you.

Mercurial Knight fiddles with the flowers he picks a lot, staring at it while he thinks about you. Wondering about your reaction.

He won't give it to you directly, but he will leave it on your windowsill for you.

Mercurial Knight is protective of everyone that lives in the faerie kindgom, this of course extends to you.

He wouldn't dream of playing favourites, but if you are specifically in danger he will wipe out the threat with a quick, decisive strike.

Mercurial Knight will probably show that he cares by patrolling near your home, or as close as he can get. If he can't be there himself, he will get other guards to patrol in his stead.

He is surprisingly cold to the touch so cuddling him in the summer months would be pretty convenient way to stay cool (and he doesn't mind).

Mercurial Knight would probably be very straight forward with a confession of love. Granted it would take him a while to think through his feelings and allow himself to be ok with that. Silverbell would encourage him and be a big cheerleader for him, telling him he can do his duty protecting the silver tree and devote himself to you at the same time.

As the elder cookie finishes little cookies surrounded him making face of awe including a [H/C] cookie who's eyes we're sparkling with amazement, soon enough another elder cookie came in “alright little ones enough stories for the day” she said with her usual Stoic face.

Slowly the little one crawl towards them Mercurial Knight cookie took notice of them which they realize and made ‘Shh’ move with their hand in which he chuckled at soon enough they were close to elder faerie cookie they jumped on he's back happily.

Not expecting the new weight he let out a yelp but soon relaxed as soon as he recognize the laugh, letting out a chuckle he took the little one off he's back and placed on the ground with a gentle smile.

Before the sliver blessed him, who was he? Who was that cookie that made his heart flutter? He couldn’t remember, no matter how hard he tried.

It frustrated him. He so desperately wanted to remember but he just couldn’t. And he can’t ask if anyone else remembered but they can’t. It’s frustrating.

It was a shame that Mercurial Knight couldn’t remember you. The two of you used to be close friends. But now he cant remember you.

Note: This is an AU where *Spoiler* Elder Faerie Cookie does not die when bring back White Lilly Cookie and defeating Shawdow Milk Cookie! So, yes there are spoilers for the Beast Yeast storyline!

You were just a babe when he found you. He weathered eyes saw you under a tree near the veil of Beast Yeast and the Faerie Kingdom. You looked barley a over a year old and were crying your eyes out. He lifted you gently into his arms and inspected you for sighs of injuries. His face twitsed into a deep small frown.

"How could cookies be so cruel to a mere babe?" He asks himself.

He had found injuries from methods he believed had died out centuries ago. A changeling cookie. That was the belief some cookies of Beast Yeast, that the faeries would switch out children with one of their own and take the cookies child with them. Over his long life he had heard horror stories about the methods cookies used to "force" the supposed return of the cookie child and one of those methods was to leave the child in places where faeries were said to roam.

Elder Faerie Cookie knew what the true reason was, the parents simply didn't want their child and wanted to be gulit free. As you start to cry again he holds you closer, using his robe as a makeshift blanket. He smiled softly as your hand reaches towards his hair. You were brought back to the Faerie Kingdom and the healers started their work.

"How do we proceed, your majesty?" Mercurial Knight Cookie asked.

Elder Faerie Cookie turned towards his most trusted commander and simply replied...

"Simple, I will raise the child. They are mine now and no one can change that." Elder Faerie Cookie responded bluntly.

Mercurial Knight Cookie nods and returns to his duties while Elder Faerie Cookie dreams of the life he'll be giving his new child.

Centuries would pass and while the first few years of parenthood were rough on the old man but with the help of other faerie cookies he managed to raise you into a happy child who loves their faerie dad.

You remember that day so well as it haunts your every moment. You first noticed how much more on edge Mercurial Knight and Sliverbell Cookie were around the Silver Tree. Your father had also been acting strange, writing more papers than normal and handing them off to a strange faeire.

"Whats going on, papa?" You asked.

He just looked down at you and gave you a soft closed eye smile while gently patting your head. He told you that nothing was wrong and that he just had to prepare for something very special. You believed him, and were naive then.

You had followed your "aunt" White Lilly Cookie and her friends. You wanted to know what was happening, and why it was making your papa so sad. They didn't know you were there as you followed. They had reached the Silver Tree. You were in awe as while you'd see art and heard bedtime stories about this tree you had never seen it in person.

'So, this is what Mercurial Knight Cookie and Silverbell Cookie are protecting? It's so pretty!' You think to yourself.

Soon, everything is shaking as a rift opens from the Silver Tree. The air shifts as the group prepares for battle. You go to hide but not before you spot something leaving the rift. It was a shadow... thing with too many glowing blue eyes for it to be acceptable. The creature, while focused on the group, had also turned a few of it's many eyes towards you. While the creature lacked a face you could imagine the wicked smile it had.

"Well, well, well, well, well. If it isn't the old man's wittle baby," the creature mocked.

The sound of the jam in your veins hammered in your ears and your chest started to ache with every panicked breath you took. You watched as the others fought the thing. You wanted to run but you were scared you'd be attacked if you moved from your spot. You and the others thought it was all over, but of course that would not be the case.

Next thing you know the shadows have taken the form of a powder blue cookie dressed as a jester with now only two soulless blue eyes... you think. He taunted the group, focusing it mostly towards you. Even as your tears rolls down your face in droves and you cried for you beloved papa the cookie taunting you wouldn't stop. He called you all kinds of names and mocked you for being unwanted by the regular cookies.

You were a sobbing mess, unable to defend yourself from the verbal onslaught that seemed to be so entertaining for this monster. The taunting would not go on for ever as a wicked, evil Cheshire grins graced the features of this monster.

"The old man really does live you, doesn't he? I'll bet it would break his heart if his wittle bite sized baby was, say, crumbled in front of the every thing he's been told to help protect," the cookie says, with the maliciousness and sadistism in his tone hanging in the air.

You sobbed harder and he just seemed the larger just as hard. The group was attempting to help but the sahodw minions overwhelmed them all. The cookie kept taunting you.

"But since you're such a cutie pie I'll just take you with me to my kingdom!" The cookie declares with a menacing chuckle.

Your sobbing grows louder and louder as the cookie comes close to you. Just as he is about to grab you a familiar feeling washes over you as does a light. Opening your eyes reveals you papa armed with his sword and his wings open in a full threating display. He uses most his power to try and stop this blue cookie but it is all in vain as the blue cookie, long with a white and red cookie manage to escape.

Using his sword for support Elder Faerie Cookie pants from the effort he exerted. Looking behind him he sees your terrified expression and his parental instincts flared up. He makes his way over to you, pulling you close to his body as he pet your hair in an effort to sooth you.

For weeks after he would have you sleep in his bed as the nightmares of being crumbled by the evil cookie never left you in peace. He would never leave your side as he guided you through your fear. Though, in his rare moments of pure solitude he regrets not keeping you safe. As you can never be left alone in the dark no matter where you are. At night, he sings you an old faerie lullaby that he infuses with his magic to give you some form of relief.

"Oh, won't you come with me? Where the moon is made of gold and in the morning sun, we'll be sailing. Oh, won't you come with me where the ocean meets the sky? And as the clouds roll by we'll sing the song of the sea. I had a dream last night and heard the sweetest sound. I saw a great white light and dancers in the round. Castles in the sand. Cradles in the trees. Don't cryI'll see you by and by," he sings as his magic fills the air while he rocks you as if you were once again a baby.

He wishes he could use his magic to make you forget but there is no such way to remove only certain memories with the magic he was slowly but surely regaining. In moments like this, he makes sure you feel him holding you, a sign that he's still with you.

He doesn't want to think of what would have happened if Shadow Milk Cookie crumbled or took you. You're his baby, from now and until Earthbread collapses. He cannot afford to dwell on what could've been, he must now focus on the present so that maybe someday his little smiling child can return.

Now he’s busy most of the time but when he has time he likes to chill with you.
