Even after settling the chaos, shit still hits the fan every time he gets done untangling one mess. heres a short (811 word) ramble about them i originally sent to a friend!!! :D

alright!! now take everything i say with a grain of salt cuz again i am just in the brainstorming part of creation lol- but basically theyre kinda based on a mix of different things (mostly the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice but also little nightmares, the distortion (tma), silent hill 2 (the rusty Otherworld part) and the dungeons of F&H). timeline wise i imagine everything taking place in the early 2000s (kinda like how people thought the world would end of the new years of 1999 lol-)

Půlnoc, goddess of destruction (she/her/it)

Poledne, goddess of creation (it/its) - It works on sort of monkey paw rules

Their story is set in a world that's been mutated and overrun with monsters under the wrath of the goddess Půlnoc, the sun is red and the blood moon is eternal, no place is safe. People begin to die out in waves as no one is prepared for this. But the world has changed, and so must they.

Mutations (referring to the monsters as well as people who had their wish granted) function on a rule of equivalent exchange. That Mutation you just saw kill your lover might be as fast as a bullet, but it's completely blind. And you might be able to bring your lover back to life, but you’ll need to sacrifice someone else's life entirely, or your own. But the wishes you make don’t always fulfill themselves in the way that you wanted, or at all, even if you have the guts to give what it takes.

A wish doesn’t have to be pleading on your knees in prayer, it can be just as simple as passively ‘wishing’ something. Wishes are granted only if the creation goddess Poledne deems it so. And don’t worry, It can hear them, whether you speak them aloud or not.

Eliaz and Lyra are both mutated due to their wishes.

Getting viciously attacked by a Mutation, Eliaz only wished to be a better hunter in what he thought were his last moments. The goddess obliged and gave him sharp fanged teeth strong enough to bite through metal, in exchange It gave him an insatiable hunger for flesh and blood. While this allowed him to live, it was painful, alone and in sorrow.

Amplified by him biting off his own tongue by accident, now being unable to even speak.

On her deathbed from a Mutation attack, Lyra wished to keep her family close to heart, and in return Poledne took her eyes. Bleeding out, her body took control and used her new-found power and stopped the hearts of her surrounding family, saving her life and ending theirs. Now all she can see is darkness and living things heartbeat, like pulsing stars in the night sky.

The plot kicks off when both Lyra and Eliaz are kidnapped into the underground hell of the Mutations nest, being kept in its lowest level. They find each other and have to crawl their way to the top, through twisted versions of the above ground and horrifying infestation of monsters.

random trivia i didnt know how to write out in a normal linear manner lol:

the underground Mutation nest as a dream-like surreal place like the fucked up versions of the world from silent hill 2. everything is also totally out of scale, either too big (little nightmares style), too small (alice in wonderland) or freakishly stretched and misshapen

both eliaz and lyra work on trust- its trust that lyra wont accidentally kill eliaz and trust that eliaz wont leave lyra behind and will protect her. one cannot survive without the other

eliaz was the one to tie a blindfold around lyras eyes as it creeped him the hell out that she didnt have any lol

even when im like messing around with their pinterest boards, they both have very distinct vibes for places and things that are the same-

humans are meat (grotesque) / humans are meat (beautiful)

this place is abandoned (haunting) / this place is abandoned (peaceful)

Eliaz (speak no evil) / Lyra (see no evil)

when the duo speaks, its with eliaz’ haunting eyes and lyras gentle voice and talk of hope. I want them to be sorta a chiméra of a duo. siblings of harsh opposites that still exist as one person in an unsettling way.

I also have this idea for a really angsty ending where lyra, just like orpheus, accidentally kills their loved one because of the soul crushing fear and paranoia to make sure they're safe.

So, when they are so close to the exit out of this hell hole, lyra in her fatigue, broken and bruised, accidentally stops eliaz’ heart in a fit of panic to make SURE they will escape.

(think of the ending cutscene of little nightmares 1 but more intense and horrifying /evil)

Day 3 - Zedaph

He'd tried to tell them that doing Demise again might be a bad idea. 

Of course they hadn't listened. He'd been fine during the original, and he'd be fine this time, right? Zedaph finally relented - but asked once again to not be put under the bloodthirsty spell. He'd be having enough problems with feeling reaper-y anyway. 

Part of him questioned what the harm was in letting Zedeath loose for a while. It was probably fine, right? Ren didn't seem worried about Grim.

...He’d just... rather not, honestly. He even handcuffed himself for the first few days. Just to be sure.
