After 4 years of work, I'm finally done with my pandemic flavored temperature scarf. And let me tell you it is a behemoth of a scarf measuring 4+ meters!
Each row represents a day going from Jan 23rd 2020 to March 23rd 2024. The color is chosen according to the number of new cases during that day.

#Minecraft#Damned#WPVG#WPMC#Oooooh you wanna tour the Institute soooo baaaddd#Lol#So some quick stats - I believe I'm currently making this at 3/5ths scale on some loooooose math#At a glance - if the floor plan is To Scale (which tbh I don't think it is lol) the institute itself is ~330x620ftsq#Tho it's weirdly shaped so honestly it's a bit hard to tell lol#There's only one given square footage on the entire map and it's an awkward 14'x16' in the Activities Shed (not featured here - yet)#So approximating in 10' blocks from there I've been putting down two Minecraft block per approximate 10'#Which if each block is a meter then two meters is a little over 6' - 6' to 10' - thus 3/5ths scale#I /think/ I am not a math gay I just have the mental illness that makes me want to walk around fictional mental asylums#It's honestly so fun to see it come together :D#Fun to walk those halls!#It's also been very meditative to lay walls and floors and ceilings and lights and the outer shell one block at a time haha#Probably the most cerebral part has been the alternating pattern in the bathrooms haha#Funnily enough this was actually inspired by some papercraft - saw some paper buildings and got The Urge#I want some kind of physical object of the institute so baaaad#Digital effigy isn't a bad alternative tho#And there's a level of exactness that can't be achieved in like - the Sims for example#(The Sims Institute my deeply deeply beloved been pulling much inspiration thank you Alana <3)#Tho the Sims /does/ have the advantage of painting one side of a wall one colour and the other side a different colour hgh#Doubling up wall thickness has been killer on keeping the internal/external sizing consistent#I've managed so far! But I am still only on the first floor#Well - the shell of the lower floor will require restrictions either way it's fine#I'm having a lot of fun with it! And also ow my wrist lol#I think it'll be a fun resource to have :) And I mean hey - it's easier to make something physical with a 3D rendering to work from yeah?#Ignoring how Minecraft doesn't have to abide by physics lol#Institute dollhouse with modular rooms and floors...... Hh..............

No yes EXACTLY, I also have the brain disease that makes me want for Sam to win and makes me become a Sam Win Truther even when things are looking characteristically bleak for him. Which I am frankly embarrassed to admit to the few other Jet Lag enjoyers I know, for some reason. Like I get the Ben and Adam love, they're so wonderful, but it's just..... Sam <3 Honestly, for all I try to rationalise why, I think I simply imprinted on him at that moment where he's standing with two grocery bags in the rain in Callais in episode 2 of Tag (have you watched That one yet? Sorry for very vague spoilers if you haven't!!!). I can't explain why, but I remember it very clearly. Alsooo I just think he's just got a specific vibe that autistic people find charming in a way others might not (source: me, I am charmed).

in my job i sometimes use ai to create deep learning models to automatically detect objects in aerial photographs. essentially this is training a computer to do a satellite captcha where it wants so find sidewalks. this kind of ai is what is actually helpful bc there are terabytes upon terabytes of aerial photography and all kinds of 3d elevation data that would be near impossible for us to analyze on our own. ai in this case is doing a job that you couldnt feasibly hire staff to do
#noaa has a dataset showing landuse/landcover for every coastal state and ALL of alaska that they plan on updating every 5 years#this data at a 1 meter scale wouldnt be possible without ai algorithms trained to detect pavement#and houses and foliage and then break down what TYPE of foliage it is based on laser reflectivity#like this is amazing stuff that actually has good use cases in adapting to climate change#chat gpt tho? no way

I need to know how long Dvalin and Durin fought,,, how long was Durin loose,,,
#it would be so funny if it was for a While and durin physically grew during that time#if dragons were actually like the myth of fish growing only to the size of the tank#and since rhine was raising (at least) two dragons in a smallish environment they remained relatively small#or at least a manageable size#but then when she let them go they had all this extra space (and food) so they grew RAPIDLY#like probably faster than natural because of abyss juice#and if their fight took multiple days or longer Dvalin was probably like uh Barbatos this guy just grew a few meters overnight...#like imagine if durin was initially just a nuisance because he was still too small to do wide scale damage#but like two days later hes public enemy number one because now he destroys buildings by looking at them funny#rhine sent them away and they were both between the size of a horse and an elephant#and she got JUMPSCARED the first time she visited Dragonspine because aint no way thats her baby#also imagine if durin kept growing (albeit slower because he's dead for now) over the 500 years because clearly the abyss#and the conditions of Dragonspine have kept him preserved and he is able to wake up eventually so...#AND AND in my mind elynas was the second born dragon so he was probably smaller at first but he's seemingly much larger than durin#which kinda would make sense here because im assuming it took much longer to deal with elynas because iirc it was people fighting hin#vs a whole ass other dragon#so he was able to grow at his Abyssal Ultra Speed for longer#methinks

W-why do my teammates get worse between Profreshional +3 and Eggsecutive VP??
Seriously, when I ranked up I constantly had teammates who only focused on splatting bosses and not at all on eggs until the last 30 seconds. Every single time we lost it wasn’t because of boss salmonid, it’s because my teammates weren’t getting eggs into the basket and allowing the basket area to get overrun >:(
I know I’m probably part of the problem somehow, but I spend my whole time playing just carrying eggs and fighting bosses solo while my team farts around somewhere else. It’s very frustrating.
