Wishing to All with a lot of gratitude ….
Happy & Safe 4th of July !!! 🇺🇸

Hidden amidst a tropical greenery, this retreat-style #interior by
@reverse.orientalism carves a calming presence in wood and stone, thus retaining harmony with its natural environment.
Following a Zen approach to interior decor, each room features minimalist #furniture, organic decorations, and ample open space that connects the interior with the nature that surrounds it.
This open theme is enabled by the floor to ceiling windows and barrier free panoramic views of the jungle that envelops us in a calm and peaceful atmosphere.
Lastly, reinforcing the connection between #interiordecor and the beauty of nature, this home is enveloped in a variety of raw textures that follow a dynamic and captivating freedom of movement.
We can observe this within the weaving patterns of the wood grains in #furniture, the rough stone walls and columns of the living room, the carpeted flooring, and in the plush seating of the couches and lounge chairs across the study room and pool area.
With #interiors such as these, one can never forget the inherent link between #architecture , #design , and the Earth.

With a single glance at this interior, one can immediately distinguish the unique square composition that guides its #design and #architecture.

In perfect synchrony with the sharp edges of this home’s exterior, @annlowengartinteriors combines #moderndecor elements that enhance the geometrical theme established by the architects.
Firstly, following a #minimalist approach the decorations and accessories are limited to elegant flower arrangements and functional yet graceful items such as sleek black ceiling fans, subtle pottery displays, circular wall accessories, and the soft presence of delicate lighting.
In this manner the emphasis is given to the quality of the materials used in furniture and to maximising the connection with nature through natural lighting, bountiful windows, and direct passages to the garden.
Moreover light wood, wicker, and rattan are incorporated into the cabinetry, drawers, side tables and into every possible surface to create a sense of cohesion.
To match the lightness of this material, the #furniture such as #couch , #loungechairs , dinning chairs, and even rugs are selected based on a light grey, white and black color scheme.
All these elements combined create a harmonious, neat, and #moderndesign that brings us tranquility simply by gazing at it.

'Space-Age McDonald's' - McDonald's at Miami International Airport (1981)
"Patrons of the McDonald's at Miami International Airport get their "break today" in an environment of tomorrow. The fast food restaurant offers more than hamburgers to elite international travelers. In a space that floats atop the four-story international arrival/departure complex, visitors are greeted by futuristic motifs that reach beyond the chain's traditional golden arches into the universe itself. Part of a satellite building connected to the airport's central facility by means of a monorail, this McDonald's has qualities of a space ship that defy earthly orientation. Six glass-enclosed floating "pods" and plaster "ice cubes" were designed to organize space, yet contribute to fluid transition between lounge, meeting room, dining area, and, yes, a bar concession operated by Marriott Corp. Transparent materials—Lucite and glass—are used in seating, tables, walls, and ceiling to achieve the effect of limitless, undefined space."
Designed by Larry Seitz Associates, Inc. & Robert Bradford Browne, AIA
Found in the April 1982 issue of Contract Interiors magazine
