Leeds United: Meslier, Bogle (Byram 90), Firpo, Struijk, Rodon, James, Piroe, Aaronson (Joseph 58), Solomon (Gnonto 83), Tanaka, Gruev (Rothwell 58).
Subs not used: Darlow, Ramazani, Guilavogui, Schmidt, Debayo. This was a classic game of two halves, in which our promotion rivals managed to get themselves in front, but ended up getting spanked in their cup final….
Daniel Farke had to make one change to his starting line up, because Ethan Ampadu has picked up another knee injury.
I imagine that Chris Wilder's pre-match team talk included instructions to pump lots of high balls into the Leeds box, because this is what Sheffield United did at every opportunity for the first 20 minutes of the game and it really paid off for them.
Two early set piece crosses were both fumbled by Illan Meslier - the second requiring an amazing goal line clearance from Ilia Gruev. A few minutes later Meslier managed to tip Callum O'Hare's header onto the underside of the crossbar, but the ball rebounded to Tyrese Campbell who headed it onto the post, from where it was somehow diverted over the line by another fumble from Meslier….
Two minutes later Meslier fumbled yet again and we almost conceded a second.
It took Leeds a while to get a foothold in the game. We did manage to create one or two chances of our own before the break, but it was a very poor first half.
Meslier redeemed himself early in the second half, when he raced to the edge of the box to smother the ball just ahead of Tyrese Campbell, who was clean through. After that he was totally solid….
Once again, Daniel Farke was more creative than usual with his substitutions, replacing Brenden Aaronson and Ilia Gruev with Joe Rothwell and Mateo Joseph with less than an hour gone.
A few minutes later, Joseph missed a massive chance after the ball broke kindly to him following a Leeds corner, but the momentum was now with Leeds, and that miss ceased to matter when Dan James broke down the right and sent in a perfectly weighted ball for Junior Firpo to head home our equaliser.
Farke then replaced Manor Solomon with Willy Gnonto, who almost scored with a shot that was tipped over the bar by Michael Cooper. Rothwell's corner was flicked towards the far post by Firpo, where Ao Tanaka was waiting to guide the ball into the net and give Leeds the lead with only a minute of normal time remaining.
After some incredible scenes of celebration, Joel Piroe sealed the points with an absolute thunderbastard of a strike shortly after the restart.
There's only one team in Yorkshire….

Tagged by the lovely @anna-hawk (Jon fandom is extremely lucky to have you BTW ♥)
1. Why did you choose your url?
Yes I just used this as an excuse to change back because I’ve been meaning to do it and I’m lazy. It started as a joke with friends that I worshiped Jon much like some folks worship Jesus and almost immediately I told them “Yep, gonna make a Tumblr URL from this” 🤷‍♀️
2. Any side blogs?
None that I use
3. How long have you been on tumblr?
Since July 2012 according to my archive
4. Do you have a queue tag?
Nope. Keeping up with a queue just seems like more work and who has the energy for that? I just like stuff I wanna reblog at some point and eventually when I’m bored I go look at my likes and reblog the shit.
5. Why did you start your blog in the first place?
My sister had also just made one and I wanted to get in on the action for access to Michael C. Hall and Dexter related stuff and thangs.
6. Why did you choose your icon/pfp?
He’s beautiful
7. Why did you choose your header?
Same reason, he’s beautiful.
8. What’s your post with the most notes?
This gifset of Jon on Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. (which just proves we all want more softer Jon content)  Also my dumbass had to google how to find my post with the most notes lmao and if anyone else is interested use this website
9. How many mutuals do you have?
No idea!
10. How many followers do you have?
Iunno, l got some
11. How many people do you follow?
I don’t feel like closing this to look but I think it’s about 300ish
12. Have you ever made a shitpost?
I’m not entirely sure what qualifies as a shit post but lbr, any text written by me is a shit post.
13. How often do you use tumblr each day?
Some days a lot, other days I don’t even look at it
14. Did you ever have a fight/argument with another blog once?
I’ve been dragged very hard for my thirst tags, one girl even had to go all the way to Twitter to CaLl Me OuT and there was definitely an explosion of shit because of her actions. IDK? Is that a fight? I get yelled at a lot by the purity police on Tumbly. I used to anyway. Now I just don’t have the mental energy to care enough to thirst tag anything, maybe I’ll find my groove again tomorrow. Or never.
15. How do u feel about “u need to reblog this” posts?
The second I read any variation of that phrase I scroll without even finishing the rest. IDGAF.
16. Do you like tag games?
I actually really love reading other people’s answers especially when the questions are something a bit different, ya feel?
17. Do you like ask games?
Same answer. (keeping @anna-hawk‘s answer)
18. Which of your mutuals do you think is tumblr famous?
You’re all famous to me. (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧
19. Do you have a crush on a mutual?
There are a lot that I’m genuinely inspired by for a variety of reasons! ♥
tagging: YOU if you’re reading this and want to do it. For serious. Just put that I tagged you because I am and I want to read everyone’s answers, thanks.

[TASK 131: ETHIOPIA]
In celebration of Black History Month, here’s a masterlist below compiled of over 320+ Ethiopian faceclaims categorised by gender with their occupation and ethnicity denoted if there was a reliable source. If you want an extra challenge use random.org to pick a random number! Of course everything listed below are just suggestions and you can pick whichever character or whichever project you desire.
Any questions can be sent here and all tutorials have been linked below the cut for ease of access! REMEMBER to tag your resources with #TASKSWEEKLY and we will reblog them onto the main! This task can be tagged with whatever you want but if you want us to see it please be sure that our tag is the first five tags, @ mention us or send us a messaging linking us to your post!
THE TASK - scroll down for FC’s!
STEP 1: Decide on a FC you wish to create resources for! You can always do more than one but who are you starting with? There are links to masterlists you can use in order to find them and if you want help, just send us a message and we can pick one for you at random!
STEP 2: Pick what you want to create! You can obviously do more than one thing, but what do you want to start off with? Screencaps, RP icons, GIF packs, masterlists, PNG’s, fancasts, alternative FC’s - LITERALLY anything you desire!
STEP 3: Look back on tasks that we have created previously for tutorials on the thing you are creating unless you have whatever it is you are doing mastered - then of course feel free to just get on and do it. :)
STEP 4: Upload and tag with #TASKSWEEKLY! If you didn’t use your own screencaps/images make sure to credit where you got them from as we will not reblog packs which do not credit caps or original gifs from the original maker.
THINGS YOU CAN MAKE FOR THIS TASK -  examples are linked!
Stumped for ideas? Maybe make a masterlist or graphic of your favourite faceclaims. A masterlist of names. Plot ideas or screencaps from a music video preformed by an artist. Masterlist of quotes and lyrics that can be used for starters, thread titles or tags. Guides on culture and customs.
Screencaps
RP icons [of all sizes]
Gif Pack [maybe gif icons if you wish]
PNG packs
Manips
Dash Icons
Character Aesthetics
PSD’s
XCF’s
Graphic Templates - can be chara header, promo, border or background PSD’s!
FC Masterlists - underused, with resources, without resources!
FC Help - could be related, family templates, alternatives.
Written Guides.
and whatever else you can think of / make!
MASTERLIST!

All the Streaming Shows Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, and Everyone Else Announced at Comic Con
For at least one day, the most interesting head-to-head battle during San Diego Comic Con wasn’t between traditional Hollywood studios, but between Netflix and Amazon Prime. On Friday afternoon, it was the two streaming services commanding the con’s attention and forcing fans to choose between getting their fill of The Boys and Carnival Row, or The Witcher and the long-awaited return of the Dark Crystal saga.
That type of head-to-head would’ve been unthinkable in the past. Heading into its 50th edition this year, the story of SDCC has been one of Hollywood gradually transforming the con into more of an all-around pop-culture festival. First, it was movie studios hosting the centerpiece panels. Then, the renaissance of superhero and sci-fi fare on TV swung more attention toward networks and cable channels.
But while Marvel capped SDCC Saturday with details about Blade, Black Panther 2, Guardians of the Galaxy 3, and the new Thor, other big studios—most notably Warner Bros. and its DC Extended Universe—skipped the event entirely. That further opened the door for streaming providers to expand their footprint, whether it was through convention programming or mounting “activations”—events and immersive exhibitions—to entice would-be viewers with a taste of the worlds their shows explore.
Of course, there’s more streaming services than ever, and it’s hard to decide which of them are worth subscribing to and which ones will inevitably fall victim to more piracy. There are many ways to decide what to subscribe to, but one way of doing it is determining how much effort the streaming services themselves are putting into promoting their new shows, and so we booked our schedules, early morning to late night, to check out all the moves, from the panels, to the parties, to the swag. Here’s our scorecard.
Tumblr media
The Expanse activation. Image: Dave Maass
Amazon Prime Video
This Year’s Shows: The Boys, Carnival Row, The Expanse, Undone , The Man in the High Castle
As if Jeff Bezos’ tentacles hadn’t already disrupted commerce and the internet itself, Amazon Prime Video has been an emerging player in the SDCC ecosystem in recent years.
From the moment a con-goer opened their badge box and saw The Boys advertisement lining the lid, it was clear that the adaptation of the comic book by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson was going to be Amazon’s centerpiece offering. Starring Karl Urban, the show imagines a world where superheroes are a carefully branded and marketed private police force managed by a corrupt megacorporation that shields them accountability, and it’s up to mere humans to take them down.
The Activation: The Boys, Carnival Row, and The Expanse each had its own section in the 60,000-square-foot Amazon Prime Video Experience complex near the SDCC grounds, with visitors plunged into their respective landscapes. At the Carnival Row section, for example, visitors were asked to draw “identity cards” listing them as Creatures (aka “Critches”) or Humans and were treated accordingly; Creatures were quickly berated by the local constables while Humans were given carte blanche as they explored the marketplace setting and Carnival Row itself—“a safehouse of ill repute” that still faced its own dangers.
At the other end of the spectrum, the activation for The Boys was a literal car wreck. When we visited, we were plunged into the show’s take on a crucial early scene from the comic-book that inspired the show, and nudged into scouring a decimated auto shop looking for clues.
The activation for The Expanse—much like the show—put visitors in a more thoughtful situation, with visitors meeting with disaffected locals in one of the show’s outer planets as part of a peacekeeping mission. During our stop, we were offered tea and a heartfelt plea for peace as well as the chance to partake in an off-the-books “business proposition.” (For the record, no actual currency was offered.)

Some of Amazon’s swag. Image: Dave Maass
The Parties: In Amazon’s case, the activation doubled as a host site by night for soirees each night celebrating each show with DJs; live-action setpieces atop its mammoth reflective tower; photo booths; screenings for each show, and the chance to mingle with cast members. On Friday night, Amazon screened the first two episodes of The Boys, where the audience got to sit with the cast while servers walked around with milk shakes and popcorn. At the Saturday night Carnival Row bash, stars Orlando Bloom and Cara Delevingne first appeared incognito in their own cosplays before revealing themselves to the crowd.
The Swag: At least some of the visitors to the Amazon complex walked away with pouch of challenge coins for each of the five shows, along with bonus prizes for doing each of the three experiences. The Expanse had special, spill-proof tumblers that would function pretty well in zero-g. Carnival Row had wearable fairy wings. The Boys gave out a special pin, and if you were lucky, you got to visit a secret comic book store and take home The Boys #66 and other assorted comics, depending on how well you did playing a game of darts.
Tumblr media
Dark Crystal. Image: Dave Maass
Netflix
This Year’s Shows: The Witcher, The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, The Order
The Panels: With not much available on The Order—creator Dennis Heaton said that filming on its second season had only recently begun—the centerpiece of Netflix’s presentation this year was the Witcher/Dark Crystal double-header on Friday. Stars Henry Cavill, Freya Allan, and Anya Chalotra showed the crowd some clips showing that Lauren Schmidt Hissrich’s adaptation of the book series is set to step into the void for fans of high-concept fantasy stories.
Meanwhile, the Dark Crystal panel had an ace up its sleeve—or rather, a Joker. Mark Hamill, who voices the evil Scientist on the prequel to the 1982 Jim Henson & Frank Oz classic, shined throughout the panel, riffing with both fans and a starstruck Taron Egerton, who yelled “It’s Luke fucking Skywalker!” at one point before giving way to an advance screening of Age’s first episode. It’s not a spoiler to say that new director Louis Letterier and his crew have successfully married the original’s puppetry with modern directing tech with enough aplomb that fans shouldn’t worry about a slump.
The Activation: Two years ago, the streaming service had a lush spot at the Hilton San Diego Gaslamp Quarter Hotel promoting Bright, Stranger Things, and what we thought at the time would be a highlight of its Marvel slate in The Defenders. It had VR, set recreations, and actors in costume–the works. But this time around, with Stranger Things on hiatus and Marvel developing its own service (one firmly integrated into its film universe), Netflix held back, only promoting a small Dark Crystal walkthrough on the convention floor.
The Swag: Netflix swag was hard to come by, but a small number of attendees scored a headband with a pair of gelfling ears.
Tumblr media
Hulu’s Orville activation. Image: Dave Maass
Hulu
This Year’s Shows: Solar Opposites, Veronica Mars, The Orville
There were a couple of worthwhile surprises for fans at Hulu’s panels: fans of Veronica Mars piled into Ballroom 20 knowing they’d get to see the first episode of the show’s fourth season. What they didn’t know until star Kristen Bell announced it was that the whole eight-episode run was available that day—a week earlier than anticipated. Justin Roiland, a creator of Rick & Morty, revealed the animatics (basically animated storyboards) from his new series for Hulu, Solar Opposites, which centers on a family of aliens trying (or not) to fit into middle America life. The best news, however, was that Roiland and his team seem to have gotten their act together, promising the audience they wouldn’t have to wait for years between seasons for either of this shows.
The Activations: Last year, Hulu recreated a New England bed and breakfast that took you through an impressive multistage haunted house experience. This year, post Disney merger, Hulu was bundled unremarkably with FX and 20th Century Fox’s installation on the convention floor.
Midway through con, Seth McFarlane announced that his space comedy, The Orville, would be moving to Hulu. A few blocks from the convention center, he transformed a warehouse space into a gallery of props, costumes, and storyboards from the show’s two seasons, as well as a photo opp with one of the series’ main monsters.
The Swag: Promoters handed out The Orville hats and the new, hardbound The World of The Orville from Titan Books.
Tumblr media
The Pennyworth party. Image: Dave Maass
Epix
This Year’s Show: Pennyworth
The Party/Activation: Perhaps it’s fitting that one of the more unsung streaming services landed one of the most unsung characters in the DC universe: Bruce Wayne’s butler, Alfred Pennyworth. Stylized as a 1950s British action spy thriller, the show features a young Jack Bannon in Michael Caine’s role.
Epix rented out the basement of the upscale Oxford Social Club, transforming it into a series of scenes presumably from the series. Upon entering, party guests were served craft cocktails (e.g. The Alfred, a “mince pie old fashioned) and ushered into drag queen cabaret. In another room, there was a photo opp, where you were strapped to a torture chair and interrogated by costumed criminals who snapped a shareable picture while a metal sceptor was swung at your head. Epix was punching well above its class with this well-articulated activation, but we’re still not quite sure what the show is actually about.
The Swag: Attendees of the party received a black eagle lapel pin if they downloaded the Epix app and a collectible postcard with a poem written in front of you by a costumed poet.
Tumblr media
Image: Dave Maass
CBS All Access
This Year’s Shows: Star Trek: Picard , Star Trek: Lower Decks, Star Trek: Discovery , The Twilight Zone
Star Trek has long been the butt of nerd convention jokes, but with the launch of the Discovery reboot in 2017, CBS All Access has moved the franchise up from a small ballroom into a 90-minute “Star Trek Universe” block. The Star Trek resurgence is welcomed, but CBS All Access still has a long journey ahead before it truly meets the expectations of one of the most demanding fandoms in the alpha quadrant.
The Activations: VR/AR has proven a perpetual challenge for exhibitors on the convention, both because of the external cacophony and because of the time it takes to swap people in and out of a headset. Star Trek took a different tack this year, installing “The Transporter” on the convention floor: essentially a solitary confinement-sized room with enclosed entirely by screens. Every few seconds, the transporter sounds would swish and you’d be in another scene. All the while, you were on film to produce a shareable social media video. Unfortunately, all we ended up with was a clip of ourselves looking confused and underwhelmed.
“Jean-Luc Picard: The First Duty,” a museum pop-up installed in an art gallery down the street, on the other hand was a delightful tribute to the Next Generation captain.
The Swag: Upon exiting the transporter experience, guests were handed a weighty metal com-badge style “Visitor” pin. The general consensus was that it was one of the better pins of the con.
Tumblr media
The Crunchyroll activation. Image: Dave Maass
Crunchyroll
This Year’s Shows: Black Clover , Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? II , To the Abandoned Sacred Beasts 5 , Dr. STONE , A Destructive God Sits Next to Me
After last year’s Comic-Con, the popular anime streaming service was acquired by AT&T’s WarnerMedia, making it kin to two other streaming services, VRV and the upcoming HBO Max. For other networks, that might be cause for worry, but Crunchyroll has put its dedicated fans (who bring cosplay to a spiritual level) at the center of its brand through anime conventions and fan documentaries. During its late Saturday night panel, the Crunchyroll team burned through its upcoming offerings, including a slew of mobile games, such as Mob Psycho 100: Psychic Battle and Attack on Titan TACTICS.
The Parties: Crunchyroll was involved in two of the weekend’s bigger parties at the swank nightclub Fluxx: Ready Party One and the Awesome Mixer Vol. 2, both of which traded on 80s and 90s style to attract fans going from the con floor to the dance floor by featuring DMC (yes, that DMC), Dan Fogler from the Fantastic Beasts film series, 80s cover specialists the Flux Capacitors, and Farscape star and singer Gigi Edgley among other acts.
The Activation: During the day, Fluxx was transformed into Crunchyroll HQ, the company’s first off-site activation. Visitors could dive into a tub of several hundred plush “bananyas,” pose with the enormous sword from Black Clover, and try out the new mobile games.
The Swag: Crunchyroll was the first to admit that its booth on the convention floor was dinky, but nevertheless it had fans coming back again and again to get one-per-day mystery pin. If you took the pin to Crunchyroll HQ, staff handed you an exclusive challenge coin.
YouTube Originals
This Year’s Shows: Cobra Kai, Origin , Impulse
Unsatisfied with its success with community produced content, ASMR videos, and the creation of “YouTuber” as an apparently legitimate job title, YouTube Originals is continuing to pursue scripted content. At its panel, Cobra Kai, the Karate Kid spin-off, announced a third season. The cast of the superpowered drama Impulse also met with reporters to discuss its upcoming second season.
The Party: Variety and YouTube Originals teamed up for a party, but we weren’t able to get in.
DC Universe
For a network with a set of shows acclaimed by fans and critics alike including the animated Young Justice: Outsiders series and the live-action Doom Patrol show, DCU had a seemingly insular approach to Comic-Con this year. Subscribers to the service received their own set of swag, including original prints; passes to a screening of a documentary on the making of Zachary Levi’s Shazam; and there was purportedly some sort of VIP boat excursion in the San Diego marina, among other items.
DC’s official presence was limited to one two-hour panel rounding up Outsiders, Doom Patrol, Titans, and the upcoming Harley Quinn animated show, which at least looks like it’ll be a gnarly romp. And the most visible sign of the channel’s footprint on the actual floor was a walk-through experience promoting the latter. They also sponsored a series of pedicabs lined up across the street. But compared to last year, when DCU had a Harley rage room and a Batman escape room, it’s tough to give the channel more than an incomplete grade for this year in the wake of Warner Bros. apparent reluctance to promote its DC film slate at the con.
TikTok
The Chinese viral video app popular among Gen-Zers dabbled in Comic-Con promotions this year, but you had to squint to see the banner attached to the back of plane circling around the convention center. There were also a handful of unremarkable branded pedicabs.
NBC
Technically, NBC doesn’t have a streaming service yet. But it’s not hard to imagine that the shows represented at the convention— The Good Place, Superstore, and Brooklyn Nine-Nine—will be expected to be centerpieces when the NBCUniversal offering launches in 2021. In terms of showmanship, the Nine-Nine installation definitely brought its A-game. Visitors were treated to not only a full “mobile office” complete with officers and cosplaying perps, but they got recruited into an escape room-style puzzle game replete with geeky touches. At the very least, this effort went more smoothly for them than the Game of Thrones panel did for the future HBO Max.
Audible
But it was another digital service, Audible, that provided maybe the most bittersweet touch of all to this year’s convention, with an activation devoted to one of Stan Lee’s final works, the audio adventure Alliances: A Trick of Light. Narrated by Grown-ish’s Yara Shahidi, fans made their way through an appropriately vivid activation that included a final message from Stan himself: “What is more real? A world we are born into, or one we create ourselves? Excelsior.”

off the rack #1218
Monday, June 24, 2018
Yesterday was a perfect fishing day. Due to scheduling and health problems I went out on my own on a cloudy morning with a slight breeze. I started out using a surface lure called a Skitterpop and had a missed hit on it after a few casts. The splash was pretty big. I waited a couple of minutes and switched to a shallow running minnow lure and cast it back to where the fish missed my popper. Sure enough, it took it and I landed a nice two pound largemouth bass in the first 10 minutes of fishing. We fishermen have appropriated the baseball term "double header" for when two people catch fish at the same time. I use the term "a double" when I catch a fish on two consecutive casts. I have even accomplished the rare "triple" where I hooked a fish and released it, then on my next cast hooked another and after releasing the second fish, hooked another on my third consecutive cast. I found a spot in the lake yesterday where I got a "home run". I landed and released 4 fish on four consecutive casts. Sure, the first fish was a little sunfish that wasn't even as long as my lure, and the other three were small bass, but man was it fun. My next goal will be a "grand slam", 5 fish on 5 casts. I even had a double later on. I finished yesterday's trip with a new high score for this year landing 26 fish, setting a new solo record. I hooked up 10 other times but the fish got off my barbless hooks before I could get them into the boat. I hope that I can convey the joy that I feel from my two hobbies, fishing and reading comic books, to you all in some small way.
Man of Steel #4 - Brian Michael Bendis (writer) Kevin Maguire (art) Jason Fabok (art pages 12 - 13) Alex Sinclair (colours) Josh Reed (letters). Superman and Supergirl engage in fisticuffs with the bad guy. There are little touches like rescuing the falling girl and someone saying "agh" in this issue that made me smile. Another hint to what happened to Lois and Jon is given and new players join the fight. The Kevin Maguire art is a bonus. I am disappointed with this story but it's not so bad that I'm not going to read the last two issues.
Tony Stark Iron Man #601/1 - Dan Slott (writer) Valerio Schiti (art) Edgar Delgado (colours) VC's Joe Caramagna (letters). I enjoyed Dan Slott's run on Amazing Spider-Man. He basically made Peter Parker a Tony Stark clone when he started up Parker Industries so I'm not surprised that he has taken over Iron Man after Brian Michael Bendis's departure. The focus now is on Tony and his multiple suits of Iron Man armour with the first big giant super hero fight against a classic Iron Man super villain. We're starting off with a lighter tone and this debut was fun to read. There's no iron hide nor hair of Riri Williams and I was disappointed, but the great art made up for that. It's nice to keep Iron Man on my "must read" list.
Batman: Red Hood vs. Anarky - Tim Seeley (writer) Javier Fernandez (art) Hugo Petrus (pencils pages 14 - 16, 18) Otto Schmidt (epilogue art) John Kalisz (colours) Dave Sharpe (letters). Prelude to the wedding part 4. Batman hires the Red Hood to shadow Selina while she's out with her girlfriends at her bachelorette party. Anarky doesn't crash the party but Selina and the girls end up at the wrong place at the wrong time. I don't read the Red Hood comic book but I might now. He's leading a team that has Bizarro as a member. That sounds cool. Meanwhile, the Joker is still looking for his invite to the wedding.
Runaways #10 - Rainbow Rowell (writer) Kris Anka (art) Matthew Wilson (colours) VC's Joe Caramagna (letters). Best Friends Forever part 4. The team tries to get Julie Power back to normal after she eats the enchanted cupcake and reverts back to her thirteen year old self. Great foreshadowing on the Alice in Wonderland cover. I liked the juxtaposition of Molly and Abigail's friendship and Karolina and Julie's relationship.
Doctor Strange #392/2 - Mark Waid (writer) Jesus Saiz (art) VC's Cory Petit (letters). Sorcerer Supreme of the Galaxy part 2. Well, that didn't take long. Two weeks for us but over two months for Stephen while being held captive by the Gryndans. I like the new sidekick. She's no Wong or Clea but she's got spunk. The Doc's space adventure continues with the next alien encounter sure to make Marvel fans happy.
Hunt for Wolverine: The Claws of a Killer #2 - Mariko Tamaki (writer) Butch Guice & Mack Chater (pencils) Cam Smith & Mack Chater (inks) Dan Brown (colours) VC's Joe Sabino (letters). I'm benching this team. Daken, Lady Deathstrike and Sabretooth don't look like they're going to find out anything of significance. This issue is just them fighting zombies and some mystery organization wanting to get their hands on Daken.
Ant-Man and the Wasp #2 - Mark Waid (writer) Javier Garron (art) Israel Silva (colours) VC's Joe Caramagna (letters). Things get even more harrowing for Nadia and Scott in the Microverse as Scott tries to reverse Nadia's blindness when the natives interfere. The art in this is absolutely amazing. If the FX in the new movie is as good as this comic book, it will be bonkers.
Avengers #693/3 - Jason Aaron (writer) Paco Medina & Ed McGuinness (pencils) Juan Vlasco with Mark Morales and Jay Leisten (inks) David Curiel (colours) VC's Cory Petit (letters). Finding out whether Loki is friend or foe to these Avengers is what's keeping me reading. He shows Captain America what's ailing Earth so that the heroes can come up with a way to save the planet. Meanwhile Thor and She-Hulk confront Odin to get answers to what happened in the distant past to make the Celestials pissed off with our planet. Jason Aaron makes this team book interesting by splitting it up into smaller groups so that it's not just one big giant fight scene. At least not yet.
Amazing Spider-Man #801 - Dan Slott (writer) Marcos Martin (art) Muntsa Vicente (colours) Joe Caramagna (letters). Dan Slott's last issue on this title is a fitting tribute to the character and all that he did writing the book for ten years. Spider-Man is my all time favourite super hero and I give credit to Dan and all the artists that he worked with for creating interesting and entertaining stories. I may have been disappointed at times but never so much that I stopped reading this book. Now we'll see what Nick Spencer (writer) and Ryan Ottley (art) have in store for us when their first issue hits the rack July 11.
Batman #49 - Tom King (writer) Mikel Janin (art) June Chung (colours) Clayton Cowles (letters). The Joker incapacitated Batman last issue and Catwoman comes to the rescue this issue. She doesn't pussyfoot around with the crazed killer and both antagonists wind up fatally wounded. Most of this issue is the two of them talking about their relationship with the Dark Knight. The potential for both of them dying is very real. Next issue is The Wedding, so you know who lives. I love when writers get into the heads of these characters.

Hellcats & Scat Packs Shoot It Out In Las Vegas!
Our favorite modern Hemi street cars invade Las Vegas to go heads up drag racing!
We are without a doubt at the pinnacle of factory performance. With the debut of the 800-plus hp Dodge Demon, the Hellcat with its 707 hp and the Scat Pack with “just” 485 hp are players in the back-up band—but what a hell of a back-up band it is. Kind of like saying Eddie and Alex Van Halen are David Lee Roth’s roadies. Putting things into perspective, the “lowly” Scat Pack 392 can click off solid 12s just as easily as going to the grocery store for ice cream. Not even the vaunted ’66-71 Street Hemi could do that in bone-stock trim back in the day. Hellcats are even quicker, cranking out 11s with stock tires at altitude and high 10s with slicks. Put the street tires back on and hit the highway with 22 mpg. Three years after the first Hellcat, we now see them regularly in the 9s with nothing but simple bolt-ons, but even that pales in comparison to the new Demon.
Dodge for their part say go right ahead and race them—we’ll cover you on the factory warranty. Who are we to argue with them? The Dodge faithful have opted into the revolution, gobbling up Scat Packs and Hellcats by the thousands. Moreover, they have actively sought out opportunities to race against the cross-town rivals at Chevy and Ford. With Chevy cranking up the heat with the Camaro ZL1 and Ford following up the rear with the Shelby GT350, it’s not uncommon to see battles break out on the street and at the track. The Dodges—especially the Hellcat—have no problem breaking hearts and taking money, so to keep things interesting, we wanted to see which guys and gals have the fastest Hellcats and Scat Packs in the land.
To do that, Mopar Muscle teamed up with Phil Painter, who puts on a shindig in Las Vegas called MATS—which most people word-associate with “Mopars At The Strip.” We created two classes: The Scat Pack Challenge and the Hellcat Shootout. Both classes run heads-up, and require the cars to be registered, licensed, insured, and driven on the street. Beyond that, any mods are allowed.
Last year at our first Vegas race, Al Jiminez won the Hellcat Shootout with a 10.96/128.8 [click here: http://www.hotrod.com/articles/srt-hellcats-invade-vegas-for-drag-showdown/] while David Boyer’s Charger cleaned up in the Scat Pack class with a 12.04/117.3 [click here: http://www.hotrod.com/articles/scat-pack-dodges-hit-vegas-and-run-11s/]. That went so well, we did it again in St. Louis for the Monster Muscle Weekend in St. Louis [click here: http://www.hotrod.com/articles/hellcats-scat-pack-392s-hit-st-louis-drag-showdown/], where Catie Schmidt took the Hellcat crown with a 10.84/126.7 and Mike Muenz took Scat Pack honors with a 12.08/114.2.
This year at Las Vegas on April 22, 2017, we continued our quest for the fastest Hellcats and Scat Packs, and once again saw strong performances. Early on, we spotted Scott Herring, Walter Escobar, and Donald Halm as top contenders in the Hellcat camp. With some serious mid-10-second timeslips, any one of them could’ve emerged victorious. And since you’re wrongly thinking it, don’t assume that 10s are slow for Las Vegas, because the altitude density, temperature, headwind, and ambient dust level is typically very high, slowing cars significantly. At the end of the day, Walter Escobar proved his mettle with a final-round performance of 10.74/132.2 to Mark Aletto’s slowing 13.38/113.6.
In the Scat Pack Challenge, Jesse Rose was the stand out all day as his Magnacharger-blown 2016 Challenger was deep in the 11s. With a trap speed of over 130 mph, Rose was clearly suffering from a loss of traction that otherwise would’ve put him in league with the Hellcats. While not as fast as Tim Hayes’s Kenne-Bell blown Scat Pack Challenger that we saw in St. Louis (10.50/131), keep in mind the far less favorable track and atmospheric conditions in Las Vegas. We think these two cars would make an awesome Scat Pack pairing if we could ever get the two together. Which brings up another point: we’ve not yet seen the East Coast guys or the West Coast guys make the journey to the opposite coast for either Hellcat or Scat Pack competition. It would be nice to see that change—especially for the West Coast guys who have a harder time hooking in the high desert. Next stop for the Hellcat Shootout and Scat Pack Challenge: the St. Louis Monster Musclecar Weekend!

Google Says #Programmatic Direct Is Due for a Rise in 2017 Most Popular Programmatic direct isn't a new thing. In fact, two or three years ago it was being touted as the future of buying and selling digital media. And for a time, those who did the touting looked foolish because programmatic direct never really became a "thing." But like header bidding, which had been around for years before finally taking off with publishers near the end of 2015, programmatic direct seems poised for a lift in 2017 thanks to renewed interest by agencies and publishers. The concept behind programmatic direct is simple: While the open ocean of digital advertising is often bought in real time, sometimes digital media buyers want to lock up particular ad inventory, especially video, on premium websites such as The New York Times ahead of time. They may want to lock in a decent price on ads they know they'll want, or just to make sure they've got the right placements for a campaign they're planning. And buying via programmatic ad tech can, in theory, make it easier to find and assemble certain consumer targets across publishers than buying with one publisher at a time. The holiday season -- a time when brands unload ad dollars specifically earmarked to reach consumers who are in a shopping state of mind -- provided a good reason for agencies to use the technology. Google said the number of video ad impressions served monthly through programmatic direct on its platforms have doubled from January 2016 through September 2016. The number of programmatic direct deals by retail advertisers executed on its DoubleClick Ad Exchange grew 2.8 times from the fourth quarter of 2014 to the fourth quarter of 2015. Although 2016 has yet to close, Sean Downey, VP of platforms at Google, told Ad Age he expects the company to see a year-over-year increase of 150% to 200% for the same time this year. "You're starting to see statistics from us saying 90 of the Ad Age 100 are using programmatic direct," Mr. Downey said. "We think as the market grows and matures that this will become table stakes for any strong marketer or agency who is trying to achieve their goals." The advance of programmatic direct reminds Michael Kuntz, senior VP of digital revenue at USA Today Network, of the growth in mobile advertising. "I can think back to five or six years ago when people were saying, 'This is going to be the year of mobile,' and that never happened," he said. "And finally, it exploded." Although Mr. Kuntz declined to share specific numbers, he said in the last six to nine months USA Today has seen "a really big upswing" in programmatic direct deals. "Frankly, the technology has now caught up to the demand," he said. "And now we can bring richer, more high impact media opportunities to our clients via programmatic direct buying channels. I think that has absolutely caused a migration away from the open exchange." But there are other factors, too. Ad blocking, fraud and the risk of appearing on a fake-news site are nonexistent or less prevalent in programmatic direct deals, Mr. Kuntz said. "I think lots of clients have woken up and they're saying, 'We understand there are efficiencies in buying through an open exchange, but I'm not so confident my ads are showing up in the right environment," Mr. Kuntz said. "I think the pendulum is starting to move away from just buying the right eyeballs in real time to, 'Yeah, we want to do that, but we also want to make sure our ads are showing up on the right content and in an environment we're comfortable with.'" Meanwhile, agencies and trading desks have helped breathe new life into programmatic direct deals. "Where we think there is a lot of power is the fact we are bringing our data and our advertiser's data to the table and saying, 'These are the audiences we want to deliver and find within your environments,'" said Erica Schmidt, managing director at Cadreon North America. "That is a key sea change and it is very different from working with publishers directly." Although Ms. Schmidt agreed that programmatic direct seems poised for success next year, she did pump the brakes. "I absolutely think this will be big in 2017, but we are in early stages," she said. "It is a philosophical change when you are going direct and there is going to be an adjustment period." Vin Paolozzi, senior VP of marketplace development and investment at Magna Global, said he's most excited about now having the ability to pass a client's audience data through Google so it can forecast how much of that audience a publisher can truly reach across its inventory. "We had some of that ability in the private marketplace, but it lacked scale," Mr. Paolozzi said. "Now we can forecast and buy as much as we need -- especially when it comes to the holidays … If you think about the opportunity with Google, to be able to match and scale those audiences, that is a powerful connection to have." Very few technology companies can compete with Google when it comes to the business of matching audiences. The company has rich data on users through its many services and Android operating system. The tech kingpin also works with nearly every publisher on the planet. Meanwhile, other publishers like The New York Times have also seen increases in the number of programmatic direct deals over the course of 2016. "We had some big deals in every quarter," said Sara Badler, director of programmatic advertising at the New York Times. "Obviously, seasonality helps, but marketers are becoming more and more interested in transacting this way." Ms. Badler added that the publication is "definitely" seeing more and more agencies moving toward programmatic direct. "I think that marketers used to think of it as just direct response. Before programmatic direct used to be standard units. Now, we're starting to see high-impact units go this way and marketers are starting to follow." "We're not just remnant inventory anymore," she said.

[TASK 057: GREAT SIOUX NATION]
Shout out to @olivaraofrph for inspiring and helping compile this task! There’s a masterlist below compiled of over 120+ faceclaims categorised by gender with their occupation and ethnicity denoted if there was a reliable source. Great Sioux Nation refers to the Lakota, Dakota, and Nakoda Sioux peoples, as well as their subdivisions within those three, and their strong political structure together at the time of European contact.
