I commend satirist Michael Spicer for adding some humour to this actual interview from earlier in the week, but the actual unedited interview is a fascinating in and of itself.

On a morning talk show, Simon Clarke, a smug Tory MP, celebrates the recent Supreme Court ruling that a woman in law is defined soley by their biological sex, and seeks to denigrate the Labour MP Dawn Butler for arguing otherwise.

When Butler points out to him that, by that rule, transmen must use female toilets, you can literally SEE him shut down as an entirely new concept enters his brain ("Wait, so there's such a thing as transMEN?") and the rest of his thoughts go into a fugue state for thirty seconds or so.

As one of this video's commenters puts it, to his infinitesimal credit Clarke doesn't even try to bluster his way out of it, he is clearly too shocked by this (obvious to most) realisation that they have to cut to a commercial break as he has nothing coherent to say and has the minimal good grace to not even try.

One has to wonder what his worldview was like after this though, sadly, I suspect it will be business as usual.
