While a lot of Political Turmoil was going on in the Philippines, an Anonymous Leak was made to the Japanese Press that the United States (US) will be deploying their new Missile Task Force to the Philippines if a War in Taiwan breaks out, which will include the deployment of offensive Tomahawk Missiles that will be used against China to protect Taiwan

The Chief of the Philippine Air Force (PAF), Lieutenant General Arthur Cordura told the Press recently that the Multi-Role Fighter (MRF) Aircraft that they will choose must be able to Land and Operate on Short Runways.
Directly quoting some of what he said, "The Specifications, I need not go to the Details but in Terms of our Selection for MRF, the CADC, our Defense Campaign Plan, our Concept for Defense entails Projection so we need to be able to exhibit credible defense in our EEZ".
He mentioned that having the Capability to land on Short or Small Runways allows quick response and flexibility in deploying these proposed MRFs, and that the MRFs "should cater to more Asymmetric Capabilities".
Here is the Link to the Article at the “Philippine News Agency (PNA)” Website: https://www.pna.gov.ph/articles/1252884
MY THOUGHTS: From what I can tell, the PAF Chief seems to be hinting of getting, or at least preferring the JAS-39 Gripen Fighter Aircraft for their MRF. All of the important “Catch Phrases” related to the Marketing of the Gripen are there, like “Short Runway Capability” and “Asymmetric Capability”.
To be Fair, other Aircraft like the F-16C Fighting Falcon and F-2 Viper Zero are able to do these also, but not at same Level as that the of the Gripen since those Capabilities are deeply embedded into the Gripen’s Design. Now if they do go out and get the Gripen, I wonder how the United States (US) President Donald Trump will react?
He was clearly hinting for the Philippines to get their F-16C Aircraft, having it approved for Sale even if the Philippines didn’t ask them, reportedly. Trump could in response deny deployment of more of their Missiles here in the Philippines.
I think though that the Philippines might hope to calm Trump down if that happens by buying other US-made Weapons Systems like the Typhon Mid-Range Capability (MRC), the High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS), and Others also.

The "Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI)" recently reported that China is now producing 100 Nuclear Warheads per Year, and their Arsenal of such Warheads could reach 1,500 by 2035.
This is the fastest rate of increase in Nuclear Warhead Production among all of the Countries that possess Nuclear Weapons. China currently now has 600 Warheads in its Arsenal, up from 500 the previous Year of 2024.
You can access the Article at the "Times of India" Website here: https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/china-adding-100-nuclear-warheads-annually-sipri/articleshow/121893995.cms
MY THOUGHTS: I just checked on Google as I am writing this Article, and not a single Philippine News Publication carried this Piece of News, so you will again likely just see this first on this Page among the Local Accounts on Social Media.
For some time, especially during the time of former President Rodrigo Duterte, China was content on keeping their Nuclear Warheads at only 500. But now with the increasing Tensions with the United States (US) and its loyal and obedient Dog the Philippines, China is raising their Nuclear Arsenal significantly.
And you can bet that some of those are already being allocated at Targets with the Philippines, especially as it continues to insists on hosting the Typhon Mid Range Capability (MRC) Missile System which is capable of firing Nuclear-capable Tomahawk Missiles.
So, ‘maghanda-handa na kayo diyan’ (you all start getting ready). We will give China a “Bloody Nose” ‘daw, sabi ng mga Pinoy na mga Aso ng US’ (said the Pinoy Dogs of the US) as if giving them a “Bloody Nose” is a “fair” exchange in them killing us.
You get killed and you only gave your Opponent a “Bloody Nose”, and they’re happy with that already? Really? And don’t give me that Drama about “Territory” when they only want to fight China and not the other Countries stealing our Territory because they’re the only ones the US wants us to fight.

The United States' (US) State Department thru their Defense Security Cooperation Agreement (DSCA) Website recently approved the possible sale of an undisclosed number of TH-73A Helicopters to the Philippines worth Usd 120 million.
The Sale includes at least one Training Simulator and several other related Equipment. The Aircraft itself will be used for Training Purposes.
MY NOTES: So, this is just another potential buy by the Administration of Bong Bong Marcos (BBM) from the US, aside from F-16C/D Fighting Falcon Block 70/72 Fighter Aircraft, Typhon Mid Range Capability (MRC) Missile System, etc.
The Bangag is really going all out with the US now. Not sure which Service in the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) this will go to, but these are bigger than the Robinson R22 and R44 Helicopters than the AFP are using right now.
I guess it makes sense since the Helicopters that the AFP now has like the AW159 Wildcat of the Philippine Navy (PN) and the T129B ATAK Helicopter of the Philippine Air Force (PAF) are bigger and more sophisticated Aircraft, hence they probably felt the need for a more capable Trainer Aircraft also.
The Bad News is that these TH-73A Helicopters also have higher Operating Costs than the R22 or R44 because of their bigger Size and Sophistication. The TH-73A by the Way is based on the AW119 Helicopter and can seat a total of 5 Passengers and Crew.
It is used by the United States Navy (USN) for their Training and is Code Named the “Thrasher” in their Service.

China now is now reportedly actively targeting the Philippines with its new class of Submarines that are armed with Hypersonic and Nuclear-capable Missiles because of the Presence of the Typhon Mid-Range Capability (MRC) System that can be armed with Nuclear-capable Tomahawk Missiles that can reach China even when fired from Luzon.
This was initially released as an Article last February 28, 2025 at https://therhk111militaryandarmspage.blogspot.com/2025/02/china-targets-philippines-new-hypersonic-nuclear-missile-armed-submarines-typhon.html

The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) very much welcomed and enthusiastically received the News of the possible deployment of another of the United States' (US) Typhon Mid-Range Capability (MRC) Missile System to the Philippines by next Year of 2026.
The Spokesperson of the AFP, Colonel Francel Margareth Padilla said that this will be a "Welcome Development", and that "the more, the merrier".
MY NOTES: So it seems that another Battery of the Typhon will be based in the Philippines. Each of these Batteries have four Missile Firing Units (MFU), with each MFU carrying four Missiles. So for two Batteries, that is a total of 32 Missiles in the Philippines.
Assuming half of that will be the Tomahawk Missiles, with the other being the SM-6 Multi-Purpose Missiles, then that’s a total of 16 Tomahawks that can reach at good Part of China when launched from Luzon.
As I mentioned several times before, these Tomahawks are “Nuclear-capable”, meaning they can be armed with Nuclear Warheads. The Versions of the Tomahawks armed with Nuclear Warheads have been deactivated and stored, and the Production for that Particular Version has stopped, but of course the Weapons can be reactivated and Production restarted in times of War.
This is why China is so against them, we literally have Nuclear-capable Missiles aimed at them. The Deployment of these Missiles in the Philippines are intentional, likely based on the assumption by the US and their Pinoy Dogs that China will not start a War with the Philippines if we have Nuclear Weapons, based on the supposed “Lessons” learned from Ukraine.
That is just an ASSUMPTION by them, of course. It is also very possible that we will be nuked and start World War Three (WW3) with these Weapons in our midst. So, does this mean the closer we are to Nuclear War, the “merrier”? Shaking my Head …

Dear Philippine Army (PA) Chief Lieutenant General Roy Galido, and also to the Rest of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) itself: To avoid confusion, stop using the Term, “Mid-Range Capability or MRC” if you don’t mean it to be the “Typhon” Missile System of the United States (US).
As far as I know, only the Typhon uses that Term, that is why it is in it’s entire Name, which is the “Typhon Mid-Range Capability (MRC)”. If you really mean other Weapons System, then use a more General Term, like “Short Range Ballistic Missiles (SRBM)” for Example which the Encyclopedia Britannica says are Missiles with a Range of around 480 km.
I think you can also use “Short Range Missiles (SRM)” to refer to non-Ballistic or Cruise Missiles with similar Range. If the PA really wants to get Missiles with only around a 370 km Range, which by the Way is not enough to reach China when fired from Luzon, then get the High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) and its new Precision Strike Missile (PrSM).
The PrSM’s maximum Range of 500 km still won’t be enough to reach China when fired from Luzon and thus won’t offend them as much, but will more than cover our Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ).

The Chief of the Philippine Army (PA), Lieutenant General Roy Galido said in a News Conference recently that they are still interested in acquiring the Typhon Mid Range Capability (MRC) System which will allow the Philippines to hit Targets in China even when fired all the Way from Luzon using its BGM-109 Tomahawk Missiles.
Galido said that it will probably take two or more Years to acquire the System, so at least until 2026 since it has not yet been budgeted for acquisition next Year of 2025. Galido also mentioned that how many Systems will be acquired will depend on the Budget they will be able to get for it.
As I mentioned in a previous Blog, I am lukewarm only in Terms of the acquisition of this System. While it is "very cool" for the Philippines to finally get to have its own of the legendary Tomahawk Missiles, I don't think they will do much of a difference overall.
As I said, Russia had already fired at least 800 of its own Version of the Tomahawk, the Kalibr, into Ukraine in the last three Years, as we can all see it has not been that decisive for the Russians.
My only hope is that China will not see as much a Threat the Philippine-owned Typhons compared to United States (US)-owned Typhons as it will less likely be armed with the Nuclear Version of the Tomahawk. The Possibility is still there, the Philippines and US could get into a Secret Agreement to do so, but it is less likely.

Philippine Military and Defense Officials have been quite vocal recently about getting the new, made in the United States (US) Typhon Mid-Range Capability (MRC) Missile System which will give the Philippines the ability to shoot down Ballistic Missiles, and hit Targets on the Chinese Mainland. Here is my Opinion about us acquiring such as System
