Nightmares and hugs

Thought I'd try something new...this is loosely based around a true story. Something that happened to a mutual friend.

Mikey Cobban x Twin sister reader

As a fraternal twin you and your brother Mikey had all the questions growing up. Do you feel each others pain? Can you read each others minds? You also had the pleasure of being referred to as 'the twins' most of your life.

You never truly believed in the whole 'twin telepathy' thing until the night you had a dream about something, something you couldn't explain.

Mikey had gone out with friends that night for drinks, you stayed home with your parents that night. Your home in Bristol, England.

It was around 3am that you started dreaming, a dream so vivid it scared you. In the dream there was a white car speeding next to you, a crash sound. Then you could hear sirens and see police lights flashing. The whole time of the dream you felt terrified. You didn't know why.

You sat bolt upright in bed in a cold sweat, breathing heavily with your heart pounding in your chest. Pounding so hard you thought it was going to burst out of your chest.

'No' you heard a muffled shout, you walked into the hallway to see your Mother in the doorway of your parents room.

'Mum, what are you doing?' You asked dazed, she just hugged you and picked up her shoes.

'Stay here, I'll be back' she said in a rush as she ran downstairs to the front door.

'Dad?' You called out, but there was no answer, you went over to the window to see your parents in the car driving off.

You felt scared all of a sudden and a little lost, not knowing what to do. You walked into Mikey's room. Seeing he wasn't there, you curled up in a ball on his bed. Eventually falling back to sleep.

...

You woke up to the sound of the front door closing, you walked out into the hallway again to find your Dad with his arm around Mikey. Mikey looked pale, in shock. He wasn't speaking. He didn't even look like he'd seen you.

'Just leave him to rest, let's have some tea' your mum said as she rubbed your back.

...

It had been a few more hours now, with no sign of Mikey still.

'Y/n? Want another cuppa?' Your Dad asked you gently, you just shook your head a little and smiled. They still hadn't told you what happened, was it bad? Did someone die? Was Mikey sick? You couldn't bare it.

'I'm just gonna go check on Mikey, see if he's ok' you said as you stood up.

'Y/n, be gentle' your mum replied as you walked up the stairs.

You knocked gently on Mikey's door waiting for a response, with a muffled 'yeah?' You stepped in.

'Hey mate, you ok?' You asked, Mikey sat up on his bed welling up a little.

'Y/n' he said as he burst into tears, you didn't say anything else and rushed over to him, sitting on the bed hugging him tight. Mikey just sobbed into you.

'It's ok, I'm here' you whispered as you hugged him tighter.

'I was so scared' he cried into you more, you just kissed the top of his head gently.

'You're ok, you're home' you choked a little at the end. You'd never seen him cry like this before. As twins you share all emotions with each other, emotions you wouldn't let anyone else see. But this was different.

'We were driving down the road, this white car started speeding upto us. Ramming into the side of us, trying to run us off the road. We crashed, nothing too bad we were all fine. The police and ambulance came, the driver got away. Y/n I was so scared' Mikey said, as he wiped his tears away, you hugged him again.

'It's ok, you're safe now. You're safe' you whispered in his ear.

'I love you sis' Mikey said, you smiled as he returned the hug.

'I love you too' you replied sincere.

The dream you had last night played on your mind a lot that day, as it was almost like what happened. Maybe you guys did have some kind of telepathy. All that matters right now, is making sure your twin, your best friend, is safe.

I feel like I never say what I'm up to or (apart from in tags sometimes) how I'm doing on here anymore.

Sorry I'm finally doing so with such a negative update, but to put it lightly, I've had a really crappy week emotionally. It's technically nothing major, but a band I really really loved broke up, in a way that wasn't pretty, and I've been quite upset about it. (For anyone who might be worried that I haven't talked to about it yet, it's no-one I list in my bio) Think I've only mentioned them a few times on here, but it was a boyband from the UK called RoadTrip.

To any Roadies who are seeing this post, I'm so sorry. You must feel awful right now, and this really sucks, but we will get through it. Feel free to message me if you wanna talk about it 💜

He Makes You Feel Better When You’re Down (Mikey Imagine)

You were a bit down, for whatever reason, you didn’t even know. Your tears just wouldn’t stop. You hear the door open and quickly wipe them away trying to look and act as normal as possible. Mikey wasn’t falling for it though, as soon as he saw your face, he knew something was up.

“Baby, what’s the matter?” He asked. You quickly shook your head, trying to deny the obvious. “Babe, you can’t hide from me. I know when you’re sad. Now what is wrong?”

“That’s just the problem,” you choked. “I don’t know what’s wrong. I can’t even figure it out myself. I just feel sad.”

“Baby, you know you can come to me anytime. Even if you don’t know what’s wrong. I mean, I’m no licensed therapist, but I can be there for you ANYTIME you need me,” he assured you, rubbing your knee, gently. You nod and throw yourself into his arms and he squeezes you into a tight hug, “I love you,” he whispers.

“I love you too,” you answer.
