So we know Yugi prefers chess, and Bakura seems to enjoy tabletop games, but what are the games the rest of the squad likes that aren't Duel Monsters?
It's most accurate to say that Yugi loves all games, and is better at chess than he is at Duel Monsters. He likes Duel Monsters better BECAUSE its still a challenge for him, so it's still interesting, whereas chess has gotten boring. Yugi loves any game he can dissect and examine and generally chew on like a bored rottweiler.
Bakura likes RPGs, tabletop or otherwise. What he REALLY likes is world-building, and D&D and similar games let him show that enormous, complex world living in his head to his friends.
Yami/Atem also likes RPGs, but the part he likes is the Improv Theater. Being King is one part policy to nine parts convincing everyone to go along with it, and Atem is VERY good at putting on a show.
Joey likes Probability games- gambling really. Addiction runs in the family and Joey is well aware of this so he's cornered the thrill into the relatively low-stakes game of Duel Monsters. ...and the stakes of Duel Monsters got higher than any Casino.
Tea's a wild jock, a swan living with a flock of ducks. She loves physical games like Dance Dance Revolution or Regular Sports.
Tristian likes Tactical Wargame Simulators, like Warhammer. The rules might be excessively complex, but they MUST be adhered to, and this brings him a sense of peace.
Ishizu is the odd duck in that she isn't much of a Gamer. Between the Millenium Tauk giving her IRL cheats and the ungodly amounts of trauma she has about her family and the entire history of duel monsters, games aren't fun, they're stressful. Give her a dig site to hyperfocus on any day, but if she really MUST pick a game? Power Washing Simulator.
Marik really does love Duel Monsters, but his real game is Diplomacy. Not the thing ambassadors do, the tactical game of Diplomacy, in which players spend days at a time on a single session forming alliances, forming secret alliances, forming super-secret alliances, betraying each other, making up, betraying each other again and crafting the perfect psychological strategies to achieve their win conditions.
Odion's preferred game is Organized Crime, which is like Diplomacy, but actually less complicated and a lot funnier.
Mai Valentine's preferred game is Disorganized Crime, which is like Regular Crime, but with a Direct Objective to sow chaos by pitting the organized factions against each other and vanishing in the smoke.
Mokuba's favorite game-game is Capsule monsters but as he grows, he realizes the thing he likes about capmon is the cost-benefit analysis and that rapidly spirals into a deep passion for Actual Economics.
Seto's game is, first and foremost, Duel Monsters. It was his First, Only and Eternal love, and despite appearances (and his protestations), the man is a hopeless romantic.

gn! Reader I some gore I angst I just a short lil' drabble I can be read platonic or romantic
Your betrayal happened slowly.
There was neither that one dramatic moment that revealed your true intentions, nor a complicated scheme reaching it's end. It was merely an accumulation of barely noticeable sabotages and data breaches.
Things were never supposed to end this way.
But Iscariot - no, the face of your whole church - had changed into something unrecognizeable, something so vile and malicious that your conscience couldn't possibly identify with anymore.
Each and everyone of them had long since stopped serving the true faith, let alone the word of your Lord and Savior. Instead they were twisting the religion to fit after their own sick and selfish desires, leaving a trail of suffering and carnage with no regard of the consequences.
Nonetheless, those people were your allies, friends, the closest thing to a family you might ever have. Indirectly harming them was eating you alive, and yet there was no other way to keep them from committing further sin against innocents.
It started with you secretly slipping informations to the enemy, like that one time you informed Sir Integra that the Judas Priest would invade their area in Ireland.
Anderson noticed early that there was a traitor amongst their rows, his methods of finding the leak unnecessary cruel and without method...
...not once he suspected the informant could be you, though.
At some point however you unveiled Maxwell's plans of using the mayhem caused by Millenium to purge England instead of liberating it - and much to your shock the only person you dared confiding in was already well aware.
After confronting Anderson about this insane operation without him showing any hint of hesistance or remorse, you fled and never looked back, seeking refugee at the Hellsing manor.
Even Alucard's new weapon, forged with the sole purpose to destroy the regenerating priest, had been directly built after the top secret files you had stolen for them.
Too late for any regrets now, you were already in far too deep. You always knew that shall you ever meet again, you'd inevitably find yourself at the other end of his bayonet - and you had made peace with that fact.
Everything has led you to this moment of absolution.
You had been separated from what was left of the Hellsing organization, worn out by aimlessly slaughtering yourself through both nazis and crusaders in this neverending war.
Eventually you just had to run into your former brethren - but for the Paladin himself to cross paths with you was an irony of fate only God could understand.
They say every human has a cardinal sin their soul is especially prone to, and for Anderson that sin has always been wrath.
A flash of recognition made his face drop shortly before his whole stance tensed again, expression contorting through several emotions at once.
He was oozing bloodlust from every pore, like water from the little stream near the orphanage you wished to see again so dearly. You had witnessed this state of his so often yet it had always made you feel oddly safe - but then again, it was never directed to you before.
The priest was calm, too calm for the situation at hand, but you knew him better than that: Beneathe the surface he's close to bursting from all the hatred and rage that's been rotting him from the inside like the poison it is.
He mutely, pitilessly raises his weapons as you fall to your knees in sheer exasperation, the cold stones a huge contrast to the otherwise burning city. You want to explain yourself, cling to his coat and beg his forgiveness - but at the same time you knew you had no right to.
So you decided to gift him one last, heartbroken smile before lowering your head in defeat, voice only a breathless whisper as you apologized for having caused him such trouble and pain.
You wince as you sense the momentum of his blade, but much to your surprise the blow failed to deliver. No, that wasn't right either. It hit the target it was meant to - right into the visage of a SS soldier that had lunged at you from behind, splitting his skull in two.
Anderson's judging stare never left yours as he pulled the weapon from the bloodied carcass, wiping the steel clean on his cassock. For a moment he just stands there, gears in his head visibly turning before he wrings out a shuddered exhale, shaking his head.
He walks past your frozen, trembling self until he turns around one last time, eyes softening ever so slightly. You see his mouth open and close several times in an attempt to vocalize what he had bottled up ever since you left - but even after all that happened, the fact that he missed you so excruciatingly much outweighted anything else.
Ultimately, he feels sorry for having driven you to do this, and even though he cannot forgive you he understands. Yet all he could bring himself to say is:
"Get out of my sight, apostate. Go save yourself."

Hellsing OC Masterpost

(Sorry if this post makes zero sense..)
The general premise:
The Doctor was actually somewhat successful in his endeavors (aka, some things do survive the fire Walter starts, just not all); through some sort of fireproof safe or capsule that had kinda the bare minimum of the information of what they were doing.
Flash forward many years later, some individual (name still undecided) knows about the US Cabinet being attacked by vampires instead of just normal terrorists (most likely through witnessing) and goes into a deep dive, pretty much just locking themselves in a room and obsessing for years over ever nitty-gritty detail they possibly can get their hands on to learn more about Millenium.
This individual becomes extremely good at hacking and eventually starts getting into US and UK government files, finding out the existence of Hellsing, Morris Co, the London Attacks. (Which, we know some files of these do exist, as we see Penwood Ill studying them before sparring Integra at the end of ultimate)
Eventually in their search, they find The Doctor's notes on creating artificial vampires, and their plan to create a weapon as powerful as Alucard. They feel this is exactly what they were looking for, and decides to try to recreate millennium's work.
They recruit people using the internet (think like, the riddler from the 2022 Batman movie) and effective create their own terrorist organization. At some point, they download their consciousness to a computer in an attempt to become untouchable. They believe that that vampires are superior to humans in every way, and want to take over the world to create a society where vampires reign and humans are just livestock.
By the year 2031 (so pretty soon after Alucard comes back), they are slowly being found out, as missing people from the US are unexplainably showing up in Britain as ghouls/vampires (and vice versa, but not explained until later).
Hellsing decides to go to America to investigate, Quickly Gets Figured Out by the Air Traffic Control because it is no longer the 90s and air traffic is much more strict now.
Since Hellsing works under the British crown, Integra is told Hellsing is able to investigate in the states under one condition: they work alongside America's own vampire hunting operation: Morris Co.
(The characters of Morris Co are meant to be ‘mirrors’ of those in the Hellsing organization.)
Morris Co:
(Since Quincey Morris was shown being dead at one point; I basically just added in ‘he left behind a son’ and made Quincey Morris a widower (which is why he proposed to Lucy))
Morris Co is a very similar organization to Hellsing, dealing with any supernatural threats that threaten the US. It was founded by Quincey Morris, and gained a reputation after he captured and sealed away ‘The Headless Horseman.’ After Quincey’s death assisting Abraham Van Hellsing in capturing Dracula, his son, James Morris, took over the company.
Inspired by the the Hellsing Organization’s idea of using Count Dracula (Alucard) as their own personal weapon, James decides to unseal the monster his father had captured for the same purpose. He coins the name ‘Bishop,’ which the horseman uses from then on.
The present-day head of Morris Co is Elizabeth Morris, the granddaughter of Quincey Morris. The organization works closely with the CIA, and receives large sums of money from the government.
Elizabeth Morris:
As stated before, Elizabeth Morris is the head of Morris Co as Quincey Morris’s ancestor.
Unlike Integra, she keeps a much more hospitable and ‘professional’ attitude, similar to talking to someone in an office setting.
Her position as a leader is completely influenced by her father, as she blindly does everything in a way that she thinks he will approve of rather than her own opinion. Her father is willing to put her men and civilians lives in danger for the sake of protecting Morris Co’s reputation and continue receiving government funding, and in turn so is she. Slowly over time it would become apparent that she isn't truly passionate for the cause, but rather she fulfills the role her father set for her because she feels like she has to.
She serves as Integra's mirror as someone with questionable authority and blind devotion to her father, which contrasts Integra's strong leadership and independence.
Bishop:
Bishop is Morris Co’s ‘Trump Card,’ a willpower vampire that once roamed the west under the title of ‘The Headless Horseman.’ (More notes on how that works in the pic)
Bishop’s backstory follows a similar story to the story of the Headless Horseman, an American Revolutionary War soldier gets his head blown off by a canon in the battlefield. However, all the blood flows to him and he becomes a Willpower Vampire, and his head regenerates ‘wrong’ (like Seras’s arm). He spends many years wandering around the US as an undead legend before being defeated by Quincey Morris. He is sealed away in a locked coffin for many years before James Morris unsealed him.
He can take the head of a dead human and ‘posses’ it, to which the human’s features will contort to his own. However, the hair will always be white no matter what form he takes (like he had gotten marie-antoinette syndrome). This is why he’s seen with a perfectly normal head with a ‘seam’ at the neck.
He is under a much tighter leash than Seras and Alucard are: he does not talk back or push buttons, (in fact he doesn’t speak unless spoken to) he and Elizabeth only talk to each other in a very professional manner, and he is sealed away in a casket locked from the outside unless he is needed for something. Bishop lives at the base 24/7, while Elizabeth has a true house near it.
His treatment is made to remind Alucard of how he was most likely treated by Abraham and/or Arthur. He is Alucard’s mirror as a character at war with his own desires for blood whose humanity slowly starts to show in small ways similar to what we see in Alucard in Ultimate; though his worldview are very 'similar but opposite’ to Alucard’s as they are mainly based around humanity’s greed rather than it’s struggle for power. He'd mainly serve as a way to push Alucard to directly question his old self post time-skip.

An Important cohost Post, Recreated on Tumblr
(Original Publication Date: August 16th, 2024)
I got pretty distant from my dad once my parents split up. He wasn't really all that great to me, but he was trying his best, and he had anger problems like me. All the same, I sort of understood, and thought maybe after the decade apart, I could forge a new relationship with him.
This is a story about how getting invested in stories causes them to find new ways to suckerpunch you. About how character creation does deeply impact how you experience a game. And about how grief is like having twisted an ankle when you were twelve: You think everything's fine and then you do something weird and it hurts all over again.
This is a story, about Ruva Fjura, Warrior of Light.
Content Warning: Final Fantasy XIV Spoilers, Heavensward Spoilers, depictions and discussions of death, discussions of trans identity and grieving.
I've been getting into Final Fantasy XIV recently thanks to the introduction of Hot Cat Women (I am predictable.) A few years before this, I had made an attempt to play FFXIV when I was really itching to play WoW with my friends. Legolas Lordofthering did not inspire a connection to the story. This time, now that I could play as a species that I could feel connected to, not a smoothskinned human-alike, but a real anthro Lady… Since, when I bought the game, I was given a free month of sub, a month before Dawntrail's actual release, I decided to fold that into my WoL's backstory. Ruva Fjura is a trans hrothgar, seeking to adventure to earn the gil to afford the expensive body-changing medicine Fantasia.
I even made sure to take a screenshot of her very first dress.
Ruva would, over the course of A Realm Reborn:
clean up a little,
and polish her look as she set forth to defend Eorzea. (Don't tell anyone, but relatively early on I start using plugins, so everyone appropriately addresses Ruva with the correct pronouns. Shoutout to PrefPro!)
Originally I'd intended to use the Magic HRT that is the Fantasia potion right at the border between A Realm Reborn and Heavensward, because I'd tried to play the game a few years ago and knew the story beat there makes a good point for an identity update… but having accidentally blitzed the story of ARR in 2 weeks, and having more time still to play before Dawntrail drops, a few friends suggested another story point I was likely to get to by the time Dawntrail dropped:
Right after the Vault. (For those of you who already know what happens in the story, you can see where this is going.)
Now, I don't always remember to screenshot things, and my screenshots aren't particularly well-organized, so I don't have a lot of visual material for my man Haurchefant. You first meet him during a segment of A Realm Reborn when you're attempting to locate Cid's airship, and dealing with the Ishgardians. While they're mostly religious isolationists at this point, Haurchefant welcomes you rather more warmly and openly, to the best his ability and rank can afford him to. You assist him a few times, and he is consistently the most helpful hand and face in the whole of their region.
It's under his guidance you're able to escape from the major regions after being framed for assassination, to House Fortemps, the house he calls home as a knight and bastard son. (Ishgard has some of that Noble Houses stuff going on.) He's super chill. He's a bro. You interact with him a lot during Heavensward.
Ruva ventures forth in the surrounding region of Coerthas, assisting Ishgard with trying to end a war that has lasted a millenium, makes enough money to purchase an apartment, decorates it for her friends, and, one night, stops and gets to think:
"Soon, I won't be trapped in this body any longer."
It's the night before the servers drop for The Maintenance That Installs The New Expansion, and I finally come to the Vault. You're trying to save a different person, Ser Aymeric, who's been INSTRUMENTAL in keeping you safe and helping sort things out in Ishgard from being captured and possibly killed trying to confront his father. I ask my friends to assist, since this is the last thing I'll be doing narratively before Ruva Fjura finally gets her magic HRT shipped in. (Mechanically I've had the consumable since before the end of A Realm Reborn, but narratively.)
You join him to run off after your friend, but suddenly, an enemy knight who had been standing on the tower walls of the building behind you launches a spear of light your way. Haurchefant tries to do his best to intercept it, defend you, block it with his shield, but…
It's too powerful.
The wound is too deep. Your companions' best healing cannot hope to stop his injuries enough to heal him. You're here in his final moments.
He looks up at you, and delivers the line that nobody in my friend group, myself included, could have predicted would utterly decimate me.
"Oh, do not look at me so."
This is one of the most famous lines from Heavensward, involving to my experience on of the biggest character deaths in the series. It's touching, but on its own it probably would not have hit me as hard as what happens next. Because he says this, and the camera immediately cuts back, to Ruva.
Pre-HRT.
... ... About two years before I started playing Final Fantasy XIV, my father died suddenly. The details aren't important, but given that I had never had a great relationship with him growing up, I didn't feel that loss as much as my sister, and the rest of my family, did. Atop this, it takes a lot to make me cry, just because of the kind of person I am. I can feel strongly, but I usually just feel tense, and achey, and anxious, far before any tears flow.
A year ago, I had started really started feeling out how I expressed and embraced my gender in real life. Slowly, but more than I'd done in the previous three decades. I'd started wearing dresses, changed hairstyles, dyed my hair, asked my family to call me Astra rather than my birth name. I didn't get to show my father this side of me. I started this journey after his death. He never got to see me be who I really want to be, who I really am. And- And I just-
And that potion is in-transit, it's coming tomorrow, and this man, this close companion, an elezen who has never treated me as anything less than the woman I have always been, who sees The Warrior of Light and thinks 'friend', is dying. He is dying right in front of me, and his final words are commenting on a face that doesn't feel truly mine! He never got to see me be who I really want to be, who I really am-
I sat there. In the voice call with the friends who had assisted me in that dungeon run, who I'd been sharing my experiences in the game with, who had told me to make these cutscenes the last thing Ruva did before Dawntrail's release.
And I sobbed.
----------------------------------------
A few days pass. Dawntrail drops. I log in, use the Fantasia, and log out so I can enter the options. I fiddle with the character creator to get that final polish. I make the Ruva Fjura I bought this fuckin' game to play as. I log back in.
Before I do anything else, I travel to the highest point I can get to in Coerthas. Nothing else matters. I have taken the fantastical gender potion, Ruva has finally achieved that which she first started adventuring to achieve. And she has to get as close to the heavens as she can.
I have to make sure he can see.
----------------------------------------
I have fallen into becoming a tank main. I'm a Dark Knight main, though I play most every tank. (It's a little near-impossible, playing a properly effective healer on controller.) I have helped end a war that has lasted a millenium. The head of House Fortemps has gifted me a shield bearing the crest of his household. It is the same sort of shield that my closest friend once used trying to protect me.
In the background is a browser window with information on informed consent clinics within my area, as well as the price of various estrogen medications. The shield I have obtained completes a set I have since worked to put together. I will not lose anyone else without them having seen me for who I want to be. For who I really am.
I will never forget him. I will always honor how he has touched my life.
... now if only Paladin wasn't the most awkward of the tank rotations-

Whether through force of Fate, Song’s machinations, or sheer Chance, Rose’s path cross with Jayson’s after a powerful family entrusts him with the representation of a client framed by the very police who killed his partner. When the family pays Jayson with membership into the secretive and immensely profitable Pyramid Club, he is jolted by the sight of Rose singing on stage at the Club – a haunting embodiment of his recurring dreams, bearing her unmistakable compass rose tattoo. The Club’s unprecedented success rests on the shoulders of Easton Card, Rose’s surrogate father, Club co-owner, and architect of the Song AI. But Easton has kept Song secret from Rose, and, based on Song’s portents, he knows time is running out for him to shift Rose’s future away from danger. The delicate balance shatters when Esri, a formidable cybercriminal with captivating golden irises, uncovers Song’s existence and covets its power. Driven by a ruthless thirst for dominance, Esri launches a devastating assault on the Pyramid Club, culminating in Easton’s execution and triggering the emergency deactivation of the AI. Dark Imperium #7
Some fun stuff in this one (fungus zoom call and guilliman's fancy dinner)!
oh! is it???
is it??????
it is!!! hi mort!!!!!! okay happiness over let's look at what's going on
LOOK AT THIS AAAUGGGGHHH
how can you hurt me in this way, haley, ow ow ow (for those who are wondering what's up with me lmao well think about Barbarus) the organic parts of the Endurance (of which there are many) are full of disease however
also it rains acid
FEEL THE RAIN ON YOUR SKIN NO ONE ELSE CAN FEEL IT FOR YOU ONLY YOU CAN LET IT IN the linkin park version of "unwritten" mortarion is as happy as he ever is, and he stretches out his moth wings and takes off sorry "giant fly wings" i think moth is cooler
why is this so funny to me you hear VRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR and then 20 foot tall dude t-posing just floats past you in the air
it's time for mortarion to go to his room which has KEEP OUT on the door (it doesn't, it's just for practical purposes that way) hey let's hear about morty's hobby some people collect minis, morty collects…
clocks and also
iiit's Necare! mortarion spent like a millennium hunting him down milennium millenium i sweare not one of these looks right and spell check is suspiciously silent ON ALL OF THEM and now it's time for the fungus zoom call i love fungus zoom call
on the one hand, i don't want to touch this with a 10ft pole on the other hand, it would make zoom calls more interesting so we got Typhus and Ku'Gath on the call Mortarion: muahaha the time is at hand, now that Guilliman is coming back Typhus: you're a dumbass. you should have finished this before he got back Mortarion: no you don't get it Typhus I have to kill Guilliman!!!! what's a kingdom without a king? Typhus: rolling his eyes Typhus: you need to move on, man Mortarion: I have! Look at me now! Typhus: lol. lmao. You're a trophy for Nurgle. You didn't pay for your power. Also, oh yeah, you owe everything you have today to me, I'm the one who actually put in effort, you just sat there like a typical primarch Mortarion: curb your insolence Typhus: or what? again typhus has really grown on me one might say like a fungus Typhus: Neener neener neener, Grandpa likes me better than you also i said this the first time I read this, but I also felt like the Nurglites had their own twisted version of Christianity to match the Imperium's
Mortarion: don't try to tell me what to do. You're working with me on this Typhus: the hell I am. You don't have any power over me any more. If you managed to get that fact through your thick skull then maybe we'd be able to reconcile
im barely adding stuff to my paraphrases, as you can see Typhus: okay it's nice that you're turning to the warp more, but your numerology is wrong. I'm not coming Mortarion: are you also against me, Ku'Gath Ku'Gath: no, I actually think this will work. Let's do this for Nurgle!
Mortarion vibes with Ku'Gath because they're both miserable Ku'Gath gets excited as he talks about the disease he is going to create but Morty needs to buy him time to make it and zoom call over
i can't make this stuff up this scene was gold
"you're the only one who understands me, Silence" Mortarion has a heart to heart with dear old dad
there's a lot to unpack here but i want to throw away most of the suitcase, it's got black mold spores in it "with guilliman gone, the imperium will be doomed" just keep telling yourself that
Sky: This scene is fun, but I have to be honest, I don't know why Morty is fixated on Guilliman like this. I mean, strategically, I get it, but this seems strangely personal
I don't think they ever fought during the Heresy? Have they ever even had an on-page conversation before this series?
Bluejay: they haven't, lol I think Guilliman is basically just representing all the loyalists to Morty here i don't think Morty even thinks about Guilliman, ever
Lore: Except he secretly was thinking of him all this time, because… Drum roll please The Ultramarines are THE GREATEST OF THEM ALL
Sky: Of course they are, their Spiritual Liege is The Greatest Primarch
we're back to Guilliman POV he's thinking about the changes to the Fortress of Hera since his time it's all built up now also the scars of war are on maccrage okay so big event, the works, to welcome guilliman back, on a dark and stormy night fireworks etc
five custodes, four s o s, three victrix, two named captains, and a partridge in a pear tree
everyone waits Guilliman: I have returned that's all he says lmao calgar and guilliman talk yes in the rain sisters of silence get some named, i can't remember which of these two is Voi …or maybe Voi isn't one of them Bellas and Aphone (notes)
lol this is also hilarious to me after reading the Ventris books well okay im still in the middle of the third one lol agemmann (sp?) has a heart to heart with ventris during his trial about breaking the codex and talks him into not even trying to defend himself and just going to be executed because one person breaking the codex means the next thing you know the ultramarines are going to become roving pirates for real, it would have been great to have some ultramarine POVs on obeying the codex vs what guilliman says and conflict because of that
time for big meeting now guilliman says he doesn't want any food rip for any of the people travelling with him if they're normal humans and hungry so, they brought one of guilliman's old chairs out of storage for him to sit on they treated all his stuff as holy relics meanwhile guilliman just sees it as…a chair which feels so weird to Calgar oh!!! mortifactors are here! you know, come to think of it, Haley does a lot of these bait and switches in this series i don't mean that in a negative way, it's a device he's using i'm going to provide the whole passage to demonstrate what I'm talking about
so, sounds like Calgar is disappointed that Guilliman is acting like an autocrat, right?
that was the bait now it's time for the switch
yes, his issue was that people didn't just all automatically perfectly obey guilliman, so he had to make them
Lore:
This feels a bit like copium, and rationalizing everything Guilliman does as good so Calgar can keep on believing in the Primarch. It also justifies everything bad Calgar has done in the past (since even Guilliman would have done the same thing), which is the part giving me the copium feeling. I kinda wish and also dread that they put up an opposing voice to this mind-set. Uwoma Kandawire in "Valdor : Birth of the Imperium" sort of did this with her belief in civilian oversight of the government as opposed to military rule. However, I'm guessing that the editors or GW or BL would force the narrative to either trample all over the opposing voice or have the voice corrupted by Chaos because the Imperium has to be the way it is and no other way is viable.
okay guilliman is going to give a speech for all the military dudes and delegates
oh the next bit is pffff pfffffffffffff
im cackling loudly in my room rn im trying to think of ONE other that qualifies besides Ultramar uhhh Inwit?? maybe???
can anyone think of another one? and also ultramar was not really lauded most people just didn't care
Sky: If nothing else, I'm glad for more proof that the GC was run as a bunch of a feudal fiefdoms divided among the Primarchs
Lore: I'm just chuckling that they literally called themselves "the very best". Granted, Matt Ward's Ultramarine books had themselves calling the "the greatest of them all" as well, so it's not really knew but to see it in canon writing brings it home that these boys are insufferably Roman.
i mean we got Nostramo, which was Nostramo, Nuceria, which EVERYONE for some reason completely forgot to actually make part of the imperium and no im still not over that feudal fenris, strip mining all over caliban and it being completely ignored by lion, olympia being treated as human resource factory by perturabo…. etc etc etc
we're going to save Making Ultramar Great Again for the next post!

Godzilla Design Runway: Tristar/Millenium
Today I'm covering Godzilla's appearance from the first design to use CGI to the last film to use suitmation. Photos sourced from Wikizilla.
Chinzilla (1998) Ground zero for Raptorization, though his gangly proportions feel closer to a Xenomorph at times. Either way it doesn't suit Godzilla: what works at theropod size doesn't scale up well to a Daikaiju, and ToraGoji lacks the sturdy, pyramidal build that grounds the traditional suits. The design is also awkwardly front heavy, with the forward swept dorsal plates, broad shoulders, and lantern jaw.

Big Head Mode (1998) While giving Godzilla children is usually a way to develop his character, Emmerich seems more invested in aping the raptor scenes from Jurassic Park. As a result the Baby Godzillas are much more vilified than their predecessors, though their menacing features are undercut by their disproportionate, stick-figure builds.
DailyDose (1999-2000) A pretty radical reinvention of the King of the Monsters that still retains the spirit of the character. Channeling KingGoji, the first Millenium suit opts for a more reptilian visage, with its green skin, less upright pose, and crocodilian maw filled with jagged fangs. Its gigantic, crystalline dorsal plates are wholly original, rounding off a unique and iconic package, While it's not my preferred take on the King of the Monsters, I respect it immensely.

ThanksDoc (1999) Orga has one of the more unique builds among kaiju. Its hulking, brutish form is an ironic contrast to its pensive, cautious approach. It's a bit ungainly for my taste, but I can't deny it works in the context of a runaway mutation.

Godzilla Wants the Flamethrower (1999) We see very little of Orga's second phase before it is blown to smithereens. The mouth net is certainly unnerving and I like the rougher skin texture, though it's only a copy of MireGoji's. Ultimately it's more of teaser for further transformation than it is a complete design.

GojiMosuGhidoGoji (2001) The most villainous looking Godzilla design, GMK's squared off muzzle and empty gaze are instantly recognizable. While the more upright stance combined with the neck orientation gives this Godzilla rather poor posture, it helps enhance his menace though his distinct "skulking" silhouette.

Perpetual Perplexion (2002-2003) A solid synthesis of Miregoji's build with more traditional features. While KiryuGoji loses some of the originality of the first Millennium suit, its less fearsome face has unprecedented ability to emote. The amount of animatronics they crammed into that head is impressive: I think the Kiryu Duology may have been where Suitmation peaked at Toho.

Mechagodzilla Unit 03 (2002) While I've come to prefer the original's Tin Can charms, Kiryu was my favorite version for a long time. Instead of sleek futurism or whimsical retrofuturism, Kiryu grounds itself in the Real Robot genre with its detailed, plausible mechanical design. Appropriately resembling both a skeleton and a suit of armor, Kiryu's flexible, organic structure also deserves props for its functioning tail.

MFS-03Z Kai (2003) While its film isn't as good, I actually prefer Modified Kiryu's more streamlined, color-coordinated battle pack and railguns. That said, I miss the Absolute Zero Canon, and while the drill hand is fun, it feels a bit mechanically dubious for an otherwise grounded design.

Absolutely Zero Chill (2004) While the prior Millennium Suits retained surprising mobility given their bulk, the Final Godzilla suit is slimmed down for maximum flexibility and athleticism. Unlike some of its costars, FinalGoji still avoids an overtly humanoid build, instead evoking later Showa suits with extra muscle. It's demeanor is decidedly less Showa: with furrowed brow, piercing glare, and grimacing sneer, FinalGoji looks the most furious of any Godzilla. It's an eclectic mix of features, but impressive nonetheless.

The Relapse (2004) Somehow Minilla returned. While his most displeasing features have been smoothed over, he still resembles a Barney character more than anything Godzilla adjacent. Ultimately the worst version of Godzilla Junior is still more appealing than the best version of Minilla.

Jira Minus D (2004) Fairly embarrassing. While the CGI model's straightened dorsal fins alleviate some of ToraGoji's front-heaviness, this is still ultimately just a lower detail version of the worst Godzilla design.

Hmm any alutegra enemies to lovers or rivals to lovers au ideas? Those are my favorite tropes but idk i can’t picture alucard hating integra…
OOOOOOhhh well!!! First of, the classic, Bram Stoker's Dracula au!!!! It's soooo easy, you just have to make Integra the Van Helsing hunter, there you go. I remember there is an Alucard/Integra fic in the Bram Stoker's novel au on AO3 but I have not read it yet, it is in my to-read list!!!
I did drafted out a Bram Stoker au too. Where Integra's role is mixed between Jonathan Harker and Van Helsing. The idea is that Integra is an occultist sent to a Transylvania castle to investigate paranormal activities there under the guise of real estate investigator. Seras plays the role of Dr Seward as Integra's apprentice who later got bitten too (erm i have not decided whether she live or die yet im sorry in every au she get changed one way or another and possibly go through death). During their investigation they encounter several different people in the castle who are different versions of Alucard. Since he already died and fragments of his soul haunts the castle. I figure each version of Alucard react differently with entirely different personality. This one is easyyy to imagine their dynamic, since Alucard doesn't outright hate Integra. They're testing and studying each other before deciding if the other one is a threat or not. That is the setting I have not write the specific events yet. And I have not write it because I didn't have the time yet.
I have another au vaguely based on the Demeter voyage. This au is vaguely thriller detective genre. Integra is the ship captain and Seras, Pip and Wild Geese was her crewmate, along with Walter as her vice captain. The people who boarded the ships are Iscariots and Milleniums, and Alucard. And then after a few quiet nights people starts dropping dead like flies. Sorts of like werewolf card game, after a few quiet kill people starts getting paranoid and starts pointing fingers and they locked the crew inside the the captain's cabin and started forcing each other to walk the plank. Seras died from stray bullets during a tussle involving guns. Alucard is actually responsible for all the kills behind the scene. He boarded the ship to target nazis from the start. I had been debating with my friend to keep this au thriller or bring it over to dark fantasy genre. If we take the fantasy route, Alucard is a seaborne monster (like Leviathan) that just eat the bodies clean off and he made Seras a siren out of pity her getting caught in the crossfire of his doings. In this au though Alucard and Integra could have a rivalry relationship at first since he didn't reveal his motives while assuming she sided with the nazis cuz she let them boarded when she did not know the insides of the millenium organization that well, and she still have a killer on board to catch. Sorry everyone, I didn't have time to write any of that I just have enough mentality to draft out the main events and the setting of it.
Besides that, you can run with their prototype design. Integra was a nazi officer in Hi-and-Low. There isn't any translation available that could help me understand the plot but I can see she is wearing a swatiska armband. Although there might be some betrayal plot in that manga I'm not entirely sure because I cannot read it. Let just assume she is a nazi. Alucard with a nazi? Even if she's Integra he's gonna blow her head clean off. I fear this au is not getting to the "lovers" part. RIP
There's also the Hogwarts au (disclaimer: I think the setting of Harry Potter is deeply flawed and I do not associate with JK Rowling in any sense, she is a bigoted transphobic racist). I sorted Integra and Maxwell in Slytherin, in charge by Walter, Alucard and Seras into Gryffindor, in charge by (the Queen) Elizabeth, Pip and Heinkel into Ravenclaw, Anderson and Yumi into Hufflepuff. Integra is Slytherin's prefect, Alucard is Gryffindor's prefect and quidditch captain, with Seras as seeker. Pip crashed into Seras during a quidditch session and broke her arm so he insisted on following her to assist her since she have one arm wrapped now. Both Alucard and Seras are orphans in this au. Alucard is a metamorphmagus because he was cursed to shapeshift into animals randomly and he have bad control over it so Integra offered to help. Alucard is good in subjects such as transfiguration and defense against dark arts, which was also taught by Walter haha. While Integra's strong subject is history of magic, alchemy and care of magical creatures, so she at least have the vague idea of helping Alucard when he just started shapeshifting out of no where into an animal. Seras is good in divination and flying but bad at transfiguration and arithmancy, she have to study from Alucard and Pip, whose strong subjects are arithmancy, potion and alchemy. Ah to the rivalry part, Integra descend from pure-blood wizards, Seras is born from non-magic parents and Alucard is half-blood, the wizard on paternal side. Not only that they at first poke at each other because of their descend and the competition between houses, Abraham, who is Integra's grandfather in this, killed Alucard's father. But they don't know that yet, hihi. Im building up so that at the beginning they bicker as comon discrimination among wizard students do, but then overcome their prejudices of each others to befriend and study together, Integra finding a way to help Alucard deal with his shapeshifting and at the same time get to study the animals he turn into. And then at some point they found out their family have a life-long feud and have to do something about it, maybe miscommunicate about it and hated each other for it idk I have not finished writing yet.
So there's that, I think the way to write enemies/rivals to lovers for Alutegra the early step is to seperate Alucard from allying with Integra. We see him devoted to her on their first meeting in canon so there was already zero ground for him to hate her for real. It is still very difficult to think about tho I cannot comes up with any scenarios where he SERIOUSLY hated her guts, he just can't. She's too easy to love, she's so kind and caring to him. He on the other hand, well um i think Alucard is not as easy to love, he's a handful! But she loved him regardless!! These lil mfs piss me off because of how much they care for each other. They're cute!!
#hellsing#alutegra#integra hellsing#alucard hellsing#alucard x integra#THANK YOU FOR THE QUESTION#Ummmm this is what i have#I made soooo many au i lost track of them#I have made two Bridgerton aus for them already#There is no bound to the amount of au i designed for them! im just big and greedy

so far imo the filler in the anime gave things more room to breathe which helped the group dynamic form more organically but the faster pacing of the manga helps it to feel less repetitive at times and its characterisation/worldbuilding is definitely stronger in some places too
like i’m already glad that i’m reading the manga as well if only for the huge swathes of rei’s character which the anime entirely removed, minako having a much bigger role as the senshi’s leader, mamoru being handled far better, and luna’s devotion to usagi being shown more often
seeing a lot more of the silver millenium and some backstory for queen beryl and the shittenō etc. are also welcome additions for sure
not to mention minako and the others getting a dope super powerful cursed sword to fight with is an instant plus purely for the cool factor
overall tho both versions of the story are very enjoyable with their own pros and cons and it makes sense that the anime’s focus was different since it clearly wasn’t going for the exact same tone as the manga so to an extent i feel like it’s subjective which approach you prefer

NRC Archives, May 25 1983, the Tonight Show Starring Orson Krennic, Guests; Carson Teva, Luke Skywalker [Krennic]: You were in the biggest band in the world. Aren’t you worried you’re gonna flop by yourself? Would be pretty embarrassing. [Skywalker]: Oh, well I am now. [Audience Laughter] [Krennic]: Look, I’ve gotta ask- [Skywalker]: I’m sure you do. [Krennic]: the Rebellion announces a tv special with footage of you recording what will be your last album, Millenium, followed by a concert special. But then next thing we know, the specials’ taken off tv listings, you play a random untelevised rooftop concert, album doesn’t even surface for a few more months and then you announce you’re broken up! Everyone’s dying to know- what the heck happened? None of you have said anything since! [Skywalker]: None of the stories that people tell about us can change what really happened. [Krennic]: So then.. what? [Silence as the Camera focuses on Skywalker] [Skywalker]: (Sighs) Do you really want to know? ——- 3 Grammys, multi- multi platinum records, sold-out world tours, multiple #1s. The Rebellion was the biggest band in the world, until it wasn’t.

since i posted screenshots of that one sb fanfic (if you've seen that post, i'm so sorry 💀), the thought has lingered in my head to share some fics that are actually enjoyable to read:
(unfinished)
when i first saw this ff, i thought it wasn't really going to be all that good but BOY WAS I WRONG
it was really fun to read and it felt like an episode of sb but extended and not in the typical sb formula! the last update was from april of last year, sadly...
oh... and the kids get kidnapped x
(finished (?))
one of the fanfics that i would read again and again is definitely this one! this also felt like an episode of sb too (if you minus the shipping stuff but i don't mind it). i won't blurt out too much information about this one, though... ^^"
(the ff is also on fanfiction .net as well)
the ezekiel ff - finished
the two lilith ffs - active, has slow updates
(edit: i'm so sorry but i forgot to say that the ezekiel fanfic has themes of bullying and s*xual harassment so if you're sensitive with these themes and the depiction of them, then i'd advise you to not read it. the author does leave warnings for their work, though it's best for you to read those first before you get on w/ the ff)
these three ffs are from the same person! the concept of them was really unique in the sense that they'd also include drawings too so it felt like reading a webtoon rather than your typical ff on wattpad
all two (or three in this case) are from the author's vision of what a future season 6 would be like. compared to the canon reimagined episodes, it includes even more mature themes and the kids are now in their late teens!
(the last one is a continuation of the second ff, if you were wondering)
(finished)
this could possibly be the oldest sb ff there is since it's from 2009. this time, it's not based off reimagined, but classic instead (given the fact that reim. didn't officially release its first season until 2011)
(finished)
gizmo, would you stop taking pictures of yourself? your owner's going to jail /ref
(just kidding, giz doesn't actually appear in the fic)
but i'm not joking when i say that chris gets arrested in this ff. there's also a homophobic woman that got chris arrested in the first place and joy gets ptsd yayyy 🎉 /hj
the only part i wasn't keen on was when the two animals came in but that's abt it /spoiler (?)
(there's also two pages, if you're wondering)
(unfinished)
this one was pretty great too! you'd probably realise that most of the fics regarding the kids also age them up to be teenagers
the ff is a continuation of the actual series, but the kids are now in high school and basically, chris gets withdrawal symptoms bc joy moved to another state
(the reason why i started this on the 2nd chapter is bc that's when the fanfiction actually starts)
(finished)
as you might've noticed, the ff is in russian. you might have to turn on translate so you get a rough understanding of what's going on
basically chris and joy are now celestial beings and they take care of these two children who they've known through the children's parents
#(i'm so sorry that most of these are just joris fanfics 😭)#(they're pretty much the only good ones so you're gonna have to bear with that)
