Heathcliff - in public he plays competitive first person shooters and fighting games, flames people in chat when they mess up, the secret he plays wholesome romantic visual novels

hong lu - plays fighting games with heathcliff, wins 80% of the time, never gets angry when he loses which makes heathcliff even angrier, sometimes lets him win (it makes him even more angry),

I also imagine him going along with what the other sinners want to play and doesn't really suggest anything of his own

Outis - 1000% she plays real-time strategy games like Hearts of iron 4 and stellaris, maybe even Warhammer total war, the more simulated war crimes the better

Mouthwashing Discord Server Headcanons:

Curly is the Owner of the server and makes the rules. He doesn't take action right away but he tries what he can.

Jimmy is the Discord Mod that sends cropped porn in #general, despite getting mad at those for putting memes in the same channel.

Anya is the one that does wholesomeposting and floptoking while being secretly depressed and overwhelmed with identity crisis. You can always find her in the #vent chat. (She also gets diabolical DMs from Jimmy.)

Daisuke is the heart of the server. He loves sending memes, talking about media, doing voice chats with the crew, and playing games. He is a very active person and always likes to show off his Minecraft builds and Gartic Phone stuff.

Swansea's the type of guy that pops into the server and doesn't ever speak in there. Ever.

Watching RTGame Minecraft playthrough and Daniel's genuine fascination with vanilla experience made me reflect on how I view this game. It reminded me how I first discovered it decade ago, had the ultimate Minecraft experience of trying to figure stuff on my own (and miserably failing), then having a knowing friend behind my back teaching the basics™ and slowly getting on track from there. Surely, it's not a new game. And I feel like over the years, as I grew up, Minecraft-the-game slowly morphed into some hybrid virtual medium to hang out with friends for me. It became less of a world I get immersed in and more of an algorithm I'm really good at navigating and using its restrictions to my advantage. In a weird fashion, the only thing I can compare what modded Minecraft is to me is Hatsune Miku, an entity who functionally is an avatar with million faces and myriad stories for you to tell. In the same manner long ago modded Minecraft became a neutral base to create any game in (almost) any genre I felt like playing. It's a welcome development, but what I ultimately gave up in exchange is appreciation for simplicity of vanilla, and I became desensitized to it. Watching Daniel discover all these novelties with almost childlike wonder, I can't help but get nostalgic over how I used to see it, and how I never will be able to go back to it. That's so obvious, but so many decisions he makes I wouldn't, if I was playing. I'm probably one of those people who kept suggesting creating new world, until Daniel put effort in exploring it and discovering all those gorgeous places that I wouldn't. Seeing him roleplay and genuinely engage with the world surrounding him reminded me how decade ago I used to have a small house with a single dog on the edge of the cliff in the snowy taiga. I didn't really do anything to progress the game and was too scared to go into the caves to upgrade my tools to iron, so I tended to my little garden, fed my dog with chicken and wrote something in my only book and quill as a diary. It was all these same actions every single day, but I never felt bored. I felt isolated, but never lonely with my dog by my side, and as soon as sun had set, I was racing to my tiny hut, afraid of mobs, and my dog would feel really sad if one day I didn't return, after all. For some reason, decade later I remember everything to the tiniest detail. The layout of the house, the surrounding forest and what I wrote down back then. Since those times I had countless worlds and multiple projects, I used to speedrun Minecraft for fun and competition, but I remember so little about it all, a blurred memories of something that vaguely happened. But seeing Daniel build his tower, having beef with villagers stealing his sleeping spot, parting sea and for shits and giggles, spending two hours trying to draw a circle that functionally doesn't work for an assumption he lowkey gaslit himself into believing is true, filling out the maps of surrounding areas and looking for Bubblegum to lead home make me feel those exact feelings again. Maybe that's what it feels like to be the knowing friend sitting behind someone's back and teaching the ways of Minecraft. I never got to know what it feels like. After all, who hasn't played Minecraft nowadays?

Abella: A hardcore nostalgia gamer. Only plays on PC (built it herself). Bethesda hater and still won’t let it go. Has a picture of Todd Howard in her desk drawer with his eyes cut out. Her favorite series is fallout and has a solid year worth of time spent on New Vegas alone. Well known in the TF2 community. Used to have a competitive record in Tetris, but lost her touch from spending too much time at work. Favorite games are factorio, subnautica and terraria.

August: Calls every console a ‘Nintendo’. Calls on Abella for help with his computer frequently. It’s still on windows 7. Favorite game is solitaire.

Daan: Wouldn’t call himself a ‘gamer’, but has a steam account which he opens once in a while. Prefers narrative based horror games or puzzle games. Never spends more than 7 dollars on a game. Favorite games are bioshock, disco elysium, signalis and pathologic.

Henryk: Likes to dip his toes into a little bit of everything, but never able to get into the gamer scene. Owns a perfectly good PS4 that sits neglected and unused. Likes to talk about the nostalgia of his favorite games when he was younger and how modern games aren’t as fun. He also just has no taste. Favorite games are detroit: become human, fallout 4, borderlands, until dawn, bully and minecraft (the type of guy who always wants to make a big group world, and then when it’s made he never uses it). Abella trashes his collection.

Karin: Runs every game on her shitty company work laptop. Likes roguelikes, or any game that has a satisfying ‘tactile’ feeling game loop. A big resident evil fan, but they make her computer ‘make weird noises’. Favorite games are: Ultrakill, pizza tower, project zomboid, and multiplayer games like phasmophobia and lethal company. Currently has an obsession with Balatro that has gotten her in trouble with her boss. Has been known to play Fortnite regularly. Note: she’s BAD.

Levi: Definitely prefers 3D horror games. Nothing actually scares him though. Favorite games are amnesia: the bunker, alien isolation and the forest. Fromsoft fan, favorite game was bloodborne. He owns a decent gaming laptop and a PS2 where he plays tony hawk pro skater. Also likes half life, silent hill and the shin megami tensei series.

Marcoh: He owns a crunchy ass Nintendo DSi where he plays some pokemon like, once in a blue moon. He already finished the game 7 years ago but will never delete the file. If you look into it you’ll see that his starter is like level 100 and everything else is level 8. Never learned how to play, probably never will. Not a gamer.

Marina: Marina is a visual novel supremacist who downloaded the entire Fate series off a shady backdoor website that probably did something horrible to her computer. She loves horror, but is also not opposed to lighter fantasy stuff. Doesn’t like games that have no story. Favorites are the WTC series (Umineko supremacist), tsukihime, melty blood and rance. General classic nerd stuff.

Olivia: She runs a custom steam deck with a really cute pastel purple layout. She’s pirated the sims with every single dlc + a disgusting amount of mods (including That mod 😏) and it took up so much space she had to put in a 2 TB sd card to hold it. She likes all kinds of games, but has a preference for games with heavy writing/plot. Favorite games are SOMA, Mouthwashing, Stay out of the house (Really any games by kittyhorrorshow, puppet combo or yames) and Who’s Lila. Similar taste to Daan, but likes her games more gory.

Osaa: Probably the worst gamer of all time. Even mobile games are confusing to him. Always complains that the screen is too bright, even at the darkest setting. All games bore him. Horror games are juvenile. Story games are predictable. Action games are a waste of time. Don’t bother.

…Favorite game: Papa’s Burgeria or Bloons Tower Defense.

Pav: Favorite game series is metal gear solid. Owns a PS3. Another ‘nostalgia gamer’ who won’t touch modern games. Likes the typical PlayStation stuff like GTA, Assassin’s Creed, and New Vegas. Yes, he’s the type of person to play COD. Doesn’t have time to play games much anymore due to work (thank god).

Samarie: The same kind of visual novels as Marina, but worse. Big into denpa horror. Yes, she plays eroge. Has no one to talk about her niche vns with. Favorite games are cross channel, saya no uta (of course), chaos head and gore screaming show. She also read homestuck (which is technically classified as a denpa on the visual novel database, so….)

Tanaka: The number 1 mobile gamer in the world. Clicks on every single weird ad he gets with no hesitation. Like a cocomelon baby. Top of the worldwide charts in candy crush for 3 weeks straight. Plays these apps in public with the sound on. No shame.

I haven't played normal Minecraft in so long, I've just played modded stuff so much. The problem is I'll play it for maybe an hour or two and remember why I don't enjoy it. It's BORING. I need action filled games, modded is the place for it.

if i had my own big minecraft technical mod there would be a fingertips item where u can shave off the tops of ur fingertips on a cooldown (need to regrow) and then affix it to machines for stuff like how mobs dont drop xp when they get killed by a machine only when a player does it. and with fingerprints upgrade slotted in, it will detect all actions as player-done.

i cant think of too many other cases where u need player action detection but maybe that can be the next mechanic. pressure to do things manually, due to internal value judgements of manual labor being worth more than automatic. and maybe a little personal torture god could mess with u , and u escape its pact thru fingertip trickery

hello everyone. I am a fellow minecrafter and I'm here to defend A Minecraft Movie because it has been receiving a lot of undeserved hate and im genuinely disappointed in our community for this.

i believe the minecraft community to be kind and supporting and the lash back at A Minecraft Movie has went against that belief in many ways that lead me to question our community as a whole.

i, too, hated on A Minecraft Movie when I saw the teaser, but the minecraft live before 1.21 changed my view regarding the Movie.

it was an interview of the directors. there, they explain why they did what they did. they made it live action because there are already so many extraordinary minecraft animations on youtube. they wanted to make something unique to convey how unique minecraft as a game is.

this isn't a super mario scenario where there's already a bunch of lore and canon stuff that the directors have to abide by to make the fans happy. if minecraft did have a canon and the directors were knowingly going against that, I would understand. but minecraft doesn't have a "canon."

minecraft doesn't have lore or canon facts. that's what makes minecraft so... great, I guess. minecraft is a sandbox game that many have come to love purely because they can create what they want. they can make their story just as much as any action game or TV show or even book series.

people share their minecraft journey in many different ways. and not every story begins the same way either. most begin with punching a tree, but some don't. most end with defeating the ender dragon, but some don't. and that's what's so great about minecraft.

you don't have to follow a set of rules. sure, there are gamerules, but minecraft is so customizable, you can change every aspect of the game.

mods and data packs and even resource packs make the game look different and act different, but it's still minecraft at the end of it all.

minecraft is made purely to help players express their creativity in ways they couldn't in the real world.

that's what the directors are doing. the directors are sharing their minecraft story in their way.

minecrafters around the globe, I beg and beg that we at least show a little bit of appreciation for this bold leap that the directors are taking. it doesn't seem normal now, but overtime, I'm sure everyone will grow to love it. just like every update the game gives us or new minecraft-themed game we receive.

all in all. A Minecraft Movie directors deserve the community's support and appreciation. just as much as any other player sharing their story deserves.

I used mainly cherry and pale oak woof with a little bit of birch (just for the porch)

I used a mushroom tree as a base, then built a greenhouse underneath since monsters would've gathered underneath the treehouse for shade.

I mainly did this just to see all the new updates to Minecraft since I haven't played in a long time.

I also wanted to try the popular mod "Actions & Stuff" and "Dwellers" mod. I hear knocking almost every 3 minutes.

I'll end up switching to survival and playing with my sister. I obviously have another world that's survival so I can farm trophies.

with how much time loop stuff I'm reblogging I'm reminded of how I played around with the concept a bit. there's a minecraft mod (MoCap) that can be used to essentially live in a time loop, and I had adapted tombino's datapack for that to have the loop be one minecraft day long, and I'd also had a waypoint mod and a mod that would display the time (like 6am at in-game sunrise).

I had reasoned that I should build my infrastrucutre early during the loop so I would have it the longest, and that it was better to only build smaller parts per loop so more of me could work on it at the same time so it would be finished faster; I'd prepare later in the loop and then wait at the little house until I could aid the other mes in its construction; working off memory to build what still needed doing where it needed to be built.

materials were easy to come by once I had enough for a placeable and mineable block; my actions could affect future loops but not past ones. if I placed something and piced it back up that would also happen in later loops; if in a later loop I picked it up faster past me would still also get it. my actions didn't change the "past", even if it was currently the present (they couldn't due to the technical limitation of it not involving any actual time travel. any changes made to past mes would have unpredictable effects outside of the scope of a silly little block game's ability to figure out)

now here's where the other two mods become relevant: I'd also spent some time building a little mineshaft. I didn't need many of a resource to have an infinite supply, but I still needed these initial first bits. I made a waypoint of where my ladder was so I could find it again. I looked at the time to know when I could find it and noted that down too.

I'd started thinking of daytime as just one more component of where I was, a place to get to not by mining or walking but by waiting. time does not usually feel that way, but it was intersting to somewhat have my experience gradually match the descriptions of spacetime I'd learned about in one of my physics lectures, of time as one of the four components of where something is — because in-game I'd become able to traverse it more freely, to not just be at the same location at two different times but to also be able to be at the same time at two different locations.

the concept of time as a qunatifiable coordiante/distance had become separate from the concept of time derived from experience because that only existed outside of the game now and in the way I couldn't see or interact with future loops of myself (again, a technical limitation of it not involving actual time travel). the mathematical beauty of how things work under the hood was now free of the experience of the inacessibility of past and future, of the limitations of being human that bring their own strange perspective on time.

honestly sorry for unloading all of this unto you, it’s genuinely been on my mind for quite a while (and it’s 4 am so I kinda just went for it)

oh yeah he absolutely sometimes slips on slang and stuff. sometimes it's harmless and he doesn't even bother explaining or waves it away like nevermind, but sometimes he has to sit there and explain to guizhong and morax why no, he doesn't think the duck flock is a bunch of chickens, see there's this joke back in his world-

like there's already i think a couple of times where modern words make it out on cyanide, but i think i kept it to a minimum. i'm pretty sure he uses the expression 'ferry' by the end of the fic and has to backtrack and re-explain hahah

honestly i think more than slang or quotes (he will do both once he's not focused on the mission and his brain returns to like. essentially weekend mode) i think it'll come thru in the form of music more than anything. i think if you leave him without conversation and with an easy task he WILL start humming or whistling, and he will be humming or whistling modern songs from modern shows and videogames and pop music.

as for what he liked, i think i did mention atla and mdzs at some point. if he liked mdzs then you can probably add like- tgcf and svsss to that list. not sure if he'd sit down to suffer for 2ha tbh. might sit through tyk/woh's live action if he watched mdzs on netflix tho i think he mentions minecraft at some point. probably played stardew valley, too (probably married either elliott or leah or used a mod to marry the wizard). i think he would've liked monster hunter and shadow of the colossus and like- horizon. but i genuinely think he would've gravitated towards more casual games since his job took up so much of his time and he used games to chill and relax. so like. slime rancher too, maybe. but also subnautica (p sure it wouldn't land as horror on him) that said i want to say the man did play wadanohara when he was younger, like immediately upon being given his own fatui-assigned flat at like 16. it just seems like some hole he'd fall into. i would've said he'd have watched made in abyss but that would make no sense bc then i would've been obligated to have him make direct references to it since y'know. the abyss. for non xianxia shows i think he would've had to have watched at least a couple of isekai to know what that word even is (or a couple of other anime too tbh). i can't think of one in specific rn but i want to say gto and sailor moon for classics. obviously some other modern ones but can't think of one rn. maybe like... honestly? the one where bakarina is from, i forget the name. i think he would've eaten up the villaness genre once it started gaining popularity. and the ghibli movies of course, he does mention chihiro at some point. other non-anime shows too but i can't really think of one in specific rn. probably something CSI adjacent. or a couple of the avenger movies. or just. you know, mathilda.

i genuinely cannot see him being that much of a book reader BUT i do think he would've turned into an avid ao3 user post mdzs.

Critical Role / Vox Machina Discord server .ᐟ

First off I wanted to thank to anyone who joined since we already reached 100+ members on our lovely server. We are hosting few events in that occassion but first off I will tell you more about server so maybe you will also join... if you want to skip add you can get link from clicking here

So first off who are we .ᐣ

We are rather yet small discord community who most common interest is in Critical Role / Vox Machina. You will find both show and compaign lovers on our server as well as different channels where you can share your content

Our journey started from me and my friend deciding why not to just start a discord server and connect more people who for various reasons couldn't purchase Beacon subscription to join the official community on discord server. We are here for those who want to socialize with people with similiar interest without having to pay because not everyone can afford that.

What do we offer ?

- Zone for sharing your own creations , if you want to join only to promote your content because you are too shy to interact it's fine <3

- Social zone where you can chat either about IRL topics , topics related to shows , talk about compaign without spoilering it to people who only watched the show , place to talk about different fandoms !

- Zone for roleplayers ! That's right we are writing in the univeree of the Exandria together - you can either take role of canon character or your own original characters !

- Active community which hosts events frequently , usually we are hosting them in Saturday because that's when most of us are available! ( Current incoming event this aaturday : Quizz , knowledge about the show from S1 to S3 )

- Minecraft Realm ! Yes you are reading it right , thanks to one of the admins we are hosting our own Realm on Minecraft Bedrock , we specifically call it TLOVM SMP because you have to use Critical Role skins when you are on our server. The server features mods such as : Animalist 3.0 , Actions And Stuff 1.3 , Realistic Biomes , Wolves Plus , World Utilities !

- Soon we are starting with D&D section where you gonna be able to host your own compaigns as Dungeon Master or join in as a player !
