Fantasy creature Phighters! (PHIGHTING!)

Hi tumblr. Guess who’s alive again!!!! Anyways here’s sword and rocket as fantasy creatures, I actually made these a long time ago but I just completely forgot to post them :’DD

for those curios, this is like a mini little fun silly au of mine, nothing much and I’m not gonna draw anything for it in the future but it was me turning Phighters into different fantasy monsters or creatures, currently:

Rocket is a Kelpie Centaur, Sword is a harpy, Scythe would be a Greek Sphinx, Subspace would be a manticore, Coil would be a Japanese Knobold, Broker would be a siren, Slingshot would be a werecat, etc etc! Here’s an extra little fun doodle by the way, I hate them. /aff

i like to imagine the phighters wound up in this universe and kinda had to clear out everyone else, clear out the old guys to make room phor the new one ig

phighter's inpherno would be some action cartoon with way too much lore compiled in the later seasons in my eyes lawl! i have no clue who would be the main character or what would be like... the plot at all..

i still need to make the rest of the phighters, but aphter that i MIGHT (heavy might) see about making a mini series out of this

Some horn headcannons i have because i saw this (https://www.tumblr.com/phightingheadcanons/777564736438009856/when-phighters-are-hurt-their-horbs-their-horns?source=share) post and it made me remember some of mine that I've never really shared with anyone

Some Inphernals get a small and soft glow to their horn if they feel certain emotions past a certain level. Super happy? Maybe a soft and slow pulsing light comes from their horns. Sad and down in the dumps a bit? A weaker and slowly fade in/out of light. Really pissed off and angry? Fast and bright pulsating light! Things kind of like that

Also sort of related but also kind of unrelated to that another OC I have makes the air around her super cold and chilly when she gets really mad bc of what her gear is and if she's pissed off enough there will just be a mini blizzard following her around. Oh also when she does get pissed off her horns glow so that's where the horn glowing thing came from lol

Not all Inphernals have glowing horns thoigh! Some may have horns that glow a lot more than others, almost akin to how some people react a lot more to emotions than others do. It just kind of depends in the Inphernal

Maybe inphernals like Katana, Hyperlaser, Zuka or Medkit don't really have horns that glow a whole lot unless the emotion is super super strong because they don't really react or show a whole lot of emotion in general

But maybe Inphernals like Sword, Vinestaff(maybe?), Skateboard, and Boombox have horns that tend to be a bit glowly more frequently because they're more reactive and show more emotion

Idk just a kind cool though to add onto horn headcannons :D

I think the idea of like- "Mini Phighting Tournaments" would be cute. Like young phighters are given some kind of like- Toy/Fake version of whatever weapon they're born with so they practice for actual phights when they're old enough for them. Ik demons are just- Kinda born w/the knowledge of how to use their gear, but I still think it would be really cute. Like little Sword with one of those fake cardboard swords and whacking at some dummy or little Rocket with a toy rocket launcher that shot like- Foam balls or whatever Idk this is just me babbling into the air rn.

As a silly hc, I think Playground has TWO marriages.

Since people die young so often there, if one couple wants to marry, they start a sort of mini-celebration. The whole "if we turn 35 and can settle down safely we'll get married"

This is merely a cost-saving thing, as most couples don't make it that far.

The only Playgrounder who'll propose the promise is Boombox as he's the most secure in his safety, but the other Playground Phighters would cry and say yes if you asked them for promises.

BanHammer character sheet wip+Headcanons!!!

•He is in fact, the only phighter’s skin to remain pure white even if he’s humanized. Like an alien lol.(Same goes as any gods and Demi-gods in phighting)

•Upper Eyes’ colour is normal purple. The bottom two eyes’ colour is scarlet, the upper pupils is slit and the lower is akin to a goat’s.

•Accidentally crushed tons of things thanks to being a Demi-god. The hammer is the only thing that handle his strength.

•Guards Banland 24/7 because he keeps getting weird stares whenever he’s walking down the streets and gets irritated by it(also because of a certain someone in the “stupid idiot” zone”). So he is rarely seen.

•(this is probably canon but)Mama’s boy, he loves his momma very much, and nobody gets to make fun of that.

•Bleeds gold. He gets rarely injured, but yeahh, he bleeds gold.

•Homeless. The only home he has is his mom’s and Banland.

•Acts silly but will be serious if needed. He is still a warden after all.

•He is not dumb, just hotheaded sometimes.

•He definitely has a mini golf court in Banland. Sometimes shows his skills off to windforce.

•Aromantic. romance, what’s that?

OOC ask! i have a couple lore questions that ive been thinking of if thats ok? do the beans have gears or no? if no how do, say, skateboard beans do tricks? do the phighters still exist in the universe or no? since the sfoth have *bean* (excuse the pun) mentioned as still existing. how do the sfoth/phighters feel about the beans? and (last question i swear) would oc based beans be seen as weird mutations/ultra rare variants or some rare species of beans with little research? sorry if its alot im just very curious o.O

Lore questions are always great! While 90% of this universe is a solid fuck it we ball, I love worldbuilding and (glances back at the 51k word fic series I wrote) coming up with new concepts for AUs and such!

Beans would have... essentially mini-gears they can make vanish at will methinks. You don't always see the gear, in fact you rarely see it, but it is had. Does negligible damage compared to the real gears though

The phighters do exist! No one is sure why the beans also exist. I believe they'd all have different opinions about beans which would turn this post massive and entirely based in my hcs so I'm gonna not do that right now

OC beans would be seen as rare beans, yep! Ones you basically NEVER see because despite there being plenty of OC beans, there's so many entirely different ones that only really exist once or twice that you can't properly catalogue them all

Coil first thoughts

of course this is subject to change as I get better and play him more, but here is my initial reaction & thoughts to his gameplay/kits

-Gravity kit is def the most fun. Especially the bounce-off move, it’s very fun to hit twice in a row too, just a bit hard as I feel the range is a bit small but we ball. but combining his abilities in this form to pull off a combo is the best feeling

-Speed kit is nice too, though I found myself mostly in it to help out my teammates, not for the abilities themselves. They feel so small in range, which kind of sucks since the speed boost is probably the buff that will help teammates out the most. Though now as I’m typing this out, I realize you’re probably supposed to utilize the speed in order to get in close to enemies to hit those abilities. Will def try that next time I play

-Healing kit is so lackluster imo. I feel like the healing is so small, that sometimes it’s not even worth it to stay in the form for long. I feel like almost every Phighter can out-damage your healing. Medkit & Vinestaff are way better healers, though I suppose it’s because they are centered around healing, while Coil has two other kits you can utilize. I think Coil would definitely work better having another healing support to support them as they do the healing, and leaving the main healing to that healer. His blocking ability feels so short compared to the trailer version, but of course it was probably for cinematic purposes or was nerfed in the testing phase as the devs maybe found it to be too strong. I think it would be nicer if it worked like Banhammer’s swinging ability where the more he gets hit, the longer he blocks and of course stacks up more heals for the team

Also I think it would be better if instead of tapping R to cycle through the modes, you could hold R to pick which mode on a mini wheel through keybinds or the mouse scroller. Though that’s obviously up to opinion for what people prefer.

in celebration of subspace getting a phighter theme, which fyi is one of my favs, subspecies hc BLAST!!!!

- subspace pretty much canonically has atychiphobia, which is in the uhh title of her theme. it’s basically fear of failure, which says a LOT!!! And the title is also “SUBSPACE: THE DOOMED POTENTIAL” which has WILD implications . now let me yap about said implications. so it’s basically just saying that my baby girl was manipulated by capitalists , and has been working for blackrock for uhh good knows how long, probably since childhood. she was very uhh intelligent as a kid, and the government manipulated her into thinking this is all good if that makes sense. she was blinded and brainwashed into blackrock’s hands, even though she had so much potential to do good, yet it was completely ruined by greed. you can call this doomed potential, no escape.

- that was a lot anyways, the smallest biograft she’s made is a chi graft mini, which is half of the size of a modern Amazon Alexa.

- she is PEAK twink material

- she CANNOTTTT handle temperatures over 15 Celsius

- subspace’s poison is extremely rare, and can only be accessed by her own gear and some random plant I don’t know what to name yet.

- I love angst so she’s been working for blackrock since 10, oh yeah Hyperlaser started at 17

- kinda. A hot take but she’s a dolphin.this popped up in my head like a few months ago? Idk

- popped up in my head again but like. Subspace with identity issues??

- she would LOVEEE lobotomy corporation

- I think she’d be aroace (omgollygosh autocorrect almost changed it to a roach) . “too busy for love” or sum
