I find it funny that in most other rpgs, Heinrix would be the bad-boy romance option (interrogation specialist for what amounts to the secret police), but here he's kinda one of the most normal options in the game

I love that throughout the first act and a half of RT, you're clearly The Protagonist. Everything stops when you get here, people's stories are support to your story, you're legit one of the most important people in the sector.

And then the Drukhari show up and it immidiatly becomes clear that you are not The Protagonist to them. You're barely a recurring NPC in whatever drama they have going on in their own lives

Man, Marazhai's voice acting is just so good. Legit gives me chills.

it weirds me out how vehement some people get in their hate for Yrliet.

Like, don't get me wrong, I totally understand not liking her or even killing her off because of spoiler reasons, but the number of people I've run into with detailed fantasies about having her tortured and killed (and showing up to unrelated posts talking postively about her to share them) is honestly kind of disturbing to me.

My Heretic run is mid-Act 2 now

Things are going alright so far. I really expected that Yrliet would have some kind of issue that would mean she didn't make it off Janus, but she seems to have hitched her wagon to this RT's train for the moment. Part of me is happy (Yrliet is here!) but part of me is also sad (it hurts being such a dick to her).

Enjoying the DLC content, even though sometimes the constant interruptions in exploring get frustrating. Kibellah is more interesting than I'd feared, although I like her less than I'd hoped, but the elaboration on ship's life and getting to explore more of the other areas.

Also the bathtub update is perfect.

Still a bit disappointed with some of the heretic options, tbh. Heresy in 40k isn't exactly subtle, but some of these are just so stupidly dickish that it's kind of laughable. But despite all of this, it's a testament to the game's writing that I'm still slowly developing a character despite some of the clunky "for the evulz" writing.

I feel like Idira is actually the most sensible of the companions because she's the only one who actually seems to realize that there's something deeply wrong with her

Marazhai is, of course, a super fun charcter from a writing/VA/story perspective, but can we also talk about how handy he is in a fight? The assassin/warrior build was already super useful (I'd thrown it on Heinrix) and then he's insanely mobile on top of it.

Combine his special movement ability with the high agility/dodge and he can just run in, hit a guy a bunch of times, and then run away before the end of his turn and the low-priority feature of Elusive Shadow means they rarely decide he's worth persuing.

I have Cassia now and it's impossible for me to be mean to her. Adelaide should be mean to her because she's a scummy criminal who shouldn't like a highborn princess type. But it's like being mean to a puppy.

the Rogue Trader brainrot is strong

working on developing my girls so that I can play one of them for Lex Imperialis and there's so many things to think about

there's just so much depth in the game and so many characters to consider their feelings on and interactions with and so many angles to develop them from

and that's even before leaving space for them to actually grow in play

Finished Act 2 with my Heretic last night

I hoped to connect with this RT better than I did, but at least it's an opportunity to try out all the crazy options (and achievement hunt) the way I wouldn't get the chance to in a more RP-focused run.

The conversation with Calcazar at the end of the chapter is hilarious if you're a heretic and I was reminded how much I enjoy Calligos Winterscale as a character.

I also enjoyed the side quests added with the Heretic storyline - they're small, but it's cool to actually talk directly to a daemon and get your altar and all

And I keep forgetting that my party is way weaker than it normally is, going "oh, this will be an easy fight!" and then getting totally destroyed :P

Today has been an exciting day

I entered a fandom exchange for the first time a few days ago (I've done events, but never a classic exchange before) and the matchups will go out within a couple days

Also, I found out that the Kindle that a few family members teamed up to buy me for Christmas will be here soon

And I finally have enough money saved to buy a commission I've been saving up for!

started a heretical run a while back

It's interesting, now that I'm a bit more familiar with the game. I'm trying to make concious roleplay choices with a bit more familiarity with how the plotline is going to go - "I want this guy to have this storyline, so I should make this choice here", give thought to builds so that I can use my ideal party composition without mechanical issues, etc. It's been fun to just embrace my inner supervillain and go with all the worst options for things

Mainly still trying to decide who I want to romance on this playthrough. On the one hand, there's Kibellah, on another, this is probably the only male playthrough I'm going to be doing so it might make sense to try Cassia. And the Marazhai sub route is calling me too. . .

an unanticipated side effect of naming a pet after a character from a fandom in which I am also active is that it has resulted in a lot of bizarre conversations in which people have had to try and work out if I mean the character or the animal

Sometimes it's obvious ("MARAZHAI! Stop licking your sister's butt!") others not so much
