In a moment suspended in time, after all the tension melted away Kojiro and Kaoru asking Tadashi “Have you been taking care of our Adam?”

Turning their attention completely to Tadashi “What’s your Ainosuke been up to lately?”

“Our ADAM?” lives rent free in my mind

Because nobody knows Adam better than they do, and nobody knows Ainosuke better than Tadashi does

Which is better (for curiosity sake and not at all because of a fic I'm working on):

Characters using eachother to fulfill their desires but then one day it feels different and it takes them a moment to realize they made love to one another and didn't just have sex.

Or-

Characters having sex once and it doesn't mean anything until they want it again and they want it to mean something.

Post-Canon loveblossom. It'll evolve into OT4 eventually but for now, post-canon loveblossom. It's hard at first, when it's still a tentative thing between them and there's still a storm of raw hurt brewing beneath their skins. At first, Kaoru finds his tongue curling around words he only half-means, sharpens them like a knife regardless and hurls them at Adam, they're cold low-blows, things like, "You've always been rather flighty when it counted most."

Kojiro is a good friend (and future lover), he mediates, until both of them can nurse their hurts and nurture that fragile thing between them.

One day, there's Adam cradling Kaoru’s face, gently, gently. A skateboard flashes in Kaoru's mind eye, the tip of it brushing against his nose. He doesn't flinch. He no longer flinches. He leans further to Adam's touch, presses a kiss against his palm.

There's hushed talk and apologies and tears. There's a blossoming relationship. There's Adam pulling Kaoru out of his mind when he gets lost for days on end amongst equations and arrays, forgets that he's a person. There's Kaoru firm assurance, stern but not unkind, in the way he tells— no proves to Adam that he's a person too when he gets too lost in his mind, albeit in different ways.

(Through all this they get closer to Tadashi and Joe too. It's Kaoru who finally pushes Adam to confess to Tadashi, and pushes Joe into Adam's arms. It's Adam who relentlessly teases Tadashi over Kaoru, gets them together, then eventually plans their date because of course he would.

Their relationship isn't the same it used to be. It's so much better.

"They are idiots," Tadashi muttered and didn't even have to look to know Kaoru was nodding in agreement.

Ainosuke was an idiot for daring to question Kojiro in the kitchen, for trying to say thyme and rosemary were basically the same unless you overused them, and for leaving the heat up on the burner and singeing flour to the bottom of the pot before the rue was fully whisked together. 

Kojiro was an idiot for taking it all so seriously, even if cooking was his joy and life other than skateboarding and the other occupants of the room. 

Today was his night off, and Ainosuke was just trying to remind him, even if a butcher’s knife trailing slowly, softly down his chest like Ainosuke was considering whether he was just flirting or about to cut Kojiro’s shirt off or stab him might not have been the most relaxing thing, and, in fact, had made Kojiro start a lecture about kitchen knife safety that seemed only partially based in irony.

A blink or two later, Kojiro was actively trying to wrest the knife out of Ainosuke’s hand, grabbing his wrist sharply and squeezing to loosen the other man’s grip as he pried it out with his other hand, but then, once the knife was on the counter, he was holding Ainosuke’s  wrist up to his face and kissing away any bruise at the pulse point while Ainosuke pretended he didn’t enjoy being fussed over.

“They are idiots,” Kaoru parroted and didn’t even need to lift his head from Tadashi’s shoulder where he had shifted to rest it to know Tadashi was agreeing when he could easily feel the nod as he continued, “But they’re our idiots.”

這次吃了上次沒吃到的唐揚雞！ 涮嘴日式唐揚雞軟法 雞肉吃起來是有用醬油稍微去醃過的味道， 是一股淡淡的醬香味， 咬起來軟嫩不乾柴， 旁邊還放了偏甜的蜂蜜芥末醬， 沾著吃還不錯， 但是份量跟上次的檸檬雞一比較之下是有點少， 但是多了也是會怕膩， 畢竟不是拿來配飯吃， 跟其他的東西搭配著吃， ���實也是會飽啦！ 今天的軟法吃起來有一股淡淡的椰香， 跟上次的味道有點不太一樣， 可能是因為上次一開始就把蜂蜜淋上去， 而蜂蜜的甜味一下子把那股淡淡的椰子味給吃掉了！ 今天的沙拉有蒸過的切片南瓜， 還有切塊的紫心地瓜， 中間還有一小撮豌豆苗用一片稍微煎過捲起來， 是想表達這是一棵樹的概念嗎？ 飲料點了相對於炸物來說較為清爽的紅茶， 但是硬要多加奶蓋， 完整名稱是海鹽奶蓋紅玉茶， 喝起來還是清爽， 紅茶的甜度算是微糖吧， 海鹽奶蓋的淡淡的鹹度可以稍微的帶出紅茶的本身的茶香氣， 也因為甜度不算高， 還是可以稍稍感受到紅茶的微澀味， 但不會不舒服， 比較特別的部分是上面還灑了幾顆台灣傳統的爆米香在上面， 還沒泡軟時咬起來真的很勾人兒時回憶， 現摘現放的迷迭香， 香氣很足， 喝的時候多了一股香氣在鼻腔內， 但不影響喝進去的味道。 最後還受到雙胞胎兄弟老闆的招待， 給了一杯份量很足的水果冰沙！ 說是莓果口味的， 但是喝起來不酸，很清爽， 咕嚕咕嚕一下子就進胃袋了。 然後今天在這邊待了四個多小時吧， 因為邊吃邊再整理小小甜點工作室的食譜， 還有看從澳洲扛回來的甜點食譜書， 還有跟老闆們聊天， 下次應該會先去別家店吃吃， 然後再回來找老闆們吃吃吃其他口味的餐點！ 老實說這家大概是我覺得台南少數有家味的早午餐店， 其他家是親切， 但是堤貝街反而像是一個家一樣， 隨時歡迎你的到來！ #brunch #tibetstreetcafe #tainan #twinbrothers #karaagechicken #japanesestyle #friedchicken #cheeseformblackteawithseasalt #mixedberrysmoothie #pumkin #purplesweetpotato #honeymustardsauce （在 堤貝街咖啡 Tibet St. Cafe & Color BoBo 台南館） https://www.instagram.com/p/BxxGNjrnjgn/?igshid=1o9yvi3i3s0qs

For the fic writing thing:

Flowers blossomed in the park as red eyes glared into red eyes and one thing was certain; Kaoru was a dead man after this stunt.

I thought too long about what stunt Kaoru had pulled and I got nothing, so let’s just leave that a mystery

Flowers blossomed in the park as red eyes glared into red eyes and one thing was certain; Kaoru was a dead man after this stunt. 

“Maybe you two should just kiss and break the tension,” Kaoru drawled, his posture on the park bench like a king upon a throne as he watched his jesters. If he was going to die, he might as well try and make it an entertaining death.

“Been there, done that, had better,” Kojiro practically snarled without breaking eye contact with Ainosuke, and Kaoru made sure to mask his surprise that Kojiro had kept that little factoid from the past secret from him.

“I think you’ve whored around so much since then trying to scratch that itch with inferior substitutes that it’s clouded your memory,” Ainosuke shot back like someone who was about to defend his honor by refreshing Kojiro’s memory.

“I’ll go start the car,” Tadashi  interjected in a resigned voice, continuing on to prod the arguing men to sense, “And you two can continue this...argument in private while we leave Mr. Sakurayashiki to find his own way home.”
