SOMEWHERE IN WASHINGTON, 2018 — the weather is often pretty drab in october… but it suits the grungey, old timey charm of the city. bustling city life with small town vibes despite its size. Full of antique stores and cute little boutiques, but also plenty of junky diners to stuff your face at. A grey city scape yet surrounded by nature.

WHAT IS THIS, 2014 TUMBLR ? — short answer: yeah, kinda. trends always hit a little late in this town. by the time everyone’s moved on to something new, we’re just now starting to pick it up 4-5 business years later. i’m no different. only just now letting go of my emo skinny jeans and ptv tshirts for mom jeans and oversized sweaters. this is just showing the fall wardrobe tho, i’m always messing with my personal fashion. you can pry my ptv t-shirt from my cold dead hands.

BARE NECESSITIES — always need my sketchbook. you wouldn’t catch me dead without my art supplies. my video camera, in case i need to make a memory permanent. my 3ds, modded to all hell with literally any game i want. my modded ipod, i’ve got an obsession with older tech. i couldn’t get my hands on a first gen, so a 7th gen classic will have to do. it was so much fun cracking this thing open.

THE GANGS ALL HERE — ew emos. anyway. i want to focus on the more intimate things. eating together late after school, watching our favorite shows, urban exploring places we really shouldn’t be in , hitting the arcade, making memories and keeping them saved on my little camera. they’re funny, chill but adventurous. Childish and free.

do the taste preferences vary by alter (if you’re a system which I think all the current mods are?) or is there some things the system generally likes?

Mod Weeping ❤️- most of us prefer sweet stuff or occasionally savory stuff. We also love sour in the answer that we fucking love citrus- we will eat straight limes. And love lime and/or lemon on almost everything. We also loveee garlic. Although there are a handful of ppl who just LOVE spicy food, especially this one alter. She will eat spicy food until the body is crying but it doesn’t bother her- it usually burns the mouth of whoever is close by tho lmao. There is one alter who can’t handle citrus well tho and it makes him feel really sick for some reason?

Mod Morpho 🦋 — I have such a big sweet tooth, but I also heavily salt alllllllll my food. I don’t think the taste preferences really vary at all between us tbh.

mod wonder - oo, i think my preference is just carbohydrates in general. pasta, bread, rice. i adore salmon too. i love a lot of sweet stuff, but especially semi-sweet or dark chocolate things. sweet fruits like peaches are really fun. i can’t do spicy, partially due to allergies, and partially because i can’t handle a cheeto’s worth of spice. tastes very much do vary by alter for us, we never know what we’re gonna be in the mood for. some don’t eat meat, some prefer savory or salted or sweet, etc.

Mod luxray 🐈‍⬛️⚡️- Honestly anything that ain't plain ill eat, Being mexcian and all ya kinda half to lol, I LOVE LOVE LOOOVE dark chocolate and bitter-sweets, licorice, etc, though as a basis spicy candy will always br my favorite

Mod Bugz - My go to with the flavoring options is Spicy because any single one of those options (sweet, savory, salty, and I'd debate sour). I don't like bland food, to the point I won't eat bland things unless its a thing of being polite. Taste preferences do vary from alter to alter, and there's actually a really funny thing that happens each morning when the debate of "coffee or monster" starts bc it's a pretty even split of alters liking coffee or monster or both (and some who prefer teas, but they are usually fine with either option).

Mod Avon - SPICY!!! Love me some spicy food. I also love sour foods! Our parts do vary with what they like to eat. Also, yes, I do oversalt my food (I have POTS, the kind that is helped by salty foods, soooo).

Rae: I feel like this one was aimed more at Admin, since I mostly jumped on as a Devoted Fan Who Wanted To Do His Part! I've been getting a lot of joy out of learning more about music in various games and the people who make it, though. I think ULTRAKILL has been the standout for "game I knew basically nothing about to Oh Fuck Hello??" from this blog, although special mention to #626, Dark Riders from Star Stable Online because I'm still not over it WHAT THE FUCK????

Rae: I'm about the same as Admin, I've heard shockingly little of the music submitted! Especially so for series a lot of people know, like Kirby or various Mario games or, like, Minecraft!

Rae: Penis poll is one of my favourite Tumblr terms, it delights me every time. True penis music honestly. Honestly, I always find it interesting when there's a very close and extreme split between two results -- #218, 666 Kill Chop Deluxe from LISA: The Joyful is the most notable example, but there are a few and I always like seeing them.

Rae: Concurring with NieR, especially Replicant my beloved. It has Kaine!! Do it for her!! Rae: I'm possibly a little biased in my viewpoint but I'm surprised by the fact that the Fate series has so few submissions. Fewer than comparable VN series I thought were less popular in the West/on Tumblr-- okay actually, I need to comment on this because it keeps making me laugh, WHO SUBMITTED ALL THESE TRACKS FROM RANCE??? Don't actually answer that, I'm just delighted and bewildered by the fact we've apparently attracted like all ten Rance stans on Tumblr??? Anyway, there's barely any Fate here and that's wild to me.

Rae: God, choosing an individual piece is quite difficult but I think my gut choice for my favourite song is "Unknown Mother Goose" by wowaka, both the original Miku version and the hitorie version. It's either that or something by The Hoosiers, I think.

Admin: Yes!! This has been really fun and ESPECIALLY so since I finally figured out some things to help me maintain it without messing with my insane schedule within the last few months. I definitely need to make a proper list of my favorites but I think my most favorite song that I discovered 100% from submissions alone is #212, Tenebre Rosso Sangue from ULTRAKILL. (this wasn't an anon ask, but I forgot to write the blog name before deleting the ask to clear it from my inbox... </3)

my favourite kind of results are what i like to call the penis results. it usually happens when "like it/first time hearing it" gets the lead while "like/sounds familiar" and "don't feel strongly" take like 10-12% each. are there any specific poll results that you've found particularly interesting for any reason

Hoping I can bypass the ask bug I’m having with a submission, this stuff should really be an ask. Well, multiple asks. We have a few issues, and quite frankly, our therapist is insufficient in answering them. I’m hoping for advice, or guidance to advice, or sources of advice, or… whatever really. We’ve asked the therapist some of these questions already; others we suspect they won’t be able to handle. I’ll mark which is which. Issue to address 1: We are struggling to handle that we all have different ambitions? Like, two of us want to be different types of engineer, I want to be a writer, another one of us wants to be an artist… We’ve asked the therapist about this and they basically said “Who has the best plan?” Issue to address 2: One of our alters has been manipulating another for… a while. I’m left wondering what to do, as are our 2 helpers; there’s no way that’s a healthy relationship. The manipulator acknowledges this; the manipulated denies this. We have not asked our therapist about this.

Hey there! I hope the formatting of this post won’t be too strange since it was sent as a submission.

1.) Many people we know (including singlets) have multiple different ambitions. It can be difficult to decide what to pursue, especially because interests and goals are naturally going to change over time. 

A good method to approach this is to make a list of questions, and apply them to each potential ambition. For example, say you decide to pursue writing as a career. How many system members agree or disagree with this ambition? How many system members are capable of writing, how many enjoy it?

 If you only have one system member out of the whole bunch who enjoys writing, it would be very impractical to pursue it as your collective full time career. If that member were to stop fronting as often or lose interest in writing, suddenly y’all can’t put bread on the table. Same goes for any other profession.

The most practical advice I can give is to find something with which several of you enjoy, or at least are capable of learning and doing. Perhaps if you were to do freelance and contract work, you could pursue multiple job types simultaneously or rotate out what you do. That may exclude some jobs like engineering, which typically require a degree or certificate and full time dedication. But there’s a lot of possibilities! Maybe you could attend vocational school, and then write / do other art on the side. 

Compromise is the name of the game when it comes to living as a system. Nearly everyone, system or not, has to compromise in some ways on their ambition or career goals. That’s just a natural part of it, and I think you’ll come to find that finding middle ground will make whatever career path y’all choose a lot more comfortable for everyone. 

2.) It’s difficult to give advice here without knowing more specifics. If the manipulator acknowledges what they are doing, I suppose the best next question is why. Considering they’re both helpers, it seems logical to guess that the manipulator believes they’re doing what’s best either for the person they’re manipulating or the system in general. 

The most important thing is to get to the root of the problem. Find out why they’re doing it and a way to solve that problem without using manipulation. It should be your priority to support the person being manipulated, of course, but it’s unlikely to stop unless you find out what’s causing the manipulator to behave that way.

In the aftermath of the battle, Nya is more than ready to take a much-needed break. But the life of a ninja is messy. Recovery is never that simple. Although the wounds may have healed, the scars still remain.

Zane’s scars seem to match up, though. And maybe together, they can begin to heal.
