DOVE - she/her, the assistant. a common, yet friendly face around the facility! caring, loving, and with a fresh start.

ASTRO (temporarily on hiatus, will return soon) - they/it/he, a shy member of the staff who lurks around, nothing suspicious going on!! Just a sleepy guy who will occasionally draw. Don't let him catch you staying up late!

JULES - he/xe/they/clown, my role here is undetermined. The attic owner.

Tired of leaderboards and lives running out?

Introducing: the ConcerningDuolingo Classroom.

A while back, I made a Duolingo account and created a Duolingo Classroom there. Today, I finally logged back in, found the join code, and joined it from my personal account. Now, I have infinite lives, and I am excluded from leagues, which I found were getting in the way of learning in the way I wanted to. (Long story short, I've been in the Diamond League for almost 70 weeks and didn't want to let go, but after coming back from Italy, it didn't adjust to the time zone the way I thought it would, and I dropped down without realizing. I'm finally free whew). Anyway, I wanted to give y'all a chance to reap these benefits and invite you to join the classroom.

I have dysgraphia, which for me means I can't spell for shit. I rely on auto correct and Google to make sure I spell things correctly and if that doesn't work, I end up misspelling words as simple as "fire"

Hi nonnie! You’re okay <3 Unbeknownst to y’all, I suffer mentally with a lot of things that make me a) really sensitive, b) super terrified of upsetting people, c) super afraid of abandonment.

I just thought people were genuinely upset with me, and I was going to lose everyone. It’s very horrifying.

Plus, my chronic fatigue has been kicking my ass (chronic pain in my spine hasn’t subsided either…) and it’s just making me extra emotional. Thank you, nonnie. You’re a sweetheart and please don’t feel bad!

Sounding off Patchs' approach before their usual-* "Greetings, Cheeky." *-There is the glowing mass of eyes hiding in the vent slits. Patch keeping just far enough away from the broken vent opening to avoid any light that enters from it.* "Do you have time for a question?... I've been... wondering. Do you know anything that could explain why you were attacked in the blackout?... Also, how is the... healing going?" SKIN ANON

When I was a kid in 4th grade and tdi was airing on tv, my best friend, her brother, and I would “play” total drama island, and we would pretend to be total drama characters. Because this isn't a very well known thing apparently, I'm going to educate you all on Dysautonomia and POTS :D

“Dysautonomia” is the general term for disorders that disrupt your autonomic nervous system (ANS). It can describe several disorders, each with varying symptoms. Dysautonomia can range from mild to severe. Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) is one of the most common forms of Dysautonomia, affecting about 0.2% of people worldwide.

The autonomic nervous system (ANS) controls unconscious bodily functions such as breathing, heart rate, and blood pressure. For people with Dysautonomia, this system doesn’t work properly, causing the previously mentioned examples to go out of control at times. This can cause fainting or dizzy spells, weakness, fatigue, nausea, difficulty with balance, sleep problems, etc, and can also be fatal if not properly managed.

Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) is a condition mostly affected by changes in position (ex: moving from lying down to standing) and causes the body to have difficulty regulating blood pressure and heart rate. Because of this, blood pressure drops while the heart rate goes up to at least 100 beats per minute to try to regulate it, causing lightheadedness and fatigue.

The best ways to help with dysautonomia are changing diet to increase salt intake, drinking more water, or taking medications to increase blood pressure. Other ways to help are to find a trustworthy provider that the affected person feels comfortable with, keep a journal to document daily symptoms and activities, have an organized system, be prepared with water, snacks, and any necessary medications, and for the person to advocate for themselves. This is an actual thing and the symptoms are very real. Don’t let anyone say otherwise.

The most common people to have Dysautonomia are people of Jewish or Eastern European heritage and women between 15 and 50 years of age, but can present at any time and also found in men.

While Dysautonomia is usually caused by genetics and lasts a lifetime, there have been instances where it was temporary and caused by another condition.

I'm not going to put any silly faces and emoticons in this. It's too important for that.

I hate him. Not that surprising, since I'm FROM Galar. Hammerlocke was one of the cities hit the hardest considering Eternatus was right there above it. I was absolutely one of the lucky ones during the Darkest Day. I didn't die or get seriously injured, which is better than some people can say. But I saw it. I'll never forget seeing it up there, clouds swirling around it as it pulled up debris. I'll never forget the panic either.

Point is, he hurt a lot of people, both physically and mentally. No one in Galar is the same anymore. I would be lying if I said I didn't hate him. I think everyone in Galar does, to some extent. He's the reason I don't have a single friend back home who doesn't keep a light on at night. He's the reason I cry if the power goes out. He's the reason why I attended more funerals in the following two weeks than I had before or have since. I will celebrate the day he dies like a holiday.
