✨First up: Looooook at baby Phoenix 🥹 hehe! This was the first time he visited Mt Komorebi and the first time he saw snow... sparking his love affair with both. If you listen carefully, you can hear Wolfgang yelling in the distance, "Yo Penis!" (I miss that nickname. Special thanks to Becca for never letting it die 😅)

✨Ahhh The Bluffs -- I think this is my favorite lot in game, and look how stunning it is at sunset! This is from Phoenix's 18th birthday... aka that fateful night when [redacted] was [redacted]

✨Atlas and Asher, my loves. There's so much in this scene for me... I had such a clear picture of it in my mind looong before I created it in sims, and I was pretty happy with how it came out. And the song I used was very purposeful (even if I never state why lol) This moment here was actually quite self-indulgent if I'm honest.

End of Year Collage - Best of 2021

Rules: Find your fave pics of your story or your blog in general and post them up in a collage! :D it can be 1 picture or 100 whatever you want. But just reflect on your fave moments in your story or on your blog. It can be cute moments or pictures you’re just really proud of.

I did this last year and decided to make one for 2021, to celebrate simming, the one source of joy I got out of this crapfest of a year.

I did not sim much this year, so some months have no entries, which saddens me. Hopefully I’ll have more free time this year.

MY THOUGHTS (for each month) under the cut:

January: Misty’s Esoterica

My mission in 2021 was to do A Year of Cyberpunk. I uploaded at least one C2077 set every month, and dried doing as much gameplay as I could before school started in autumn. By far the most well received gameplay post I made (all dang year, in fact) was the very first one, for Misty’s Esoterica, with almost 100 notes, which is bonkers. I’m so glad y’all liked it! ^_^

February: C2077 Gangs Pt3: The Mox

Out of all my C2077 Gangs posts (Tyger Claws, Voodoo Boys, Moxes & Wraiths), y’all really seemed to like the Moxes the most. It’s so insane to me how C2077 doesn’t let us join any gang except those rusty dusty Aldecados, when there were plenty of other gangs people resonated more with, ironically enough. Frikkin sad. 

March: The Mists of Avalon

I was back on my Witcher BS in March, as I finally got around to finishing the swan boat conversion--it only took like a year or more. XD

April #1: Spirited Away to Green Isle

April #2: Dragon Boat Festival 

For April I returned to one of my absolute favorite CC worlds, Crowkeeperthesimmers’ Green Isle. The plan is to turn it into a Sino-Japanese faeryland based on all my favorite myths and folklore. But for April I kept it light, and just did some Spirited Away gameplay, and tested some CC.

May: I didn't post any gameplay in May, so I used two April posts instead.

June #1: Nagron & Bartros C2077 AU - Pride 2021 PtA

June #2: CQL/MDZS Prequel 1a: The Yiling Patriarch

June was dedicated to my C2077/Spartacus AU gameplay. It was 100% inspired by Pretty Woman, cuz I frikkin love that movie, and it’s a really good fit for Nagron, since in canon Nasir was a sex/body slave, and in C2077 the Moxes are sex workers. As soon as I saw the Moxes in C2077 I knew I was going to do my Nagron gameplay, and I like how it turned out. <(^_^)> Once I finished that, I started my The Untamed gameplay, which I REALLY need to return to, omg.

July #1: Farm Sweet Farm - Part 3 🐑🐐

July #2: Yoru no Machi Pt4 - The Bug: Operation Daemon

July was mostly dedicated to getting my Untamed gameplay going, but crazy enough the posts y’all liked the most were from my Sakura & Ryuu 007-wannabe time-traveling C2077 AU hijinks, and me letting Nagron try out GPL’s adorable Sheep Mod. :3

August #1: No Save Point - Run the Jewels

August #2: CQL/MDZS INSP - Gusu Arc Pt4b: HanGuang-Jun

August was The Worst (TM). Not only did I relocate to another state & new school (which I’m not crazy about so far TBH, my department is a mess--thanks, corona >_<), but Tumblr banned me over that whole site-that-shall-not-be-named craziness. At least I had time while I was waiting to hear back from them to do my No Save Point post, with more gameplay of Sakura & Ryuu going around in my C2077 AU causing problems. Another post I was particularly proud of was my Hanguang-Jun post for The Untamed, which I had hoped to post during Hanguang-June Month, but just didn’t get around to in time. U_U 

September: I didn't post in September, so I used two July posts instead.

October: Sakura & Ryuu: Meiker INSP Simblreen

I didn’t do a thing this fall, as I was busy back in hell--I--I mean school. Sakura & Ryuu were all over the place this year, I don’t know why. :P

November: I didn't post in November, so I used two August posts instead.

December: Happy (Belated) Birthday, Magnus Lightwood-Bane!

I missed Wei WuXian’s birthday in October, and then I went and missed Magnus Bane’s birthday in December, too. I was so disappointed. But I decided that it was better to do my Magnus post late than not at all. He’s my husband, okay?

Danse:

he’s never had a real crush before and you bet your fucking life that he has no idea how to deal with it. he wouldn’t notice the crush at first and would be completely oblivious to it until he found himself growing strangely flustered at sole whenever they were in his presence. everything they did, from modding power armor to simply just staring at him with their breathtaking features, always pulled the paladin out of reality, making his heart beat in all different directions and forced him to become speechless even if he had a million things to say. upon realizing that he may be harboring feelings much more than friendship for his long term partner, he becomes more attentive and protective towards sole, even if it goes out of his notice. he would find himself taking over her tasks in sanctuary despite her pleas so she can rest a little longer and take a break from all her responsibilities. danse would become more frantic over soles health, often scolding her about the importance of self care whenever he noticed that she was neglecting it and if she refused to listen, then he’d take matters in his own hands. he’d grow abnormally nervous and concerned whenever sole was away without him for too long and would literally run over to her the minute she’d come home, bombarding her with a million questions before his worries could completely subside. deep down, danse knew he wanted to shield sole from the dangers they faced everyday and pry her away from any kind of pain that could be inflicted on her. he figured it was impossible but knew damn well he could at least try, even if it killed him. soon enough, his crush for sole would grow painfully obvious and knew that he’d have to confront her about it when she started picking up signs.

Deacon:

terrified is an understatement. he found himself panicking at the thought of being attached to someone once again and tried to do everything in the book to perish those emotions as quickly as it came. unfortunately for him, no matter how much he pulled away from sole, he always found a way back to her despite his mind screaming at him to escape. god knows he wouldn’t be able to; not with that dammed smile, perfect personality, and smart mouth. now that she was there existing in his mind rent free, there was no turning back no matter how hard he tried. regardless of his newfound feelings, he’d still continue to act normal around sole, often pulling jokes here and there but everytime he’d try to friskilly flirt with them like he used to, his cheeks would go visibly red and his mouth would become dry whenever sole played along with his games. once he accepted the fact that he was in love and ready to move on, he’d spend every waking moment with her, trying to make her laugh whenever they were together just so he could see their smile. even if he tried to stray away from it, he became more affectionate towards sole, often letting his touches touches linger longer than necessary, offering a shoulder to her whenever she needed it, and just being the rock everytime life decided to knock her down. he’d observe sole a lot, noting down whatever she seemed to have interest in and all the details, small or vast, he could capture of her. remember that necklace you wanted when you looked at a run down magazine at a shop? deacons got you covered. feeling sad? he’d be kicking through that door with an armful of fancy lad cakes before sole could shed a tear. he’s more than willing to go out of his way for sole without a second thought just to ensure shes happy and safe in this chaotic world.

Hancock:

hancocks a natural flirt, it’s definitely obvious by now and sole knew it herself since the day she stepped in goodneighbor. if he wasn’t flirting with her, he was often caught flirting with people he found attractive. after a while though, that habit would deteriorate the more he spent time with sole and got to know her better as a person instead of the commonwealth hero. the idea of one night stands and random hook ups didn’t appeal to him so much anymore as he leaned more into the idea of committing to sole and the possibility of what they could be. he’d find that his flirtatious comments would grow more genuine whenever it left his lips and that his actions were much more gentle and affectionate whenever they were together. his once provocative thoughts about her would be replaced with more innocent ones and he’d constantly wondered how her lips would feel against his instead of observing her ass in that vault suit like he normally would. hancock would often give sole pet names, such as sunshine and sweetheart, and would completely abolish the nickname ‘sister’, pushing it away from his vocabulary as time went by. hancock would constantly tease sole with comments or actions, often telling her she’s absolutely beautiful to caressing her face gently just to see the sight of her wide eyed and flushed with his own very eyes. that image of her was definitely a sight for sore eyes- it made his heart swell with love and awe, a feeling he thought he’d never experience in his lifetime. he would give up anything in the commonwealth, even his love for chems, just to be with sole and stay by her side until the end of time.

Maccready:

he’s such a dork and is absolutely head over heels for sole the first time he realizes he has a thing for her. though he doesn’t go over the top to show he admires her or anything, it’s more than enough to display exactly what he feels for her. whenever they’re out on a mission, mac would always try to impress sole with anything he knows he’s capable of doing or exceeding just to catch her attention, even just for a moment. his suave and cocky attitude while doing so would immediately crash down into bits once sole sent him a dazzled grin or displayed her amazement at his skills. he would then become a flustered and anxious mess, stumbling over his sentences as he tried to pull himself together. mac would become more open with her, showing sole his interests excitedly, like his comic book collection, or telling her stories that he’s never told anyone besides lucy. he’d allow her to pry into his private life and is more than willing to have any type of conversation with her regardless of whether it was personal or just small talk. maccready would frequently gape at his companion with a lovestruck smile on his face and a dreamy glint in his eyes, admiring everything about her from her appearance to her personality. even if sole didn’t notice him doing so, others did and boy did he look like a lovesick teenager.

Nick Valentine:

it wouldn’t take nick forever to realize he had fallen in love with sole. though it’d take a while to accept, he’d eventually warm up to the idea, realizing that the more he pushed away from it, the worse the issue would become. after all, there’s no better way to confront a situation than to encounter it first hand. he’s really old school when having a crush on sole, mimicking prewar actions to show that he really cares for her outside of professionalism. nick would open doors for her, give her his coat whenever he caught her shudder, pick flowers from a garden to give to her, and overall just be an absolute gentleman. he’d literally drive ellie insane by talking about sole all the damn time, whether about professional matters or personal ones, and if her name ever slipped his lips one more time, ellie might just grab a book nearby and knock him unconscious just to catch a break. just like hancock, nick would push away the nicknames he usually used for her, such as kid/pal, and would instead replace it with ‘doll’ or ‘sweetheart’ - it seemed much more romantic and meaningful. he wouldn’t hide the fact that he has interest for sole and would make it known that he has intentions, but would never force sole if she wasn’t comfortable. luckily, she was more than comfortable.

Gage:

he would be in major denial with his feelings for sole. gage would assume it’s just a simple infatuation for the overboss and try his best to ignore the feelings that surfaced whenever she was around. there was just no way he was gonna commit to something he was uncertain of. as much as gage denied the truth, he couldn’t avoid the change of behavior that followed after that realization. he found himself defending the overboss more when someone badmouthed or threatened her and would go out of his way to kill them himself if they stepped a little too close for comfort. not for soles comfort - his comfort. whenever someone displayed any signs of affection or interest towards her, his eyes would shoot daggers directly at that person (who eventually backed away, intimidated) and his hands would clutch his rifle until his knuckles turned white. everytime sole felt down and let a few tears slip, he couldn’t bring himself to give her space like he once used to and would instead accompany her, attempting to ease her pain with small comments and a hand on the shoulder. the thought of being the person behind the one in charge soon faded into nothing as he caught himself saving sole more than once from the dangers that dared to meet her in his presence. he got more than few bullets and bruises while doing so and he found that he didn’t mind that at all. he’d let sole be affectionate to him; when she’d lay her head on his shoulder, let her hand brush against his when they were close, or lay a hand on his chest, he’d find himself enjoying it much more than he should and slowly began to crave it more. his previous thoughts of committing to her would switch entirely and he’d realize that maybe being in love for once wouldn’t be so bad after all.

Preston:

he’d come to accept his crush for the general pretty quickly. she was amazing and genuinely kind hearted after all, so there was absolutely no reason why he’d try to pull away from this feeling. prestons a huge sweetheart when it comes to sole, often complimenting the way she looked that day, sending her small comments of appreciation to know he’s grateful for her in his life, and would go as far as leaving them small trinkets hes found on his adventures, telling her that it reminded him of her. whenever sole was brought up into a conversation, he’d feel his ears perk up and he’d immediately butt in, praising her as a person and for all that she’s done for the commonwealth. he wants to make it known that she deserves more than what she is given and that all her deeds do not go unnoticed. everyone noticed the big smile on his face and the proud look in his eyes whenever he speaks about sole to others and would laugh at his joyful tone as he continued on. it’s almost identical to a child talking about their favorite toy on a show and tell event. he tries to give her the life she deserves by showing little acts of appreciation; leaving an extra box of dandy apples near her bedside so she had something to snack on, sparing a few extra caps to buy her a drink whenever they were out and about, and even cleaning up her room whenever he had the time to do so. in the end, everyone knew that sole had preston wrapped around her finger and anything she needed or desired, he was more than willing to make it happen to the best of his abilities.

Sturges:

sturges hesitates at first, believing that he’s nothing special compared to sole. it would take him a billion years before sole could actually look at him the way he looked at her, but comes to the conclusion that it wouldn’t hurt to try and pursue her. just like nick, sturges is an absolute gentleman to his core but shows it with different actions. instead of picking flowers and opening doors for sole, he’d focus on doing things that could benefit her in the long run. he’d mod whatever weapons or armor she left behind, ensuring that sole had the best of the best while venturing the wastelands and would try to upgrade her living space, adding anything that he knew would put sole more at ease whenever she came home. he would also guarantee there was an extra plate of freshly cooked food and a drink waiting for sole on her kitchen counter in case they decided to come home that night. before sole would go back out in the wasteland, he’d pack a special bag full of stimpacks, rad x, radaway, modified weapons, and other useful things she might need on her adventures, sending her away with a soft smile and a simple, “get home safe.” besides his actions, sturges would try to converse with sole more whenever he found the time to and find any excuse, even if ridiculous, to spend time with her, disregarding any plans he had that day.

the crush is absolutely foreign to him. he wouldn’t be able to utterly process the feeling at first, confused whether his systems were malfunctioning or not but would notice that his behavior would be drastically changing the more he walked the wastelands with her. he’d catch himself staring at sole longer than necessary, observing her features while she was distracted and allowed it to engrave every single part of his perplexed mind. he’d talk less, unconsciously taking in sole’s voice whenever they spoke and letting that melodious sound replay in his head for an unhealthy amount of time. with this new crush came new emotions he was never programmed to experience - fear, worry, happiness and relief. the strange thing was, it would only rise around her. whenever she was hurt or away, he felt fear and concern, whenever she was laughing and smiling, he felt a sense of happiness and the minute she’d come home from a dangerous part of a mission, he’d feel a wave of relief. he yearned to know more about her outside of professionalism, asking questions about her personal life and interests as he became more curious. as sole opened up more to him and let him see the better side of her - the one that was playful and was full of smiles and laughter - he’d feel the strong heartbeat bang against his chest for the first time in his life. once he realized he had it bad for sole, he was too far into the rabbit hole to ever turn back.

Reacting To: Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts (Season 2 Episode 9)

Episode Title: All That Glitters

Spoiler Warning: Kindly proceed if you’ve already seen the episode or are able to handle spoilers.

1. Now that the truth about Dr. Emilia being the one responsible for driving a wedge between mutes and humans is out, everyone is pretty much against her and they want to stop her from getting to Scarlemagne’s coronation. However, Kipo mostly wants to talk to Scarlemagne and probably convince him to join their side. 

2. Gerard then arrives shortly and Benson, Wolf and Dave go into hiding. He tells Kipo that she’s ordered by Scarlemagne to join him at the food court. Side note: I am loving the wink Kipo is giving us here in this picture. 

3. As Wolf, Benson and Dave are making their way back to Dr. Emilia’s headquarters, they are discussing about their plan of action, which is to hand over a perfume bottle to her instead of the nectar bomb so that they can use the bomb to blow up the tunnel’s entrance to prevent her from getting to Scarlemagne’s palace.

4. When they get back, Dr. Emilia already knew about them lying to her. She confronts them about it but they try to play it off like Kipo is very stressed out about having to fight the Mega Monkey and that’s why she ran off. I’m trying to connect the dots here; Does Dr. Emilia know that Kipo is Song and Lio’s daughter? No, right? Just checking lol. They then hand over the fake nectar bomb to her. 

5. Dr. Emilia tells Zane and Greta that they seem know of their hidden plan to kill Kipo after using her. Therefore, she has no choice but to use the sonic emitter on the Mega Monkey since Kipo isn’t around. 

6. Meanwhile, Kipo is randomly playing a board-game about strategy with Scarlemagne and they’re actually having fun with each other. However, it’s not all fun and games for Scarlemagne as he reveals that all the mute groups will be arriving tomorrow morning and he has something ready for them. I guess he’s going to use his pheromones to control them?

7. Kipo tries to convince him to not follow through with his plan but he won’t listen to her since becoming King was all her ever wanted. Also, Kipo needs to stop saying “Hugo” around him; It’s definitely his trigger word. She does have a plan though and proceeds to then break her dad out of prison. She wants Lio to help her make Scarlemagne a present but Lio isn’t so convinced that it would work. By the way, I didn’t appreciate how Lio referred to him as a “lunatic tyrant” and neither did Kipo. Lio abandoned Hugo and it was a crappy thing for him to do. Point. Blank. Period. 

8. Dr. Emilia is now ready to deploy her rescue teams, which comprise of the Alpha team, the B team and the Strike team. But before they could go, Benson tells everyone that he made pancakes. I immediately knew that this was a set-up but it’s funny how Dr. Emilia couldn’t see that. After serving them pancakes, we notice that Mandu is feeling left out of the group because he feels like he doesn’t contribute as much as the others. Poor thing. Eventually, Dave goes into the tunnel to detonate the nectar bomb. 

9. As I’ve predicted, Kipo is trying to recreate Hugo’s old blue blanket with the stars pattern on it in order to bring out the inner Hugo from inside of Scarlemagne. I love how Kipo is calling out her dad for giving up on Hugo so easily. I so agree with her; Her doing so convinces Lio to go through with her plan but as they make their way to Scarlemagne, they are spotted by the Mod Frogs.

10. Benson and the others are continuing to whip up more pancakes for the humans. But OMG BENSON! Why did you have to expose Song’s old journal like that!? *faceplams. Dr. Emilia is caught off guard by this but doesn’t do anything. Suddenly, we hear the nectar bomb explosion and Wolf tells everyone to check out that tunnel, which had caved in. Oh and Benson just had to leave the book on the table. Nice going Benson...

11. The Mod Frogs are now attacking Kipo and Lio for destroying their home but Kipo is able to handle all three of them very easily. Scarlemagne sees all of this and questions them. He also sprays his pheromones on Lio and get the truth out from him to which he confesses to Scarlemagne that he regrets giving up on him. You can tell from the look in his eyes that him saying that to him means a lot. 

12. It also looks like the Mod Frogs are going to be in a lot of trouble it seems. Back to the nectar explosion, Dave, Benson and Wolf manage to trap the humans near the site but of course, they didn’t account for Dr. Emilia.

13. Scarlemagne is playing Kipo the song he plans to have for his grand entrance but he ends up not liking it. Kipo, in turn, plays a suggestion of her own, one that is more relaxed and Scarlemagne really likes it. Lio and Song sure do raise their “kids” to be musically inclined. Eventually, the two of them play a piano duet. That’s really cool! I really hope Scarlemagne’s turns “good” by the end of the season. 

14. That’s so awesome. I love seeing them bond like that. After playing the piano, Kipo suggests to Scarlemagne that he should act like more of himself  with the other mutes in order to gain their loyalty instead of forcing them to follow him. However, Scarlemagne doesn’t think that anyone would choose to be his follower. Kipo thinks otherwise because he’s likable to her. She then passes the blanket she made for him and apologizes to him for everything that happened to him. She leaves him be in order to give him space to re-consider what he originally planned to do to the mutes. This has gotta be my favorite scene of the entire show thus far. It really warmed my heart. 

15. It’s time for Wolf, Benson and Dave vs Dr. Emilia. Let’s see how Dr. Emilia’s fighting chops are like lol. Well, she’s a pretty good fighter actually. She did knock out Benson and Dave (poor guys) and with Wolf, it’s pretty even. Well, she shouldn’t be so proud of herself since Wolf is a little girl after all lmao. In the end, she outclassed Wolf and throws all three of them into her glass cage to potentially lure Kipo in to rescue them. I guess this is Mandu’s time to shine? Where is she anyways?

16. After breaking Stalky (to Wolf’s heartbreak), Dr. Emilia is stopped by Mandu (there she is!) and we get this bada** fight scene between her and Dr. Emilia. Mandu is killing it out there! And guess what? She defeats her by stinging her leg with Stalky’s broken part. Mandu is the MVP of this episode for sure! She then rescues the others and they’re so impressed by her; As they should be. 

17. Time is running out and the coronation is about to start. Wolf is very sad about her shattered Stalky but she has to move on without it. I’m sure if they had more time, she could have gotten it fixed. 

18. So we get to the coronation and all the mute groups are gathered there. Despite doing her best to get through to Scarlemagne, it looks like he’s still focused on being a forceful and mind-controlling ruler. He addresses the crowd and tells them that they have a choice between swearing their loyalty to him or to oppose him and become encased in solid gold, like in the case of the Mod Frogs. Oh my...are they dead? I guess they are...So, the mutes have no other choice but to pledge their loyalty to him.

19. We find out that Scarlemagne only turned the Mod Frogs to gold because he doesn’t want them to bother Kipo again. I guess Scarlemagne still has a soft spot for Kipo despite all the other treacheries. Nonetheless, Kipo is upset with what happened to the frogs. Scarlemagne sees that she’s hurt and tells her that he is willing to let everyone go if she’s willing to let him gild (I had to Google that. It basically means cover something in gold) Lio. She obviously declines his offer and that’s that; Scarlemagne is then crowned emperor.

20. This was another solid episode from the season. As you can tell, my favorite scenes were the interactions we saw between Kipo and Scarlemagne. Scarlemagne is definitely fond of Kipo due to her showing her sympathy towards him but he’s still hurting from his past and it’s hard to change him.

Chapter 1, Chapter 2, Chapter 3

“God dammit (Y/n), we were so worried about you.” He said. His eyes were gleaming with worry, as he hugged her. She stood still, not moving. She wasn’t ready for this. Her body was screaming run, run away now and don’t look back. She was in flight or fight mod, and he could sense it. He took two steps back, his warmth leaving her body, and looked at her.

She pushed past him and started running. She couldn’t, nor wouldn’t, be near him. He wasn’t hers. He can’t touch her like that. Her heart shouldn’t thump like that. Why can’t he just leave? Why couldn’t I disappear? The whooshing of someone above her, knowing who it is, made her speed up.

The twigs were cracking, under her feet. The crunch of her hitting the floor, was combined with the screaming of her name, Her hair moving past every tree branch. Her legs and arms covered in scratches and Bruces. She ran until she was face to face with the avengers. FUCK. She thought.

“What the fuck (Y/n)?” Tony’s cold glare threw her off. She huffed and puffed with every breathe., standing in the middle of the street. With a thump, Peter landed next to her.

“S-sorry Mr. Stark, I scared (Y/n) and she ran.” He said, lying through his teeth. (Y/n) glanced at  him and nodded.

“Don’t worry kid, it's not your problem.” She sighed, pushing through them to get to the car. Steve placed himself infant of her. She looked up, annoyed, and tried to pass. Tony grabbed her arm, turning her around.

“Where the hell do you think you’re going?” Tony sighed. His hands were shaking, as he pushed his tousled hair back. His eyes bore dark circles and his breathe smelled of whiskey and coffee. He was a disaster.

“To the compound, if thats still my home.” Steve stiff shoulders sagged down instantly. He stepped back, looking at her. He hadn’t realized how much of a mess she looked. Her hair was all over the place, skin lifeless-even though it was spring, almost summer-and her eyes were tired, lacking their spark. How could he miss that? She was losing her will to live, just like Bucky did.

“We should talk at the compound, Tony.” Tony raised an eyebrow as Steve glanced at Peter.

“I’m taking her with me.” (Y/n) sighed and stepped into Tony’s black SUV. He slammed the door close and looked at her.

“What Tony?” Her flat, uninterested, voice echoed around the car. He looked out the window, seeing the trees pass by as Happy, who was stealing glances at them, drove.  

“Why?” She turned her head and looked at him. His defeated stance made her cringe. He was done, she had pushed him to the edge. He was done with her and she knew it. God, why do I ruin everything? Why can’t I be enough?

“I-I don’t know.” She mumbled to herself. He looked at her, really looked at her. (Y/n)’s eyes were puffy and swollen, her lips dry and cracked, her skin looked dull, she looked like a mess. Closing her eyes, she wished that all these feelings were gone. She couldn’t understand why it was all hitting her now and not months ago.

Happy stopped the car, turning It off and slowly retreating. He was a meddler, but this was a mess Tony and the others needed to solve. (Y/n/n) and Tony left the car, immediately, not talking to each other.

This was rare, in fact this was weird. (Y/n) had always been a talker, never shutting up. Once, as happy recalled, when they had go and take her molars out, the doctor had stated “No talking for a few hours until the bleeding stops.” That didn’t stop her. She had been joking and taking nonsense, not matter how much she bled out. Tony had to tie her mouth shut. He grabbed one of star-spangles scarfs used to “disguise him”-even though we all know it never works.- and tied it around her jaw and head, shutting her mouth. She looked like an adorable little girl, with a big black bow on her head.  That didn’t stop her from smiling or joking around.

Steve looked at Peter and at Wanda, through the review mirror. Maybe she’s right and (Y/n)’s in love with the kid. He sighed and looked at the road ahead. It wasn’t a long drive, maybe 5 minutes top but he had to tell the kid to leave. Peter’s just going to make everything worse, much harder. He looked at Bucky and nodded, he had to do this.

“Peter, I think you should go home.” Steves asserted. Peter rapidly looked up from his phone and opened his mouth but the shut it up. He looked confused and scared, all at the same time.

“B-but Mr. Rogers I’m (Y/n) friend and I really wanna talk to her. She just’s been avoiding my calls for the past few days, and yesterday when she walked out of school she was acting all strange and I-” He ranted out. His mouth kept going until Bucky stopped him.

“Look kid, some time apart won’t kill ya, ok?” Bucky shut him up. “And if she wants, she’ll call ya later, but right now we need to talk to’er.” Peters shoulders slump in defeat. He looked at Bucky and nodded. He grabbed is backpack and looked inside, realizing he had a way to see her.

“I’ll leave but… shouldn’t I give (Y/n) her homework?” Bucky looked up at Peter. He was grabbing some kind of text book. His eyes roamed to Steve, who only nodded.

“Go ahead kid.” Peter nodded and ran out of the car towards (Y/n)s’ room. He knocked on the door and waited for a few minutes.

(Y/n) expected to find Steve or Tony at the other side of the door, not Peter. She raised her eyebrows in confusion and nodded at him.

“Miss Glenda gave out the instructions for the end of year project, we’re in a group with MJ.” Peter rambled on. (Y/n) rolled her eyes, making Peter stop. He bit his lip and looked down.

“Oh, Yeah, I almost forgot. Here, you can copy my notes for history and we have an exam on Friday. Read chapter 10, or maybe just ask Bucky and Steve. It’s all about World War II, the howling commando.” He kept going on and on. (Y/n) grabbed the spreadsheet about the chemistry project and saw how important it was. How was she supposed to work with MJ? She hated her right now, but most of all she felt hurt. It’ll be torture seeing them together. She thought. It’s enough with school, its enough with being Tonys’ problem, now I had to pretend everything’s ok? I just need a break.

“(Y/n), hey, hey, hey, you ok?” She looked up at Peter and sighed.

“I can’t do the project with you and MJ. I’m sure Ned or Betty would want to trade. I could ask Luna to work with you… but I can’t do this” She stumbled out, moving away from her door towards her bed.

“Why can’t you work with us? It’s not a big of a deal, it’ll be a week of us working together at max.” Peter stated, walking after her.

“It’s that I don’t want to work with you, it’s just I’m not in the best of terms with Mitchell.” Peter noticed her harsh tone. He noticed how her lips curled in anger when she mentioned MJs’ name. He couldn’t comprehend why she was so mad at such a wonderful and intriguing  person. Weren’t the supposed to be best friends? He asked himself.

the opening flybys of MM just... show you the world, and the people in it, living their lives, and Link unobtrusively in the middle of it all

various locations (my favorite is the graveyard with link sitting playing games with the skeleton children) but it always ends with the music souring, growing faint, the darkening sky, the lowering moon

the message is clear: this is a good place, it is in danger

(hidden message: it is not your good place, but that shouldn't make a difference, your heart instinctively goes out to these people who look so familiar)

contrast to the openings of the other games

oot: link is very solitary, a hero riding alone, interspersed with very dramatic scenes of his exciting adventures, it is a story of Destiny and Prophecy and Good Versus Evil

which matches as well with the actual first scene and the mood being set in each

oot: the lonely child, dreaming of horrible things and quaking in fear at his own powerlessness, and the friend who comes to him, navi the fairy, the literal Call To Action on his hero's journey

ww: your peaceful life, your idyll, your complete detachment from and indifference to history and destiny, until your idyll is violated by schemes older than you can imagine

tp: cold open on a soft and melancholy mood, a mature conversation between adults and the responsibilities they bear, emphasizing the humble beauty of life and hard work

mm: an even more intensely somber mood than tp - link riding alone, as he does in the dramatic openings of several different games, but slowly and with head down, plodding along through featureless woods... a heaviness and sadness to the scene, into which the ambush and robbery is jarring not only for the violation of your personal belongings but also for a violation of your quiet and inward mood

i just love that deeply unsettlign opening - the sound of a laugh over a dark screen, the mask rushing over your view, alternating between the heart and the horror, the horror and the heart

(the dark heart, the empty heart)

a game that really grips to the power of ungrounded images against the darkness - the mask salesman, some of the stories being told, Link undergoing his transformations where the whole world falls away and there is only darkness and solitude in this moment of pain

unrelated: i really love how they designed the clocks in mm, not just the big one obviously but the little copies scattered throughout the world! my sister and i once sat and stared at one until we could understand how it is tracking time. i love the colors and all the spinning parts.

actually i love all the textures and colors in mm, it's so much more detailed than oot, and one of the many reasons i haven't replayed it in forever is because i wanted to wait until i could play it via hypatia's high-res mod

i wonder if the "huh? this guy? ... well, that shouldn't be a problem" was a reference to skull kid recognizing link (from their own youth, playing music together in the forest) or if one of the fairies pointed out the Sword, Shield, Steed heroic combo he's got going on

... okay so the thought of "what happens if the ocarina breaks" has played into MULTIPLE vast epics of loz fanfiction that never saw the light of day off my own personal hard drive

but it's a chilling thought! you are so helpless without it, even more than you are without a sword (because your adventures are based in doing the impossible)

for being a voiceless game it actually has a lot of voices, more than i recall in most other zelda games - everyone emotes a little bit, everyone is recorded

i still remember the first time i played this and realized that you do FLIPS when you jump now AND I HAD NEVER BEEN SO EXCITED

a move they tried again, with greater success, in TP - beginning with your vision very narrow, literally climbing up from the depths of confusion and decay until you are finally high and out and able to see where you are

i like the moss growing on everything too, it's such a nice touch

this is what i'm saying, every square inch of termina is carved and painted, they stacked layers and layers of patterns onto the same polygon shapes they used for oot and it's so neat, i love heavily-textured and decorated worlds

i've spent a few minutes now looking at the symbol painted on the inside of the clock tower door, and i can't parse it - three green shapes in the midst of red curlicues? maybe it's nothing, but if it has a meaning i want to know what it is

i missed everyone having pointy ears in the N64 zelda games! in ww and even tp it's a lot less common, no longer a given. but an integral part of the zelda world to me was always the hylians with their long ears and the gerudo with their round ones, and that transcendentally racist bit of lore that hylians were better able to hear the gods because of their ears.

Hiya! Love love love all the help you and the script family give to writers! I was wondering if perchance you'd have some tips or tricks on how to justly convey a a choir scene with the lyrics written down on the page for the reader to see. What I mean is, how would one give the scene the proper atmosphere, as though the choir can almost be heard by the reader?

Aww, thanks Anon. Well, huge caveat first off that I’m not a music expert (in terms of that end) nor do we have  a scriptmusic in the Official Family right now that I could defer to unfortunately.But, from a reading/writing perspective, my thoughts would be to NOT overuse the technical terms anyway.The reason being that ~technical terms~ in that kind of context might be confusing, or if you had to explain them all, boring to read, and might kill the “atmosphere” you’re going for; it could very well read like an infodump.If you want to evoke “atmosphere”, then what you should probably do (I would think), is focus on describing the more generalized sound and/or specific feel of it - especially the thoughts and  feelings the music evokes in the listener(s). Which itself can be used as characterization!For example:- Is the choir in a large space with echoes that cause it to sound ~haunting~? And if so, does a lonely character feel more lonely or small hearing that effect, or does the character feel transported, euphoric, closer to God (which is part of the point of Church choirs, of course)?- Is the listener a musical adept with the gift/talent of Perfect Pitch, who notices That One Soprano is off-key, or that the Alto in the third row could really use a cough drop, or that other one up in the top row is just mouthing the words omg - and if so, how much do the things they notice, actually bother them? - Are they an alto singer who wishes they could hit the high or low notes the way the sopranos and tenors could - or (borrowing from my own experience here) are they someone who used to sing pretty well but had something like a throat injury/illness that makes it currently hard to sing like they used to, and they feel nostalgic or sad or even lonely/bitter because they can’t be a part of something like this anymore right now?- How do the words of the song effect them? What do they associate it with? What other actions are interspersed with the lyrics that could give it meaning or emphasize the meaning? Does it remind them of their loved one who’s dead or lost, and they’re struggling to keep composure - or does it inspire them? It’s not just the nuts and bolts - or should I say, notes and lyrics - that should be used or rendered, in other words; what you do include, needs to have a good reason to be there, whether that reason is emotional, plot-related, theme-related, etc. Otherwise….well, why is it there? You know?And on that note (har), it’s possible - not guaranteed but possible? - you may want to chuck this question to @scriptstructure​ ? (Mason, the mod of ScriptStructure, is kind of recovering from Stuff right now judging from the last post, but has noted the Asks will be gotten to in coming days, so - be patient, but it looks like Mason’s not on Hiatus, so…?)Anyway. I will say though you should consider two “technical” aspects from a writing standpoint:1.) keep in mind that some lyrics - not always older hymns, but some gospel even! - are copyrighted; and because of this, if it’s not an original work by yourself, you may need permission to reproduce these lyrics if they don’t happen to be in the Public Domain.  Before you get ahead of yourself about how to include lyrics, in other words, it’s a good idea to know if you even can include them, or whether it could make a legal fuss for you if you do.2.) I’ve seen formal ways to quote lyrics within prose given as something like: “First bar or whatever / Next bar…”. This works great if you’re critiquing the lyrics themselves, but you know the saying about “rules were made to be broken”? Yeah, you don’t have to do it this way if it would be awkward for your prose in a novel or short story; I could think of several alternate ways that would be more “organic” to certain styles of writing, ranging from “centered in italics as its own paragraph, interspersed with the action”, to “rendered as normal dialogue, with tags/context/possibly italics making it clear that it’s sung by the choir” - and everything in between. You may even need to experiment a little, see what feels “right”, and/or just worry about editing it later! (Probably not what you were hoping to hear, but >_>) You may also want to look at other prose works (or novelizations thereof) that have included songs in them, for inspiration or in some cases to see what doesn’t work well in your own eyes - which can be just as valuable, trust me. :P On that front, I can’t think of any of the top of my head, but perhaps look around, ask a librarian for recs, or check the notes of this post in case anybody has a suggestion?Hope this helpful in some way at least, and like I said - perhaps take some time to consider the “reasons” it’s in there, and pose the question, with that context, to @scriptstructure in the next week or so?-Mod VorpalGirlFeeling generous?
