Levidromes

A levidrome is a word that when spelled backwards makes another word. Well, at least not yet. It is not in the Oxford English Dictionary. Levi Budd is a six-year-old boy from British Columbia in Canada who has coined the term 'levidrome' after spotting that the word 'STOP' spells 'POTS' backwards. After realising that there is no such word in English for this phenomena, a social media campaign has started to get this word in popular usage (hence this post). I wrote a short Python script this morning that will pull all of the levidromes from a dictionary file. The full list is copied below.

It is interesting to note that some levidromes are also palindromes. I wonder whether we need a new word to describe this phenomenon also?  Furthermore, there is no word in English for "a word that you make up in order to make another word make sense". I suggest: "emordivel" ?

I swear you guys get the POC mod question everytime an @//ura controversy pops up. I notice more and more that the sh@llies love to start drama w/ her. I could seriously roast everyone for it no problems. Anyway @ the other anons wanting to get commentary from mods about POC related rants maybe instead invite other POC who are willing to get off anon to respond to your ask via ask or comment? Like I'm sure there are other POC willing to talk so the mods don't have to keep explaining themselves.

Yeah i’ve noticed that as well. Saladmen tend to be keet stans and keet stans tend to hate a//ura. 

The thing is, v0ltron has a lot of characters of color so inevitably those issues are going to come up at some point. We do our best to stay respectful and most of the time we’re either agreeing with anons who are poc or repeating points from fans of color. And it’s sort of unfair to avoid those issues when they do come up because they are important to address. Especially to those who are affected directly.

Adding another mod is complicated because they have to be an adult and they have to be someone we can really trust (i.e someone we’ve known for a long time) and honestly we’re just not looking for anymore mods.

That said, people are always welcome to correct us if we’ve said something wrong or add onto what we’ve said. Either on anon or off. But it seems people would rather point out that we’re white than actually raise any issues with what we’ve said.
