I'm definitely in the camp of people changing Gale's left eye to reflect the fact that the orb is literally crawling up his face like a creeping vine and that should mean something. However my hot take is that rather than imbuing his eye with a magical netherese appearance I think it should be another way he looks sickly as hell.

Like, the orb is taking everything from him, his status, his magic, his health, his belongings, and now it's starting in on his eyes too. When there's nothing else left to take, it will begin dismantling his body piece by piece. I chose this particular eye because not only is it bloodshot and raw, but the lighter color implies that the orb is draining him of everything down to the color of his irises, leaving behind nothing but a faint netherese glow as it does its work.

Not only is it a totally overt, unavoidable reminder of his actions and what has befallen him, but I bet it hurts. His vision probably suffers, floaters drifting occasionally through his field of view as he feels the orb creeping up through his optic nerve and consuming him from the inside out.

I think different routes taken in the game should affect how his eye looks as we progress. When Elminster pauses the orb, maybe his eye dims and the bloodshot look diminishes, the netherese magic unable to continue its work for now. If he doesn't claim the crown of Karsus, perhaps he just lives the rest of his life with one eye devoid of color, like a scar. If he does claim it and ascends, maybe his eye would glow brighter, filled to bursting with the netherese magic he now controls.

Alternatively, maybe his eye simply returns to normal as he forces the orb to give him back everything it stole from him.

It was only right that the first time I played a Paladin, it be the Fandom's favourite Tief Grandpeepaw.

Using the 'Play as your favourite Tieflings' Mod means I get to play as the Good old Paladin, Commander Zevlor-

Close-ups on his distinguished greys are the bonus, other than the fact that Divine Smite is OP!

Fun fact, his horns are listed as Hellrider's Pikes!

I also have the mods Improved Oath of Devotion, P4 Horn, Makeup and Lip colours, P4 eye colours, FacesUnlocked, and Alternate Horns for Tieflings, which allows me to customise his horn tip colours.

I gave him the Urchin background, as it says in the Forgotten Realms storyline, that he joined the Hellriders as a Squire at twelve, after being orphaned.

To get his stats perfect, I had to use the Ability Improvement and Weapon Master on the first Level Ups, plus the Mod Instant Level 12. (You can level up when you like via the character wheel, but in Cannon, he's Level 7.)

I headcannon that his Holy Sword was a little like the Tyr one from Ander's but blessed by Helm.

(I had to level him up for the fight against the stupid Harpies, because I sold the default Paladin weapon to get the armour.)

For anyone wondering, this works on Console as well as PC, and you CAN also play as Dammon or Alfira, so you could make your Karlach X Dammon ship sail in-game if you wanted.
