Hey y'all, do you have any experience with the Visible app and arm band thing? I've been using the app for a month or so, and I think it's helping a little, but I don't have the arm band yet and I'm not sure how big a difference that will make. I think I probably should be tracking my heart rate, but I cannot overstate how much I get rings and bracelets caught on things, especially during flareups. Like getting beltloops caught on door handles but even more so, so I think maybe the arm band will be better for me?

#the person behind the yarn #I think having texts to my phone to say hey. sit down.#would maybe help #because at least this week that's been one of my main problems #not realizing my heart rate is shooting up until it's in the Bad Symptoms Zone #which for me is like. 160s standing still #I meant there is also the moderate symptoms zone (120-140s) but I keep missing when I'm in that zone???#idk why I am not noticing anymore but I am not anticipating getting sensitivity to that back soon #because I was off my meds for two months (because my doc said I didn't have the thing the meds were prescribed for)#not getting into details but last time I had one of these symptoms it took me like a year and a half to get back to baseline #I don't anticipate it taking that long this time because A. I have meds for it and B. I know to eat more salt #but uh. I do anticipate that while I will be feeling waaaay better than I have been in the last two months by like next week #I probably won't be back to what had been my normal for a few months #(last time this happened was the very first time I got sick twelve years ago)

Why is it so hard to say those two things at once?

#I'm not trying to oversimplify an extremely sad and horrific situation rooted in a very complex history.#I'm trying to simplify what our slogans should be as outsiders.#Netanyahu #Israel #Gaza #Hamas #Hostages #October 7 #Palestine #Genocide #As outsiders our activism SHOULD NOT be attempting to solve a geopoltical problem we don't understand.#It should be a call for justice right now. Period.#Call me a crazy moderate but I genuinely do not understand what is so impossible about acknowledging the horrible suffering and fear #That both sides have been experiencing for generations #Do not pretend that acknowledgment is a matter of condoning actions. It is simply compassion #Express compassion. Call for ceasefires. Literally that's it except for activism in your own government about however THEY are handling it #Anyway. The main problem some readers are having with this post seems to be that I chose to use the word 'genocide.' I understand that.#And believe me as a moderate I weigh words like that very carefully before using them.#For example I only started officially tagging 'authoritarianism' for the USA like...2 days ago. If that says anything.#So... no I am not going to retract that word or change the original post at all.#But reading your responses I hope I have gained more perspective on how that word feels to you guys.#I appreciate the civil discussion in the reblogs. My congressman posted a video on Bluesky about how the congressional committee he’s on is meeting this week to debate potential cuts to Medicaid and that he’s going to be fighting for it and arguing to cancel planned tax cuts for the wealthy that are the excuse for cutting the Medicaid in the first place.

And someone in the comments asked “What are you doing to stop them?”

Look. I get we’re all frustrated with the inaction from some democrats. We’re frustrated that doing things the right way is slower and less interesting than staging a counter-coup. But seriously? The WHOLE FUCKING POINT of posting the video is to inform us about how he’s going to DO HIS JOB by debating in this committee to try to stop yet another bad thing from happening.

Like. Please list for me all of the ways a sitting Congressman can try to stop shitty legislation from passing. Oh gee, is debating it in committee on the list? Is informing his constituents and publicly asking the constituents of the other committee members to call their congresspeople on the list?

I honestly don’t know what this person is expecting here. He’s literally telling us what he’s doing to fight this. Is it anything exciting? No. If this makes it out of committee do I hope he’ll step it up and get loud about it? Yes. But on this particular issue at this particular time this is what he is supposed to be doing to stop them.

#ok besties please pray for me about the following things:#1) i just got home from my grandpa's funeral and can we pretend you knew the whole time and don't need to say anything #for whatever reason it is not something i'm wanting to process online or even really with in person friends #all's well and he's with the Lord and the funeral itself was gorgeous #but there's various pain and grieving in the family and also the family time gave me a good bit to think about #2) i have 8 days before visiting family ~again~ for a bridal shower in ohio #and leading up to this trip i was sick and the trip was moderately exhausting #and i'm feeling more and more urgently the need to actually let my body rest but the obstacles are constant #and during those 8 days i need to do a great deal of dissertation writing and editing #plus you know. easter #3) i just got sent an apartment listing for where i am moving and it feels real and pressureful in a new way #both the stress of should i go for this one do i want to deal with the problems?#and the sadness of committing to something new and letting go of here.#both those things i believe will be helped by me getting inside and eating dinner so i will be doing that soon #on the praise side this puts me close to some of my grandpa's siblings #who were all at the funeral and so excited for me #i really really love and admire that side of the family more the more i know them #they were also a really big family and very hardworking and faithful and! good at celebrating together!#ok that's all i love you guys. if there's any week to be processing big questions and having a funeral it's holy week

Coach: just 40 minutes of high resistance biking, (a fourth of it standing), 30 pushups, 40 lunges, a minute plank, and going up and down stairs around the stadium :) :)
