1. Draw a large rectangle in the middle of the paper.. 

2. Draw a large dom in the middle of the top and two domes beside the main dome of the mosque. 

3:  Draw a large door in the middle. Draw some windows on the right and left sides of the door. 

4. Add details like doors and windows. Draw lines to show the floor separations. 

5. Use colors to bring your drawing to life, as my tutorial shows. You can give it a different color if you want.

Islamophobia has been spread in the ignorance of people about Islam, its people and religion. The negative media portrayals of Muslims made the matter worse. People believe that Islam is a primitive religion and Muslims are backwards in case of women rights, that they silencing the women rights.

The fear and hatred grows due to the terrorists attacks in paris, 9/11 and many events took place done by the ISIS. True Islam rejects all forms of terrorism. As Islam is a religion of peace so terrorists have nothing to do with Islam. Allah (God) does not command us to terrorise His creation to prove His religion and also teaches to be kind to all mankind. 

I have picked a creative problem-solving task to communicate an interesting message, I picked a topic of “Islamophobia” (fear or hatred of Islam) in order to point at the problems that it’s causing. However, by spreading awareness about Islam I think of giving a peaceful message through my design that will communicate effectively with my target audience and grab their attention so they can seek knowledge. The whole idea is to educate people about the religion of Islam that what is it all about, but not how media portrays it with negativity.

To overcome with the problem, In my work, i have present the religion of Islam in a best positive way that what Muslim’s beliefs are. By designing illustrations, i gave educational message to people that Muslims supports hard work and it’s culture is enriched with Islamic Art, colour, calligraphy, geometry, architecture and much more.  

I have looked at the Islamic art, geometric patterns and calligraphy. The use of geometry in Islamic art reflects the language of the universe and the greatness of creation. The use of circles in geometry have no end they are infinite so they remind Muslims that Allah is infinite. They also represents the symbol of unity and diversity in all creation. However, the deep religious association with the Qur’an, calligraphy made major forms in the Islamic culture, because figurative art is not permitted. Muslims writes the word of God in decorative way to decorate their mosques and buildings. After the research in these areas, I have made my own patterns, Islamic art with watercolours and arabic calligraphy with ink pens. I had to draw them very accurately and precise, that’s why i had to practice first using the step by step guides and tutorials. 

For my inspiration, i have looked at the bayeux tapestry and the Grayson Perry’s series of six tapestries that explores the British fascination with taste and class. Perry is an English artist known for his ceramic vases and cross-dressing. His tapestry depicts the political protest and celebrity gossips. Inspired by Perry, bringing British artist inspiration to give an eastern message of Islam, I create my final outcome in his style that he did on the ceramic pots. Therefore, drawing my illustration and calligraphy i will explain the Muslim’s faith and belief through illustrations  and Islamic art. Text and image together will help the target audience understand what this piece is about and what’s the message behind it. 

However, for final piece i designed my own illustration and words that later i scanned and edit on Photoshop. Using the tools in Photoshop, i manipulate the images and calligraphy to neaten it up and position everything on the right place for the best tapestry layout. I get this idea from Bayeux tapestry to create a modern style tapestry with words and figures.

Moreover, i designed  the small illustrations that presents the 5 pillars of Islam that are the five obligations that every Muslim must do in order to live a good and responsible life according to Islam. The viewer will educate from it that what Muslims practices are. I have also done some small illustrations that presents The Sunnah and Hadith that was said and refers to the actions, statements and way of life of the by the prophet (pbuh). Moreover, the verses of the Qur’an with reference that i write with the calligraphy pens will help educate the audience that what Islam says to do and don’ts. Anything that Muslims does that is against the religion is also seen as a sin in Islam. I gave messages on equality, force marriage, jihad, women’s right, unity, peace and on murder. With the reference and verses of the Quran the audience will know about the things that Muslims have being told to do by Quran and following the prophet’s actions. Through my work i want to give a message that islam is a peaceful religion and if you want to learn about the Islam then go study the Islam, but don't study the Muslims. Islam is perfect, but muslims are not.
