Day 26:  #mayvinylchallenge :  Rick Rubin Day!  Highlight A Producer Shout out to Rick Rubin.  His contribution to music can never be contested.  He helped changed the game.  But I currently have little Rubin-produced LPs to display.  Since the option called for highlighting a producer, no choice could be easier... I highlight: JIMMY JAM AND TERRY LEWIS When it comes to production, Jam and Lewis is ingrained in my DNA.  From The Time, to the kick-ass cool trench-wearing mavericks in the Janet Jackson "Control" video and beyond, Jam and Lewis are a part of my upbringing. My musings wouldn't do much good, as the trove of interviews by them can do WAYYYY more justice than I can.  There are many interviews (the gold being the Red Bull and the Questlove Jimmy Jam interviews) being a wealth of information to all of us.  Along with Prince, they are the core of my own sound.  I would be nowhere without the contributions and influence of Jam & Lewis.  Real talk.
