with RTD speed running all the fan favorite theorized classic who characters this season, i predict next season's returning time lord will be Morbius, played by Matt Smith.

"Wish World" thoughts and theories
I bet the Rani picked Conrad because his ideal reality is bound to chafe against a lot of people, increasing the doubts that fuel her machine.
I still want to know why Mrs. Flood was neighbour to both Ruby and Belinda.
As for Belinda, I'm starting to suspect she's not who she thinks she is, and thus not really "real". She literally faded away after being pushed back out of the barrier, something that didn't happen to anyone else. Incidentally, this would be an inversion of the popular theory that Belinda's parents aren't real: they are, or at least her mother is, but she isn't, a bit like George from "Night Terrors".
I know Poppy thought the Doctor and Ruby were her parents when they met her in "Space Babies", but what does that mean, Doctor?
I thought Conrad was the baby until I saw them together.
I predict tension between the Ranis. Mrs. Flood seemed annoyed at having to play servant.

Anyway I only have one real theory walking away from this season of Doctor Who, and that is regarding Mrs. Flood. I think she's another of the pantheon of gods. Specifically, the god of stories, or something similar. The reason she can break the fourth wall, predict events before they happen, and directly address the audience is because she is aware that this is a TV show and has knowledge of future episodes.

I will come to storm down his gates of gold | Doctor who, Empire of Death
I cannot get over how Mrs. Flood, faced with the certainty of her imminent death, immediately threatens to usurp God so she can rule over the afterlife.

At this point I have 3 theories about who Mrs. Flood could be:
1 . The Master, somehow. The evil vibes, the way she acts and speaks, the comment about "she had so many plans" are all things that would fit Master. (Counterpoint to the theory -> the whole talk about meeting the Maker and tearing down golden gates)
Tumblr media
2. Clara, somehow?????? Because of "that clever boy comment" and the way she was dressed, the same clothes Clara wore at some point. (Counterpoint to the theory -> IT DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSEEE)
Tumblr media
3. My newest theory, one i think might be the most probable one. THE FUCKING. TIME ENTITY WE MET IN FLUX!!
Tumblr media
BC IT CAN MIMIC SHAPE!!! And what we see in episode 8??? Mrs. Flood mimicking other thing from Doctor's history!!! Familiar clothes, familiar catchphrases!!!
AND THIS??? Talking about the end of the Doctor??
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And it would be powerful enough to be confusing in the way Mrs. Flood is!! I am connecting the dots!!!

i think the rani was ultimately done very nicely. having her whole plan be eugenics sort with how "racially superior" time lords are is a particular sort of fascist-coding that i think works very well to differentiate her from the master as more of a "mad scientist" villain.
and i'm happy mrs. flood sticks around because anita dobson is delightful and maybe she'll get a chance to become something more substantial and distinct eventually.
