I'm not at all into him personally but I really enjoy drawing the less popular characters in a fandom -- the few people who are into them are super passionate! Although, I'm not sure if Higgins counts as unpopular anymore, there seems to be a lot of people who want to romance him. >_>

Picked up My Time at Portia, gonna make some art for it, and really couldn’t get behind the idea that Higgins is our nemesis. Is he a jerk to us, for sure, but I don’t hate him.

Rant below.

Really reset my brain while playing because sometimes I’ll talk to him when I see him and he made an off comment once where he told me to, “go back to (my) mansion.” I got confused and thought the pc was rich whereever he came from. He’s (I play a dude) not, so I looked into Higgins’ wiki and it seems he’s jealous of us because we show up and immediately start doing well when he struggled.

And I get it, doesn’t give him the right to be rude about it, but I get it. The player character did have it a small bit rough, basically living alone in a shack with pocket change if it weren’t for the help of others. The pc’s moms dead and our dads a deadbeat and we still work hard. I did at least, I pulled a lot of time crunches because I took high level commissions with low level equipment or not many materials in a small amount of time. But Higgins doesn’t know that.

Which is why I’m glad there’s a mission where you can befriend him. Higgins is an extremely hard worker, I see that mf waiting 30mins before the guild opens to grab commissions and during the water pollution he was in pain but I still saw him in the ruins. He’s a workaholic with terrible social skills and I don’t think he deserves the nemesis title.
