there are a lot of reasons why atsumu loves you for his brother―you bring osamu food when he barely has time to eat in the shop, and you send picture updates in the group chat you have with the two of them and ma. you also give him your extra onigiri when osamu says he's had too much.

you're there for osamu in times when he can't be, and for that, he's grateful.

this time though, he thinks he might just be indebted to you.

"people're g'na ask ya to sit on me," osamu glances at your costume before staring at the mirror again. from the dining table across the room, atsumu is holding in his laugh, doing his best to keep the water in his mouth.

tonight is onigiri miya's annual halloween party, and you've managed to somehow convince osamu to dress as a burner―red incandescent light and all.

"so i will," you smile sweetly, adjusting the foam handle of your outfit. the theme for the party is: onigiri miya, and truly, what is more essential to the shop than an electric burner and its pan?

from the side of the room, you think atsumu nearly chokes.

"it'll be cute," you step towards him, reaching for the black switch along his hip, "plus, you even light up!"

in an instant, he glows red, the spiral pattern along his chest lighting up like an electric burner heating up. atsumu snorts, erupting into a fit of laughter as he slaps his knee.

"shit," he wipes a tear while holding up his phone camera, "can't wait f'ma to see this."

osamu looks at him from the mirror, deadpan, "yeah, show'er ya shitty dye job too."

because atsumu doesn’t look any better at all, dressed as none other than osamu for halloween―black long sleeves with an apron, a pair of gloves and osamu's actual work pants. the cap on top of his head rests on temporarily dyed jet black hair, but he's done it in such a haste that his blonde roots are still showing.

you laugh, never quite getting used to their antics despite being a witness to it for years. halloween with the twins is always a memory you look back on fondly, and you don't think this year will be any different at all.

I've been re-listening to the Magnus Archives a ridiculous amount lately, and I just have to say, I never fully appreciated just how well they wrote Jon and Martin developing feelings for each other, like, it wasn't just, they suddenly are madly in love, like, Jon started out hating Martin, but then you start to see Jon and Martin bonding during like, the worm attack, and your like, Nooooooo!!!! Jon why are you so closeddd offfff??? And then around the unknowing when Elias makes a dig at how Martin feels about Jon, and then when Martin is slowly pulled away by the lonely how Jon still goes and looks for him to see how he's doing and because he's worried about him, and then just the whole scene their in the lonely and your like, OH MY GOD IT'S HAPPENING and then on the re listen, it's painful to see the moments when Jon hurts Martin because it's like, Jon whwhhhyyyyy....??? Noooooooooo!!! (yeah, this relationship is so flushed-out it gets two long drawn out Nooooooooos)

Post canon Electra who goes on to freight service with Conrail 2: Electric Boogaloo (in a better timeline where they hadn't de-electrified in the early 80s). In my mind you can turn some knobs and change Electra from passenger to freight gearing (like most real electric locos) and they get thicker and stronger (if somewhat slower) in that form.

It's a common direction with express electric engines after they get pushed out speed-wise. Usually they're powerful enough to be decent in faster freight services. See the PRR GG1s, Rc classes in Sweden, and a number of Nez Cassé classes (even the CC 40100s were intended to be usable for it)

Fun fact: Philip K. Dick in the original "Do androids dream of electric sheep" used androids as a metaphor for people with low empathy. This vision, however didn't get to the film adaptation (1982) where the narrative got changed (which is not a bad or good thing. Just curious how androids are used to refer to different things in fiction)

Still dunno what Thalia might call Luke though 🤔 Cause he's already a little jaded of the gods to begin with so he'd probably try to lean away from directly Hermes-related nicknames? The hero of Time is a fossil because his story is so old and long dead that the shape of his corpse has been filled in with sediment and calcified it and the now people can only guess what manner of creature he used to be by the shape of his bones.  I can't put the words into the story but I read a book about how in ancient Greece farmers would find mammoth bones and call them bones of giants. the bones discovered in a place with many thunderstorms were called giants, who fell in battle against Zeus. people knew and questioned the stories but they still called them gods. was that boy a hero? did he really abandon their world? hello bee? i feel like you'd appreciate this crumb without the story. i don't know what to do with it but its fun to toss around in my head. he's old. he's time. he is bones in the shape of a huddled child, but his form is so strange to us we called him a warrior, a beast, a giant, anything but a small thing huddled in the ground long ago. I'm not like babying Time the grown man, I'm thinking the story of him. Wind’s idea of The Hero of Time and the Guy that we call Time are not the same person, ok? Taps mic. Like is this thing on? I’m sorry there aren’t more options, I only had 10 spaces or I would’ve included more. I tried to go with the most common and obviously with groups!

What counts for singing is up to you. I think most people sing some amount, but you can decide if yours counts or not. The reason for this is because you can teach yourself an instrument, so not requiring lessons or anything for either instruments or singing.

If you want to learn an instrument, especially if you don’t currently play any, I would love to know if you shared!
