i think what tswift really needs is one person on her team who is completely unimpressed with her because say what you want but she has seemed to surround herself with yes men who are going to heap praise on her no matter what and at this point even the media is unwilling to criticize her or even say her projects don’t live up to expectations. i don’t think we would have gotten to the point of lyrics idealizing the 1800s if someone along the line told her maybe not everything she does is perfect the first go around and she needs someone to edit her work before it goes onto the next biggest album in the world.

i want to make a really bitchy post about taylor swift but it’s like so bitchy i think even people who give me a long fucking rope in my criticism will be like ‘okay enough’

okay slept for a few hours and i think i have managed to create a concrete opinion on the album. while i thought the surprise double album was fun everyone saying no album needs to be 31 songs and 2 hours long is right and to be honest my guess is it would have been significantly less boring-to-unlistenable if she cut like. well. about half the songs. i also think all the posts from swifties that are like oh all the lyrics are so deep i don’t understand them i need to sit with this album until i do. bestie. you can admit the album is long and convoluted and you couldn’t focus for two hours on what is. and i’m sorry but it really is just. i cannot stress this enough. a breakup album. and not a particularly deep one.

ohhhhhhhhh wait i just got it. everything clicked ALLLLLLLL she cares about is the numbers. like i knew she cared about the numbers i’m not an idiot but i did think that she at least somewhat cared about the art as well. but i think actually she doesn’t because this behavior is so embarrassing especially for such a mid fucking album unless you literally do not care except to see your name number one around the world to the exclusion of literally everyone else which is. unhinged unless you literally do not care about the creation of art as a whole. like not even just your art, the entire concept of art. and so i must conclude that she doesn’t. and what i have never gotten over even though she’s like my top listened to artist is there’s just something missing. and i think the something missing is the fucking. heart. like eating a homemade baked good versus a fucking twinkie. she’s as close to a computer generated pop star as we can get without verging into miku territory and/or using chatgpt. thank you unhinged blonde woman for finally making this clear to me i think your hold on me has finally released. maybe.

saw a post that was like "ultimately this album will be very important to 19 year olds who have just discovered the concept of the fixerupper shithead boyfriend but ultimately she is 34" and honestly that's all there is to it. my kingdom for a crumb of emotional maturity in her songwriting lol
