ANOTHER FIVE PT 2
FIVE HARGREEVESXREADER
Tumblr media
parte 1 aqui -> https://www.tumblr.com/anaargent/758436879965274112/the-heaven-is-here?source=share
-Ookay - you say after a long pause, your hands tightly clasped with the new five, who after ending the confusion stated that everything was wrong in this timeline - so shouldn't I be in this line?
-Almost that - he says, still sitting on the couch next to you - you shouldn't be on that five's timeline - with a tone of disdain on his tongue, he points to his five, who was now in commission mode activated, keeping a safe distance from his clone - by the way, you don't look anything like me, I must say my dear.
Five glares at the other, the gears in his head turning, perhaps debating between hitting the clone or listening to him
-so where is she supposed to be, genius? - Diego asks confused, with a defensive tone. Everyone seemed to exist with all the information.
-Max - the new five says unperturbed, his personality was almost as unfriendly as the five from the first Apocalypse - She's part of my timeline, where no disappearance happened.
-So how the hell are you here and she is too "Max"?- Five approaches cautiously - how are we going to trust you?
- As much as I would love to, we don't have time to strengthen relationships here, little brother - Max says smiling as he gets up, pulling me with him - apparently you're not smarter than my family either, so I advise you to hurry up and look for Viktor and Ben, you're coming with me, dear - his tone became softer as he turned to me.
Klaus and Diego stand up together, ready to protest. -Whoa, wait a moment - you say, planting your feet on the ground - where am I going? How will I know you're telling me the truth.
Max keeps a calm look - You'll need to trust me, just like you trusted him - he points to Five. After a few minutes of discussion and a farewell too brief to calm his mind, everyone was ready to try to save the world once again. - Stay sober and take care of yourself - you sniff as you pull away from Klaus' hug, who murmurs a sad "I promise but I don't know if I'll keep my word" - and you too, brother - you jump into Diego's open arms, who was trying his best not to be shaken by the sudden separation.
.
.
-So this is the plan? I'm just going to swallow that shiny thing into the void and that's it? - You mumble in confusion, already sitting in the strange subway with Max - Does it all end?
He turns around smiling, a hint of nostalgia filling his beautiful eyes (focus s/n! This has happened before) - Everything ends, the timelines will be separated, everyone in their places, and you with me.
You let out a nervous laugh and look away from the intense look he gave you to the extremely interesting subway window - It doesn't make sense - You turn back to him - How did I end up on the wrong line?
-Believe me, I've been looking for this answer for years, but you're here now- he answers in a melancholic tone, there was more behind those words, but for now you decide not to press this new five, who seemed more fractured by time than the five you know, as if he had already seen too much of this world, and maybe he had .
.
.
You were standing in front of what looked like a huge slimy ball, with a deformed face and long fingers. Scared wouldn't be an accurate word for what you were feeling right now. Closing your eyes, you put your hands on the ground, where the roots of the giant slide spread everywhere, feeling them move over your fingers. "Come on, girl," you murmured nervously. "It's all or nothing."
Then you felt an intense pain take over your body, tearing your skin to rise to the surface, opening the great void and swallowing everything in that damned mall. Everything was a blurry memory, the void sucking the Durango completely, draining all your strength. When you opened your eyes, you gathered the courage to smile tiredly. It was over, your family was saved. Exhaustion finally set in, taking what was left. You prepared to hit the ground and surrender to the void. But you felt soft hands hold your body, lifting you from the cold floor, pulling you out of unconsciousness.
-You got it my lovely little wife, now let's go home - Max smiled proudly as he wrapped the girl in front of him with his arms devotedly. watching you smile lightly as you rested your head on his shoulder.

Oh Boy
Five Hargreeves x reader
A/N: Welcome Milo Hargreeves :)
Warnings: none
Tumblr media
The Hargreeves siblings were on the road, packed into Klaus's eclectic van that smelled faintly of patchouli and spilled coffee. They helped five with a mission for the CIA and as usual, the situation had spiraled into a series of bizarre events. Currently, they were arguing about the quickest route back to the house, with Luther insisting on a shortcut through a dense forest and Diego arguing for the main highway.
"I’m telling you, Diego, the forest is faster!" Luther exclaimed, leaning over the map splayed across his knees.
"And I’m telling you, it’s full of potholes and we’ll get stuck," Diego countered, his brow furrowing.
In the back of the van, Five was sandwiched between Viktor and Ben, trying to tune out the noise. He sighed and glanced at his watch, wondering how much longer this argument would last. His thoughts were abruptly interrupted by the sound of his phone ringing.
"Hold on," Five said, fishing his phone out of his pocket. "It’s Y/n."
The van quieted slightly, everyone curious about the call. Five answered, his expression softening of the thought of his wife’s voice.
"Hey, Y/n. What’s up?" he asked, but before Y/n could respond, a high-pitched, excited voice cut in.
"Daddy! Daddy! It’s happening!" Maddie’s voice squealed over the line, almost making Five drop his phone.
"Maddie? What’s happening?" Five asked, a sudden sense of urgency creeping into his voice.
"Mommy’s having the baby! Right now!" Maddie announced with the dramatic flair only a four-year-old could muster. "She said you need to come to the hospital fast!"
Five’s eyes widened, and he shot up straight in his seat. "What? Now? She’s having the baby now?"
"Yes, right now!" Maddie confirmed. "Mommy’s really funny. She keeps saying she’s never letting you near her again."
Five’s mind raced as he heard Y/n’s voice in the background, yelling something indistinct but likely very colorful about her current situation. He looked around at his siblings, his urgency palpable.
"We need to get to the hospital, now!" he shouted, cutting through the chatter.
"What? Why?" Diego asked, confused.
"Y/n’s in labor!" Five snapped, already clambering over Ben to get to the front seat. "Maddie just called me. She’s having the baby right now!"
The van erupted into chaos as everyone started talking at once, but Klaus, in a rare moment of clarity, turned the key in the ignition and started the engine.
"Hold on tight, everyone!" Klaus shouted, slamming his foot on the gas. "Baby on the way!"
Klaus drove like a man possessed, weaving through traffic with an agility that had Diego clutching his seatbelt and Luther grumbling about safety. Five was in the passenger seat, frantically giving directions to the hospital while trying to keep Maddie calm on the phone.
"It’s okay, Maddie. I’m on my way," Five said, his voice as calm as he could manage. "Tell Mommy I’ll be there soon."
"Hurry, Daddy! Mommy looks like she’s gonna explode!" Maddie replied, clearly enjoying the drama more than Five appreciated.
"Exploding wives, huh?" Klaus quipped, glancing at Five. "Sounds like a blast!"
"Not the time, Klaus!" Five barked, clutching his phone tighter. "Just drive faster."
"On it, Chief," Klaus said, narrowly avoiding a pedestrian as he took a sharp turn.
"Can’t you just, you know, teleport there?" Viktor asked from the back seat.
"I would, but I need to get to the exact location and I can't teleport straight into the hospital without potentially causing a scene," Five replied, his foot tapping anxiously.
"Like this isn’t causing a scene," Ben muttered, gripping the edge of his seat as Klaus swerved around a slow-moving truck.
By some miracle (and a lot of near-misses), they arrived at the hospital. Klaus parked the van haphazardly across two spaces, and Five was out of the vehicle before it even came to a complete stop.
"Come on, move!" he shouted over his shoulder, racing towards the hospital entrance. His siblings scrambled to keep up, but Five was a man on a mission.
Bursting through the hospital doors, Five dashed to the reception desk. "My wife is having a baby! Where’s the maternity ward?"
The receptionist blinked, startled by his sudden appearance. "Uh, down the hall to the left, sir."
Five didn’t wait for further instructions. He took off, navigating the hospital corridors with the precision of a seasoned time traveler.
He finally reached the maternity ward and skidded to a stop outside the room. He could hear Y/n’s voice, alternating between shouting at the nurses and groaning in pain.
"Y/n?" Five called, pushing open the door.
Y/n, in the midst of a contraction, looked up, her face red and sweaty but breaking into a relieved smile when she saw him. "Five! About time you got here!"
"Sorry, traffic was a nightmare," Five said, rushing to her side and taking her hand. "How are you holding up?"
"How do you think?" Y/n snapped, then softened as she squeezed his hand. "I’m glad you’re here."
"Me too," Five said, kissing her forehead. "I wouldn’t miss this for the world."
"Daddy!" Maddie piped up from the corner, sitting on a chair with Allison. "Mommy said a lot of bad words."
"Yeah, she does that sometimes," Five said, smiling despite the chaos.
The next few hours were a blur of contractions, encouraging words, and a lot of hand-squeezing (mostly on Y/n’s part). Five stayed by her side the entire time, alternating between calming her and glaring at the clock as if willing it to speed up.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, the cries of a newborn filled the room. Five’s heart swelled as the nurse placed their baby boy in Y/n’s arms.
"Welcome to the world, Milo," Five whispered, his voice choked with emotion as he gently touched the baby’s tiny hand.
"He’s beautiful," Y/n murmured, tears streaming down her cheeks as she looked up at Five. "Just like his dad."
"I don’t know about that," Five said, his own eyes misty. "But he’s perfect."
"Daddy! Is that my brother?" Maddie asked, peeking over the edge of the bed.
"Yes, sweetie," Five said, lifting her up so she could see. "This is Milo. You’re a big sister now."
Maddie’s eyes widened as she looked at her baby brother, a mixture of awe and curiosity on her face. "He’s so small. Can I hold him?"
"Maybe later," Five said, ruffling her hair. "Right now, he needs to stay with Mommy."
The Hargreeves siblings, who had been waiting anxiously in the hallway, were finally allowed into the room. They filed in, each offering congratulations and admiring the newest member of the family.
"Nice job, Five," Diego said, clapping him on the back.
"He’s adorable," Allison cooed, peeking at Milo.
"Looks like you didn’t miss the main event after all," Viktor said, smiling.
"Yeah, thanks to Klaus’s driving," Five admitted, glancing at his brother.
"Hey, any time," Klaus said, grinning. "Just don’t expect me to do it every day."
Five rolled his eyes but couldn’t hide his smile. As he looked around at his family, gathered around Y/n and baby Milo, he felt a profound sense of happiness and contentment.
Despite the chaos and the near heart attacks along the way, he wouldn’t trade this moment for anything. Because now, more than ever, he knew that his family—both immediate and extended—was what mattered most.

So I was going to write a detailed post describing my every thought on the last season of the Umbrella Academy, but that would have taken forever to write and read. Not to mention people here have spoken about most of those things more eloquently than I ever could. Instead, I want to mention a running theme in the show: family. That seems obvious enough on the surface considering the premise is a dysfunctional superhero family. However, each character is motivated by the nebulous concept of a family.
This has a different meaning for each main character. Sometimes it's by blood, by marriage, or by teams. Each character may have different motivations that could come in conflict with each other's. In season 3, Allison is motivated by a loss of her family (Claire and Ray), Diego and Lila are motivated by starting a family together, and Luthor is conflicted between his old family (the umbrella academy) and a new family (the sparrows).
The problem I have with season 4 is that this theme is tossed aside for no reason. They spend very little time with each other, and they seem so miserable whenever they do get together. Viktor wants to help Ben cause he's his brother, but they have no connection beyond Umbrella!Ben. Allison saves Klaus only to have it thrown in her face. Luther spends the first episode trying to bring the family together and never does it again. But at least these people tried to help. The rest of the family would rather do anything else it seems.
Ben and Klaus immediately walk away after the fight in Maine to do whatever they want. It's been shown that Klaus likes to have people when he's hit bottom, whether that's to help him or just provide company. Ben spent the entire wedding episode angry that he was unwanted. It makes no sense he would throw away several chances to be a part of a family just to be an ass.
Diego and Lila chose to have kids and be together last season. Why are they shown to be completely unhappy now? Lila always wanted a family and people who loved her instead of manipulating her. In this timeline, her parents are alive, she has children and a husband, and his siblings are all there for her. What was the point of telling us several times last season how good of a dad Diego would be to not have that shown? Even if his job sucks and his life is stressful and he misses heroism, his children should be the most important thing to him.
Finally, we reach Five. Five's definition of family has always been his siblings. He fought for them. He killed for them. So him wanting to hide away in some fantasy timeline instead of saving his family is ridiculous and completely out of character. I could believe him and Lila being stuck together and they grow close over the years. I could maybe believe some romantic feelings happened if they truly saw no way out. The problem is that they should have gone straight home once the cipher was found.
The biggest issue is that none of these arcs were absolved. Diego/Lila/Five is never reconciled either way, Allison saves Klaus again and he learns nothing from it, Ben dies a painful death again, and the children are punished for the crime of being born by being erased from reality. The conclusion to the theme of the show is not only do they cause problems in every relationship they have, but that they are the problem. The show asks, What is family? The answer: nothing that can last apparently

Umbrella Academy S4 reaction (spoilers)
I'm a little surprised how negative the reaction to S4 has been. It's flawed and a bit too loose, sure, but I think there's a thematic arc, to do with the painful but redemptive potential of selfless love, that a lot of people didn't recognize, or didn't like, possibly because it's too sentimental, or too tragic, or both.
In particular, I have a really different take on That Relationship. You know the one I mean.
But before I get to that, I just want to address the issue of unexplained plot points, of which there are certainly many.
Short version: Just let it go.
Long version: Comic-book storytelling is all about the impossible premise, the unlikely twist, the overblown threat, the arbitrary race against the clock, the catastrophic non-ending. A big part of TUA's appeal is that it takes that formula to an absurd extreme, unwinding a plot so convoluted and horrifying as to be comedic, then offering a resolution that raises more questions than it answers, and that seems final -- but is it ever? There could always be more. Even now. Because reasons.
But scratch the surface, and it's really all about the over-the-top super(anti)heroes who are surprisingly endearing, nuanced and tragic, whom the audience roots for despite a million reasons not to. Would S4 have benefitted from a few more episodes? No doubt, mostly to give each character their due (Klaus, my Klaus, you deserve more!), and to let the story breathe a bit. The plot probably wouldn't have made any more sense anyway. But c'mon, did it ever, really? So, why a subway? Why a squid? Why a diner? Does it really matter?
On to That Relationship, the much-criticized story of Lila/Five (aka Live -- can I copyright this?). This comically trope-laden ship (forbidden love, montage love, love triangle, enemies-to-lovers, pocket universe, happily-ever-after, etc) fits right into TUA sensibility. Despite being a bit underbaked, it's moving. The actors play it well, and in dropping their characters' armor, you realize how much armor they're usually wearing, how hard they're always working to cover their feelings. Out of all the characters, seeing these two having real emotions is most devastating, especially with each other. It's because this pairing is wildly unlikely that it hits.
Lila and Five have similar histories as traumatized, sensitive souls turned cold, cruel killing machines. They're smarter, more cynical, and stronger-willed than everyone around them. And they are clearly starved of love and desperate for connection. (Everyone on this show pays a price, but I find Five's terrible loneliness the most heartbreaking of all.) So then fate throws them together in a way that makes it inevitable they'll form an attachment, only to then demand of them the ultimate sacrifice. Their surprisingly quiet, life-affirming, Guinevere-and-Lancelot love is redemptive, in contrast with the meddling, selfish, and/or destructive love of others: Reginald and Abigail, Ben and Jennifer, Gene and Jean. Live aren't an unnecessary digression, they're central to the thematic development of the story. Sacrifice saves the world, but without love, there is no sacrifice.
And yes, I absolutely think Lila loves Five to the end. And while I appreciate that some might find the age difference between the actors off-putting, I don't think there was anything inappropriate on a Doylist level, and it all makes perfect sense on a Watsonian level.
Also:
Aidan Gallagher and Ritu Arya are extraordinary;
the use of Baby Shark is genius;
Diego, Luther and Allison have been the least interesting characters from the start, and S4 does nothing to change that;
Viktor needs a sense of humor;
I love that alternate universes are all the rage these days (so many great tropes started with Trek), but tbh Loki does it better;
as visual representations of the space between realities, I love both the Loki automat and the UA subway, but at some point, using recent-past retro design to signal liminal space is going to get old, which, come to think of it, will be deliciously ironic.

I hated the ending to The Umbrella Academy.
Because I couldn't stop thinking about it, I decided to write my own ending. A Season 4.5 if you will.
None of this will make canon sense. I didn't think this all the way through, and this stemmed from late night ramblings with my partner.
So please, enjoy! Or don't! I already have my ideal futures for each character in my mind. I also disregard the Marigold, and that being the reason for the world ending each time.

TW: Mentions of family separation
"There might be another way..."
The Hargreeves siblings all turned to look towards Five. Each of them open to any other idea than having to sacrifice themselves. Allison clung to Claires hand; Klaus leaning against the back of the couch; Luther standing with Victor as they worried about Ben and Jennifer; while Diego and Lila stood at either side of Five.
"Well? What is the other way?" Diego raised a brow to his brother, waiting for an answer. The tension between them still rife from what had been revealed beforehand.
Five began to explain the idea that had occurred to him. It was a long-shot but, in the face of sacrificing themselves to save the world, he thought it might be worth trying. His plan- to split the siblings up in different timelines. Hoping that with them all separated, it would cancel out their destructive power. And with the subway available to him now, Five felt like it was at least worth trying.
The other siblings could only look between each other. None wanting to be the first to break the thoughtful silence. Tension was heavy in the air. It fell upon Luther, the leader of the group when they were still kids, to start the discussion.
"OK, tell us more, Five."
---
All of the siblings sat upon the subway train. Each in their own minds about what was about to transpire. Five, ever the planner, had explained how he was going to deposit them in their most fitting timelines. A favour to each of them before they were separated from each other.
The only sound being the sound of the wheels against the tracks. Lila had insisted on bringing the children and family members to wherever they would go. Claire clung to her mother's arm as they sat side by side.
"Wherever you end up, make the best of the situation. I can't guarantee anything, no matter how much I would love to tell you I could. Time travel has always been unpredictable."
Slowly, the subway train would travel through the timelines. Each sibling departed from the train into the unknown. Until only Five remained, getting off at the last station.

Hello
I'm wanted so bad to see a interaction between umbrella Ben and Five, if he didnt die or they find a way to bring him back to life.
Umbrella Ben was way more nicer and heroic than sparrow Ben, but he also have the sassy and know it all attitude it would be fun to watch him hanging out with the other siblings besides Klaus.
Apologies if this is an odd reply because I am a little slow at reading between the lines. You didn’t technically ask a question, but I’m about to give you a stupid long answer. BUT. Friend, absolutely same. I wanted to see Ben and Five finally talk. As I was thinking about this, I wondered how Umbrella Ben might have come back to life had the plot demanded it (which it should have). The result was 2 possible scenarios:
1. Klaus saves Ben by dying and searching the afterlife for him. And somehow bringing him back because why not.
2. Five learns to reveals time for individual objects and parts of people (kind of like how Sera from the Webtoon Unordinary uses her power). In this way, he reverses Ben’s disappearance—not brining him back to life but just…undoing a second death.
One of these is less likely than the others (I’ll let you decide which one), but let’s roll with it.
Anyway. Because I can’t seem to turn off my inner narrative, here is the interaction I wanted with Ben and Five. In my head, it would have taken place after the end of season 2 while still in the 60s.
When Five sees Ben, it’s unexpected. Klaus is cheering; Victor is crying; Allison’s trembling hands are covering her mouth; Luther and Diego are wrapping their arms around their brother.
But Five just stands there.
He stands there until he makes eye contact with the brother he never saved. Ben gently peels the others off of him and moves towards him.
It’s not until they touch that Five realizes he’s real.
Suddenly Ben’s arms are folding him into a hug and any air Five still had in his lungs gets squeezed out of him even though Ben isn’t hugging that tightly. He doesn’t push him away, but he also can’t seem to move.
Because this is the brother he couldn’t save. The sibling he was never there for. It’s different with Ben than with the others because Ben never made it to 17. Because even though Five went back in time and saved everyone else, he couldn’t save him and he hates that if the choice came between saving most of his family versus one of them, he’d choose the former. He hates it he hates it he hates that about himself.
His eyes start stinging now and so he squeezes them shut and lets himself be hugged. Everyone else in his family has hardly even touched Five let alone hugged him—probably due to their preference for life—but this is Ben and before he knows it, Five’s arms are wrapped tight around him too.
Five can’t remember the last time he hugged somebody aside from Delores.
Finally catching his breath again, Five starts to let go, and he and Ben step apart. Five gives Ben a brief smile before sighing and turning serious.
“Next time our idiot brother feels inclined to lie about you or anything else again, I trust you to bludgeon him with your fists.”
While Klaus shouts an objection, Ben laughs and the sound is like music. Unlike how Five remembers it, his laugh is loud and carefree. Good.
“And exactly which idiot brother are you referring to?” asks Luther.
Five sighs. “Right. I forgot I had more than one.”

FINAL THOUGHTS ON TUA S4/TUA IN GENERAL
First of all, I can't believe I make this account because of this show and waited excitedly for 2 years only to feel so numb right now...
Unlike some people I didn't hate season 3. Season 2 is still my favourite but 3 wasn't that bad, just a bit odd. And there were many directions where things could have went.
Mostly spoiler-free, for season 4 I can say:
-It did answer some long awaited answers but I feel like it didn't answer everything, some things were just vague mentions, and it also created more questions.
-I feel like either some actors were busy, or didn't want to return, because there were characters I expected to see but they were either not mentioned, or vaguely addressed, which was disappointing.
-The ending somewhat wasn't terrible, I have always assumed something like that might have to happen, yet I hated how by the time it did, all the characters were so ruined that I couldn't feel even a bit bad for most.
Now, I'll get into some more details about the things I liked, and the ones I didn't.
Spoilers ahead:
Things I DIDN'T LIKE:
-I already ranted a lot about this in my comments while watching but - Five and Lila! I like(d?) both characters and I thought the journey they had from constantly fighting enemies to reluctant allies to friends who relied on each other, was great. Loved their scenes in the beginning of episode 5.... And then wanted to jump out of somewhere. The thing is, I don't exactly hate the way it happened. I hate the fact that it 1) happened when Lila was already with Diego, and had THREE kids with him, that was basically cheating, and 2) the fact that in the end, it didn't bring anything to the plot. Diego and Five fought almost until the end, and it was uncalled for. It didn't bring the characters' development anything. It turned Lila into a cheater and Five.... Well, I've said before that I didn't see him as aro/ace like some other people, but I didn't see anything that this brought for him. I just think they worked better platonically altogether, because they went a long way and nothing suggested anything between them.
And this also leads to...
-Diego and Lila. For me, they were sorta relationship goals. They were constantly bickering and fighting but it was their thing. They were on the border of toxic sometimes but somehow managed to stick together. So how did this happen?! It could have went a whole another way. Diego realised he really loved her and wanted to be with her. I think that I would have accepted it if she and Five had kissed or something, and she had realised she loves Diego too, and returned to him, but no. In the end, it's unclear what she even feels for him.
-Lack of interactions between Klaus and Ben. Okay, I know this isn't the OG Ben Klaus spent years with, but in s3, Klaus was the one who constantly tried to reach out to him and convince the others to give him a chance. Now, nothing. Luther was the one who interacted with him and looked after him, and then later Viktor. I get it that Klaus had other stuff on his head but it was a weird development, and it felt even a bit OOC.
-The lack of closure to some characters relationships altogether. Ben... Just turned into a monster with Jennifer, didn't get the chance to interact with the rest again. Ray was mentioned to have "walked away", Allison never mentioned him. She spent the whole season 3 ranting like mad, now only Klaus said a word. We didn't even get to learn what happened exactly. And in this universe, was Claire his daughter or no?! Also. Luther literally mentioned Sloane once. Never heard about her again. Like, maybe he had searched for her but it wasn't mentioned at all. Dave also wasn't mentioned even once. Sissy wasn't mentioned. Now, I know all if these characters were from other timelines but they were loved by the Umbrellas, and in previous seasons, they mentioned them, and wanted to find them. Now, not one mention... Even the Sparrows were barely mentioned. Nobody mentioned Pogo. Or OG Grace (well, the robot one they called "mum". Not the real one from the 60ies). I just feel like these were left as some plot holes. I get that the last two weren't exactly needed here, but there could have been at least a mention. They were from the original timeline, the siblings had spend their whole lives with them.
-Gene and Jean. I get it. Every season has some "villain" character(s), but I just really disliked these two for some reason. Won't even elaborate.
-Not even one dance, except for Gene and Jean. All seasons had at least one iconic dance.
-The music, now, I won't complain too much about it, but all seasons had some great songs. Here we had them too, but we mostly listened to Baby Shark, which was hilarious but also a bit weird.
-No epic battle scenes. Well, Luther and Diego had something of the sort, but the end battle was pretty lame, imo.
-They got back their powers, and some of them had new powers too, but it was all unexplained. What happened with Lila, what were these laser eyes?! Also, Allison got new powers, never used the old ones again (I kinda get it, tho). Klaus.... Presumably got the floating? Which was supposed to be a thing in general? But in any case, none of this was explained! I thought at first that they got the powers some of the other children like them had but we didn't learn that. Also, Diego, Luther, Viktor, Five, Ben didn't get any new powers. Diego did something weird at one point but his whole thing was controlling flying objects and I don't count it. And Five's arriving at the station isn't exactly a new power. Ben's was a result of touching Jennifer. Nothing new for them, otherwise.
-Speaking of getting back their powers, no epic battle and all, here's another thing. In s2, in the beginning, and then the end, it was epic! They were all fighting with all they had, unlocking new ways to fight and all. I believe they were at their peak. Five also managed to get a few seconds back in time, Klaus was able to control armies of ghosts. Here, none of that. They were pretty weak. And maybe it was a side effect of just getting their powers back, but it was disappointing. Klaus didn't go back to alcohol and drugs, yet he only saw one ghost of a random guy, then a dog. They could have made the ending at least a bit more epic.
-In the end, the Umbrellas ceased to exist but.... What about the rest of the special children?! This Ben wasn't even from the Umbrella Academy. And ok, in the end, only these got their powers back in this timeline but surely, the thing with the branching timelines must apply to all 40-something. So how only 7 gave up their powers in one universe, and things got back to normal?
-All in all, the weird pacing and vibe. It wasn't as serious as season one, or chaotic as season 2 and 3. There were barely moments that made me truly laugh, and some characters were OOC. And some didn't really get to achieve anything. Viktor, with his whole plan on helping Ben, achieved nothing. Five kinda ruined his brother's family. Klaus... He also didn't achieve anything, in the end Allison saved him yet again. And while it was cute, it also was, I feel, a step back from his characterisation because he was shown as quite adaptive and able to get away from a bad situation. Allison pretty much only saved Klaus. Diego had a family drama, but nothing much. Luther.... He was just there. Ben's arc was ok but I hated how little time he had with the rest, in the end, he never got to feel as part of the team, and Lila just... Ruined her family for someone who is both around 20 years older and 20 years younger than her at the same time.
-This one is pretty much for humour purposes but - Luther without pants way too much!
-I feel like I must be forgetting something but I'll just move on to...
Things I LIKED:
-Claire having much more screen time and actually being a developed character, rather than just someone staying there for the sake of Allison!
-Claire and Allison, and especially Claire and Klaus's relationship! I feel like Klaus would be good with kids, and even change his ways because of them. (He sorta did, despite walking away at one point. I like to think that spending time with Allison and Claire helped him get clean.)
-Allison and Klaus! I mentioned in another post that I've noticed that they were closer even in season 1, where they interact much less hostile and with more fondness that with the rest of their family, in flashbacks he comforts her when they get their tattoos, etc. And then, of course, their reunion in s2. In s3, we didn't get much of them but I loved them in s4.
-Allison and Viktor taking care of each other! These two had some really rocky relationship throughout all of the seasons but they still cared for each other in a way that was different than the rest. They had the true sibling bond but I think by the end, they also learned to be friends.
-Viktor in general. The only character that didn't once irritate me with a decision he made. I feel sorta sorry for him because he seemed to care for everyone. Allison, after all she did, Ben, although this isn't the one he knew. He got to clear things with this version of Reginald, too. Generally loved him here.
-Now I'm a bit bitter-sweet about that, seeing how things developed but, Lila and Diego's daughter named Grace!
-Even more bitter-sweet, and tiny bit hippocratic but Lila and Five, before that one development in ep 5. They could have truly had a good and normal PLATONIC bond.
-Allison, somewhat. She's one of my least favourite characters, especially after season 3, tho she wasn't my fave before that either but here I liked her.
-Luther somehow didn't irritate me either, although I didn't like him much too, before.
-Klaus has always been my favourite and even though I didn't quite like all that happened, I liked his development, his desire to be sober, and his unwillingness to get his powers back. I think he had lots of potential, and obviously most of his problems came from his powers.
-Despite everything, the last scene, with all the characters we've seen before, being happy and all that. Agnes and Hazel! For some reason, loved that even in this timeline, without all else, they found each other! And the fact that the kids of the Umbrellas were still there. This is a tiny bit of a plot hole on it's own but it was a nice scene.
-And finally, somewhat learning how Five founded the Comission, and finally learning what the "Jennifer Incident" was!

what if tua was in toh?
Continuing my quest to clean out my ask box-- this one has been in here for a few days (which isn't that long, considering) so yes!! I shall talk about my two special interests!!
I'm assuming you mean if the Umbrella Academy characters were in the Owl House world? Oh gosh... the Hargreeves on the Boiling Isles.
Shit, now the brainworms want to create witchsonas for the Hargreeves. Which could be a very good thing. Or a very random time consuming thing that has no real purpose or merit besides satisfying the brainworms...
Anyway. I apologize for the pure hyperfixation nonsense that's about to take place below.
Luther. I can absolutely picture Luther being a Steve-esque character, someone who was a firm supporter of Emperor Belos (and very much taken advantage of emotionally/mentally) until it comes to light just what Belos was up to. I feel like he'd be in the Construction Coven, otherwise-- super strength and all that. Maybe with a job like Hunter's after everything's over... Luther the Palismen carver is actually a super tender image. Something gentle and meaningful, something that's a big difference from his tough grunt job of the past.
Allison. My first thought is that Allison would be in the Illusions Coven. Perhaps even a Coven Head, although someone more in a role like Darius or Raine, where she's a double agent. Then again, I feel like Allison would be comfortable with the power she had, at least until she figured out just what the man she was working for was planning to do. Or maybe she'd be like Odalia and be a very influential and powerful ally of the Emperor, although Allison isn't nearly as shitty as Odalia. And a damn sight better mom. I'm going with double-agent Allison, final answer.
Diego. We all know what Diego would do. Him and his little vigilante act. Perhaps he'd be like Eda, existing just to piss off the Emperor's Coven and refusing to get branded. I don't think he'd use a specific type of magic, but also I just can't really picture him relying on magic at all. He's much more of a hands-on sort, preferring head-on confrontation rather than a more tactical approach.
Klaus. First and foremost, Klaus on the Boiling Isles would absolutely be a demon hybrid and he would be fantabulous. I'm thinking... something Adrian Graye adjacent, with a tufty tail. Do you see my vision? It's an excellent vision. Anywho. He'd be in the Oracle Coven, obviously, with communicating to ghosts and all. Although, the gifts of the Oracle Coven aren't nearly as sinister as Klaus' are made out to be. And if we're going off of death connections, Klaus the grimwalker...? I think I have a new vision.
Five. As I was writing this, I was possessed by the idea of Five being an Archivist. Just a little chaos creature who isn't completely aware (or doesn't really care) about the causalities his actions leave behind. Constantly straddling the line between hero and hindrance, both a help and a burden to the protagonist. Oho, I really like this idea of mine. Also, it fits with his time and space bending abilities. That aside, Five's Palismen would be a small dog named Mr. Pennycrumb. I don't make the rules here.
Ben. Hmmm, Ben's actually kinda tricky for me. The others had relatively easy powers to translate in the TOH-verse, but Ben's powers are a lot more dark and gorey. Although, if I'm going with my Grimwalker!Klaus idea, picture this-- Ben's a previous Grimwalker who's haunting (helping?) Klaus? Or perhaps a former ally of Belos's who was killed off for being too dangerous/a threat (perhaps Ben's a demon, and that's how his powers would manifest in this universe. Tentacle boy.)
Viktor. I can actually picture Viktor in more of a Luz role... a human, or half-human, someone who doesn't quite fit in with the rest of the Boiling Isles until he uncovers latent powers or figures out magic through the use of glyphs. Plus, similar to Luz, Viktor was used and manipulated into creating a series of events that almost destroyed the world they loved. Although, in Viktor's case, he really did end the world. Whoops. Also, Bard Coven Viktor???
Anyway, that's me tossing some of my favorite fictional characters into one of my favorite fictional worlds! Honestly, I feel like the characters wouldn't be too different in another universe; both shows have a very dark, chaotic undertone, although one of them is far more family friendly...
Thanks for the ask, Anon!! This was really fun to think about.

my opinion of the umbrella academy
as a longtime fan of the umbrella academy, this season really broke my heart
first off, i want to say that the cast and actors did an amazing job. if the season fell short, it’s definitely not on them. thank u so much everyone, i love u sm
one thing that really didn’t work for me was the love triangle between five, lila, and diego. it felt awkward and unnecessary. and the whole idea of having a barely legal actor kiss someone much older? that was just uncomfortable. the minute aidan turned legal, they jumped into a love plot with him, which felt off. i never saw five as the romantic type, sure there was dolores, but that relationship wasn’t nearly as strange as this one with lila
and what was up with that subway station? why did it even exist? and jennifer coming out of a squid? i’m still scratching my head over that one. i’m also confused about how allison and diego’s kid are still alive. so many weird and empty plot points were left hanging, and it doesn’t look like we’ll get any answers soon….
honestly, it’s hard to gather my thoughts on this last (and awful) season. i’ve been following the show since day one, and the first two seasons were perfect and so much fun. but season 4 felt like it destroyed everything : the characters, the story, even the fandom
klaus’s “side business” didn’t sit right with me, and i didn’t like how viktor was isolated with sir reginald for almost the entire season. the whole ben and jennifer storyline felt unnecessary, and that love triangle just didn’t work for me
if i’m pointing fingers, i’d blame netflix and the showrunners. netflix shows seem to be declining in quality over time. the company used to produce some truly great shows, like orange is the new black and when they see us. but now, it feels like they’re just milking the cow for content without much care for quality i first noticed this with money heist after season 2,it felt like they got greedy and decided to milk the show for all it was worth. sure, netflix is a big corporation focused on making money, but it’s disappointing that they can’t balance that with creating something meaningful. look at squid game 'a brilliant show' that really touched on the struggles people face when they’re buried in debt. but then netflix turned it into a cash grab with reality shows. i can’t help but wonder how the creator of squid game feels about that.

I have so many complaints abt tua season 4 and i haven’t even finished it yet.
First off what have they done to my boy Diego, was he written worse to make an excuse for Lila to want to take a break from him and get w Five??
Don’t even get me started on Five and Lila.Keep in mind Five originally met Lila when she was like 3-4,they met again when Five was in the body of a teenage boy, while being mentally 40+,and on top of all of that Lila was already MARRRIED WITH KIDS with Diego ***FIVES BROTHER***!!! I didn’t think it would be possible to have a relationship worse than Allison’s and Luther’s (season 1).
i love Lila’s character to death but this season kinda butchered her,AND Fives character too.Like Diego and Fives relationship has always been make up of smart remarks and bickering, the one thing they could rely on each other for was trust and loyalty, for Five to betray Diego in such a way completely ruins the relationship between the brothers.Like I understand Lila and Five were alone together for 7 years but really???
Also Five finding a way home and keeping it from Lila for 6 months, while Lila had a husband and kids back home completely butchered Five’s character for me.He was always the most logical pragmatic member of the team and to not even consider the implications of what withholding that information would to do Lila is absolutely insane.
Anyways,i thought this was supposed to be like,Ben’s season or something,it was literally focused around answering the question of how he died.Even though there was such a big importance made over him,the season barely gave him enough screen time to have a proper arc (at least from what i’ve seen so far)
Im on the last episode right now,and im hoping the ending solves at least some of my complaints, but from what i’ve vaguely heard abt the ending,im keeping my expectations limited T-T
ps,i’m so happy they didn’t ruin viktor’s character this season,i mean sure his arc was kinda stunted/forgotten about in season 2-3,then reviving in the last season, but at least he got some closure/growth.

TUA Season 4 Episode 6
Time for the last episode!
I am confused (I do love muse though)
this feels so much like a cult. it probably is a cult.
why does abigail know so much about everything???????????? how does she know about the keepers??????how is she perfectly mimicking gene????
ben?
ben and jennifer "become the cleanse"?? what does that even mean??
is reginald setting him up? abigail knows what's happening. does reggie know?? he probably does he's not even human
o h hi diego and luther
oh diego. oh no.
aww diego you're being so nice to luther
lila's parents are actually pretty sweet
abigail the cracks in your mask are showing
they're all like :0
oh shit ben--
oh their cult is breaking apart from the inside
oh. oh jean's dead.
oh lila. oh god this is weird. i never thought i'd see a cheating subplot in tua between the brellies but here we are.
oh diego he's trying...
oh lila. (where are the other kids?)
ok. aren't they supposed to be saving ben? why are they all gathered here now?
"Jean.""With a G?""With a J."
viktor. please do not kill that mob. ok he's not, what's he going to do
oh the tattoo! huh interesting. he's always wanted the umbrella academy tattoo but now's he's got an inverted one. huh. he's working on his own but still doing it all for ben (his family). interesting.
he's not very discreet, is he.
why is the viktor the only one doing anything? where's the rest of them?? did they just forget??
omg viktor asdkahg
ok so how did he get in? did he like, actually climb in?
what. is. this. ben what did they do to you. what am i looking at my eyes are confused
yes what is happening to them. like i know it's the marigold and the durango but why does the chemical reaction look like THAT. abigail how did you make these particles. i need answers.
why are the others not doing anything???????? why are they just. sitting there.
why are five and diego fighting right now. they have much more important stuff to do.
ok now is not the time for family drama. why are they spending time on this?? there's still so much stuff to be answered.
luther, allison and klaus's reactions :0
oh diego :(( why did this have to happen?? what does this achieve???
oh ben and viktor. oh this is making me sad.
YES. the team is FINALLY heading towards the right place.
oh my god. why is BABY SHARK playing. no more. no more.
yes five. do it. please.
"i can't control it" ben. ben :((((((((
"I can save him" viktor. is it because what umbrella ben did in the cia building. aww:((((((((((
what? was that garden??
REGINALD
oh god ben. they shot him again. oh my god he's dead.
reggie?? oh...
oh GOD THEY'RE MERGING
oh they wanna react with the brellies.
"i can fly now" oh yes you can klaus
so the cleanse is a lovecraftian monster?
oh it's getting stronger. oh no. is it absorbing their powers
that's not the point here five and diego--the harbinger of the apocalypse is, like, thirty feet away from you guys
allison go go go go go
why are they taking on the Cleanse one by one. why are they not fighting TOGETHER. they are much stronger TOGETHER. where was that comraderie from the opening of season 2.
oh that callback from season 3. ok lila still has mimicking powers. why didn't she use them a few episodes ago? allison's powers would be useful.
OMG FIVE AND DIEGO STOP FIGHTING THAT IS SO NOT THE POINT
yes lila talk some SENSE INTO THESE TWO OH MY GOD
five??? FIVE WHERE'D YOU GO??? i swear to GOD
oh no allison
five???????
what. did. ABIGAIL. DO?????????? explain to me what happened?????????
reggie didn't KNOW?????
oh. that's the cutscene from 1x10?
ABIGAIL?????REGGIE I DON'T GET IT??????? it DOESN'T HAVE TO END LIKE THIS??????/I DON'T UNDERSTAND!?!?? you don't need to set a monster loose to pay for your sins??? no one has to suffer for what you did??? WHY????? what kind of logic is that???????
that ending for reggie and abigail was so unsatisfying.
five where are you going. oh my god. i do not want to see that montage. this is so unnecessary to the plot. and distracting.
what???so many fives?????
so they are the problem???
what??
so they're all...dying?
Claire :( oh my heart :( owww
jesus christ this is heartbreaking oh god
oh the circle :(((((
oh that theme from season 1
jesus them standing in the circle just waiting for their deaths is so bleak and upsetting
oh that allison and viktor moment :(((((
diego and lila??
flower petals
how dare you play i think you're alone now oh my god
THIS WAS. THE MOST UNSATISFYING AND DEPRESSING ENDING EVER. I HAVE NO WORDS. ACTUALLY I HAVE MANY WORDS, BUT I THINK I NEED SOME TIME TO PROCESS. THE ENDING PICTURES WERE CUTE BUT WHAT. OKAY. OKAY. OKAY.

So many unanswered questions in TUA 4
1. Sloane???
2. Jennifer? What was with her?She was barely developed beyond being a plot device.
3. Why was she in a squid? Does she remember it? Why did she say 'The Cleanse' after getting out of it?
4. Klaus being useless. My fav character being underutilized especially after the character arc in the previous season.
5. Luther seemingly not missing his wife at all. I know its been six years but still...after the timline travelling subway reveal I thought he might try to find her.
6. Lila and Five. I get that they were stuck for seven years but Five would not do that to his brother. Why did they have to be stuck so long in the first place? What purpose did it serve other than that cursed romance?
7. The whole plot of S3 is the Kugelblitz which was caused by the Umbrellas due to the Grandfather paradox. Won't Lila and Diego's kids and Claire create the same problem in the original timeline?
This is pretty long but there's still so much more.
This season feels unreal and I mean that in a derogatory way.
TUA S4 SPOILER!!!
if you want to send me an ask to talk about this traumatic experience, you can!! i welcome you with open arms. here's a hot chocolate ☕
just finished and i had to take a minute and currently listening to chappell roan bcz holy shit
-might i say that i missed the sparrows and my sweetheart babygirl sloane? like damn ..
-yeah the only thing that plot line server was durango and marigold carrier + s*x = the end of the world
-but i think that was the only plot line i liked between ben and jen but GOD it was rushed like i want them to build trust and the relationship moreeeeeee
-OK BRO KLAUS!! MY BABYBOY KLAUS! OURRR BABYBOY KLAUS!!! god i hated that they made him relapsed or what like i was sooo happy that he was doing so well but of course the writers had to fuck him up one last time :(
-it was lost in the sauce. he did mentioned that "oh sloane would love this!" and i thought awwww but that was pretty much it :/
-this...... lila and five....... istg i said it and i'll say it AGAIN. they(the writers) pulled that one out of their asses boys. like what the actual fawkkkkkery was that? and to do it in montage form is VILE. i had to skip a lot of it. hard to watch. y/n im so sorry that you had to go through that😭😭 and infidelity???? i mean come on they killed people but trust and loyalty you cant break that i thought Five was better than that... how dare you Five. and lila wanted to dip the MOMENT that Five told her about the way back... like you did not just s-c-r-e-w him a moment ago
-and oh my god poor diegooooo hes trying so hard to be better and that reunion and the confrontation was HARD TO WATCH like damn... and she didnt answer him when he asked "Do you love him?" 2 TIMES. and yeah lila loves Five wbk fuckkkkkk
-but omg HAHA i have like 5 different angst fics in my head already brewing in my head HAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHA
-their kids, right?? im not pretty sure about the whole messed up timeline bit bcz theres a lot to understand and tbh i only just watched s1,2, and 3 like a month ago when they announced s4 released date hehe but yes all the things they did messed up the TL up
-oh and btw did you notice the ending?? was the family lila's?? bcz i noticed that the normal people all existed right? i cant rememberrrrr

The Umbrella Academy Final Season: My Version
Part Fifteen: Different Paths.
Overview: Everyone goes on their own way, some choosing to stay back, while some are on the run.
On the other hand, some decide to go on another dangerous adventure. TW: Mature language, gore, mention of murder and stuff, tell me if I missed anything! Pairings: Five x OC, Diego x Lila, Raymond x Allison, a little of Klaus x Dave, Ben x Jennifer and Luther x Sloane.
Tumblr media
A group of people stood over mutilated bodies. FIve's boss didn't understand what the hell a group of civilians, which included the richest goddamn man on Earth, were doing in what was supposed to be the CIA's crime scene.
"The farm belongs to Gene and Jean Thibedeau," one of the guys under Five told him. Five nodded, a serious look on his face as he sighed, before turning to walk to them.
Well, the man thought. There seems to be a connection.
"Miss Rosewood," he called, beckoning her with two fingers. "Who are those people with Mr. Five?"
"They're connected to this case, sir," Clementine said, not giving away more than she needs to.
Meanwhile, Allison looked at the bloodbath casually. "Okay, Ben is an asshole; I'll give you that, but a mass murderer?"
"Turned everyone into haggis," Lila commented, slowly walking over to a severed arm, picking it up, and showing the group a tattoo that all the Keepers got, a half-umberella. "And they have terrible taste in tattoos."
"Some next-level psycho shit," Diego said, looking at the limb his wife threw.
"This could've been a rescue mission," Viktor speculated.
"More likely a massacre by two individuals who are growing increasingly violent by the minute," Reginald countered gloomily.
"You don't know that," Viktor said irritatedly.
Five came over, shoving a hand in a pocket. "All right, so my guys tell me that this whole farm actually belongs to those two lunatics who ambushed us at New Grumpson. Gene and Jean Thibedeau."
As Allison bent down to poke a body with a stick, Luther reckoned, "Well, maybe Ben killed them too."
"Forensics found fresh tracks leading out the barn, so my guess is they escaped." Five interjected, looking around. He spotted Clementine talking casually with a forensics guy. Her tight smile told a different story as the man gave her another flirty wink. His eyebrows furrowed as he looked on, only relaxing when she moved away, no doubt with a polite excuse.
"Well, they couldn't have gotten far." Allison pondered. "Based on the signs of rigor, I'd say time of death was six, maybe seven hours ago."
Everyone stared at her with surprised faces. "How do you know that?" Diego asked, voicing everyone's bewilderment.
"Wichita, PD," she replied. "Thursday nights at 9/8 Central."
"Ready the car," Reginald called out.
"I gotta make a call," Allison said, strutting away to find a private corner.
Five moved away as well, going to where Clementine was standing. There was a crease on her forehead, her eyes distant in thought.
"Oh, I know that look," Five said, snapping her out of her thoughts. "What're you planning?"
"Just... there might be a way to stop all this," she answered.
"The answer is no," he said, immediately knowing what she was talking about.
"I didn't ask you," she simply said.
"Look, it's dangerous, alright? You could get killed, and more importantly, you could get stuck."
"As I said, I. Didn't. Ask."
He frustratedly ran a hand through his hair, stepping even closer to her. The pointy ends of his office shoes were touching the narrow ends of her heels, and she found herself nose to nose with the man.
"Do you know just how much danger you might get into, Clementine?" He said it through gritted teeth.
"I do," she replied plainly. "You don't worry about me, Five. I can take care of myself."
Five sighed in aggravation, seeing solid determination in her eyes.
"Y'know why I worry about you?" Five asked her.
Clementine's eyes flitted to his, surprise and confusion sparking in them like lightning between grey clouds.
"It's because I strive to keep myself alive. I make plans that involve everyone, including myself getting out of the place safely. You, on the other hand, are reckless and don't care if you die."
"And what, you do?" she asked casually, making Five's eyebrows furrow in shock. "Yes. Of course I do."
His response caused Clementine to flounder as her eyes widened at his genuine response. Her lips parted as she thought of a sarcastic reply, Five's eyes glancing at them once before they went back to hers.
After staring at each other for a few seconds, Five was the one to break the stupor, backing away a step and shaking his head defeatedly.
"I'm going to come with you. I must have these powers for a reason anyway, right? But, first sign of trouble, we're coming back. Deal?"
Clementine brightened up a bit before nodding. "Deal."
Meanwhile, elsewhere, Allison was on a phone call with Raymond.
"So... you're saying that this has started again? The world's going to end for, what, a fourth time?"
"We think so. But there's a way to stop it. So we're going to try it."
"Baby, think about this. Are you sure you want to spend your last few days running around instead of coming home to us?"
Allison paused, taking in a breath. "What do you mean?"
"I mean, I'm not stopping you from doing anything. But you've always just been running around, trying to save the world. Maybe it's time you gave it a rest and just let it happen. Why do you think it follows you everywhere?"
Allison was silent for a while, thinking about his words. "I... I don't know what else to do."
"Just... think about it, yeah?" he pleaded. "Claire and I are waiting for you at home; just remember that."
"I will," she said, before cutting the call. She couldn't help but agree with her husband, but she also knew that she had to at least try.
Meanwhile, Lila was toeing at a body when Diego pulled her back a little. "Stop tampering with evidence, Lila."
"They're not going to get anything from this anyway," Lila speculated. "These people wouldn't know otherworldly bullshit if it slapped them in the face."
Diego chuckled at that, brushing some stray hair away from her forehead. Suddenly she felt dizzy, swaying a little as he caught her by her arm. "What's wrong? You alright?"
"I don't know, I just..." she trailed off before she almost fell backwards. Diego and Lila saw a flash of purple before they both were in a subway station.
"What the fuck?" Diego said, before bile rushed to his throat. "Oh, that's not a very good feeling. Is this how you felt during those mornings during your pregnancies?"
"Pretty much, yeah," Lila affirmed. "Why the fuck are we here, though?"
"Where is here, exactly?" he asked, looking around at the dull surroundings and the weird symbols littered in places, as if they were supposed to be words. "Am I tripping or is there bullshit written everywhere?"
Diego just blinked at the information, partially understanding it. "Okay. But what are those?" He asked, pointing at the big board of gibberish on the right side.
"This is the subway I told you about,” she reminded. Y’know the one that has the time travelling trains.”
"I dunno, really," she replied with a shrug. "Even the map's bloody confusing," she murmured, walking forward to squint at it.
Diego stood beside her as the bright map lit up their faces, staring at the colorful lines that overlapped over each other, causing his brain to almost short-circuit.
"That's just lines overlapping each other," he said, rubbing at his eyes like the light started to burn them.
Lila suddenly blinked, before gasping. "Oh my god. I just got the perfect idea."
"And what's that?"
"Why don't we use the time choo-choo, go back in time and stop the coming Armageddon?"
Diego blinked just as a train arrived at a platform. "How... would that work exactly?"
"We travel back in time to the original Jennifer incident. Stop your Ben from ever touching that Jen," she replied plainly with a shrug.
Diego scratched the back of his neck thoughtfully, his eyebrows furrowing in worry. "But... what if we get lost? We don't even know how to navigate this thing."
"It's worth a shot, though, isn't it?" Lila asked, burrowing her hands in her pockets. "We must've gotten here for a reason, right? And plus, everything's just in place, the kids are taken care of, the others are taking care of some stuff.... we could actually go ahead with this."
And so, Allison merely went home to her family while Luther called Sloane to schedule a date with her. They both had decided they wouldn't tamper with time to lose all over again.
Viktor struck a careful deal with Reginald, opting to go with the man to find his two missing siblings.
Klaus and Dave cooped up at a motel, and the latter seemed to have the most peaceful sleep of his life while the former only stared at his sleeping face.
Ben and Jennifer found their feelings growing as rapidly as the infection grew on the latter's arm, still keeping each other at a distance, both somehow ready to go beyond the limits for each other.
Lila and Diego stepped into a train as Five and Clementine stepped in another, both going far, far away to find a solution that they could've easily found staying where they were.
This was where their paths diverged, one root growing out several branches, waiting for the moment they would be one again.

this is a rant regarding umbrella academy's fourth season 'cause i'm not happy with it at all & have the absolute need to just get my opinions out of my system, but no one i know has finished the series, so a tumblr-rant it is.
you've been warned, spoilers from here on out!
okay, so. i will start by saying that i loved the first episode. i watched it & thought that it looks promising, and that the show gets an ending-season it deserves, but starting from episode three (? i believe, could have also been episode four, but since i binged the show i remember the whole thing as a very long movie & can't really put things that happened in specific episodes) i just started to get disappointed.
the vomit 'jokes'. someone there must think those are really funny, but they just aren't. it's gross & cheap humor. i don't mind their vomiting in the car - their bodies are adjusting back to their powers, so being sick is having to vomit makes sense. every other time was unnecessary. i'm aware they did those kinda jokes before too (like when five meets his other self), but tbh i don't like those either. i just don't get it.
the only person actively working to find ben is victor, the others are basically doing nothing, which i feel is a real shame:
klaus is away for the majority of the time 'cause he felt the dramatic need to immediately revert to his drug use after regaining his powers. this led to him being locked away in a room & then a coffin. sad, 'cause like with some other characters his powers got upgraded & they could have used him for so much more than for playing a sex-medium & accidentally getting his dealer killed.
diego is in a character arc of realizing that his family is what matters most for him, which i really really loved! bummer lila had to cheat on him - i get why she did in the context of the story, just don't like the writers chose that direction, when just an episode before both lila and diego started voicing their concerns and personal issues with the marriage. i was thinking they both would start figuring out how to save their marriage and make life both exciting for both of them and their kids. but apparently that was used as a poor excuse for the writers to start an unnecessary romance.
now i get to lila & five. oh my gosh, i hated that so much. look, i'll give gallagher that he played his role very well; i really could feel his characters heartache through the screen as he was watching lila next to diego. but, was that storyline really necessary? i mean i get they were in the subway for seven years, and i understand feelings will develop under the conditions they were in. but i don't think that was necessary. yes, sure, send them to the subway. but instead of embarking them on a seven-year-long journey, why not let them be lost in there for like a month or so, & then make them stumble on that diner together, find out why the apocalypse happens together, and then let the other fives help them to get back home, so that they can inform the others & get a proper plan started? no falling in love necessary. then there would not be an annoying rivalry between diego and five, five would not have left everyone while they were fighting ben & jennifer just so he could sulk (i would have not needed to be put through that kitschy montage), diego and lila could have spent the time fixing their marriage during the episodes, and since everyone would have had the chance to work together much earlier, everything would have turned out more focused as well. also, what i really dislike: if you start this stupid route with them, at least have the courage to also say who lila actually wants to be with after seven years. being gone for seven years and then suddenly returning to your old life after having started a new relationship that also went on for a couple of years is a complex situation. they really could've done something with that, but instead she just flip-flops around, not giving a proper answer while five just sulks (which i find out-of-character, too - from him forgetting dolores completely to betraying his brother, to him suddenly acting out of emotions rather than logic, & to him just sulking alltogether, i mean). i just don't see why this development was needed for the story at all.
luther is with diego the whole time, not much happened for him either, although he did have his little breakthrough of finding out some people in the cia where involved in the cult. which is a nice find, but also didn't play a greater part in the story as not more was done with it.
allison was busy to find klaus. also with her sibling-relationship with him. which i found was an unnecessary fight either way. was just there to create useless drama. not much more to say here either.
don't have stuff to say about ben, he played a big role & i feel everything made sense for him
anyways, when it comes down to it, i just feel dissatisfied. the show would've deserved much better of an ending. i mean, i don't mind the ending per se, it makes sense. i just don't like how they got there. if you're gonna end it with them ceasing to exist, why not let them end everything on a good note, rather than with inflicting an unnecessary love-triangle? also maybe let them work together properly, to show that they learned their lessons from the other seasons? also, what i don't understand, if all of the marigold has to merge with the creature, but there were a total of 43 kids born under the same conditions as they did, then why did it work with them sacrificing just themselves? i mean understand the creature could've gotten to the rest at some point too, but i feel like they could've tapped a bit more into that (maybe during the diner scene).
i dunno, maybe i'm nitpicking, but i just feel the season was full of unnecessary drama, sometimes created out of pure nothing and an unnecessary love-triangle of which that time could have instead been used with bringing everyone together & creating a proper plan (& with diego and lila patching up their marriage and learning to work together as a badass couple; just imagine how cool the fight-scenes could have been, with them fighting using a parents' logic).
i'm just kinda sad now, tbh.

Hi! I’m curious which kpop song you would give the umbrella academy :)
*Cracks knuckles*
Oh I have been waiting for this! and despite that i'm completely unprepared sorry this will take me over an hour to answer lol
I'm not aiming for songs that the characters would listen to btw just kinda vibes and fitting lyrics!
Luther
Kingdom's Karma - I think this fits Luther and his relationship with Reginald, especially pre-s1, where he's following blindly but suffering, knowing that he's alone apart from this one person. There's a lot of lyrics that fit him, I think.
youtube
Diego
3YE's YESSIR - This song I imagine as Diego pre-collapse of the Umbrella Academy, with lyrics aimed at Reginald (I picture the "yes sir!" as sarcastic), his siblings ("don't be nervous", "trapped in your mask... come on, take my hand", "how do you feel when I'm so popular?"), and himself ("look at your reflection in the mirror" - which you could make about his scar).
youtube
Allison
VIVIZ's Rum Pum Pum - This song gives the feelings of being enticed, alongside the singer's need to be the centre of attention, which I feel captures Allison's early solo days (everyone else may forget, but I remember s1's "I heard a rumour that you loved me"). The thing about Allison that sometimes gets lost in fandom is that she's selfish, and one day I'm going to write an essay how in s1 she has sworn off rumours, but still manipulates those around her anyway.
youtube
Klaus
015B feat. Youra's My Hair is Green - An upbeat, funky song about being broken by someone and not coping well? Sounds like Klaus to me! This song is something I'd imagine with a montage of Klaus at the beginning of s1, going out getting drunk and high, all the while miserable.
youtube
Five
ARTMS - Butterfly Effect - To me this song sounds like falling through time and space, with references to speeding up, slowing down, the butterfly effect, reaching the end of a journey and looking around at the world, etc. It's not really a 'Five' song, but it just feels right.
youtube
Ben
GFRIEND's Time for the Moon Night - This song feels like the push and pull between Ben and Klaus, between leaving and staying, and at times not knowing who is saying which. Couple that with the mv, which has hints that one of the members is no longer there!
youtube
Viktor
Taeyeon's INVU - Despite being about lovers, I think this song fits his journey between loving and hating his siblings. Also, the imagery of the mv? is so on point it's kinda funny?? (plus this song is so damn good it should be required viewing/listening anyway)
youtube
Lila
BLACKPINK's Playing with Fire - I feel like this encapsulates Lila's pov of her relationship with Diego (at least s2) well, and I like the touches in the song about being warned about love by your mother!
